The marital policies of the House of Schverzinski were usually centered on establishing ties to other royal and noble families through marriages of princes and their women. Often, such a marriage would establish an alliance between Ixania and the bride's nation of origin. After some negotiations with the Torrens family, it had been decided that Prince Constantine, a son of one of the many uncles of Empress Anastasia II, would marry Sarissa Torrens who had earlier been proposed as a wife for the President of Lamoni. The prospect of new blood was exciting to the patriarchs and matriarchs of the Imperial Family who fully supported the idea of marriage. Sitting in one of the seats of the private plane while reciting the words of his father in his mind, Prince Constantine Schverzinski looked at the picture he had of Sarissa. A thirty five year old gentleman with no wife, Constantine had never thought he'd be sent to cement an alliance with a nation he did not know much about by marrying one of their women. To him, the idea never came to his mind but he actually thought this Sarissa was quite pretty and perhaps, he thought, he'd like her. After all, wasn't that the only reason he was going to Breeders and Women in the first place?

Sarissa Torens stood watching the plane land. Unlike in the rest of breeders the Women, the region of Heim saw almost entirely arranged marriages, especially among the ruling class, and that was what was happening for he now. She was wearing a semiformal dress, standing on the tarmac with her retinue. As she watched the plane touch down, she saw her old father Tosov step forward to greet Prince Constantine as he stepped out of the airplane.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, sir."

Constantine bowed respectfully to Tosov before his eyes fell upon Sarissa. Studying his future wife briefly, he bowed respectfully and even kissed her hand before his head rose with a smile on his face. "It is an honor to look upon the fair damsel of Heim."

Constantine looked at Tosov and nodded his head. "Shall we take our leave?"

Sarissa's entourage and Constantine's entourage left to the Overlord's palace. Her brother Vas, Overlord of Heim, was out at the court of the superior ruling body of breeders and Women. They were semiautonomous, but they still owed allegiance.

They walked into the palace and sat down in a lounge. Tosov was chatting with the members of Constantine's entourage as refreshments were passed around. She motioned for Constantine to come over with her to a somewhat distant pair of chairs.

In fact, I was hoping to learn more about you since I will be walking down the aisle with you in the future; I find it important to know more about the woman I will spend my years with. "I already have some land, decent wealth, and a title." She hoped that he wasn't trying to buy her off. "Of course, i can't deny that Princess is a bigger title, but still..."

"I was just saying what you would get as a princess, Sarissa; I'm sure you would also be able to retain the land, wealth and title that you have now."

Constantine smiled. "I am here to marry you because of the plans of our two nations; however I am hopeful to know you a lot better than I do now. I'm not going to treat this marriage as an inconvience and basically ostracize you. I will make sure that I am there for you; because all husbands should honor their marital vows."

After a brief period of silence, Constantine smiled. "Perhaps you could tell me more about yourself, Sarissa. I am sure that some men would be jealous of me having such an attractive wife. I'm asking because I want to know more about you, Sarissa."

Constantine listened attentively to Sarissa's story. "Well, I was born thirty years ago or so to one of the uncles of Anastasia the Second; who currently reigns as the Ixanian Empress. I lived the life of wealth and luxury but I'm not a snob or anything. My life has been relatively good and peaceful with the occassional bad days."

"We would most likely live in my mansion in Ixania after we are married and you would just have to adjust to life in Ixania...but I'll be there to assist you in doing that. You would be more than welcome to visit Heim whenever you wish and I'd be interested in exploring Heim, as I've been fond of travel for some time."

"I am interested, Sarissa; after all I want to learn more about my soon to be wife and take part in her life. You would have to learn the Ixanian language but I can help you with that and, so you know, my own interests include music, art and literature. Sometimes I enjoy quiet walks down the trail near my mansion; don't you find the chirping of the birds to be something nice to listen to, Sarissa?"

Those are just some of the hobbies I have. At times I spend time with relatives such as my cousin, the Empress of Ixania. You should see our family reunions....everyone is all dressed up in the best clothes and we have one hell of a good time."

Constantine sighed. "Would you like to go horse riding today? I think it would be a nice activity for us to do together. Or, if you could, you could give me a tour of Heim or this area. It would be nice to see where you are from, Sarissa."

Constantine smiled as he mounted his horse. "I must say that it will be a pleasure to ride through the land of Heim with such a beautiful tour guide such as yourself, Sarissa. By the way, if I may ask, do you have plenty of admirers here?"

"I think that I may travel around the world for a while and see what it has to offer. However, if we are to marry, I would want to be there for you before I do and perhaps you could accompany me. As for a career, I think I could become a businessman. Just because I am royalty does not mean I won't work alongside commoners and the like. We are all mortals on this planet, Sarissa....no matter what our titles, etc are."

"I am not going to be the Emperor of Ixania; let alone the heir to the throne for quite some time as there are plenty of people ahead to me. However, I can still expect to get titles, wealth and land but I don't mind not being Emperor. After all, I know that there are capable people who will do well."

As Constantine prepared for dinner, he thought about Sarissa. He felt that she was a nice and attractive woman and he liked her; he hoped that this relationship would work out so that they could have a happy, strong and fruitful marriage.

As venison and fresh bread were being served, along with large servings of beer for the man and wine for the women, Tosov turned to Constantine, who was siting next to him.

"I think that your land has plenty of natural beauty while your daughter has plenty of beauty and charm; I look forward to getting to know more of both of them in the future."

"And you're certainly correct," Tosov replied. "Are you read for the wedding tomorrow?"

"Yes, I am ready for it. I have spent time preparing for it, sir. I am ready to settle down with Sarissa and hopefully, if things work out, start a family and hopefully our marriage will be strong and fruitful."

He certainly wanted grandchildren, and he knew Sarissa wanted children. he was more interested in the amount.

As Constantine put his night clothes on over his muscular and toned body, he could only think about Sarissa as he knew that the next day would see him marrying her at the wedding. A part of him felt like seeing her at night but he assumed that they would wait until the honeymoon to pursue any carnal activities together. Constantine got into his bed and just looked up at the ceiling while thinking about Sarissa. He was attracted to her and felt that she would be a good wife for him and he was happy to be here...happy to know that Tosov accepted him and hopefully, he thought, Sarissa had accepted him.

Constantine grinned slightly. "I would love to spend the night with you; for you are the fair damsel of Heim."

Constantine grinned as he studied Sarissa; being able to see everything through her dress. He admitted to himself that he enjoyed looking at her naked body; since he noticed she was not wearing any undergarments. He was not into treating women as sex objects but he did not mind admiring a woman when he felt like it. "I must say that it will be a pleasure to see more of your body. Perhaps you would like to see mine?"

A few hours later, Sarissa finally moved away from him.

She put on her dress and her coat above that and quietly left.

"Sleep well," she called back to him as she closed the door and headed to her room. She needed to be rested for today's events.

As he slept quietly, he dreamt about Sarissa and hoped that the marriage would last for many years. It seemed to him that he had found his soulmate.

Constantine smiled; he was happy to know that he secured both Tosov's and Sarissa's acceptance. For the wedding he donned the best tuxedo he had brought with him from Ixania and, at 1:45 PM, walked through the halls of the palace to find Sarissa. He was anxious to see her and was eager to be with her; and he imagined how the day and night with her would be.
