Johnson Donaldson Power Station, a Division of Höfn Electric
6:48 PM, 4/18/08

Jordan Stevens sat alone in the control room, watching his control panel, with a cup of coffee in his hand, as he did every night. He noted that power usage was rather high, but is was a cold night, and he didn't think much of it. Moments later, a light began flashing on his control panel. A transformer had blown, but the system was already re-routing power around the failed transformer. Seconds later, another transformer blew, from the strain from the high energy demand, and the overflow from the other blown transformer. Again the system re-routed the flow of power around the problem area. Seconds later, other parts of the gird was failing. Before Jordan had time to react, half of his board, with lights indicating normal operation of the power grid, was dark, and failures were cascading across the board. Finally, the system realized that the station was generating to much power, and it would soon damage the generators, and therefore shutdown the generators, forcing any the neighboring power stations to pick up the slack, therein pushing the transmission lines from those stations to the limits, causing them to fail, and the power failure spread. By the time Jordan had reached the phone to call his superiors, 1/4 of the nation's power grid had failed.

Edwardo Listless Power Station, City of the Blessed,
6:51 PM 4/18/08

Harvey was Jordan's counterpart at the Edwardo Listless Power Station, just outside the City of the Blessed. Two minutes after the failure started in Höfn, it had reached him. He overrode the system failsafes, attempting to keep the station, going, but all he succeeded in doing was keep the power going for a few minutes more, before the grid broke under the strain. Also as he had disable the computer failsafes, the system never shut the generators down, causing extensive damages to them. In all, 80% of the Beatus was rendered powerless.

(OOC: any of you with embassies in the Beatus, they just lost power, anyone with tourists visiting the Beatus, they're hotels just lost power. There will soon be rioting, looting, and they may attempt to raid and loot your embassies too. If you wish to send a message to the government, the lines of communication are still open, thanks to emergency generators. You may also RP your reporters, news people, etc. covering the looting, rioting, etc. Just have fun with it!)

Ambassador Robert Chapman of the Holy Empire of Anselmus looked up from the memo he was reading as the room went dark. Almost instantaneously, a trooper of the 2nd Dragoons, part of the embassy guard, burst in the office door without knocking. His H&K pistol drawn, the man stared around the room, making out the ambassador in the light from Chapman's laptop.

"Sir, are you alright?"

Chapman nodded and replied, "Yes, quite fine, Corporal. Is there a problem?"

"We seemed to have lost power, sir. I don't know what's wrong yet."

The soldier's radio then crackled to life. "Goalkeeper, Control, over."

"This is Goalkeeper," the corporal replied. "Go ahead."

"The main power grid has been shut down. The entire country is without power. We should have the generator up shortly. Until then, we're stepping up to full readiness. You'll be joined soon by another handful of soldiers. Keep the ambassador away from the windows and night vision on. Oh, and one of the boys coming to reinforce you will have your rifle. Over."

"Roger that, sir. Eyes open."

Ollie Kolev, the HOB ambassador to Beatus, at in his living room enjoying a post dinner beverage and reading 'A Boothian Guide to Field and Stream,' as the embassy's generator hummed dully.

How rustic, He thought as he finished the chapter on hunting dog training. Putting down his book, he looked up at the ancient shotgun that was mounted above his fire place, and longed to be back in his homeland.

Patting his faithful deer hound, 'Lieutenant,' on the head, he reached for his pipe, packed it with an Eric Nording blend and puffed away. Little by little Kolev's shoulders slumped, until he finally drifted off in his arm chair.

Elaine White was having an uneventful night, just like every other she had while fulfilling her duty as ambassador to the Beatus. Her job, so far had been an easy one. In fact, she was reading by the fire, feet on a stool, much like she did every other night.

She had actually began to nod asleep when suddenly, she noticed through the large glass window of the room, that all of the street lights, and the lights of all of the other buildings had gone out. She rose, walking to a nearby light switch and tried turning it on.

Nothing

She wasn't sure what had happened, but it appeared the city was experiencing a power outage.

THUD!!!

Elaine jumped and nearly tripped over the stool into the fire. The door to her room had abruptly been thrown open and standing in the frame was a large man, clad in an Orbathian military uniform, clutching his Yanitarian made AY-143 assault rifle, flashlight turned on.

''Ma'am, its Warrant Officer Matthews, I've checked in with our embassy security officer, he says he spoke with the government, power is out over at least 50% of Beatus.''

''Jesus Christ you scared me half to death. The power's out, so what?''

''We have concerns about what may happen should this last long term, we are rounding up embassy staff and taking them to a safe room for easier protection.''

''I don't think that is necessary, it'll probably come back on in a few minutes.''

''Ma'am, its not looking likely, I need you to come with me, now.''

Elaine complied. Technically, he was in command of her, not the other way around. Besides, if shit hit the fan, she knew Matthews was a good guy to have around.

She grabbed her laptop and followed Mathews to the ''safe room.''

She stepped into to a room, bathed in light by the emergency generators. Sitting inside were all of the staff members of the embassy. It wasn't really a ''safe room'' , just an office in the middle of the building.

She opened her laptop and began typing a message to the government.

To - Beatus Government
From - Elaine White (Ambassador)
I have been informed that a large portion of Beatus has lost power. I need to know why and whether this poses a security risk to me or my embassy. If assistance is required, contact the Orbathian government head office.

8:20PM Embassador Ian Jobson, of the URPY, telephoned his counterpart in the Boothbian Embassy with his personal cell phone.

The Yanitarian IGF soldiers had taken out their rifles, and positioned themselves at strategic points. One of them defended the court yard in an SLT-31A Chevalier. On the roof, two of them stood on opposite corners, touting their AY-143s. Inside, two marines patrolled the halls. The embassy staff had been issued their PY-57 pistols.

Ian had been lucky enough to own an old rifle, and RY-2 bolt action, which he often used while hunting. It leaned against his desk as the cell phone rang.

OOC: Boothby, I assume your ambassador owns a cell phone, and that the ambassadors would have each other's personal numbers.

The Stoklomolvi ambassador to The Beatus, Anton Aleksandrov, was sitting in his large "comfy chair" next to a "roaring fire" looking through a photo album when suddenly every light in the building turned off and turned back on.

"Hmph. Nobody expects that kind of Spanish Inquisition."

Suddenly, three red-robed inquisitors burst into the room.

"NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION! Our weapons are surprise. Surprise, determination, and pretty red unifo- never mind. Come again."

They left the room. The ambassador shook his head.

"Nobody expects that kind of Spanish Inquisition."

Three red-uniformed military men stepped into the room.

"Sir. We have reports that power has gone out in the entirety of the Beatus."

"Really?"

"Correct. Our embassy is powered by the fusion generator located within the embassy itself. We have enough hydrogen to last us the next five years."

"Great! Now leave me to my photograph album."

"Yes, sir. Right away, sir."

The military men left the room. The ambassador continued looking through military photographs of the Beatus, completely black as a result of the lack of electricity.

"Begun, the loot war has."

Venner Incorporated
17-04-2008, 06:38
[OOC: I'm sure embassies would have satellite phones as well.]

James Fiske, Vice-President of Venner Incorporated, Beatus Branch, was tired. After a long day of work and with the monthly meeting of the National Branch Directors less than a week away, all he wanted was to get some sleep. His counterpart working for Kane, VP Steven French, had clocked out about an hour ago.

Thankfully when Gesford had commissioned his corporation and TKC to operate as representatives for Gesford's interests abroad, they had not scrimped on costs. The Joint Commerce Compounds (JCCs) for all of Venner's and Kane's operations that had sprung up in the financial centers of the world were fully self-sufficient: Each one provided all of the living space needed for employees and their families, a backup Static generator for power needs, a satellite uplink straight to any similar compound, a well-trained and equipped security force, and all the political and diplomatic status of any nation's embassy. The only difference being that JCCs, being mostly financially concerned, were generally placed in financial centers of cities, rather than political centers. After all, where better to conduct business?

Packing his briefcase, Fiske looked out the windows at the sparkling skyline and took a deep breath. I love this job.

The city was plunged into darkness.

Fiske, now unable to see, groped around in the darkness for a light. The Static generator in the foundation of the compound kicked in, flooding the room with light and leaving Fiske rubbing his eyes foolishly. He pushed a button on his desk, and the stern face of John Tavish, Chief Security Officer of the compound.

"John, what s going on?"

"Sir, the city seems to have lost power. No breaches in perimeter security have been registered, so I have no reason to believe we are under any threat. However, I have taken the precaution to station sections 1 through 5 at the critical points."

"Good. Try to raise the government and find out what's going on. Update me if you learn anything."

Fiske pushed another button. Tavish vanished and was replaced by Neil Dunlop, Chief Maintenance Officer of the compound.

"Neil, how is the generator holding up?"

"We're holding at 53% capacity sir, if you need more we can spin it up to full."

"Negative for now. If we need more, it will be to sell to the Beatus, I'll keep you posted."

"Roger."

Fiske closed the channel and sat down. Now we wait.

"Holdin' up alright. I don't suppose the light have gone off over there? Could be dangerous. We ought to pool our defenses.

"Our embassy over here has metal gates over the windows, and our entrances have metal games like at the mall. You've seen them before, right? Well, I figure we could all pull back to your embassy, and hold down the fort there.

"Besides, if these rioters take anything, I am sure the insurance companies will just end up suing them for damages. Whadd'ya say? I have a bottle of Vin Épicé Oriental that needs drinking."

Then, all the power went out and his computer shut down.

"Noooo!!!" Yelled the Aissurian Ambassador. Two Guards rushed in imediatly.

"What's wrong?" Asked one of the Guards.

"My long ass history of The Beatus was compleatly erased with this blasted black out!" Said the Ambassador as he banged his head on the desk.

Just then, the Emergency Generator kicked in.

"Close the Gate!" Shouted a Guard.

"Roger." Said another as he hit a button. The Gate then closed.

"I want Guards on patrol all the time." Said the Ambassador.

"Some Rioters will probably come to steal my lucky charms. Which just happen to be worth a total of 1 million dollars. I love Diamonds." He said as he twisted his diamond Luck Charms dangling from his necklace.

Kolev considered Jobson's offer...Épicé Oriental...What was a little power outage?

"Rioters? Do you think it is really all that bad? My chief of security never said anything about that... but anyways, I will be over within the half hour..."

When the conversation was over Kolev searched for his car keys, his driver had gone home earlier. Finding them he proceeded to gather the rest of his supplies: a S&W-22, Coach Rifle, and bottle of Moysons.

The ambassador proceeded to load his 7-series and peeled out of the HOB compound.

City of the Blessed, Metro Police Precinct 16, the Embassy District
8:30 PM

All officers had been called into work. The Precinct Captain stood in the garage, giving a speech to the forces, before they went out on the street to do they're job. "Now, we do not have radios for all of you, but with your uniform, you were given a whistle, and in training, you were taught how to use it to communicate, so I suggest you go find it. Your job will be to enforce the law, and ensure the safety of all those who reside in this Precinct. Now, I know I don't need to remind you that a bulk of the foreign embassies are in this precinct, and those will be one of our primary targets, as will the shelter that is being set up down on 3rd. I want you all out they're on patrol with all of your lights on, and remember we are here to help people who are attempting to get to the shelters get there, and ensure that people and property are protected. Those of you who normally work desk duty will be assigned an intersection, and gas lanterns to illuminate that intersection. You will need to think back to your training, when you learned to direct traffic, as you will be the ones doing the most, ensuring that those attempting to find a warm, well lit place, can get there, with out incident. Now, make sure that you all have your weapons loaded, and that the safeties are off, because once you go out into that darkness out there, things can get bad, and they can get bad fast. Now, move out," the Precinct Captain said, finishing off his speech. Within seconds, squad cars, and suvs were streaming out of the garage lights flashing, followed by those one Segways, also with they're lights flashing, and finally the foot patrols.

Meanwhile...
Eddy's Pub

The regulars sat around, drinking by candlelight, when one of them said, "Hey, you know what I just realized, if the powers out, all them stores out there, they ain't got no alarm systems, we should so totally go looting!" The rest of the crowd started cheering, and the bartender started passing out bottles of booze, as the regulars streamed out of the bar, forming a mob. They're first stop was William's Firearms Emporium, next door to Eddy's Pub, but they where met at the door by William, holding a FN P-90 SMG. The mob decided that they couldn't go looting without guns, so they pooled they're money, and they purchased as many as they could. Now they were ready, they had the guns, they had the booze, and they were heading for the Embassy district.

Outside the Boothby Embassy Compound

Moments after the Boothby Ambassadors Limo sped out of the embassy, it was spotted by Officer Joe Corrie. He maneuvered his segway into the street in front of the limo, his blue light flashing in the night darkness. The then focused his spotlight on the limo, and waited for it to slow down. "Diplomatic plates, or no diplomatic plates," he thought, "that guy's going way to fast, and when they cross the line into endangering the public, it's our job to stop them." He sat there, in the middle of the street, as the limo approached.

A telex was flashed to all embassies within the Beatus, over the secure line that had been installed in all embassy buildings, which drew it's power from it's own generators, so it would continue to function in exactly this type of situation, it read as follows,

To all Embassies within the Beatus,

This is an automated emergency broadcast via the Beatusian Emergency Telex Network. Do not attempt to reply to this message. There is no reason to fear. The situation is most likely going to be resolved soon. There is no need to panic. Do not panic. There is little to no chance that you or your staff are in danger. Please listen to all Beatusian authorities, to ensure the safety of both you, them, and the rest of the population. If you are receiving this message it does mean that there has been a serious event effecting much of the nation, and there is no one currently available to send you an actual message on the situation. In the event that you have, or are going to send a message to the Beatusian government on the current situation, we are sure that you will get a response as soon as is humanly possible. Thank you, and bare with us in these difficult times.

The ambassador was startled by the message. He called for security. Three red-uniformed cardinals- erm, security guards, appeared.

"NOBODY EXPECTS THE-"

"Shush! Move the fusion generator inside, and jam the gate leading into the embassy."

"Yes, sir. Right away, sir."

The guards walked out, red robes floating about.

"Get that thing out of my face!"

The guards tumbled about in the hallway before disappearing from view. The ambassador shook his head and looked out the second-storey window. Below, there appeared to be a large crowd gathering from what he could see from the light of his embassy shining below. His eyes widened as he saw the silhouettes of firearms in the distance. Instantly, his hand darted for the emergency lockdown button, and the instant he pressed it a massive, solid, 20mm steel gate closed in front of all the windows on the second floor. On the first floor, 30mm gates shut in front of the windows. The guards outside quickly moved all of the electrical equipment into the shed, and locked the building down before moving to the embassy gate and electrically locking and jamming it. They ran back inside and locked that door as well. The only window open was that of the second floor overlooking the courtyard, and the window was 50 cm wide.

Pte William Bud stood, ever vigilant inside the guard tower which was actually part of the embassy compound wall. It rose roughly nine feet higher and required a person to climb a ladder from the compound wall.

Bud was in charge of several things. In an emergency at night, he would man a spotlight. Seeing as the power was out, he couldn't really do that. He was also one of many in charge of ensuring that the embassy walls were not breached. His trusty AY-143 rifle helped him do that job.

With the recent situation, the embassy had been brought to high alert. The compound was on full lock down. All guards had been brought to active status (in other words, woken).

He surveyed a long street which his tower overlooked. In the distance he could hear many voices, screaming, chanting and yelling. Every now and then he could hear the smashing of glass, likely an empty booze bottle. He couldn't see much, so he was relying on his other senses.

Fiske listened to the automated message calmly. When it finished he spoke to Steven French, VP of TKC, Beatus Branch.

"What's the word from downstairs?"

French scratched his head bemusedly. "Generator's still running well, and security reports sighting mobs in the region of the embassy district. Armed mobs."

Fiske didn't like the sound of that. "Looters. The worst." He pushed a button on the desk, and Tavish reappeared on the screen, now dressed in fatigues and ballistic armor.

"Jack, I want you to repel any and all violent incursions into the compound with as much force as you deem fit. All this belongs to either Venner Incorporated or The Kane Corporation and we'll not have it damaged or appropriated. "

"Roger." Tavish vanished as Fiske closed the channel.

Meanwhile, French had crossed the room and entered his own office, identical to Fiske's save for the large corporate logo on the wall. He pushed some buttons on the desk, and the jolly, round face of Jerry Dufresne, the Chief Communications Officer, appeared on the screen in front of him.

"Jerry, see if you can find a way to get in touch with anyone in the Beatus government. We may be able to sell them some power."

"Sure thing boss!" Dufresne's face disappeared as Fiske walked into the room. He grunted with disapproval. "Bloody looters."

"They won't get in here, Jim."

"I know, its just the whole reckless mob mentality. What's to say we couldn't behave in that manner, given the right circumstances?"

"We could. But we choose not to, because we value the sanctity of our own minds."

"Thanks, but spare me the speech."

Street Outside the HOB Embassy

Officer Joe Corrie got off his Segway, and walked over to the limo, his flashlight in his hand. When he got to the car, he motioned to the driver to roll down his window. When he did, Joe said, "You pulled out of that gate awful fast, sir. Due to the current situation, we really can't have people speeding around like that, someone's going to get hurt, and we don't want that, now do we?"

Outside the Orbath Embassy

As the mob approched the embassy, they lit torches. They were now over 100 strong, most armed with rifles, or shot guns, but others had axes, machetes, and bayonets. When they neared the embassy, they began throwing objects at the guards on the walls. In the beginning it was rocks, crumpled up pieces of paper, tomatoes, but soon it devolved into bottles, and bricks. Finally, the violence bubbled over as someone threw a Molotov Cocktail over the wall, into the Orbath Embassy compound. With in seconds other began fallowing suit.

Bud ducked, using the half wall and the sandbags of the tower to shield himself from the variety of objects thrown. The embassy only had a staff of eight and he knew they were no match for the group of at least one hundred outside the compound.

Without warning, a flaming bottle wizzed over the wall, smashing onto the driveway and sending flames dancing along the pavement, onto a nearby tree.

He got on his radio and radioed his commander, who was sitting in the embassy's security center.

''Sir, we have roughly one hundred outside the walls, armed with firearms, melee weapons and explosives. Requesting permission to use hostile force.''

The commander was locked deep in thought, yet he made sure to reply quickly.

''Negative, if you fire, that will probably set them off. I've got someone bringing out shields and tear gas. We are sending a message to nearby embassies, then pulling out.''

He turned to a satellite phone and a chart on the wall. He began dialing the numbers of all NU nations' embassies in Beatus. He wasn't sure if they had helicopters for evacuation, but he had some room if they needed it.

Meanwhile, the remaining guard within the embassy guided the staff through the dark corridors and up a flight of stairs. They were heading to the landing before the door which lead to the roof, and a fully fueled, ready to go, Doomani made Bellicus helicopter.

Dwi Wijaya rushed into the hotel room, along with the rest of his gang, guns blazing. He planned to steal anything and everything at this grand oppertunity. A truck was parked on the street, and guards were placed, so no one could come in while the gang was. There were about 30 gangsters in all, most of them of Indonesian Decent. They wore red and white headbands around their heads, and most of them were armed with AK-47's. A few had shotguns or even an AY-142.

"All of you, stop!", Wijaya said with a heavy-Indonesian accent, "Just give us every single damn thing with value, and we will go away." He turned his head to the Professor, "And no calls to the police, eh?"

Dwi shot his pistol and screams from the College group came. Professor Carantelli fell in a pool of blood, unmoving. "Was the call made? It was? No, Damn it! The police are coming. We better hurry." Wijaya paused, as did the rest of the gang." What the hell you waitin' for? Get moving!"

"Captain," started a voice as he entered the bridge of the frigate. "We've picked up reports of attacks on the docks nearby sir,"

The captain looked out to the darken city they were passing by. He nodded his head to his lieutenant as he turned to the bridge crew.

"Hmmm...," started the captain. "The city has lost power and maybe the nation itself. We don't have anything to do with this country but i feel we need to do something,"

The captain watched from his window of the bridge wondering what to do. He watched the city as a few fires started to appear.

"Lieutenant," shouted the captain. "Order the ships to form protection formation around the transport ship."

The lieutenant nodded his head as the captain got to the phone to the transport ship.

"This is Captain Thomas to the Darken, I want the 15th Lynion Hunter Battalion ready to move to shore. Your orders are to secure a landing zone then move into the city and find anyone in need of help. Arm each Lynion with the new L-36 with the night vision goggles. No-one is to have a light on but one attach to their rifles," started the captain. "Shot to kill is the order if threaten. For any reason, do not kill ambassador's from other nations. Secure the ambassador's and if they require it, return them to our ships,"

The lieutenant was trying to wire a telegram to the nation identifing them as Lynion Hunters. The captain gave him the order to forget it because the telegram system would depend on power.

The captian turned to the boats being lunached from the transport ship as more fires appeared in the city.

'200 Lynion Hunters against a crazy city of looters. What are they coming too?' he thought to himself.

A few students ran towards Professor Carantelli, and checked if he was alive. "You killed him!" yelled one.

"Quiet, Isabella. You don't want to get killed, do you?" Constantino said. He then turned his attention to the gang leader, Dwi Wijaya. "Umm...sir, take what you want, just don't kill us, please. In fact, we will pay you if you get us to safety. How about it? We won't tell the police about you, I promise."

Wijaya thought for a moment, and started to reply. However, he was stopped by one of his fellow gang members. "Let's do it. It looks like these Castellians got alot of money. That place's loaded, after all." Wijaya shook his head in disagreement. "If we bring them to a police station, the cops will see us. I'm not taking the risk."

"We will be rich, man! Just think about it."

"Ok, ok, you win. You, kid, I accept. Help me get the loot in the truck, and we will escort you to the San Castellan embassy."

They took the pictures from the walls, the golden lamps from the tables, and the tables themselves. Filling their large bags with riches, they procedded to the truck outside, when Wijaya noticed a rival gang kidnapping a mother and her child.

"The hell you doin'? You don't hurt women or children, that's just messed up you bastard!" Wijaya then raised his AK...

Captain Max lead the Hunter's onto the beach quietly as the boats started to return to the transport ship. He made a few hand signals to his platoon as they cleared the beachhead.

"Rest of you, stick in platoon's number's of two platoon's. Don't be seperated from your platoon at any time. If you do get seperated, return back to the beachhead,"

He looked around hoping to find an embassy for comfort. Jaxson pointed towards what seem to be a embassy building of some kind. Jaxson could tell there were looters nearby and this called for action. Officer Corrie returned to his Segway, and headed towards the Yanitarian Embassy pushing the Segway to it's top speed of 15 mph. The he heard it. Chanting in the distance.

"Valde Bob est adveho! Qui es immunda ero purgo!" was the chant, over and over again. It was getting louder. Moments later, Officer Corrie spotted something ahead. They had gas lanterns fashioned on poles, and were dressed in white robes. Two in the front carried flags baring the markings of the Great Bob. They were marching, the width of the street, form wall to wall, toward Officer Corrie, and the HOB limo. Officer Corrie stopped his Segway. To the Seigur.

This is the Captain of the Lander of Lynion replying to your message. The ships will alter course now. We do not wish to intend any conflict with the Beatusian People. Do you wish for our Hunter's to leave your city? Our Hunter's are only being sent in to secure anyone who requires help with the looters and the riot mops. We do not intend to cause any conflict with anyone.

End Message.

The captain looked around the bridge and ordered the warships to alter course.

"Lieutenant, tell me when we are out of Beatusian Waters and keep communications open to our boys in the city. We may need to get them out of there," ordered the captain. "Change orders for the men to only defend themselves on the ground,"

"Yes Captain," replied the Lieutenant.

At the beachhead

The lieutenant left to guard the beachhead looked up the the roar of a pair of helicopters swooping down on them. He watched the helicopters buzz around the Lynions while the lights were turned off. He rushed over to the radio operator and looked back up at helicopters shinning their lights at them.

"This is a friendly force of Lynion Hunters," started the lieutenant. "We've being sent to see if there was anything we could do. We do not, I repeat, we do not intend for any conflict with the Beatusian People. We were just passing by when we saw the city lose power. We do not intend to loot but to secure part of the beachhead and anyone who requires help to leave or go to a place of safety on our warships. If you want us to leave, then say so and we will leave in a peaceful mannar,"

The lieutenant waited for a reply praying they wouldn't fire on them. He watched the helicopters and stood by the radio operator as the Lynion's took up position in the buildings and waited. They didn't wanted to get involved in a conflict and just hope they would be required.

Kolev crawled along behind the officer, then without warning the segway started to slow even more, finally stopping.

'What is this asshole doing,' the Boothian thought to himself.

He was about to pull up to the officer to ask him what the hell was going on when something caught his eye. A harsh light ahead of them in the street. Not a car headlight, it was to crude an illumination. He squinted forwards flicking on his high beams.

"Oh shit...." The words escaped from the ambassador's lips as the scene unfolded before him. What he saw was this: there were many men, they were clad in erie white robes, and were carrying poles which held the lights he had seen. The men were marching, they were coming straight at his car, and showed no sign of slowing.

Kolev saw the officer turn to look back at the car. His face was awash with fear. Kolev panicked, he started honking his horn and rolled down his window leaning half way out and motioned for the officer to run.

Back inside the car Kovel fumbled to unlock the doors for the officer, shifted into reverse, and waited anxiously.

Kolev's thoughts were already way ahead of the officer. Once the man was in the car he floored the gas peddle, looking over his shoulder as he maneuvered back down the street.

"Close the door and lock it!"

Kovel brought the car around a corned and kept the wheel turned maneuvering nearly 270 degrees, put the car in drive, and sped forwards.

"Who the hell were those people?" Kolev asked checking in the review mirror. The HOB embassy was close now, and Kovel was praying that the guard at the gate hadn't fallen asleep. He started to honk his horn while the car was still half a block away from the embassy. If the guard had been asleep, he wasn't anymore. He opened the gate and Kolev pulled into the gravel drive outside the main building.

He continued, "It was also written, that one day, the Great Bob would extinguish that light, and that it would be a sign. So it was written, so it hath come." The rest repeated him, "So it was written, so it hath come." There, the ambassador and his staff, plus two of the marines were waiting on the roof. One of the staffers took the copilot seat, as he had rudimentary training in helicopter flight

The marines in the vehicle set a grenade in the seat of the Chevalier, and tied a string from the grenade to the door of the vehicle. Fiske looked at the map Tavish had placed on the desk. It was a layout of the embassy district, with lines in red pencil indicating where mobs were currently located and heading. Fiske looked at the CSO with a wrinkled brow.

"Is there any sign of government forces?"

Tavish, in full body armor and carrying a G36 slung over his shoulder, was an impressive sight. The hard expression he was wearing completed the effect.

"Besides increased police activity, and one pissed-looking Yanitarian embassy helicopter, not much. The streets are full of criminal gangs and white-robed mystics. Oh, and there was some incident at the docks, apprarently. That's all we know from observations on top of the compound."

Fiske looked conflicted. Suddenly, his face took on a firm expression, and he turned back towards Tavish.

"I want you to take sections six and seven and deploy them to 8 HMMWVs. Wait for my order to assist any embassies under attack."

"Yes sir." Tavish turned and strode out of the office.

Kovel had already dropped the phone from his hands, as he ran up the front steps and into the embassy. Lieutenant came from a back room looking agitated and scared. Kovel was swearing to himself when I heard the first shot ring out.

The guard at the gate had fired a warning shot over the heads of the Beatusians. Two other guards lay prone in shooting positions on the stairs. The other two were using the car cover and had their rifles aimed over the hood.

After firing his warning shot the guard at the gate started to back away covered by his squad. If the men got through the gate there would be little chance of holding them off.

Bud couldn't believe his eyes. Shit had just hit the fan, or more appropriately, shrapnel had just hit the Yanitarian helicopter. The crowd had begun firing weapons and now a pick up with a SAM arrived.

He did two things. As he pulled ''hornet's nest'' grenades off his belt, he got on the radio.

''We've got small arms and SAM fire out front, we've got to go now!''

He pulled the pins, throwing one long, hoping for it to land at the back of the crowd and one short, hoping for it to land at the front. If they detonated, they would send hundreds of hard plastic pellets loaded with pepper spray throughout a 20 foot area. Not only would the pellets sting like hell, they would unleash their spray. Then his radio crackled to life.

''Understood, we haven't heard back from anyone but HOB. WE don't have time to respond, we can let em know when we get there.''

Bud grabbed a tear gas launcher which had been placed on the wall only minutes ago by another guard. Rapidly he aimed it towards the middle of the crowd and fired. Along the wall, two other guards did the same. Then he grabbed his rifle. The radio crackled again.

''All guards pull back, you are to begin security protocol 2.''

Bud slung his rifle on his back, sliding down the ladder like something out an an action movie, then doing the same down from the wall, until his boots hit the dirt. His comrades did the same, and they began running, toward the embassy. On the roof, Elaine and the staff were loading into the helicopter.

From a remote jungle base, 6 Doomani made ACI.39 Bellicus and 2 ACI.37 Corvus attack helicopters took to the sky. Four of the Bellicus' were loaded with 40 OSF (Orbathian Special Forces) soldiers. The OSF was a highly secretive group, having only formed only six years prior to the current date. They had been formed from the Orbathian Air Calvary and the Anti Terrorism Task Force, one of many reasons why they were well suited for this task. The other two were empty, except for one or two medical personnel and a few empty litters.

Although those in Beatus' didn't yet know, though they soon should, the helicopters formed Operation Eagle, a rescue attempt for those that would have to be left behind at the Orbathian embassy and any other friendly embassies.

James Andrews rapidly typed a message on a secure channel to the government of Beatus'

I have authorized the deployment of a group of soldiers to rescue those that will be left behind at my embassy and any friendly embassies. Since we have not yet heard back, I'm sure you have the situation under control. If you don't, we are happy to provide assistance. I hope my deployment does not bother you.

The Alumno of Beatus members were not phased by the gunshots. They didn't even move. The leader continued with his speech, "The world has allowed it self to settle into sloth, and indecency. They ignore the teachings of the Great Bob. They ignore his signs, writing them of as they're own doings. They delude themselves, to the point that they actually believe they can alter the state of the world. Again and again, they take the signs of the Great Bob's anger with them, and use it to persecute others, who they claim are the cause. The time has come to say, no more!" The rest repeated, "No more!" The leader continued, "Time and again they have had they're chance to see the light, that is the Great Bob's teachings, yet they remain in they're blissful ignorance. We gave them more chance than they deserve, but now, the time has come. No more!" The whole group began chanting, "No more! No more! No more!"

The five HOB rifles opened fire in unison. The security chief had targeted the one who spoke, and who he assumed was the leader.

Outside the HOB embassy

As the security detail had opened fire on the crowd the officers had expected them to fall back. Instead they stood their ground, and seemingly out of nowhere guns had materialized and were now blazing back at them.

Most of the fire coming from the crowd was focused on the three Boothians behind the car. Glass, sparks, and burning metal fountained around the men. The dropped down behind the car trying to avoid the rain of death coming from behind the gate.

In moments the wheels of the car had been blown out and the side facing the gate was reduced to shredded metal. One of the Boothians realized he had been hit in his side just below his right armpit. The other two had not noticed this and were blindly firing by holding there weapons just above the hood.

On the steps the two remaining Boothians held their prone positions and continued to pull their triggers.

Inside the HOB embassy

The thunder of the battle exploded through the house. Lieutenant barked and whined fearfully. Kovel nodded to the officer and ran for the basement steps. The door that opened to them was in the kitchen. It was a normal household door, which unfortunately locked on the kitchen side. The stairs ran straight down at a steep pitch. Down the stairs there were several rooms, but the only one with a door was the wine cellar. Kovel looked around for things to use as a barricade. There were plenty of shelfs, tables, and boxes that could be used... if the guards could hold the hoard off long enough.

When they had finished, they backed away, as did the others who were firing upon the guards. About 45 seconds later, the C4 exploded, creating holes in the walls around either side of the gate, which amazingly still stood. At that time, they rushed thought the holes into the compound.

The injured guard had slumped forward resting his forehead against the door of the care and laboring hard to breath. The other two had regained their composure and noticed him.

One wrapped his arm around the injured man's waist while the other laid down more covering fire. Then they limped towards the door of the house trying to keep their heads down.

An explosion from the gate sent them sprawling. As they looked up they saw the guards on the stairs running back into the house. Then the guard from the car ran past firing blindly behind himself. The sprawled out men rolled over to see Beatusians streaming through holes in the embassy walls. They opened fire at the swarm, but their last stand was short lived. A hail of burning metal blanketed the two men ripping through their limp bodies.

Inside the HOB embassy

The two guards from the steps had dashed into the house as they saw the C4 being deployed and detonated. They waited until the third made it inside and then slammed the door, bolting it. A long hall led from the front door into the living room, which continued to the dinning room, and finally the kitchen. The men ran to the end of the hall. One remained at the end, prone, aiming down it towards the bolted door.

The other two continued into the living room where they flipped a couch and pushed it towards the hallway creating a makeshift barricade. If the Beatusians came through the front door they would have to make their way down the hall way which was covered by the concealed men.

The HOB embassy basement

Kovel and the officer were busy at work piling furniture against the basement door and stairs. Then they heard a massive explosion and foot steps above them inside the house.

Kovel looked at the officer helplessly. We had no weapons in the basement and wished he had grabbed his guns from the car.

"Fire from the HOB embassy directly to our northwest."

"Can we hit them with our short range artillery?"

"What artillery?"

"The one I built last week using tinfoil, plastic bottles, unused binders, and pieces of an old desk we found outside."

"Ah. What can we launch from that?"

"Molotovs. Or the HE shells we always keep in the back of our armoured cars for some reason."

The guard leaned over to the ambassador.

"Those are to create good looking shrapnel."

"Ah. Use it anyway. We don't need good looking explosions."

"Yes sir."

The guard unloaded two 420mm HE shells from the back of each armoured car, making a total of six. He dragged them over to the very primitive catapult device, and loaded one in. Unsurprisingly, the catapult collapsed. The ambassador cursed.

"Ah f***. Put the HE shells in the artillery cannon in the roof then, damn it!"

He ran over to his crumpled work. He sobbed.

"My work!"

He then stood back up and carried a shell with him inside. A telecommunications officer inside the embassy radioed the HOB embassy.

I'm going to overstep my authority here and order you and sections six through eight to board 8 HMMWVs and proceed directly to the HOB embassy. If the Beatus government gets involved, do exactly as they say and I will bear full responsibility for issuing the order. "

"Roger."

Outside, Tavish directed the 24 CSF mercenaries into the 8 armored black humvees. Each humvee would carry 3 mercenaries, each armed with a HK G36, a Para Ordnance Hi-Cap automatic, and each wearing full ballistic armor and black uniforms bearing the sign of the dollar, the official Gesford seal.

The bulletproof humvees started their engines and turned on their headlights, and as the electronic steel gate swung open, they tore out into the streets, driving in the direction of the HOB embassy.

Captain Maxim Ivanov, 2 Dragoon Regiment, watched with amazement the dramatic battle unfolding only across the street at the House of Boothby's embassy. The 26-year old officer, commander of the tiny security detachment at the Anselmian embassy, was standing on top of the roof, gazing at the destruction through binoculars. A scout-sniper team was positioned nearby, continually pushing for permission to engage.

"Sir, let us take them out," the shooter pleaded. His spotter nodded enthusiastically.

Ivanov lowered the binoculars. "You know the ROE, Sergeant."

The Dragoon tightened his grip on his M110 rifle and grimaced. "The Boothbians are some of our closest allies, sir. For all you know, some of the men you trained with personally could be getting cut down right now."

Ivanov lowered his head, and took a deep breath. "Sergeant, we are only 15 men. Our objective is the safety of the ambassador and his staff. To open fire on the mob would be to incur its wrath, thus resulting in our destruction. I cannot give an order that would cause that to happen. You will hold your fire unless the embassy is directly threatened."

"Erm, sir, we never did have an artillery cannon on the roof."

A big skeleton which would resemble the silhouette of an artillery cannon from a distance sat on the roof.

"Great. Well, what about the Big Bertha cannon in the garage?"

"I'll go get that. I guess your hobby has brought some good to us."

The 420mm German-style cannon was rolled out of the embassy garage. The ambassador threw his diplomatic cap onto the ground and donned a stahlhelm. He shoved the shell into the cannon. At that moment, the telecommunications officer ran out of the embassy.

"Sir! No response!"

"Then they're all dead. Open fire!"

"Yeah, at a rate of one shell per minute."

The artillery boomed, and a shell flew out of the Stoklomolvi embassy towards the Boothbian embassy. A total of six shells were fired before the artillery was rolled back inside.

"That's good and done. Let's get the hell out of here. I built a yacht during my fifty year stay here using steel scraps from the walls of the other embassies."

"Section seven, park parallel to the gate across the street and deploy. Six and eight, I want you to do the same on either side of seven, forming a defensive curve. Everyone into position!"

The humvees screeched to a halt at their assigned locations, and 24 Compound Security Force mercenaries jumped out and stood with the vehicles in between them and the raging, confused crowd at the embassy gate.

"Men, don gas masks and ready teargas! If you perceive any threat from the crowd, do not hesitate to open fire. Remember, they are armed."

He reloaded his minigun with ammo that did not contain tracers. With the city of the blessed totally dark, and with out the lights or tracers to give away their position, the black helicopter would be nearly invisible from this altitude.

The radio cracked in the cockpit, as the Stoklomolvi embassy asked them to land in the courtyard. The copilot radioed back, in a nervous voice, "Negative, we have to see if we can rescue the Boothbian embassy staff. The moment we feel it's too risky, we will pull out and land in the courtyard. Kovel had continued piling shelves and boxes against the door when the first of the HE shells hit. It was the loaded thing Kovel had ever heard. The shell had smashed through the small covered car port on the side of the house, obliterating it and leaving a hole in the side of the bottom floor living room.

In the basement a wall had been shifted, bricks lay about on the ground and a water pipe had broken.

Upstairs the guards were stumbling back in a cloud of smoke and debris. The chief had gotten the worst of it and his right side was filled with wooden splinters from the exploded wall. Together they limped towards the basement door... but it was held fast from the other side.

Their only hope was to make it out the back door, they just couldn't sit in the death trap of the house any longer.

As the men were hobbling out the back into a small walled garden the second round hit. This time it struck further forwards in the front lawn. Leaving a gapping hole of smoking dirt and metal.

The hiss of the lighter echoed in the tunnel, and the flame illuminated a small area directly in front of the Boothian and the Officer. Kovel crawled in. Anything more then 5 feet away was pitch black. He started down the tunnel.

Captain Maxim Ivanov acknowledged the Gesfordian's transmission with two clicks of his microphone. Just then, the area behind the mercenaries exploded into a sea of light.

"What the--"

"Sir, a manhole behind the Gesfordians just opened; that's where the willy pete came from!"

Ivanov focused his binoculars on the manhole and waited for something to emerge from it.

"Keep your rifle trained on it, Kimberly. If anything that pops out looks hostile, take it down. I don't want anything coming out of that manhole."

"Roger that, sir."

Ivanov then picked up his radio microphone and hailed Tavish once more.

"Gesforian! A manhole just opened behind your position and ejected the willy pete. Probably hostiles, over."

Colonel Garzanti jogged out on to the tarmac to his waiting commandos.

"Green light! Everybody load up!"

The Imperial Guardsmen split up into two sections and accompanied their equipment on board the two Super Hercules transport planes. Minutes later, the great rear ramps folded up into the fuselage, and the behemoths taxied to the runway. Given clearance for takeoff immediately, the Anselmian relief force began its long journey to the Beatus.

Tavish was just finishing the countdown. "Six, five-"

Everything went white.

Tavish instinctively crouched downwards to avoid what he was sure was an incoming machine-gun barrage. He still had his gas mask on, and did not dare take it off, in case some of the men blinded by what had appeared to be a flash grenade had dropped their canisters of tear gas. Sure enough, when his eyes finally adjusted to the darkness of the street, he could see smoke pouring out from behind humvee six.

"Shit." Tavish shouted through the expanding fog, "All sections, keep your masks on and report!" Shouts could be heard from the section leaders.

"Section 6, fine here!"

"Section 8, we're ok!"

"..."

Tavish strained his still adjusting eyes to see the middle of the group as the radio crackled something about a manhole cover that Tavish couldn't make out.

"Section seven, report!" Something was wrong. The clouds rolling out under the trucks was thicker than tear gas, and a paler shade of white. There were small dissipating smoke trails leading from the center of the explosion outwards. Also, it was clear from the flickering light behind humvee six that there was a fire, something not normally started by a flash grenade.

"Sections six and eight, any teargas exposure?"

"No sir!"

"Negative."

"Give us covering! Switch to regular ammunition and shoot any of those bastards you see!" He looked up at the Anselmians and picked up his megaphone again. "Hey! Let's take these bastards down!"

The CSFs began shooting at the retreating backs of the Alumno. Careful to keep himself behind the trucks, Tavish worked his way through the smoke over to humvee 6. The scene was eerie. Humvee 6's doors were open, and the portable fire extinguisher was missing. Continuing, Tavish saw a group of white figures. He raised his rifle and was about to shoot when he realized those were his men. They had been covered in a white powder. Two of them had the extinguisher and were frantically trying to put out four others, who were whacking at parts of their fatigues and ballistic armor that were burning with an incredibly bright flame. Tavish spotted two other men, doubled up and coughing. He made his way to them, picking up their discarded gas masks, and firmly shoved them back on their heads. He spoke to one of them.

"What the hell was that?"

Through sputters, the man replied, "*cough* I don't know sir *cough*, some king of *cough* incendiary smoke grenade *cough*."

"Where did they come from?"

"The just *cough* appeared behind us."

Tavish looked over at a particularly large patch of fire, near the burning men. He could just barely make out a circular manhole leading under the street, with the cover removed. "Shit."

Tavish grabbed one of the men who had just finished putting out the others.

"Get in humvee seven and wait for my instructions. "

"Yes sir."

Tavish grabbed another man. "How are they doing?"

"Some minor burns sir, but their armor and clothes got the brunt of it."

"Take the extinguisher and put out that large fire, then do the little ones."

"Yes sir."

Tavish ran over to the open manhole. With great effort he lifted the cover and replaced it, but not before throwing a teargas grenade inside. "That'll teach the bastards."

Tavish ran over to the merc in the humvee.

"I want you to put the left rear wheel on top of that manhole cover, understand?"

"You got it."

Tavish grabbed the man who had just finished mopping up the fires. "Are there any more manholes near us?"

"No sir, just the one."

Tavish got on the radio. "All sections, any manholes in the vicinity of your vehicles?"

"Negative."

"No sir."

"Good." Tavish switched to the Anselmian channel. "The cowards hit us from behind with some incendiary grenades. Take out as many of the bastards as you can see."

Tavish grabbed the men who had been burned, "You four, get in humvee one and return to the JCC." He turned to the men who had been caught with their masks off. "You two okay to fight?"

"Yes sir."

"Good. Position yourselves again and watch for any movement, in front or in back this time."

"Roger."

As all sections continued to fire and throw teargas at the Alumno, one humvee backed up onto the manhole, while another sped away, back towards the financial district. Tavish got back on the radio. "Anselmians? Thanks for the tip about the manhole. Probably saved our skins from another attack. Have you been able to get in contact with the Beatus yet? They've been silent on our end."

"No problem. We've got your backs covered, but we don't see anything behind you. As for the Beatusian government, I've received word that they've given clearance for a relief force to be dispatched from Anselmus, but nothing as far as local authorities are concerened. I don't know what to tell you, over."

Ivanov, waiting for a response, turned to Kimberly.

"Sarge, cover the area behind the Gesfordian positions. Same with you, Corporal."

OOC: The range, 450km, I'm not sure where the idea of using helicopters came from but thank god it is gone now. So, let me try again.

Leaving Orbathian Airspace
A message had been sent and no reply had been sent back. This could mean several things. Firstly, it was possible that Beatus' had really gone to hell and the government overthrown. Or maybe they were just too busy. Or maybe they were just ignoring Orbath. Regardless, the mission couldn't wait.

3 C-130J aircraft, two loaded with a company of Orbathian paratroopers, one loaded with a few medical personnel and a platoon of soldiers.

Beatus
Unfortunately for the security personnel, they knew that they would be left behind. There wasn't room on the helicopter for the entire embassy staff and being soldiers meant they got the short end of the stick. So the 8 soldiers felt slightly abandoned as they heard the helicopter take off into the dark sky.

If the situation hadn't escalated, some of the staff would have been left behind to make room for foreign diplomats. Unfortunately, it escalated, meaning the diplomats would have to wait until the paratroopers arrived.

The embassy guards had already put their lock down plans into effect. The large thick steel door of the embassies were double locked and the windows were now covered in retractable steel bars.

All they could do now is wait.

OOC: Firstly, this is an amazing, badass RP, well conducted on all sides.

Secondly, @ Beatus, how many people are in the Alumno crowd (or at least how many did we see before we got hit by a dastardly attack, clever bastard), and what type of armament are they carrying? I'm considering entering the HOB Embassy complex to attempt to rescue the Ambassador, but I'd like to know if you have other plans for the Alumno crowd besides having me cut them down on my way in. It would also be good to work out casualties for the crowd after the combined Yanitaria, Anselmus, and Gesford barrage that just happened.

IC:

Tavish cursed to himself as the remaining Alumno who hadn't been cut down by fire from Yanitarian, Anselmian, and Gesford forces raced into the HOB embassy. Moving out onto the street was one thing, getting attacked from behind and then attempting to storm a potential deathtrap which happened to be yet another country's sovereign territory was another. He walked back to his humvee and radioed the JCC.

"Dufresne? Patch me through to Fiske and French."

"Sure thing!" The radio clicked once.

"Fiske here. Situation?"

"Mixed. We were attempting to disperse a crowd of mystics in front of the Hob(slang in this case for House of Boothby Embassy) when we got hit by a White Phosphorus grenade attack from behind, out of a manhole, specifically. We sustained four casualties, I sent them back your way."

"Dammit Jack, what the hell is going on out there?"

"We received support from the Yanitarian chopper and from Anselmian forces across the street in driving the crowd into cover inside the Hob. Unfortunately, it looks like that's exactly where they wanted to go."

"Any sign of survivors in the embassy?"

"No sir. At this time it does not appear likely that they would have remained hidden for long, and the crowd appeared to be of the very xenophobic type."

"Any suggestions?"

"Sir, regardless of the action we take, I request that you send section five here to assist us. The crowd was rather large, and another eight guns could prove crucial."

"Yes yes, but what about the embassy?"

"I cannot enter unless you give the order."

"..."

"Sir?"

"..."

"Mr. Fiske?"

"I'm still here. Alright. I'll probably be fired for this, but I am giving you permission to enter the Hob. However, if you decide at any time that it is too dangerous in there, you have my full confidence to withdraw."

"Thank you sir. I'll notify you once I've spoken with the Anselmian and Yanitarian forces. If this goes down, it will be coordinated."

"Give 'em hell, Jack."

"Thank you sir."

Tavish closed the channel and got back on the frequencies for the Yanitarian heli and the Anselmian embassy security forces.

"Gentlemen, I need your opinion. I have been given full permission to secure the Hob for the purpose of rescuing the Boothby Ambassador. However, given the hostile presence in the embassy I wanted your views on whether or not this action should be taken. I will not, I repeat, will not enter the embassy if I cannot get a general consensus that this would be a worthwhile assault. I am not in the business of wasting my men in silly heroic gestures. So I put the question to you. With the additional 8 CSFs arriving in just a few minutes time, for a total of 28 Gesford CSFs for the assault, plus whatever support you choose to lend, and given the probable concentration of the enemy, should this attack go forward?"

Tavish waited for their reply, crouched behind a humvee, cherishing the stillness that might be shattered in an instant.

Meanwhile in the prison.

Captain Max managed to bring his hands in front of him for him to relax as the door's opened for the first time. He pretended to fall asleep as the guard came closer and closer to him.

'Little closer my friend,' he thought to himself as his mind was tracking the guards heart beat movement. 'Talk about stupidty,'

He waited until he felt something touch him on the cheek. He pulled the guard closer as he sank his fangs into the thoart of the guard sucking all its bllod viens dry.

'Command is going to kill us after this is over,' he thought to himself as he cut the culfs.

He took the keys and the pistols and sat the body in the corner close to the door. He quietly opened the other doors to get his team mates out before attaching the keys to his belt. He could tell there was three at the top and ordered 3 fingers then 5 fingers.

Outside about 1km from the prison.

Max's ability stopped as they were far away from the prison yard and it would be a matter of time before the prison came alive with lights and guards. Max felt cold hard steel around his neck as a warm hand touched his neck.

"Thomas, I thought you were gone," said Max.

A Lynion Hunter appeared armed with two automatice pistol's, rifle and two blades.

"Got seperated sir," Thomas replied. "The warship's are gone and I found an airfield with an aircraft that can get us back to Lynion,"

Max nodded his head as Thomas handed out his rifle, one of his pistol's and one of his blade's. Max took the pistol into his hand and handed back a semi-automatic pistol to someone else.

The Lynion's had a new objective. They were to cross country towards an airfield about 4 hours from their position. They would have to hide in bushes, forests and avoid the major road's before they come towards the airfield.

IC:

Captain Maxim Ivanov, 2 Dragoons (Diplomatic Protection) Regiment, cradled his microphone as he thought for a moment.

"Mr. Gesford, I believe we have no choice but to aid our brothers from Boothby in their plight. But to make sure you don't take all the blame if something goes wrong, I'm sending you Charlie Section. Only five men, but all I can spare. I hope they can help."

Ivanov put down the transmitter and spoke into his headset.

"Sergeant Seabrook, ready Charlie Section for movement. You're going into the HOB embassy with the Gesfordians."

A pause, then a reply: "Roger that, sir. Be ready in a minute."
------------------------------------------------
Sergeant Pete Seabrook quickly wiped his clear Oakley M-Frames with a Nomex-gloved finger as he waited for the automated front gate to fully open. He turned around to look at his command, the four Dragoons of Charlie Section. Each man was clad in digital urban camouflage, topped with black IOTV body armor and web gear, in addition to a black Lightweight Helmet on their heads. Like Seabrook himself, all wore clear M-Frame glasses and black Nomex gloves. For armament, they carried HK416 carbines and HK45 pistols in drop-down holsters. The sergeant nodded at his men confidently, then turned back around. The gate was open, and it was time to go.

As Seabrook moved towards the gate, he heard Ivanov's voice crackle once more into his headset.

"Sarge, don't bother with bounding overwatch. We'll cover you from here."

"Roger that, sir."

The five Dragoons sprinted across the street, without incident, to the Gesfordian Humvees. Seabrook approached Tavish and saluted lazily.

"Sergeant Pete Seabrook, Second Dragoons, sir. We're urban combat specialists, so I hope we can help. Where do you want us?"

OOC:Pete Seabrook? Good job. I also just realized that I now have to make up a rank structure for my mercenaries.

As the two HMMWVs pulled up containing CSF section 5, Tavish returned the dragoon's salute quickly. "Chief Security Officer John Tavish, Gesford Joint Commerce Compound, Beatus Branch. Your help is much appreciated, sergeant. In fact, you should take control of the remainder of section seven," he pointed towards the area where four men of the eight who suffered the grenade attack stood. "If this goes forward, I plan on making it quick, going room to room while your sniper team and the heli support us through the windows and against forces on the roof or outside. If possible, I'd like to have your section seven perform an aerial insertion into the embassy, while sections five, six, and eight enter through the ground floor entrances. This hinges, of course, on having a helicopter." Tavish picked up the handset again. "Yanitarian helicopter! Would you be willing to take part in an attack on the embassy, and if so, would you be able to drop some of our men in and then give us CAS until we find the Ambassador?"

OOC: If this goes down I'm going to need a map of the embassy grounds, any floors we'll have to clear, and # of hostiles + armaments. Boothby? Beatus?
Oh and for Anselmus, the names of the remaining men in section seven(I figure you could take complete control of them for this assault) are:

Marc Hohman(you should have seen this coming)
Colin Strylowski
David Adams
Paul Foreman

Max turned around and watched the prison came alive. Guards were running around, dogs barking and guns waving around.

"There goes a silent escape," laughed Max.

The group of 11 men went down the other side of the hill as the sight of the airfield came more and more clear. They went down along the dense bush trying to make as little noise as they could while hoping the dogs weren't loose.

Upon coming closer to the airfield, they could see the lights were down, gates were jammed shut and the only way through was either to cut through the fence or to go over the wire which will leave cuts and wounds.

[OOC: White Phosphorous is an incendiary weapon, your men are on fire right now.]

OOC: I accounted for them being incendiary grenades as well as flash and smoke producers. The grenades landed behind one section of the group, not all of them, and body armor and uniforms (which today are often made to be fire-retardant) would take the brunt of the fire(see: White Phosphorus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Phosphorus)). Besides, we had a fire extinguisher on hand (which, as the article says, will counter WP because it deprives it of oxygen), and even then I lost half a section and probably one HMMWV to the damn things. A grenade isn't exactly a full-size incendiary bomb. If you really want us to not go into the embassy, just say so. We'll delay/decide not to for long enough for you to do what you're doing. It's your RP. Also, were there 100 members before or after the attacks? If before, how many casualties have been sustained? If not, same question. And while I really don't care much about this point, effective AA and AT weaponry is pretty hard to hide under a white robe.

Tavish considered the sergeants words. "Alright, take Foreman and Hohman. Strylowski and Adams were caught with their masks off in that last attack, so they may not be up to snuff." Tavish turned back towards the four remaining men in section 7. "Hohman! Foreman! Go with these men, you're under their command for the duration of this assault. Adams and Strylowski, reinforce six and eight." Tavish turned back towards Seabrook. "Good luck, sergeant." Tavish saluted the man, waited for it to be returned, and rejoined his men. "Section five! Retake section seven's position and everyone stay down! I saw rifles in that crowd before they hid in the Hob." Crouching behind his humvee, Tavish radioed the sniper team and simultaneously shouted orders to his men. "Everyone! Watch the windows, doors, and roof for activity! If they pop out, we need to be ready! And mantain situational awareness! We don't want to get hit from behind again!" Tavish put the handset back and raised his rifle, watching the embassy while keeping aware of everything around him.

Once Seabrook ascertained the roof was indeed clear, they moved to their entry point. The sergeant, looking through his carbine's reflex scope, peeked quickly over the edge of the roof to see if anyone was on the balcony.

At the airfield at the south eastern side of the fence.

Captain Max could finally see how they were going to leave and it was going to go right.

"Right, Johnson, I want you to take a pair of Hunter's and get the codes from the control tower," started Max.

Johnson pulled out a book of codes and smiled.

"You beauty," smiled Max as he turned to the rest. "We'll use the liquid in the new bullets so we can cut the wire," Max pulled out a pistol bullet and took the top off. "Once it's cut we'll cloak, dash for the transport plane and fly back to Lynion. If we have to, we'll fight our way to the plane,"

The Lynion's watched as the only new bullet was opened, the napalm melted through the wire and the Lynion's cloaked themselves.

Running across the airfield making as little sound as possible, they ran across the airfield while watching the guards patrolling. They slide pass the boxes as they watched a few boxes being pass onto the hull of the plane. Max watched the pilots come inside the hull of plane.

"Me and Johnson will inpersonate the pilots. I want the rest of you to board the plane and wait for us," whispered Max.

Max and Johnson crept inside the hull of the plane where the guards were starting to leave. The plane was due to leave any second. They crept up to the pilots who were in a seperate room taking a smoke. The pair opened the door and quickly broke the pilots neck as they took off their uniforms and dressed up as in the pilots clothing. They locked the door as the guards gave them the thumbs up. It was time for the plane to leave. The other Lynion's had boarded and were hiding amongest the boxes while the door to the hull started to close.

"Just remember our training when we flew those transport carrier's," said Max.

They fired up the engines, open the codes book as they started to take off. Max briefly flicked through the code books realisng this would open part of the air defense system of the nation.

"I'm going to recommend you to the Assassian Battalion," said Captain Max as the plane started to take off.

Max gave a sigh of relief as they were starting to get some distance between them and the airfield. The only thing that had to worry about were the nation's air force coming after them.

Johnson gave a sigh of relief as some of the Lynion's wondered into the cockpit.

About two hours into the flight, they were about five kilometres from the air space of the nation they just escaped from. The Lynion's gave a sigh of relief and they could relax for awhile before they arrive at Lynion.

[OOC: Beatus, how did they get inside? I said a few posts ago that the entire embassy was locked down.]

[OOC: Nearby rooftop, they fired over the gate.]

[OOC: sorry, didn't catch that, about the WP. Also, the AT, AA are those in the sewers behind you. By now there are about 75 left, in the HOB embassy.]

HOB Embassy

The men in the sewer knew they're job, and were waiting for the sign...

After five minutes in the embassy, smoke grenades were tossed out, to provide cover. As the smoke began to fill the area in front of the embassy, sniper fire targeted the Gesford commanders, from office buildings to the east. Then the Alumno of Beatus members rushed out of the embassy, toward the office buildings to the east, firing through the smoke. (They may be firing blindly, but they have a general idea of where your forces are, and there are many of them) As the last one exited the embassy compound, he pressed his trigger, and a violet explosion rocked the area, as the HOB embassy collapsed, in a pile of rubble.

The men in the sewer knew they're job, and were waiting for the sign...
OOC: Your men in the sewers got gassed, remember? You didn't mention anything about them having gasmasks, and with the HMMWV parked on the manhole (holding the cover down), and no more manholes or storm drains around, they can't do much. Also, if you're thinking of planting something on/shooting at the manhole cover, just try it. The explosion will be directed straight down, like a really big gun going off backwards.

With his men and the Anselmians on the ground, Tavish was waiting for just such a tactic. Not needing a command, the CSFs started shooting at all entrances the instant smoke grenades were tossed out, and heard cries of death and agony through the smoke as the Alumno rushed the embassy doors and straight into a hail of bullets, their own smoke blinding them.

In retaliation, the Alumno, all of them, had opened fire back at the CSFs and the sounds of bullets ricocheting of bulletproof doors and humvee chassis was deafening. Fortunately, the M14s they carried, precision weapons, were almost useless in this fog and firing blindly while running. Section eight, the rightmost section in the line, spotted snipers taking shots at Tavish, whom they had deduced was the commander of the CSFs.

Not taking any chances, Tavish quickly crouched behind the humvee, obscuring their LOS and and crawled over to section one, losing himself in their ranks. Thank god we don't wear rank on our uniforms and we're using radios and wearing gasmasks. Otherwise they'd probably have gotten me sooner.

A huge explosion rocked the street, and through the smoke Tavish could just barely make out the Hob, battered and on fire, crumble to the ground. Tavish quickly keyed his mic.

The two guards looked around and saw two boys sitting on the nearby roof, playing around with crossbows. Then, bolts flew and smacked them in their helmets, prompting them to pull out pistols and shoot at the boys.

"FIRE!"

The other guards pulled out AK-47s and started firing on the boys. Soon after, the ambassador ran inside the embassy.

"Requesting immediate support, we are under attack in the Beatus. Embassy."

A telecommunications officer back in Vladistov picked up.

"Affirmative. The 371st and 372nd Naval Flotillas have been sent to your location. ETA is two days."

He hung up.

"Burn that building down!"

One of the guards ran into the embassy and came back out with a large barrel of petroleum. He stuck it in the ruined catapult, and pointed at it. The ambassador rushed over and quickly put the pieces together, and stuck a rag into the opening in the oil barrel. He lit this rag on fire, and launched the barrel over the embassy walls. In doing so, the catapult collapsed again, but the barrel exploded into the house that the boys were shooting from.

Soon, the eight man team, stepping over countless Alumno bodies, had lifted the seven soldiers who were lying, miraculously, on top of the wreckage, and brought them back into the safety of the Anselmian embassy. The fully loaded helicopter soared through the skies, very dark skies, of Beatus, rushing hurriedly for a small patch of land known as target 6. It had been preselected outside of Beatus as a potential landing site should an evacuation be necessary. Luckily it was nearby a large open field, on which one of the C-130 aircraft could land.

It didn't take long before the pilot announced they had left Beatus and were beginning their descent. Elaine sighed a breath of relief as she saw the tree tops rapidly approach. As the helicopter touched down, the co pilot got out, directing the staff to exit the aircraft. He opened some compartments, revealing his weapons, an AY-143 rifle and a large knife. Opening another he pulled out a rucksack, loaded with survival supplies for the ''team''.

He herded the group to a nearby log, which he stood on and spoke.

''As you all know, we have been forced to evacuate our embassy. You have all done evacuation drills at home, but this is not a drill. You must understand that we are now in unknown territory and we have objectives to meet. Legally I am now your leader as required per Orbathian doctrine. Now, provided you stay calm and follow me, I assure you we will be safe. Now please, affix these to your backs and follow me.''

He tossed each person a red glow stick with a special glue attached to it. He waited a second to give people a chance to attach the glow stick and headed into the woods, flash light and GPS in hand.

Outside of Beatus

The co pilot, ambassador and staff members made a short trek through the closely bunched together trees which as they had been walking began to thin, making room for a tall, lush, meadow like grass. Unfortunatly for the co pilot, even with the light of his flashlight, someone had managed to trip on a tree root and he was now stuck piggy backing them through the forest. It was important that they moved quickly, knowing full well that if they missed their ride, it wouldn't be until the morning before a search and rescue team arrived.

As he stepped into a massive field, shining his flashlight beam across the grass, his GPS beeped, signaling his arrival at his destination. He set the injured women slowly onto the ground, instructed everyone to sit close and swung his ruck sack off of his back and began digging through a pocket. He pulled from it many infrared flares. He walked along the edge of the field and began laying down flares, creating a landing strip for the C-130 which would hopefully be arriving soon.

Just as he finished and walked back over to the group, instructing them to drink their ''electrolyte drinks'', he could see, high in the sky, three groups of blinking red lights. Sure enough, one group broke off from the other two and began descending. He instructed the group to head back into the woods, trying to put some distance between them and the makeshift runway in case something went wrong.

From deeper in the woods the group watched as the aircraft slowly touched down, crashing through the trees, bumping along and finally coming to a stop. As the group headed back towards the runway, they could see a platoon of soldier separating, some taking positions around the aircraft while others and a medical team headed towards the group.

The injured woman was placed onto a litter and the group was escorted into the bowels of the massive plane. Slowly but surely the aircraft lurched forward, picking up speed until it took off into the sky.
