OOC: I need someone to roleplay as the now former government forces

People's Revolutionary Army of Esparada guerrilla camp: 8:00pm

IC: Jose Montez laid back in the weak chair. He looked around his tent, bear canvas completely surrounded him. The glowing light from the lamp in the far corner danced on them. The sound of war continued in the distance, artillery getting closer and closer with each explosion. Bursts of gunfire frquently shattered the otherwise calm silence of the tropical night.

Then the raid began.

The government at the time of this RP (about 4 or 5 years ago) is a capitalist compulsory consumerist state. Like many Latin American nations, Banana Republic politics is right up the Esparadan people's street. So the Socialist-Communists of the country go up in arms against the government. The revolution is well underway at the time of this RP, and the PRAE has become quite powerful, as it controls nearly half the nation and has the support of 85% of the population. There are no neutrals in this war. As there have been rioting between each side's supporters.

OOC: Not exactly, the government has been toppled but the PRAE is not in control of it. So at the time of this RP there is not government of Esparada.

OOC: So it's basically a Civil War, though I don't know who can I contact to help the revolutionaries as I can't just drop my troops there.

"So what's going on today?" Asked the Grand Chancellor to his secretary that had just received the last world updates in paper.

"We have a few small wars around the globe... but we may have one subject that could interest you." The secretary handed a folder over to the Chancellor. Over the top was stamped in bold red letters "Esparada".

The document laid out the basic ongoings of the war, but one flaming signal that would tray the Chancellor's main attention was the ethnicity. "Mestizo?" He scratched his large trimmed beard. "I want satellite pictures of the country and mobilize the 14th Gold Amphibious Division. Along with that I want the 14th Air Wing to become operational. Try to find a secure link to any socialists who may still be willing to fight or need shelter."

[Map, and reply from any Socialists, please.]

OOC: This is a history thread by the way. The Revolutionaries now control the country and it's much free... er. A Scandinavian Liberal Paradise to be exact.

I am working on a map, but it isn't finished yet. But it's similar to this:

http://www.opcode.eu.org/gry/jc/just_cause_map.png

The PRAE controls the northern half, the government controls the capital and the South.

To: The Terre Nationale Government
From: Pvt. Taliz of the PRAE

The government attacked days ago. We had 1000 men in the camp. Now it's just 20. We are under siege and in desperate need of supplies and reinforcements. General Montez told us that he sent us more ment yesterday but they heven't appeared and we're about to break. Help would be greatly honoured. We are located 20 klicks from the town of Doledos.

"Get the 19th Air Invasion Brigade to Doledos. Once the 19th procures the city, I want them to put pressure on the enemy's rear, if they aren't already drawn to fight the 19th inside the city." Chancellor ordered one of his generals to set up the response, they would be there within twelve hours. "The 14th Gold Division will attack the North Eastern most island, and the 14th Air Wing will provide air support for it. Move then 7th Air Wing to provide support for Doledos." He again ordered another two generals to do such, the 14th Gold Division would be making its landing within fourteen hours. "Dismissed, but prepare to come back here soon."

--

Sergeant 1st Class Jesus Mendez made his jump, followed by the nine men in his squad. Perhaps this would be the combat mission that would gain his unit Gold status. He hit ground outside the city, just like the rest of his men, and attached the bayonet to his AKM. "Corporal Penito, take Rodriguez and Fuetez and move up to the first buildings and clear them." The three men ran quickly ahead, "Everyone else on me, but keep a ten meter spread, keep eye contact with everyone else in the unit."

[What kind of defenses do you have on the beach? And about 5,000 men landed east of Doledos, what's the garrison for the city?]

OOC: The government has D-Dayesque heavy defences all along the southern coast. While in their few controlled territories in the North, they have little more than a few bunkers. The government garrison of Doledos is 6000 conscripted and mostly reluctant soldiers. They are most likely to side with you if they have the majority over the officers. But the soldiers attacking the camp are battle-hardened old timers and patriots. Guerrilla beach defences are much weaker.

IC:

Taliz picked up his E-47, peered over the mound of rubble and fired another burst at the approaching government soldiers. He detached the empty clip and stuck in a fresh one. He was about to fire again when a huge explosion knocked him back into a tent. Government soldiers poured over the palisaide and began to bayonet the few remaining guerrillas. Taliz picked himself up, pulled the pin off a grenade and threw it. Then he charged.

[Is there any foliage, structures or such that are just outside the city?]

The 7th Air Wing's commander decided early to help out the rebels instead of the men attacking the city, because he expected them to be well enough to take it on their own. A bombing run over the camp would probably kill both government and rebel troops, but many more government troops would be killed in the attack.

Outside of the city dozens of government troops opened fire on the three men that had been the first to go. Sergeant Mendez dropped his body to the ground "Kiss the dirt!" he yelled as his men, along with his whole unit followed his order. "Suppressing fire!" He opened up on the men inside the city, millions of round would be impacting the defends of the city within a minute, but as of now the defense of the city seemed to be lacking in the area that they were attacking and the commanders were deciding whether to charge into the city now and take advantage of the weak point, or if it was a trap.

--

Corporal Gorden "The G" Gonzales slowly got up from the water, it was night time so his movement, along with the twelve thousand others was concealed. A man behind him was carrying an RPG-29, the sites were already up. A tweet was heard and all the men got on their bellies and opened fire all over the area, waiting to draw out any defenders. All their guns had suppressors, but a small flash could still be seen, tracers were at the discretion of the user, and The G decided not to use them.

OOC: Yes. This is island is 80% jungle

IC:

Juan Mendoza had had enough. He threw his J-54 assault rifle to the ground and turned around. He calmly walked away from barricade of Doledos. Hugo Rodriguez, who had been fighting beside Juan, did the same. Soon, 50 government conscripts had left the defences.

---------------------------------------------

Taliz dropped to his knees. "Last....one....left...", he croaked.
The soldiers began to surround him, rifles at the ready. Taliz could bearly open his eyes to see his enemies. "So...tired...".

Then, a low thunder came from the east. Taliz looked up, as 5 unfimiliar jets roared over him. Explosions broke through the ranks of the soldiers, and Taliz, powered by adrenalin, bolted.

Twenty more aircraft from the 7th Wing passed, and the five that had originally made their run came around for a second, using their cannons for specific destruction of the unit.

"Charge!" Was heard over a mono phone, the men all raised up, still firing, and ran towards the city, the enemy didn't reply with much of an attack, and no one in Mendez's unit was even wounded. He fired from the hip while he was charging, waiting to atleast see one his men die gloriously.

---

The men at the bunkers in the North Eastern most island reply by spraying off into the beach, some cover was found and maybe on or two men were wounded unluckily. But now that the men had given away their positions National soldiers armed with RPG-29's fired one or two rounds into any bunkers they could find.

Taliz ran over the mound overlooking Doledos, and marvelled at the sight before him. Flares streaming up into the air and Terran soldiers firing into the emplacements. He then keeled over and passed out.
