Icewind Dale is a new roleplaying region. The rules are a bit complicated, so I'll try to explain them here.
1. The current year is 1902, with time elapsing at the speed of plot. IE: If there's nothing going on, time goes faster than when things are busy.
2. The continent of Icewind Dale is on a planet far from Sol, making it completely seperate from the rest of NS until things reach FT. Feel free to think of it as an alternate universe for now.
3. The key thing here is roleplaying, not debating tech and numbers.
4. Slots on the map are doled out at a rate of one per 500 million people in your nation on NS.
5. For the sake of realism, populations and budgets used in Icewind Dale are 0.5% of what they would be in NationStates. For example, at the time of this writing, Bryn Shander has about 10.5 billion people. In Icewind Dale, that equates to 52.5 million.
We're going for realism, but we don't want to take it over the top. The main objective is to write stories and interact with other players in a meaningful way. If you are only looking to win at Nationstates, don't bother applying.
If you're interested in joining this region, drop a line. Doesn't matter if you're an old or new nation. We actually want a bunch of little guys to dot the map.
