"This is Beatusian Newsworld. We interrupt our regularly scheduled programing to bring you this live, address from President Hannibal Smith."
Screen cuts to an office, with no visible windows. President Smith sits behind an official looking desk, wearing a black suit, with black hat and black tie.
"First I would like to say, that I am happy with the way the Beatusian citizens have handled the recent situation, and also wish to reassure you that if your power is not back on yet, it will be soon. Now on to the main reason I am giving this speech. Since I was elected to this office, following the death of my predecessor, I have been observing the situation of the government, and that of the grater world. Do you know what I have found? I have found our government to be riddled with corrupt, amoral, self-gratifying, idiots who care more about making money, and looking good while doing it, than doing what is best for the people. Even more startling, I have seen the same idiocy, and corruption, in almost every government we have interacted with. I will make it my goal to clean up our government, but do not have the power to do so directly with others. Therefore, it will take extreme finesse in foreign affairs to do so with others. I will make it my goal to ensure that our government, and anyone we deal with, is free of corruption, and idiocy, as both only serve to damage the nations those governments represent, and those that they deal with. Now, to all those out there, who take bribes, practice nepotism, and backroom deals, your out. I'll find you, and I'll crush you. We are not going to take it. Government corruption, and idiocy are the single biggest issues facing the world today, and if they are not curtailed, than it will spell disaster for modern civilization."
