OOC: Consider this occuring independently from the war in Haven, either after or before. Hail fluid time.

Liberty Lane was wiped clean, and traffic was shut down for all of its incredible length. Already in the early morning, citizens in colorful clothing – and some, without any clothing at all – arrayed themselves on the sidewalks, on the roofs of nearby homes, and even aboard tourist zeppelins rented especially for the event.

Schools took a day off, and some people are already embarking on the important journey to drinking themselves blind. For today was April 19th, the Allanean Independence Day. And the most important even of the day was, of course, the Parade in Liberty-City – to commemorate the day on which, far off in Northern Haven, Allanea was founded.

On the place of the Founding, Port-Allanea was built – the second city in importance in Allanea, with a population of 120 million people, stretching miles and miles in every direction. There, a giant Museum of Independence would be open, and parades staged – but it would be nothing like Liberty-City.

Already, nuclear-drive trains were slowing down by the Taggart Terminal in Liberty-City, and the troops marching through the Terminal, their step timed perfectly, their black uniforms without a faul, their bayonets like ten-inch mirrors.

And already the dignitaries were arrayed on the steps of the gigantic Congress building – captains of industry, Senators, and even the President for Life himself. He was dressed in his military uniform today, each shoulder board glinting with the twin diamond-and-mithril stars of a Fieldmarshal.

And crawling on the middle of the 16-lane street was an open-topped staff car. Standing in the car was Shiunji Watanabe, Marshal of Allanea.

The announcer's voice was calm and emotionless as he began. “In the staff car stands Marshal Shiunji Watanabe. He will command the parade today...”

Shiunji's hand rose to the brim of his broad-brimmed black Stetson as he spoke – nay, shouted - “Fieldmarshal! The Armies of Allanea are prepared to be paraded before the Congress and the People, SIR!”

“Marshal Watanabe! Proceed with the Parade!”

“Yes, Sir!”

And so they went. First marched the Fieldmarshal's Own Assault Batallion – the most elite assault troops in Allanea, honored with accompanying Alexander Kazansky himself to battle. Then went the First Furry Airborne Division, bayonets glinting in the sunlight. Their divisional banner flew high and proud, stitched with gold on red, with silver, blue, and emerald-green denoting the many awards of the division. If you ever felt the need to laugh at members of this particular subculture, you would stop laughing when you met the FAD on the field of battle. And the announcer was still speaking.

“...the division is famous for it's victories over the Antajylians, the Kravenites, and other enemy forces...”

There were others, too – the Douglas Haig Mechanized Infantry, who have repelled the Questarian offensive in the NATO-Questarian war, the Allanean Marines, who had fought Edolians and Saint-Fabianites alike.

Of course, there were vehicles, too – men cheered as the Ayn Rand First Armored Division rolled by with its Nakil 1A3's and Samson, followed by the Navy's SHBT's – the USS Linus Torvalds, decorated with kill marks for Reichite and Questarian tanks aplenty, the USS Culdalot and USS Goldwater following after. There were towed cannon, MRLS units, and even three mobile NPGs. There was even a single Peaceful Engineering Unit – the famous Susie, of course, with her new Mark XXX frame.

And there were the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. While in general, these organizations existed mostly for paramilitary training for the young, in war, they sometimes assisted the armed forces and scored awesome victories. The surrender of units of the Knootian Air Force was remembered, as well as the death of thousands of Doomani during the African War. The fact the Girl Scout uniform included a moderately-short skirt increased their popularity.

And finally there was the Stellar Navy. Sailing slowly overhead – far enough they did not in fact blot out the sun – went the giant battleplates and warships of the USSN, decorated with recent victories on the Federation Front (though Federation prisoners were not on show this time).

These and others went by, saluting the people on the steps of Congress, and then turning around, to go once more past the crowds – and finally disappear.

The rest of the day is full of parties, concerts, and various events usual for such celebrations. Alexander Kazansky himself gives a charity performance in front of 130,000 students from Concord University, and in the evening, there are, of course, fireworks launched by the Navy, Air Force, and USSN – everything from conventional signal flares to nuclear fireworks in low orbit.
