First Stoklomolvi Election

With Alexei growing older and requiring an heir, he offered his position of Commissar to his son, Nikolai. However, his son decided to hold democratic elections for the first time in 1,839 years, when the Republic of Stoklomolvi still existed. A number of candidates have appeared, with five gaining the majority and the remainder being booted off of the political stage. The candidates are as follows. Specific questions may be asked, and note that this is a serious, unbiased election.

Nikolai Alexeiovich Stuyonovich
Communist, wants to maintain current regime
Son of Commissar Alexei Aleksandrovich Stuyonovich

Boris Karlstinovich Yaganov
Communist, wants to change more towards State Capitalism and maintain current dictatorship
Son of a wealthy chief executive officer

Alexei Skylivovich Keltsin
Communist, wants to change radically towards a Capitalist Republic
Son of a peasant

Vasiliy Marioslovich Kolchin
Communist, wants a change to a Capitalist Fascist Dictatorship
Son of a famous political activist

Vladimir Adrianovich Rozanov
Communist, wants a change to a Socialist Monarchy
Descendant of an ancient Stoklomolvi monarch

Vladimir Adrianovich Rozanov
Communist, wants a change to a Socialist Monarchy
Ancestor of an ancient Stoklomolvi monarch

Sorry to nitpick, its just that he couldn't possibly be the ancestor of an ancient Stoklomolvi monarch. I think you mean descendant.

Mr. Keltsin,

I applaud your efforts to convert a state of parasitic government into one of free and rational association governed by the people. It is rare that men put their careers on the line in pursuit of such a goal.

Rarer indeed, is when they leave the experience unscathed. I do not want to suggest anything specific to you, as I could be wrong. But if you are ever in need of a place where you can be sure the agents of resistance to rational interactions between individuals will never reach, you have Gesford.

Good luck in all of your endeavors.

OOC: It's very easy to take the self-righteous view "he's a capitalist pig, we're in it for the will of the people, we want everyone to help each other, etc. " However, by assassinating him you have circumvented the will of the people (even if this poll only reflects foreign support, you have eliminated a choice that apparently some people wanted) and you have sacrificed their future for your own petty grievances and discomforts with capitalism. Capitalist pig? Really? You sound like the worst of the knee-jerk leftist fanatics who can't stand someone disagreeing with them. I know you aren't one of those people, so why do you stoop to that level?

Oh, and speaking to the Russian thing, "during Soviet times", the economy was basically headed to hell. Lets try to think of how long the breadlines would have existed as a viable food option for people had the USSR existed for another 20 to 50 years. Because that's how long governments need to plan in advance. That's why China is going the direction it's going. Because in the long term, Communism doesn't work. Granted, Russia's problems today I would attribute to corruption stemming from overprivatization, but let's look at the root here. Corruption in the first place there stems from people's experiences working in a Communist system. Its mindsets from Communism that dooms Russian capitalism. I would challenge you to find such an example of such rampant corruption in a nation that has never been Communist, and in fact one that has a tradition of strict Capitalism.

I'm not telling you how to run your country, or how to think. I'm just saying that you need to give "capitalist pigs" credit for what they do (ensure the survival of your nation's economy, and thus future) before you decide that they all deserve to die, because "what would we do without the breadlines".

Really, my country wants to keep all the time and good relations we've had with Stoklomolvi, and we want the Commissar's son to win.
