The sun's warm rays illuminated the forum; the elegant stone tiles that made up the giant square sitting hot and seemingly radiating their own heat. The crowds, sweating and shouting, had been assembled for this historic moment. There, before the steps of the Curia, the newly created Supreme Magistrate stood upon the wooden platform that had been raised for the occasion. Behind him were the ranks of newly appointed senators, all dressed in proper grey military uniforms, decorations and awards covering their right breasts. The Magistrate, dressed in similar garb but of tan instead of grey, stood at the podium, addressing the people who cheered with enthusiasm at his words, and bellowed wildly with hate at the thirty dirty, ragged men standing behind the senators. They all had ropes securely around their necks.
"Today, citizens! Today we witness the end of corruption and weakness! Today we see the end of inefficiency! Today we do away with the misguided idea of democracy, and hail the New Order!" The Magistrate threw up his right hand in salute, which was replicated by the officers behind him and was celebrated by the people before him. "Let us rid ourselves of the weak and impure! Let us do away with heresy!"

"What had started nearly a month ago as a political sqwabble between the Taledonian government and the military, has now turned violent. In a daring coup, General Alexander Gordon, now the Supreme Magistrate, stormed the capital of Taledon today and has just executed all previously acting government officials."
Behind the pretty news reported could be seen endless ranks of grey-clad soldiers who marched through the streets in crisp formation, the rhythmic stamping of their feet nearly drowning out anything else. Red banners depicting the symbol of the New Order, a white column with an eagle perched atop, could be seen hanging from nearly every building without end.
"It seems that orderly chaos has descended upon the nation, as the military is rounding up all those who oppose the Supreme Magistrate, and at this time we do not know what will happen to these political prisoners."
