TRANSFER OF HERVIA SOVERIGNTY CEREMONY:
The Colstream occupation of Hervia had started after the Hervian War which brought down the corrupt dictatorship. Alfegos gained a colony after the war which was given to them by the Republic Of Colstream as a thank you gift for helping to finish the war quickly. Today marks the start of the transfer of the rest of Hervia under Alfegos rule as the Republic Of Colstream wishes to move away from Colonialism and move precious military soldiers and materials back to the Colstream Manland.
"Well, at least we can get that blasted fence down."
The Colonial Minister, along with the colony representitive and other officials, bounced along in a jeep along one of the potholed roads still being repaired. Soldiers sweated as they repaired the road surface either side of the convoy moving towards the Colstream half of Hervia. Behind the lead armoured car, a convoy of 2 lorries and an IFV followed, clouds of dust coming from the under-construction road. Ahead of them was the "border": a concrete barrier that stretched from the north to south coast of Hervia. At this gap, where the new road was being built, a guard booth and small tower stood above the wall, a view given on all the surroundings.
"How long till we get to the city?"
"Not long, now we're on tarmaced roads."
They turned off the new road and onto a conventional route on the other side, following the length of the wall. Soon to be torn down if this went well.

The Conference date was sent via a Communications link to the Colonial Minister.
Dear Sir,
The conference for the handing over ceremony is set for tomorrow. We would like an Alfegos delegation to attend at Hervia City's parliament building in the Grand Hall where the Colstream Delegation currently holding the Colstream Zone of Hervia will sign the rest of Hervia into your care. Colstream Forces will move out the following day.
That day stated, the vehicles rolled into the capital city. News reporters followed the convoy in packs, and a few news helicopters and even a new airship hovered above it. Cheers accompanied the convoy as it rolled up to the front of the city hall. The doors of the lead car were opened, allowing the Colonial minister and the other dignitaries to walk up the steps to the buildings, a phalnax of soldiers following them for security purposes.
The ministers walked in through the doors to the calm interior, to greet the Colstream party that were to co-ordinate this ceremony. In this area, no press were allowed: a brief respite from the chattering of shutters from the pack outside.
"Well, good morning. Let today be a great step in our nation's history."

"Good Morning sir" came from the head of the Colstream Commitee, the soon to be former Hervian Governor, Simon Hughes. Holding out his right hand he asked "Lets get Started, shall we?"
"We shall indeed."
He shook the offered hand, before turning wih him to walk out onto the podium in front of the city hall. The noise rose up to a roar as reporters took photographs, before silence descended. In strategic corners, almost invisible, the soldiers lurked. Invisible until needed, they were very efficient in these matters. He waited for the Colstream man's speech.

Simon Hughes took a deep breath and spoke through the microphone to the crowd of Alfegos dignatries and reporters.
"Today is a very important day in Hervia's history. The Republic Of Colstream has decided to take this step for a number of reasons. The first reason is the Colstream Government wishes to fall back from Colonial territories to free the men and women of the Colstream Armed Forces from the bases there to combat the growing threat of international terrorism. Another reason is that these colonies are expensive to maintain and fund. We will give this territory to Alfegos so they can help the Hervian People use the fertile land that is here and the oil resources that are just below us. Alfegos has the economical capacity to fund these projects which we have not got. The signing of this treaty will confirm Hervia's prosporus future for generations to come!"
"Thankyou Governer."
He waited while the treaty was signed, followed by signing his signature.
"Today marks a day for the Hervians that they shall never forget. And I sincerely mean that. Reconstruction has never been at a higher rate, and as you all know Hervia is one of the richest Alfegan colonies. This will allow us to knock down walls both physical and cultural, and allow the entire colony to benefit from Alfegan support."
He passed the pen to the colonial minister, who signed, before holding up the treaty, to the applause of the onlookers.

The following day, the Colstream Army began to withdraw from the old frontier and started to board troopships to be sent home. They left everything where it was and even left the recent resupplies of food at the barracks they vacated. As they withdrew, they were met with crowds giving their thanks and expressing their farewells. The next process was to next ask the new Alfegos governor of Hervia if the Colstream Businesses could stay in Hervia under the new administration.
3...2...1...
There was a deafening explosion as the border wall exploded at points, televised on the news to the cheers of the gathered crowds. Now the people began moving across the destroyed barrier: to do whatever they wanted.

"Hello, yes, just confirming these details... we will be allowing Colstream businesses to continue as usual, though with limited subsidies compared to native or Alfegan businesses."

The days since the Colstream businesses had started to trade under Alfegos rule had been prosperus. The euphoria of the colony being one, even though Colstream rule was similar to being now under the colony, had made the companies make more money than ever before. The economy was booming.
To the Alfegos Colony Governer
From President Jack Walker:
Congratulations on making the old Colstream territory nmore prosperus than when my government was in charge. I wish you a great future in charge of the Colony.
