Act of Succession Edited!
http://www.brooksbrothers.com/content/nav/images/mainimages/main409.jpg
Philippa Sainte-D'Aignaux becomes an honorary princess of the House of Parker as she sees her children, Charles and Marie, put into first and second place in the line of succession to the Anglian throne.
The Parliament of Anglia has announced that the Act of Succession (1867) has been edited in order to add newcomers to the line of succession to the throne of the Anglian realm. It has been decided that Charles Sainte-D'Aignaux shall be Queen Charlette VI's heir if she is unable to have any kids of her own or if she abdicates the throne; Charles would be followed by his sister Marie and then by the members of the other branches of Charlette's family such as the Williamite and Morcarian branches which descend from the siblings of Matthew Parker whose coronation as King Matthew I brought the House of Parker to power as Anglia's royal family. The marriage between King Adam and Queen Samantha ended not in annulment but in a divorce which, Parliament feels, permits the children of Philippa Sainte-D'Aignaux to be able to take the throne and become King Charles and/or Queen Marie.

The Birth of an Anglian Princess
http://images.askmen.com/galleries/actress/anne-hathaway/pictures/anne-hathaway-picture-6.jpg
Amanda Parker, the daughter of the Duke of Waterbury, speaks about her newborn child after giving birth to a healthy daughter with her husband, Hugh Arundel who is the heir to the Baron Waterbrook's estate.
Amanda Parker has often been known for her outgoing personality and her interest in techno music and tennis but she has recently given birth to her second child, Princess Margaret, in a hospital in Elizabethtown with her husband and entourage at her bed side. Amanda already had a son, Prince Amaury, with Hugh but she revealed her second pregnancy in an interview with the host of Good Morning Newcastle several months ago to the delight of her friends and family. She said that Hugh was always there to help her and that she is her "Prince Charming; a benevolent and chivalrous gentleman". Amanda had first met Hugh at an art gallery in Elizabethtown during which they hit it off with several dates before they married several months ago in the company of their friends and family who were happy to see them get married. One guest said that it was a fairytale marriage; that both of them had immense love for one another which, in her eyes, was admirable.
What makes Princess Margaret special in the eyes of many Anglians is that she is the one hundred millionth person to be born in the Queendom; and thus her name adorns an honorary plaque (celebrating this milestone) which is currently hanging in the mansion of the Arundel family. Margaret, like her older brother, was born as a healthy infant with good measurements and no health problems. Since the birth was officially announced on the news, many people such as Sir Edward Talbot (Grand Master of the Knights Templar), Queen Charlette VI of Anglia and average citizens have been sending gifts, best wishes and letters of support to the family on this prestigious occassion.

The 1st Beaumarchais Ministry is Formed!
http://cache.eb.com/eb/image?id=78658&rendTypeId=4
Percival Beaumarchais gives a passionate speech to the people of Elizabethtown. He recently became the Prime Minister of Anglia and has already formed the First Beaumarchais Ministry to run and control the Queendom of Anglia.
Percival Beaumarchais, the Duke of Oakfield has become the Prime Minister of Anglia after some deliberations took place in the confines of the House of Commons this week about forming a new government to govern alongside Queen Charlette VI. The Beaumarchais Ministry's list of members was officially revealed at a swearing-in ceremony at Newcastle's Parliament Buildings and was published in news reports for the people to see. According to it, one face in the Ministry is Anthony Thornton, a baronet who once served as Charlette VI's Regent and who recently married her Mistress of the Robes, Alice le Poitevin. He has been named the Foreign Minister and is expected to begin serving his nation soon. Percival Beaumarchais plans to maintain the status quo in Anglia; according to his platform he rejects involvement in foreign conflicts, supports better relations with the Norwich Islands, and supports maintaining the Monarchy. Percival's family credits Matthew Parker for bestowing the title of the Duke of Oakfield upon them; so it may be possible that Percival does this only out of thankful respect. Percival has often been vocal at Parliament sessions; often giving voice to the people as an ardent populist with conservative leanings and as the leader of the Nationalist Party; a party which has often been vocal in supporting Anglian culture and the like with its slogan "Anglia First!".
Despite Beaumarchais' cordial relationship with the Queen, it is expected that they may come to verbal battles at times especially if the Queen's veto of a bill goes through. After all, Anglian law does allow for the Queen to have certain powers which can influence Parliament overall.
The Official List of Members of the 1st Beaumarchais Ministry:

The National Museum of Art Gets New Paintings
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/AugustaofSaxeGotha.jpg
A painting of Queen Mirabel of Anglia (1719-1797) bought by the National Museum of Art. Mirabel was primarily known for her interest in rational thought, her love of classical music, and her correspondence with European scientists.
The National Museum of Art has purchased new paintings to place in its exhibits which include paintings of Queen Mirabel of Anglia and Sir George Castillon; made during the 1700s by the court painter Charles Digby who spent his entire life painting in the service of the Crown. The Museum has created the Digby Exhibit to showcase the paintings and many people are expected to come out and see them. According to the Museum's curators, the museum has recieved about forty paintings of people ranging from monarchs to members of the Royal Court & Household. Queen Charlette VI and others are expected to appear at the official unveiling of the Digby Exhibit next week. According to Anglian textbooks, Charles Digby was first hired by King James III of Anglia during the late 1600s to paint portraits of his children and, after King James saw the portraits, Charles was kept on as the Royal Painter and painted portraits until his death. Digby's wife, Felicia Digby maintained her husband's legacy by keeping the portraits he made in the confines of Digby Manor which has now become a historic site. Digby's children, a son and a daughter, have many descendants today who not only have continued their father's painting career but who have branched out into other fields such as science, politics and religion.

A Royal Fashion Statement

Mary Jane Parker is the Anglian princess who started her own fashion company; she is famous throughout the nation for her fashion designs and for the many customers that she serves.
Mary Jane Parker, the youngest child of the Duke of New York, recently visited the city of New London for a fashion show that showcased her company's new line of dresses for the upcoming summer season. She spoke about how she plans to release the new line in two weeks and hopes that a lot of people partake in wearing them. The customers of Mary Jane's company include wealthy commoners, aristocrats and nobles, and even her cousin, Queen Charlette VI; all of whom absolutely love the many dresses that Mary Jane's company makes every year.

Parliament At Work
http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/Pcommons.jpg
A 19th Century portrait of the House of Commons at work.
An un-named Member of Parliament announced his proposal of a bill that would allow for voters to select none of the above on their ballots during an election but the bill was swiftly defeated by Beaumarchais, who criticized the bill as being an "absurd document which does not need to be implemented" and that voters, if they dislike all the candidates, can simply "abstain and not waste their time."
The rejection of the bill comes along with Beaumarchais' Abortion Act of 2008 which allows for the use of abortions only if the mother has been raped or if her life is in such danger that an abortion would be needed. The Nationalist Party was opposed by the Liberals and the Conservatives; the former wanted full abortion while the Conservatives sought the illegalization of all abortion. Beaumarchais recieved royal assent from Queen Charlette VI on his Abortion Act and it has already been implemented nationwide. Beaumarchais is often seen as the middle ground between Conservatism and Liberalism; with his party depicted as the via media of Parliament.

The Immigrant Question
http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/665/illegalimgmay15gweb7su.jpg
Many Anglians are opposed to accomodating illegal immigrants and thus support measures to send them out of the nation.
In a session of Parliament, the Nationalist Party has stated that it will begin barring illegal immigrants from entering the nation by setting up border posts all around the nation and coastal posts to prevent illegal immigrants from using the sea to their advantage; this statement comes right after pro-immigrant protestors protested against such policies. Prime Minister Beaumarchais says that illegal immigrants will negatively affect the economy and that legal immigrants are more desirable in the long term. The Queen's opinion is currently unknown and she has not commented on the issue as of yet. Illegal immigrants have usually been forced out of Anglia by police forces; fueled by complaints from businessmen, workers and the like. The Nationalist Party's belief is that Anglians should be given the priority in work and thus illegal immigrants taking jobs would be unacceptable to them because of this doctrine. Other parties have mixed opinions; with the Conservatives leaning towards the Nationalist opinion while Liberals and others lean towards acceptance; although everyone has their own opinion on the issue and some may not believe in their party's stance. It is expected that the Immigration Act of 2006 will be edited with an article concerning illegal immigrants and possibly refugees as well.

Mocking God?
http://www.nationalcenter.org/uploaded_images/Warrenton-Baptist-Church-1-%5BCredit---Peyton-Knight%5D-728499.jpg
According to a Liberal Member of Parliament, God gave Man the power, under free will, to mock Him.
Queen Charlette VI has given royal assent to a bill that would permit the outright criticism of any religion by individuals and that such criticism was covered as freedom of speech. However, the bill only allows for verbal criticism and physical violence, etc against religious groups remains punishable by law. The author of the bill was a Liberal Member of Parliament who believed that freedom of speech was tied to free will; saying that God Himself gave people the right to poke fun at Him. The Nationalist Party supported the bill while independents and others condemned it. The Church of Anglia is neutral on the issue but Archbishop Guildersleeve does support the Liberal MP's belief that free will allows for the mocking of the divine. The bill is expected to become law in the next week or so.

The Nabimba Question
http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/12_03/HouseCommonsPA_468x278.jpg
Parliament erupts into debates over the question of whether or not to intervene in Nabimba.
Parliament erupted into a hotbed of debate recently over how the Queendom of Anglia should handle the chaotic turmoil which has spread like wildfire across Nabimba, a former colony of the Anglian nation. The Nationalist Party has declared that it only seeks to safeguard the lives and rights of all Anglians in the wartorn nation including the missionaries who have ventured deep into Nabimba but others advocate sending soldiers to forcefully reinforce the legitimate government. Percival Beaumarchais denounced the idea of sending soldiers into Anglia; saying that it is absurd that Anglian women should lose their husbands "because a few Nabimbans don't want to see peace and prosperity in their nation."
The Queen declared her hopes for a peaceful end to the conflict in Nabimba and appealed to the Parliament to make a sound decision concerning their approach to the conflict. If Anglians are to be safe, she said, then the Government must not alienate itself from those "in whom the power to end lives is entrusted." Popular opinion on the issue is mixed; with many citizens saying that soldiers should be sent to the idea that the government should only care about the Anglian people there by evacuating them before letting the "whole rotten structure come crashing down". Indeed, some Anglians stated they could care less about the whole conflict with one respondant to a survey joking that the Nabimbans "should have stayed as a colony."
Parliament is expected to continue deliberating as to what the Queendom's official stance on the conflict will be; noting the involvement of other nations in the whole issue. The Nationalists are expected to maintain their semi-non interventionist doctrine while the other parties may or may not end up supporting it. In the end, a vote will be held to decide the stance.

To Work or Not to Work
http://www.leithjb.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/43812.jpg
The Nationalist Party considers child labor to be a "repugnant practice" and has declared that it plans to reaffirm past decisions to make it outlawed.
The Nationalist Party has declared that it plans to outlaw (rather reaffirm it) child labor in all places which are deemed to be unsuitable for children to be working in which, though it sounds like a noble goal, has been met with a backlash from poor parents and factory owners who each have their own reasons for why the Nationalists must not succeed in their mission. Barbara Dering, a single mother of two daughters, says that she needs her daughters to work in a high paying job even if the conditions are not up to par with the governnment; she says that they need the money no matter what the cost while some factory owners do not wish to forsake "working cogs in our gears" which, if removed, would "damage our business and weaken the economy".
The Nationalist Party's leader, Percival Beaumarchais, has condemned the attacks upon his plans as nothing more than absurd claims which, he says, will not prevent him and his ministers from going through with the plans. The Queen, Charlette VI, has expressed her support for Percival's plan and states that children should "be making lemonade rather than mining for coal." The Child Labor Act of 2008 is expected to pass with royal assent in the coming days.

The Servants of God
http://www.execulink.com/~dtribe/blog/sarum2.jpg
The Church of Anglia is one of the major legacies of Anglia's Medieval history; it uses the Sarum Missal which was what the pre-Anglican Church of England used.
Archbishop Robert Guildersleeve has announced the addition of two new saints to the Church of Anglia's Calendar of Saints: Edgar Wagman, the legendary Anglian missionary of the 19th century and Angela Armstrong, a pious woman who led the crusade for women's education and rights during the days of Queen Isabella I (1829-1900). The additions were announced at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi in New London as part of Guildersleeve's self-proclaimed tour of churches and chapels all over the Anglian realm. The faithful have supported the canonizations of these two famous Anglian religious leaders with much joy especially in the ranks of the Armstrong Foundation which, founded in 1867, helps women all over the Anglian realm. Guildersleeve has been quite supportive of maintaining the role of saints in the Church of Anglia; saying:
"It is imperative that we always remember the saints, who, have devoted their lives to the service of God and His Word above all else....."

This Little Child of Mine
http://assets.madame.lefigaro.fr/images/photo_set_item/picture/000/039/203/5hum15/dia_vanessa1.jpg
Princess Elizabeth, one of the Queen's many cousins, married Prince Robert of the Second United Kingdom. Recently, the royal couple has had their first child amidst much joy and celebration.
The Queendom of Anglia is abuzz with celebrations all over the nation as news of the birth of Princess Violet, the first child of Robert and Elizabeth, spreads like wildfire across the realm with many people of all classes in society offering their best wishes to the newborn's health and to the lucky parents. Violet, born in the Second United Kingdom, seems to have no health problems according to the doctors and Queen Charlette VI has sent numerous gifts to her "beloved cousin" including an exquisite looking dress and a golden crib while the House of Commons and Lords offered their best wishes before starting their annual session. Percival Beaumarchais spoke at a session of Parliament about the birth:
"It's always a good day when a child is born; no matter who you are. Nobles and commoners alike share in that blessed moment."

Parliamentary Plans and Solemn Remembrances
Members of Parliament have thrown their support behind granting more funding to the military, banning arranged marriages and giving support to the "traditional definition" of marriage all with the support of Percival Beaumarchais and the Nationalist Party which has declared its support for such measures. In a veterans' parade in Royalton where Thomas Draper, the famous Earl of Hollywood known to soldiers for his goodhearted but ruthless nature, Queen Charlette VI urged Anglians to remember the "sacrifices of those brave and courageous men who died for freedom" on this year's Soldiers Day festivities which solemnly remember the sacrifices of the Anglian soldiers who fought in the Second Boer War, World War One and World War Two as members of the Anglian Expeditionary Force. At the Thomas Draper Monument in Royalton, soldiers of the Anglian Army held a moment of silence for their forefathers who died in the line of duty and for the man who had led them to numerous victories while being kind and courteous to his men; one soldier's journal said: "Good Old Tom would always ask us how our wives were; exhorting us in a jolly manner to remember them well. He was always serious but such seriousness was masked by a constant jovial expression." Thomas Draper's son, James Draper, would lead the Anglian Expeditionary Force into World War II with monuments being built in his honor after he returned home a victorious hero who, according to one veteran, "was as goodhearted, serious and ruthless as his father; all in all they were both good men."

The Royal Scandal
An unidentified worker at the Royal Court has announced that the Queen of Anglia was groped by a Lamonian by the name of Gerald Smythe to the dismay of the millions of Anglians who live in our beloved realm. Gerald Smythe recently spoke at a press conference in which he stated that he obtained Charlette's consent and that they have been secretly dating for about seven months. At the same conference, he also proposed marriage to the Queen; a proposal which she enthusiastically accepted. It is unknown as to when the wedding will take place but Parliament is expected to lean towards supporting the marriage plans of our dread sovereign lady. Many Anglians are split on the whole issue but it is said that the Queen will make her views known to all in due time.

A Geniocratic Anglia?
Self declared "intelligent patriots" have asked Her Majesty's Government to declare that only people of a certain IQ and over should be allowed to vote; thus making Anglia into some sort of geniocracy but their demands have been met with harsh rejection from all political parties in Parliament, the Queen of Anglia, and many citizens. Percival Beaumarchais announced: "The soldiers of Anglia did not die in the Second World War so that we, their descendants, may reverse their gains. I shall never allow the demands of the so called patriots to be realized." The Queen of Anglia, Charlette VI, also condemned the proposal by saying that: "The demands of these so called patriots are a repugnant disgrace in the eyes of those men and women who work daily to preserve political freedoms. All people have the right to vote." Citizens on the streets publically condemned the proposal saying that the whole idea was asinine and that: "It's a shame some Anglians want to make our beloved homeland into a hell hole."
Parliament has declared that they shall "firmly reject" the demands of these "intelligent patriots" and that it shall declare that all men and women are guaranteed the right to vote regardless of gender, social status and mental ability although not many mentally challenged, etc really vote anyway according to recent studies.
