The Rebellion (Open, FT)

Nova United System

The Astaterians were under attack by pirates and rebels over the last ten years, but, usually, the Astaterians held them off, but now it was different. The Rebels managed to get hold of the latest weapons and now the Astaterian navy was being pounded back to their home system. After a few months though, the defenses collapsed and the Astaterian navy was driven back again to three homeworlds. The Rebels seized the nearby habitable planets and begun planning for the next assault. The rebels struck hard, but were suddenly beaten back by the latest ship developed by the Astaterian navy. It was much bigger then a Super destroyer, something called the "Anti-Super Destroyer". The new ship was around 20 kilometers long, which was bigger then the rebel fleet combined. the rebels were routed and the Astaterians won. All that remained of the Asataterian navy was 4 ships, 1 massive ship, and three cruisers.

The rebels were preparing for another assault, this time with everything they had. The Astaterian navy knew that they would collapse if the rebels sent in everything. A message, in all languages, was sent out to the surrounding systems and the universe.

The Astaterians were calling for aid.

The light cruiser Naru was on patrol with her four escorts, the destroyers Tolga, Tynset, Alvdal, and Folldal when they recieved the message.

"Captain, we're recieving a request for aid. I think it's from some backwater planet's government." reported the Naru's comms officer.

"Just what seems to be the problem?" asked Captain Sven.

"I'm not sure. Probably pirates or Allaneans or some other godless plague. It doesn't say." conjectured the comms officer.

"...Very well. Radio the Trondheims and set course for the location of the signal." relented the skipper. These little rescue missions were becoming all too frequent. He was begining to think that it might be a better idea to just annex all of the little independent nations that couldn't properly defend themselves rather than keep running his ship all over the place to save the day.

Heralded by a bright white flash, the five Shanderan ships appeared in the Nova United system. Their blue hulls shone in the light from the system's star. Shortly after arrival, Captain Sven sent out a message.

This is the Bryn Shanderan cruiser Naru. We've recieved a vague request for aid. What is the nature of your emergency?

The War-fortress Osiris was on a search and destroy mission, searching for the last remnants of the Dark Misstreses suporters, when it recived an emergancy message.
"Looks like someone needs our help" Said High Admaral Haigh (comander of the ship) "Trace that signal and set a course, maximum transwarp."
"Ayte sir" chorused several crew members.

A few minutes later the Transwarp drive humed into life, a green transwarp window opened and the Osiris sped off towards its destination.

After 30 minutes it dropped out of transwarp and began broadcasting on all frequencys "To the senders of the distress message transmited from these co-ordinates, this is High Admaral Haigh aboard the D.E.S. Osiris, we have sent a transmition to the ISIS HQ requesting reinforcements (http://www.freewebs.com/isisalliance/forums.htm?forumID=2057198&page=1&topicID=1106287)and are here to provide suport. "Ship master," started the operator. "We have a transmission from a race requesting help against rebels,"

Ship master Kennedy looked around the bridge and ordered a transmission to be sent throughout the 16 Assault cruisers and 9 transport cruiser's to set course for the Nova United System.

After a hyper jump.

Kennedy sent out a message.

To: Nova United
From: Union Warship Destroyer

We hear your cry for help and we'll answer the call with the 32nd Assault Fleet, 10th Lynion Hunters Division, 4th Armoured Division and the 14th and 12th Regular's Division.

We are Lynion origin. Standby, help is on the way.

"Ah, some requests? For aid no less. Freeloaders." The Lesser Admiral Yuji frowned and shouted over the ship wide comm.
"Get the freaking lead out! Set warp to those co-ordinates, and put something good on, that shit ain't fighting music!" Blue Danube cut out for a moment, replaced with She Builds Quick Machines. "Much better, now go!" The battlegroup jumped into hyperspace.

In the depths of the warp, something laughed.
And so the mortals call for aid. Whispered a voice through the dust of the immaterium. And we will send it to them. It laughed again. They are weakened, we must wait for the moment to strike, and then it will tumble down.

Space weakened slightly, and it wobbled as it's material barriers were being teared down. The area was being prepared, for the entrace to the mortal realm.

It was that which had called them there. The Librarians of the Grey knights had ordained it centuries before. Many would forget these things however Justicar Tigrus had found this prophecy deep in the Librarium Daemonicum on Tepis. It was what had lead him to the Astaterian system aboard the Strike Cruiser Hunter Brother-Captain Huron had sent him and his squad to hunt the Enemy in this system.

He turned and his gunmetal armor glinted in the light of the system's sun, hefting his Nemesis Halberd he walked to the central dais and examined the star charts and auspex readings. He looked around at his men and smiled knowing they were in for a fight.

The Corpse-Lord sends his best, the Ordo Malleus' lapdogs, the Astartes, the Grey Knights.

It wont be a problem.

But master-

They are but an obstacle in my great schemes. Leave them to me, they are but a pawn in my game.

On a planet of Change, deep within the warp, where the continents changed shape constantly and the atmosphere turned poisonous to containing high levels of nitrogen in a moment, a Greater Daemon of Chaos pondered over it's realm as it stood on a mountain of Tzeentchian monuments. Looking over it's planet, Fatecarver continued it's thoughts in silent contemplation. The Grey Knights were pests at best to it's thoughts, but long had they hounded the Great Daemon of Undivided Chaos. Yes they had been sucsessful once, sending him back to the warp for a thousand years and a day. Not that it cared, time was nothing to an immortal. As it looked over the many forming volcanoes over the horizen, it heard the constant screams of his Khornate followers through the winds. Rustling it's many multicoloured feathers, Fatecarver slunk back to the top of the mountain where his great throne was. It was made of flesh and blood, and it resonated slowly with the power of the warp.
Send me your champions to the last man, Emperor, that I may grind them to dust! It screamed in unison with the choirs of the Khornate bloodletters as the planet's seas turned to blood.

The Phenixican Empire if you please will send 15 Battlecruisers along with 30 Patrol Ship to the Republic to Aid your efforts.

The Empire asked that afterwards we hold talks about a Alliance between our two nations, As the Empire is always striving to find new Allies in this Conflicted Universe of which we live.

The Empire can activate it's Warpgates and send the Fleet directly to your Star system, aslong as you supply Coordinates to which we can align it too.

"Captain?"
"Yes, Etch'vaar?"
"I am picking up a signal. My interpreters have classed it as an SOS."
"Play it back."
The captain of the Venerable One, the most heavily armed battleship in all of outpost 829304 of the Omega Matrix, listened to the cry for help and silently contemplated his options.
"Etch'vaar? I think I will request help from the Overlord."

The captain had made his decision. He would ask for troops from the Omega Matrix itself. These rebels wouldn't know what hit them.

"...This isn't an attack by pirates or Allaneans." stated the captain.

"Is it really our business to be interfering with their internal affairs, sir?" questioned one of the lesser officers on the bridge.

"We're the goddamned Vascilian League. Everything is our business if we so deem it to be our business. Besides, they requested help." came the skipper's swift reply.

A message was broadcast from the Naru.

We understand that you have been having issues with rebels. It has been decided that this ship will remain in system to aid in the defense of your planet until a more official arrangement can be made. The Captain has requested a meeting with your government for a proper briefing.

OOC: On a side note, these Bloodletters I speak of are the newer models version (the ones being released 10th of may).

The mortals must be stopped, the rebels must achieve their goal! Whispered Fatecarver through the Warp. We attack now!

The weakened area of space bulged as the Legions of the Chaos Gods tried to tear themselves into the mortal realm. The Daemons did not have any ships, they would have to do with Fatecarvers powers of teleportation. With a final push, space teared open, and in a moment it had closed up. It looked like nothing had got through, but it's amazing how fast Daemons can be.

Spinebreaker, Bloodletter Champion and Bloodbather of Khorne slowly turned his huge horned head to and fro. It was always strange to move into the mortal realm, and he stomped his hooves in frustration that he had been given a mission of sabotage and not full on attack. His long tongue slithered out of his fanged mouth, and he looked around for some prey to kill. None, he noted with disapointment. One of the bloodletters; Deathbringer, snarled in bloodlust.
"We have been given a quest for Nurglings. We are the Soldiers of the Blood God! We do not hide like cowards!"
"Hold your tongue weakling! You will get your Blood, you just need to be patient." Spinebreaker growled, and stomped over to a nearby wall. In faded black letters there were the words

The Osiris, Lowest Deck

Spinebreaker hefted his greatsword onto his shoulder, and pointed with his claw into the dimly lit corridors next to his warriors.
"Move out Bloodletters, we strike at the heart. Then you will get your blood." The Bloodletters shouted as loudly as they dared in fanatic worship to their god, and marched on, their greatswords hungering for blood.

The struggle of the Astaterians was not unheard in the chaos of this universe. Help comes from many strange places, and with the arrival of Chaos, it would appear that they would need more help than ever, though they do not know of the threat that festers deep within the heart of one of their rescuers. However, help was on its way from the Galactic Defense Initiative. A bustling nation of humans who have, in recent years, defeated a powerful internal foe, and come back from being utterly defeated and losing almost all of the Second Fleet to the Balroggans in the GE attack on Jurai. However, in the years since then, the GDI received aid from the Dornalians in the form of technology to give them a boost in their capabilities, and with the Home Reclamation and Home Defense efforts nearly finishing, the GDI were ready to help abroad once more. And what better place to start than in a nation struggling to defend itself from rebellion.

The GDI felt their pain; having to deal with the Brotherhood of Nod had nearly destroyed them, several times, and the Chiefs of Staff deemed it necessary to send aid. Knowing that several nations were probably already on their war, they were not going to need to send much aid. So it was that a single GDI Hades-class Heavy Cruiser, the GDIS Talon, captained by a one Jane Clark. It was enough and reinforcements were on call, in case things got bad, which was going to be prudent in the following minutes...

The ships there would since a flickering of spatial disturbance and then pseudo-motion as they saw the strange sight, except in the case of the ships from Bryn Shander, of a ship phasing into existence within two seconds. One second, it was but a wisp of illusion, the next it was here, armor, weapons, and all. Jane stood up and clasped her hands behind her back. "Open a channel to the Republic, Samantha."

"Yes, ma'am." The EVA A.I. set to work, and a channel was quickly opening. Coughing to clear her throat, she began to speak.

"Greetings to the Astaterian Republic from the Galactic Defense Initiative. I am Captain Clark of the GDIS Heavy Cruiser Talon. We have intercepted your distress call and have sent a ship to aid in your defense against the rebels. Where would you like to have me?"

The Initiative had come, and added another layer to this already complex puzzle...

Justicar Tigrus listened intently as his Navigator informed him of the incursion by the forces of Chaos. He looked to Listros as he hefted his Incinerator, "Prepare for a teleport we need to deal with these forces quickly and efficiently. Also be prepared because I just received a report that Lord Vagabond was sighted in the area, and you know how he wishes to prove his might." Justicar Tigrus looked to his men as they finished their prayer of battle. The seven of them had been with him loyally for years he almost smiled as he saw the Osiris before their cloaked Strike Cruiser.

A few minutes later they were on the teleporter and they began the sacred rites to use the teleporter. The smell of incense reached the Justicar's nose before he smelt the burning ozone indicative of the teleporter.

Moments later they were aboard the Osiris the Shrouding hiding them from all forms of detection. Stepping forward Justicar Tigrus had to shrink down as he entered the corridor from a cargo bay. He called out to his squad, "Listros take point." Listros keenly eyed him and gave a brisk nod manuveuring around him. Slowly the squad began down the corridor to hunt down the Chaos threat.

Currently we would like your ship to be placed to the right of our largest warship, because the ship can be easily attacked on the flank.

Also, Kewen, my child, you have not seen the things I have seen. This is on the cusp of being a cluster fuck, but I've seen ones where the amount of nations exceeded the fingers on both hands. My food for thought today.

IC:

"I understand and am moving to the appropriate vector. May God watch over us all. Talon out."

Clark turned to Samantha. "Get us there, and keep an eye out for these rebels. I want us ready and locked on to them when they come in-system. Let's chase these bastards straight back into the void."

"Yes, ma'am." The A.I. turned and began to work, it's eyes half-lidded to show it was busy getting them moving. The engines grew bright as power was shunted to them, and the ship smoothly turned to bank to the right and moved with great precision and skill to the right of the Astaterians largest warship, so as to prevent any flanking maneuvers the rebels might managed to pull off. Then, they sat down and waited for the enemy to come. The area quieted down, until they could hear the soft beeping of the consoles, the tapping of keys, the humming of the machines. It was the deep breath before the plunge....and soon, it would turn into all out chaos and destruction. Clark sighed. But then, battle was always like that. You can't have your cake and eat it too, you had to sacrifice something to get something, something called equivalent exchange by some people.

She shrugged and turned his eyes back to the sensors, waiting for the first signs of contacts.

OOC: Ah dont worry VT. What thewy don't know is that war fortresses have some 2 million troops aboard, there are only about 7 thousand people who are actuly classed as crew. Also the amount of internal sensors would mean the chaos forces would be instantly detected and set upon by 8000 attack drones (scaled down for interior use). Baisicly they be dead assoon as they got in there, some how.

IC: mariens instantly swarmed all entrance points to the lower deck, sealing it with the EPS forcefields and flooding it with poisenous gas. Instantly the ship was in emergancy lockdown and the 8000 attack drones activated, using thier multi phasic scanners to root out any intruders.

Spinebreaker stopped, and held up his claw for the other Daemons to do the same. There was a sound of hissing, and the air seemed to be changing colour slightly. After a moment, Spinebreaker started to laugh, and then the others joined in one by one.
"These mortals have never heard of us before it apears. They never truly do before it's too late." He said, and turned around to carry on. Suddenly, he heard something, a clunk, like a boot hitting a surface, insanely quiet, but not quiet enough for a Daemon. He didn't turn around, he sensed the others had heard it too, and he kept walking. It apppeared the enemy had come. There were shouts up ahead, for the first time in a while, Spinebreaker was impressed by Mortal technology. Not that he cared, he lived in the Warp, and living in the warp for so many millenia really made all things in the mortal realm quite unamazing. The Daemons were in the middle of a pincer movement, but the "People" behind them could be used to their advantage.

Tigrus watched as the Bloodletters moved cautiously he did not care for the Xenos filth aboard the craft and as such held no special quarter for them. In battle-sign Tigrus ordered his men to steel themselves for the coming battle and began to chanted the Rites of Exorcism. Signaling with a swift chop Brother Listros filled the corridor full of holy flame. Shortly after a flurry of psycannon rounds punched through the flame and down the corridor, the trained fire of the Grey Knights surpassing any normal Space Marine. Holy fire licked at the daemons and psychic rounds pounded at them. Spinebreaker sweeped round in a roar the moment the flames billowed out of the mortal's weapon. Screaming in bloodlust, the Daemon charged as the Grey Knights pushed their bolter-carriers to the fore. Using his powerful hind legs, Spinebreaker leapt up into the air just as the hall filled with bolts. Sailing over his kin, he crashed into one of the Grey Knights, and screamed.
"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!"

The Daemons howled, and as one they all jumped up towards the Grey Knights. But rather than crash into them, they swung over them, and landed right behind the Knights themselves. Now the drones would have to go through the Knights to get to the Daemons.

As Spinebreaker landed on the Justicar knocking him to the ground the Justicar laughed, "Wow you are a cocky son of a bitch aren't you? Well I've got something to fix that." He wrestled with the daemon as he reached for something. The claws of the daemon raking divets into his armor as he pulled free a black obsidian rod. Grabbing the bloodletter by the throat with his free arm he and his men began to speak the Canticle of Absolution.

Praise the Emperor for his sacrifice,
as He endures so shall we.
We who are Hunters of Daemons,
shall strive in his name eternally.

As he spoke the words his armor glowed with the protective wards built into it to burn at the daemon's flesh. Listros pulled two vortex grenades free and tapped their buttons twice hurling them down either side of the corridor. Massive warp vortexes opened up acting as both a shield and a mighty destructive force.

Meanwhile Justicar Tigrus wrestled with the creature slamming the rod firmly against the daemon's midsection he squeezed unleashing punishing bolts of anti-psyker energy. His vox crackled as the words issued forth, "Even you can't stand up to this kind of attack. Good luck staying established in this realm with this in your gut. You fugging piece of shit." They continued chanting,

We the Order of the Hammer,
shall delve into the Dark Shadows.
We shall seek out the Tainted,
we shall pursue the Vilest Evil.

It is we who stand guard,
our Eternal Watch shall not fail.
For we are the Ordo Malleus!

We Grey Knights are the Hammers,
we slay the Darkness without fear.

OOC: Wrong account but a bit pressed for time. We are all gathered at your system, waiting to fight the rebels. Warp guy wants you to be weakened, so he sent some of his people to sabotage the biggest ship there, on the assumption that it is the strongest. He is inside and trying to wreak havoc, but has activated all kinds of defense systems, and Drath is in there, with his Grey Knights, to stop them. They got into a brawl. So basically, as the ships wait to fight, there is a fight inside the big ship.

"Incoming tachyon burst. Looks like a fleet coming in. It must be the rebels that we were told about." came the urgent report from the sensors officer.

Begin preparations for combat. Launch fighters and signal general quarters. I want the atmosphere vented in five minutes, and make sure that the destroyers follow suit. Begin broadcasting Minovsky Particles as soon as the destroyers are informed." barked the captain.

Throughout the Naru, crewmen scrambled to their battlestations in their armored space suits. On the flightdecks, the ground crews worked quickly to get fighter after fighter armed and onto the catapults and off the deck. One by one the Shanderan fighters were launched into space packing 80 megaton anti-ship torpedoes. On another flight deck, mobile suits were armed and launched as well. The same process was taking place on the destroyers as well, though on a much smaller scale.

The first formations were buzzing around the Shanderan task force when the atmosphere began to vent. This was to prevent explosive decompression in the event of a hull breech and to discourage boarding by any suicidal enemies at the same time.

Meanwhile, the Shanderan ships began to spread Minovsky Particles, a type of electrically neutral particle that naturally formed a tight lattice known as an I-field. The I-field blocked most forms of electromagnetic radiation within the area of effect, completely disabling radio, radar, and just about anything that relied on something aside from visual light. While the Shanderans would also be affected by the disabling I-field, they were used to fighting in these conditions and suffered no handicap.

OOC: Ih8wannakillu, my cruiser can assault planets. It has enough guns, given about maybe half an hour, to turn a planet into mush. The top at least. So, size isn't everything, and I'm sure some of us here *cough*Bryn Shander*cough* can do more than I can. And just having a big cruiser does not mean you are safe. Astater said in one of his posts that they had the latest weapons, so we should respect him and at least be worried about this. Especially since some of us, like me, only have one ship. It's tough, but not invincible. As such, let's not be like LAWLZ WE PWNZORZ, but actually try to be worried. A thousand ships are a LOT of ships, and with only five hundred ish, with planets to protect, thats a lot to worry about.

Also, we have no where close to even one HUNDRED ships, my friend. I don't know where you got 500 friend. So yeah, we're kinda in a fight for our lives here.

IC:

"Ma'am, we have contact. An armada of ships heading for us." The Captain, who had been looking through her log, checking the latest news from Command, glanced up and pressed the key to shut down the pad. Standing up, she walked up to the railing and grasped it firmly, before gazing down at the officer who had spoken. Her eyes narrowed in their pre-battle tension. She was mentally preparing herself before she got herself ready to begin.

"Alright, Ensign, what is the situation?"

The officer let his hands fly over the keys as the information came rolling in, supplied by Samantha. "Well, ma'am, it's going to be a long haul. It would appear the enemy has over 1000 ships. We have...maybe less than fifty, maybe into the sixties if we get lucky. Shall I call for help, ma'am?" Jane pushed her weight down onto her arms as she thought quickly. A thousand ships? And the nation they were supporting had a paltry eight. One was a powerful ship, yes, but even that would go down even if a couple hundred focused fire on it. Yes, they were going to need reinforcements.

"Send the message to the Third Fleet at Hades; the gates to the Underworld are open."

The Ensign grimly smiled at those words. "Aye, ma'an." He turned and began to input the commands to send the message, but the captain knew they would have to hold on till the fleet arrived. The fleet would be able to move quickly, since they had gathered it before hand, in case of a situation like this. But it would take time even for their incredibly fast FTL-4 drives to get them here. So for now, they would have to hold the line. Jane smirked as she turned to face the A.I. Samantha, who had just appeared. Holding the line was something GDI did best.

"Samantha, have all railgun batteries deploy, all missile pods ready and waiting with their payloads, and the Ion Blasters better be nice and hot for our new friends."

The A.I. looked down and scuffed the floor shyly. "Ma'am...while you are calling for the fleet, I already prepared the weapons, the point defense system, and the shields. We are only waiting for the rebel ships to come within enough range for the first salvo to do any damage worth the effort."

Jane gazed at her, surprised, and then smiled. "Good job, Samantha. You'll be getting a good report to Command, if we survive all this." The A.I. blushed, as much as it could, and then nodded, vanishing. It now focused on the enemy and prepared the weapons for battle. With its vast Ion lancer point defense system, the GDI had no need for fighters; it had enough cover to protect from every angle. The GDI had researched the gains and losses of having no fighters, and the gains were higher, especially in human life.

Now, they only had to wait for the enemy to come to them and they would be ready, with energy and kinetic, determination and wit, to defend these people from the ravages of the rebellion.

"Sir, we're counting a thousand ships!"
"A single thousand? Then the odds are even." The admiral leaned forward and slammed his fist onto his arm rest. "Burn their mongrel hides!" The group of ships turned to face the rebel fleet, then opened fire with their side disruptors. Alone, the shots would do nothing but rapidly deplete shields. But then the Raven turned, presenting the front of it to the enemy. The four front spikes glowed green for a moment, before a concentrated beam of red energy shot* towards the group, sweeping between them.

*OOC: The beam is a thing called a Icarus phaser. Its run off this fictional crystal unique to Void Templar, and essentially when its atoms are cracked, instead of making a really big boom like nuclear bombs, the energy it produces is harmless until mixed with water, whereupon it takes the water particles and attaches the atoms of the crystal to it, so it forms a liquid, which can then go boom. However, when that is mixed with dusty plasma's, it becomes a superheated, viscous fluid which can be concentrated and fired, cutting through shields and most medium hulls like butter. Problem is, the amount of heat it takes to fire this cannon means its extremely dangerous to use and once used has an cooldown timer of 30 minutes, even though it can only be fired for 10 seconds at a time. The cooldown is overideable but only via the onboard OSADAI defense AI, and doing so usually results in a rather spectacular fireworks display. *wink wink nudge nudge hackers* Oh, and sorry for rambling. Damn, the OOC is longer than the IC!

The Naru's hundred and forty four fighters and seventy two mobile suits were clearly outnumbered. Unlike the rebels, however, their pilots were perfectly adapt at flying without the sensors that the I-field disabled. They dodged and weaved through the enemy formation with expert precision and skill, showing fantastic teamwork to bag enemy after enemy.

Naru's point defense guns filled the sky with flak, as did the PD guns of her destroyers. The main guns of the Shanderan battlegroup all targeted the largest ship in the rebel fleet and fired several times. Good.Although the rebels are not making it easy for us, they charge into the enemy like fools, what can they expect to acomplish but a quick death? These mortals intrigue me, but their lives are insanely short, theres no point in teaching them anything. Fatecarver laughed. I forsee the Astartes becoming a large problem, the rebels are a secondary priority for now. Send in Y'rlith'sogothfullC'thulikmu'l'osoth. The second phase begins.

Loregiver watched the Grey Knight's ship, as it floated in space. He dared not go near it, as he could feel the wards built inside the cruiser. He was not as foolish as Spinebreaker, running into the mortals face-on. The Ordo Mallleus was designed to kill his type of Daemon; fools who were careless, let themselves be found out. Khornate warriors disgusted Loregiver, they had no style, they had no real skill. The Grey Knights would be teleporting back any moment now, just as Fatecarver intended. After a moment or two, Loregiver sensed the teleportation device being activated, and as the mortals were transported through space to their cruiser, Loregiver joined them.

"We've been hit!" announced one of the crewmen on the bridge as the ship was slightly jarred by the impact.

"The rebels?" asked the captain, surprised that they would be able to hit blind at this range.

"No, sir. We were just kamikaze'd by one of the 'friendly' fighters. The shields absorbed the impact completely." came the reply.

"We have another incoming bogy on an attack vector. This one is coming from the oversized sack of shit."

"Take it out and instruct the destroyers to break off attacks on the rebel fleet. Tell them to focus on taking out incoming strike craft instead. I don't want another foreign fighter, torpedo boat, or shuttle coming within twenty kilometers of this ship."

The Naru's #3 turret rotated to meet the Huthrivur and tracked the transport for a second or so before firing its mega particle cannons. Things weren't adding up here the prophecy spoke of a greater daemon rising here with a great daemon army. It was an odd sight to the crew of the ship seeing the Justicar walking the lower decks in deep thought. He was stripped to the waist in fatigues, multiple tattoos depicting anti-daemonic wards were spread across his upper torso. Hanging on his belt was a bolt pistol and a combat knife. Walking almost mindlessly he found himself in the engine room the constant hum of the plasma reactor and the whoosh sound of other machinery at work made an interesting cacophony. Lost in the sight of the deep blue glow coming from the plasma reactor he thought on the myriad of things that were occuring around him.

OOC: Alright, Kewen. Don't go blaming BS because something turned against you. One, he is rping as his nation would by being in character. It's as simple as that; this is standard procedure for them. Also, think outside the box, the I-field only hampers EM stuff, radio, heat, etc (hint hint). Also, don't go blaming him if the battle goes ill. It isn't his fault that you can't handle an rp when things go against you. Instead of raising hell about it, just rp through it.

Also, ih8, yes that works. Case in point here, Kewen, he found a way around, you can too. And attacking allies is not going to make this battle go any better, FYI.

"Ma'am, we have incoming. They're within range now."

"Allied forces have opened fire, Captain. They will be impacting in three...two...one..." They watched as a series of bright explosions flared all across space, but the fireworks weren't over. Even as the cloud of fighters emptied from the allied ships, the enemy fighters came crashing in like a howling blizzard. The response from the allied fighters and their PD systems filled space like a fireworks display. But the enemy kept on pushing them, unloading a mass of torpedoes and firing several large laser beams at them. Jane stood up, gazing suspiciously at the beams and torpedoes.

"Get me readings on those weapons." The A.I. popped up and waved a hand, showing the data.

"It would appear that they are launching anti-matter torpedoes and firing superlasers similar to those of the Deathstar, although much weaker since they do not have the power supplied by a battle station like the Death Star."

Jane nodded. "Very well, then keep an eye on that, and dodge when able. Unlock all forward torpedo tubes and open up with a salvo of missiles and torpedoes. Follow that with the railgun batteries and keep alternating until they come within range our of Ion Blasters. Then, open up."

"Aye, ma'am." The Heavy Cruiser shifted slightly to get into position and proceeded to send a cloud of missiles and torpedoes at the enemy. Both carried a special weapon inside; the missiles had liquid Tiberium cores, so as to provide a bigger explosion for their buck, and the torpedoes held antimatter and dense matter, allowing them to do a lot of damage when they came together. This was followed up by a salvo of railgun shells that were going high fractions of .c, and you had a lot of pain ready to do some damage. They aimed for the ships that fired the superlasers, to remove that threat from the battle. Any fighters which came into range would find it near impossible to not die, much more attack the ship, since they had a mix of Ion Lancer beam weapons, which scoured the space around them in sweeping arcs to consume the fighters, and it had small rocket pods, which unloaded tiny, tracking missiles which added to the pain felt by fighters. The GDI were a fortress in space and it was showing.

The shots from the rebels rippled across the groups shields.
"Damage?"
"All ships shields down to 90%, no hull damage."
"Good, now we can return fi-" "Sir!"
"What?"
"Some of the allies have opened up on each other!"
The admiral sighed, rested his chin on his hand and muttered, "Let me guess... Dragonans?"

"Everything within twenty kilometers has been sanitized, Sir." reported one of the men on the bridge as the four destroyers fragged anything that wasn't Shanderan. It wasn't too difficult at this point, since the compact size of Naru and her escorts made them much less of targets than the oversized and underpowered warships of the other, more primitive spacefaring civilizations that had also shown up.

With the destroyers on picket duty, Naru herself was free for more offensive work. Her twenty guns all swung to port and began firing on individual rebel ships in unison. Anything smaller than a battleship surely would have a hard time withstanding more than two salvos from the cruiser's full broadside. The Naru's point defense guns also began to work offensively; each of the twenty four twin mounts on the port side switched ammunition to the heavier 15kt atomic shells and began to create a near solid wall of nuclear fire within the heart of the enemy fleet. Each of the forty eight 120mm guns on the port side fired at 180 rounds per minute, giving the atomic broadside a weight of almost nine thousand shells and covering an area of almost two hundred thousand kilometers with fire.

OOC: If your ships suck to the point where they're rendered completely useless under the effects of an I-field, you'd have been useless even without it in place.

Oh, I forgot to mention one other fun part about the I-field. The Minovsky particle also interferes with the operations of electronic circuitry and destroys unprotected circuits due to the particles' high electrical charge which act like a continuous electromagnetic pulse on metal objects.

"Order the warships to leave 20 kilometres from this zone. Keep ourselves cloak at this time," ordered King Lanakan.

Ranakin gazed around at the warships as they started to get away from the I Field.

The Astaterian massive warship jumped into the rebel fleet and opened up its 70,000 blasters at the nearest rebel ships. Astaterian fighters numbered only 5,000, but they did the best they could against 20,000 rebel fighters. 1000 rebel ships were damaged and destroyed as the rebel battleships hit the flanks of the allied fleets.
