Enduring Nature's Wrath
AHSCA has always been subject to nasty storms. Harsh Gales, rough seas, endless rain during Monsoon and of course Hurricanes. In the Pre-unity days people just went with the cycle of nature. When the storm struck, they fought for survival. Now in the days of a United Nationstate, AHSCA charged men and women to live at sea during the Hurricane season. They kept their eyes on the sky and sea and made educated guesses. Islanders knew well enough the diffrence between a bad thunderstorm, a gale and a hurricane.
Kaa from Aurora, looked out at an approaching storm. "I don't like this" she said. Takumi from Hoshino looked out. "It looks pretty bad."
"Could be hurricane force." Kaa said. "Asuka, you should look."
Asuka a native of Stillestando (better known as Truce in English) "I think it is a hurricane. It's moving fast and that is a lot of lighting."
"We should get back and warn the Island Congress." Kaa said. "Takumi set sails, we need to get back pronto!"
The small three person crew called it and made the deduction. They were already battling the small off shoot storms to get back quick enough.
"It is our belief based on observations of the formations of the clouds the water and change in the air, we are in for our first Hurricane of the season."
"You are ceritan of this?" Shino asked.
"Yes milady."
"Very well, in the interest of being safe and taking shelter, we should disband untill the storm passes. Send a message to the AHSCA Consul in Mokostana, have them file the hurricane threat to their Government. At present Mokostana is the only nation we can really trust. The last thing we need after a major storm is a bunch of anti-furry maniacs coming in sheep's clothing. Make it encrypted, no press."
"As you wish." Her assistants ran off to forward the message right away.
The weather was already beginning to shift. AHSCA had to take this with great caution. OPEN SEASON had been declared on furry kind everywhere. If the wrong country showed up, it would be a blood bath. The local militia was assembled to aid in people getting to shelter. All there was to do was wait.
Marcella was growing up quick. She was walking and talking playing with other children. She was Shino's pride and looked every bit like her. "Mama!" She ran the moment Shino came into the hut. "Hey sweetie." She scooped up her little girl. "Listen to me Marcella, there's a very big storm coming, so it's very important you stay with me okay?"
"Okay."
Shino kissed her. The sky was looking more threatining by the minute.
Alexa was a newcomer to the islands. She had never lived in a tropical place before, no she grew up on a farm in Kurona. But the lure of tropical living had enticed her to give up everything to move here. She hadn't found the right boy yet who she was going to marry so she was all by her self. Her best friend often came to visit her when she had the chance and this was one of those moments. Molly had no interest in living in the tropics like her best friend, aunt and cousin were. But she respected the wishes of her best friend to chose that. "Looks like quite a storm is brewing out there." Molly said.
"You're right." Alexa agreed. "Guess we'll be stuck inside. Darn I really wanted to show you the island, it's great."
"Ah there will be time. And if you can't don't worry, I'll be back here before the new semester starts." Molly was currently a freshman in college. On her own and independent during the school year.
"This may be just a bit of me being scared but you don't think there's a hurricane approaching do you?" Molly asked.
"I don't know, I don't think so. I haven't heard anything yet."
But like clock work a militia man stood at the door telling the girls about the approaching storm.
"I'll understand if you leave Molly, I really will. You're parents would kill me probably."
"No, I'm staying with my best friend. We've lived through some nasty tornadoes haven't we? We can survive a hurricane. And I've been through a hurricane before."
"You're kidding when?"
"It was right as the new semester for my first year of College. Our ship got caught in a hurricane. It was wild I tell you, water was dumping in on us, Papa was out on deck, our cloths were soaked with sea water for days. "
"And you didn't tell me?"
"Sorry, I was going to as soon as I arrived. I sent you a letter."
"Must have been lost at sea or something."
Thunder crashed.
"Sounds like it's gearing up."
"Yeah. This will be my first." Alexa said. "It's kind of exciting and scary at the same time."
The people of Animalpolis weren't ignorant to anything. They knew of the weather and they certainly knew of those who had anti-furry agendas. For everyone preparing for the storm there were more preparing to defend their people.
Mika wasn't one preparing for war, she was battening down for the storm. She was a tad scared as she was on her own and she was neko. The anit-furry statements had her nervous too. She had no weapons though, she wasn't much for fighting. "Father..." Mika was also religious one of the few Christians on the island, "I guess the time has come for your forces to come to work again. If this should be my last days, then I hope I have been good. If there is anything that I should repent of but haven't I am truly sorry." She prayed every day but not usually like she was going to die. She didn't know if she would live or not. It would be one thing to live through the storm and another to live after it.

"We got orders to head out towards the island chain of AHSCA, Admiral"
A small applause broke out on the main deck when the comms officer spoke this aloud, even he was smiling.
"Does that mean we get some RnR Admiral?"
"Hey are those furries really as good in the sack as they say?"
"Your a sick bastard!"
The Admiral smirked at his crew, luckily the navy was a very relaxed bunch, at least when it came to peace operations. He looked at the comms officer who brought the formal orders over.
"Ohh kay, calm down sailors, we have orders to escort the 3rd marine detachment on a peace keeping operation. They are about to be hit by a major storm and we are to provide security and assist in the clean up. Nothing glorifying, and Hernandez, I doubt you will be off the boat long enough to try a furry."
"But Admiral, he only needs a few seconds!"
A roar of laughter erupted from the main deck. Always a good sign, that meant the mission would be easy when they could hear the admiral laughing with the Captain and his officers. The few sailors who worked around the bridge were given the job of spreading the word, soon a speaker bellowedinto the ship and informed the crew of the Tijuana of the general mission. As the Comm Officer relayed the orders to the rest of the Flotilla.
After two hours of final preparations the 19th Air Attack Fleet set sail with the 3rd Marine Division behind them.
(OOC: Becuase I'm bored)
A massive layer of cloud, nearly vertical, was approaching the AHSCA island chain. The first part of the inbound hurricane, that had sprung from nowhere for the crew of the LNZ-811. Ahead of the foreboding cloud, an airship bobbed about in the increasing winds, engines constantly changing with the flaps to keep the airship stable. It was a cargo-carrying Liberty-class Airship, a total of 750m long and 100m in diameter. Underneath, a gondola embellished with the AeroTransit inc. logo held about 144 airshipping containers, each loaded with many tonnes of assorted consumer goods, from little plastic toys to motorbikes. Right at the front of this masssive craft, a tiny gondola held the crew, and control deck. A total of only 5 people manned thisar ship: three in the control crew and two as ship-borne engineers.
The Captain of the airship was worried: the weather stratellite for the region had given them very bad new indeed. A tropical depression they were planning on riding through had just upgraded itself, through tropical storm and to full-blown hurricane. A tropical storm would have been nough to cause severe damage, but a cyclone...the co-pilot for the airship was very busy searching through the maps of the area, plotting their course electronically.
"Mokastana is just there, and would be the closest. But to get there, we have to go straight through the storm. So, I was thinking the only other place that we can get to is AHSCA."
"That is a problem. They don't have any facilities for airships do they?"
"Not really that much technology at all. It'll have to do though."
"If we can find an area to put down with the cargo and weather the storm out, it should be OK."
He looked at the airspeed indicator, then to the altmeter and weather charts.
"We might just make it. Even with a headwind of about 60km/h, I reckon that we'll be able to pull off a speed of 50km/h at least. With the storm moving in at about 160 km/h, it'll be closing in on us at about 110km/h. And the main front is about that distance away. AHSCA is 35km away... I think that might work. Send a prayer to the wind gods that we'll get there in one piece."
He muttered something under his breath, before adjusting the controls: he raised the flaps on the gondolas to neutral, flicked off the autobraking, and dropped the elevator to neutral. He then moved his hand to the engine controls: an indicator above them showed that they were currently on a cruise setting of 60% RPM to save fuel. Doubting they'd need the fuel they had, he pushed the 8 small control levers up to full power. There was a sudden jolt as the engines cut in at a new speed, coolant indicators rocketing up to full flow as they cooled the props now flying at high speed. The airspeed meter began climbing.
"This is airship LNZ-811 to AHSCA authorities: we are requesting permission for an emergancy touchdown and tethering at wherever you have. We are currently 37.2 kilometres from the nearest major island, at a bearing of 102 degrees and a speed of 48km/h. Please respond."

The storm was making it hard for radio signals to get through. But Aurora kept their ears to the waves to make sure the right people were coming. "This is Aurora Island Milita Commander Rosette, please identify your self."
"This is airship LNZ-811 to AHSCA authorities: we are requesting permission for an emergancy touchdown and tethering at wherever you have. We are currently 37.2 kilometres from the nearest major island, at a bearing of 102 degrees and a speed of 48km/h. Please respond."
"LNZ, at your current location shift 14 degrees to the south east and proceed to the AHSCA Embassy Island Complex, over. The complex is slightly out of the path of the storm and close enough you might be able to make it. They have better facilities to deal with your aircraft. Can you proceed with this?"
They had a Military Base with another country underconstruction, but it was that, under construction. Rosette took this with caution, knowing with the storm she was in command now.
"Affirmative. Adjusting course."
He shifted the airship to face in the correct direction, before setting the autopilot to hold that direction and keep the airship stable. He then moved his hand over to one of the other panels. Here, a confusing cluster of levers and dials marked the gas control system, details being shown on these secondary gauges for gas pressure and cell-group lift. His hand hovered over the pitch cell group control for a moment, before he dcided against it: catching the wind would do no good, going in the wrong direction. He grasped the controls for the main lift group, and moved them downwards. The airship detail screen showed three diagrams of the airship, from tail, plan and side. A sprawl of numbers would confuse the untrained eye, but the captain knew what he was looking for: a marker showing the cell pressure and sector lift began decreasing, alongside the backup gauges in the lever panel. He flicked the lever back to neutral as the altmeter showed 500 metres: at this altitude they would receive less turbulance and less of that headwind.
Behind him, the 'guy who did all the stuff with the cargo' was busy checking through the manifest, and checking the cargo bay controls. An entire bank was devoted to the individual movement of each clamp unit that held the crates, lifting them in and out of the airship without the need for any ground unloading equipment. With 72 seperate controls just for the cranes, it was a rather daunting task to know which one to press at the right time. At the moment, he was checking which ones had crates loaded, marking the ones without with post-it notes. He quickly checked the electrical systems, the motor units and the batteries, before checking the cargo again. Mostly just knick-knacks...
"We might have a problem Captain."
"Why?"
"One of the crates we are carrying aboard is a hazchem one. It's a consignment from AREM co."
"And?"
"It's a special shielded container holding 20 drums of medium-level nuclear waste."
''That could be a problem..."

OOC: I assume we have a naval station here, if not I will change the post.
Mokan Naval station, outside the Embassy complex
First off the Mokan naval station here was nothing compared to Puerto Vallarta or even the Paradisa Naval station. The max it held was 10 OK-PCL-1 Tomahawk Class (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=538357), when finished, which it still wasn't. As of now it was busy preparing for the hurricane with 4 Tomahawks actually stationed here.
"Commander we just got word that a Fegosian transport plane is landing around here, emergency style."
"Shit, I hope it doesn't have anything to bad on it. Very well, prepare the trucks to assist with it in case anything does happen. When does the fleet arrive?"
"two days, they are bringing a marine division to help with the clean up. We are not required to assist them with logistics, however we will be under the command of the admiral when he gets here."
"Very well contact the militia HQ notify them of the situation."
"Aye Aye sir."
TO: AHSCA Militia HQ
FROM: Mokan Fleet station
We have the 19th AA Fleet ariving in two days with 20,000 marines to help with anything you may need. As of now we are preparing to have a team meet the Fegosian Air ship as it lands. Please froward to anyone who needs it.
"It sounds like Mokostana has headed our calls. Shall I inform Shino?"
"Best not, the storm is gaining strength."
Thunder crashed. Shino was scared, very scared. Marcella seemed calm enough but scared enough.
"Mama? How many hurricanes have I been through?"
"Well Marcella, this will be your first."
"My first?"
"Hmhmm."
"How many have you seen mama?"
"Quite a few. But as for your papa, this will only be his second."
"Only second?"
"Yes. Stay put I need to get more water."
Shino forced the hut door open to place the buckets outside to gather up rain water.
"Brace for impact guys! We're going to be braking rather rapidly when we land."
The captain hit the airbrakes as he emptied most of the hydrogen from the emergancy release valves, a tiny amount left for the final landing. He tilted the airship forewards slightly to allow for the graident of the ground coming up.
"This is LNZ-811, we are coming in on our final approach. Please make ready for emergancy landing. We also need to inform you that we are carrying HAZCHEM aboard: quantity is a single shielded crate containing 20 drums Medium-level Nuclear waste. We need to offload all cargo, especially this, to minimise damage during the storm and losses."
The airship dropped lower, preparing to touch down.
"Roger, we have you on RADAR proceed with utmost caution. Emergency crews are on the way."
"This'll be fun. At least this time we've got something to try and secure us."
The airship came in over the embassy area, a massive airfield being the only area it could touch down. As it came to the ground, four harpoon guns fired, the projectiles deeply embedding themselves in the soft ground as the engines moved up to enough power to keep the craft still. As ground vehicles arrived, the underside doors on the main gondola opened, allowing the crates to start being unloaded. Most were long plastic crates, stacked upon each other on the ground, covered in a variety of company logos. The one of interest was a much larger case made of concrete, re-enforcing spars across its surface. It was lowered onto the ground as the rest of the crates were dropped off about it, before the airship moved itself towards the right-hand side of the airfield, leaving the crates near the side. Extra tethers appeared as the secured the airship to the ground with long steel pegs, metal cables and extra ballast, while deflating the inner gas cells to increase its buoyancy.
In the gathering winds, the crew now finished began running off the airship quickly, carrying between them small aluminium crates of emergancy supplies, medicines, clothing and all the engineer tools. The last man dragged behind him a large unit on a sled, a generator with a large hydrogen cylinder strapped on.
"Lets get to cover, and wait for this to blow over!"
Embassy Compound Workers came out instantly to help. Most of them were AHSCA natives from all of the islands. They carried in supplies and treated anyone who was injured in the hard landing. "Come come, the storm is gathering strength!" They urged them inside the Compound. It was mostly empty as most delegates had left.
Alya was one of the young aids in the compound. She made sure everyone was doing well. Still she worried about her sisters back on Animalpolis. Sure one was married and had children and a husband, but Mika was still young and didn't have anyone. She was all alone.

George had gotten back in from the storm after watching to make sure nothing bad happened with the massive airship. Coming into the hut he was soaked by the water from the storm, it was getting bad.
"Hello amor, You wouldn't believe how bad it is out there."
He took off his wet clothes after helping Shino close the hut door close again, for ever since the Mokan Naval station got up and running he had a nice set of work attire. Mainly Combat pants and a few shirts that were slowly becoming rags. He kissed his wife and dried off.
"These are always interesting aren't they?"
He held his wife and daughter close and waited to see what happened next.
Crash landing site
Six Mokan Trucks rolled into the embassy complex, each had 20 men in the back, totaling 120 men coming to help secure the massive airship and hopefully secure the nuclear waste before anything went bad. Sargeant Chavez looked for the islander in charge and informed them that the naval station had a bomb shelter that they could keep the nuclear waste in, depending on size, if it could fit on the bed of a transport truck then they would be good.
"Your back, I'm so glad." She kissed him and helped him remove his wet cloths.
"It does seem to be getting worse, doesn't it. We'll just have to hope for the best."
She leaned against him as he held her and Marcella, wrapped in a nice blanket to keep them all safe and warm hopefully. The hut was strong but only so strong.

"I reinforced the hut since last time a big storm came but I don't know if it will last, if it is not to late can we make it to the nursery, or do you think that it is already full?"
"It probably is full by now. And Commander Rosette already has her hands full I'm sure. If it gets any worse we can probably move inland."
"Thankyou for that: where's the nearest shelter?"
Themen were now struggling against the strong winds hitting them, not turning back to look at whatever damage the airship was taking. A few crates fell over, loosing cardboard boxes of clothing.

Mokans ran up to assist with the unloading of the airship. What they could load on to the trucks was being prepared to be stored in Mokan bomb shelters for the storm. Those who could tried to find ways to make sure the airship would become loose, using extra cables brought from the base and looked for things to tie it down to.
"Storm heading towards us," said the operator as the bridge captain watched the island becoming busier and busier.
"Radio operator," started the captain. "Sent a message to the island and ask them if they need any help with the storm and tell them we're about ten hours away from their position," finished the captain as he looked at the radar and the storm across the island.
The captain looked behind him to the sight of six frigates, five destroyers and ten troop transport ships carrying nearly a thousand trained Lynion Hunters and regulars. He watched as thunder clashed above them.
"All air crews are to be grounded while we're passing through this storm," ordered the captain. "Pass the word around to keep an ear out for any radio activity. Pass word to the admirality at Port Tarius about what's happening,"
He thought to himself, praying he had made the right decision.
"Thankyou for that: where's the nearest shelter?"
Themen were now struggling against the strong winds hitting them, not turning back to look at whatever damage the airship was taking. A few crates fell over, loosing cardboard boxes of clothing.
"Come inside quickly, you will be safe there."
The bridge captain watched the storm overhead as one of the last of the captured gunships ignoring the order was strucked with a lightning bolt from the storm. He watched the gunship become consumed into the cyclonic waves as the waves crashed against the side of the ship.
'Is this a good idea?' he thought to himself. 'Of course it is,'
The men rushed inside the shelter indicated, before slamming the door behind them. The co-pilot opened one of the 5 metal cases removed from the airship, revealing a range of communications and electronic equipment. He drew out a plastic case containing a laptop, and started it up on the emergancy battery it held. One of the engineers took out a small transmitter unit from the crate, setting it up on its tripod and unfurling a silver dish.
"I'll have to broadcast all of this outside, so if anyone wants an important message sent, it'll have to be quick."
Another man was chewing on an energy bar in the corner.
Some of the workers urged to go fetch the security leader. They didn't want every nation finding out about the hurricane to take advantage of it. They didn't want a massacre of it's people.
"I'm Chief of Security, Emiliana, are you men all right?"
"We're all alright thankyou ma'am."
The co-pilot was busy recording a video message to their company, detailing situation, possible damages and calling for aid once this was over. He finished recording, transferring it to a portable memory device, slotted into the antenna.
"Just need to stay in here and weather it out."
"I'm glad. We'll have fresh cloths and blankets for you soon enough. I must ask though, the nature of your message you are sending."

As much as it pained Rosette to hear this news she knew that they had no choice.
"Understood. Be careful out there."
As militia commander she was the primary defense force for the island. This would be especially true of Shino were to die.
The Constitution stated: In times of natural disaster, the Militia commander would have equal powers to all Island Leaders including the Nation's High Duchess. Should any leader die in war, or disaster, the Militia commander or a selected Militia Soldier shall take charge."
Rosette didn't think Shino would be killed, or any of the leaders for that matter. Still she knew her duties. Now she had to deliver the message to Shino.

"Copy that, please stand by." She pondered. Mokostana would be a day late, thus more work for everyone else. But at the same time a strange nation would be arriving. The name wasn't on the AHSCA Ban List. "Rosette here, we welcome your help. Proceed to us as best you can, over."
"Copy that AHSCA," replied the captain. "We'll be arriving within 9 hours,"

"This is Commander Rosette, to the Mokostana Forces...We have a new nation coming in for aid, they should be here by the time the storm passes, over. We still value your aid if you still desire, over."
She turned the nobs to reduce the static.
Meanwhile other militia forces forces had their hands full hurdling those arriving late from their fishing to their homes. "To your home right now, let's go!" They shouted over the wind.
Unfortunately disaster can bring out the worst in people. A young woman who was hurrying back to her hut was held up by a strange man, and then sexually assaulted her. She screamed loud enough to reach the ears of the militia. "Freeze!" Without anything else they shot the man dead. "Are you okay madam?"
"Uh-hu."
"Get on to your home right away."
They threw his body into the sea. They didn't want to kill their civilians, but they had orders when under martial law.
The captain watched the hurricane move faster around the island while the warships contiune their course.
"Captain," said the weather operator. "The Hurricane will pass over the island by the time we arrive,"
The captain nodded his head as the frigates and destroyers formed a protective ring around the transport ship as they came closer and closer to the island.
Time before arrival: 8 hours.

We will arrive in 24 to 48 hours, I know you do not have the ability to house our fleet but do your best to secure the area as well you can, the marines will be there soon.
As on the situation on Aurora, Mokan Naval men, mostly dock workers and crew members donned flak vest and grabbed M4s to go out and assist the local militias with security. In total 150 men were now under the command of Rosette. They were also under orders to shoot to maim, not kill. Luckily the 5.56mm round would easily go threw a human body with ease.
"Captain, the storm has changed course," said the operator.
The captain smiled as the coast line came into sight more clealy.
"All ships, full steam ahead," ordered the captain.
Arrival time shorten: 4 hours
"If the storm is going to change course, are we going to only sustain damage to Aurora?"
"Not likely. Judging by the shift we're all going to still get hit, just not as hard as we thought. Aurora will take the hardest hit, Hoshino will also be a hard hit. Truce, Corona and Animalpolis will be moderate. Still don't take chances. Remember safety always comes first. Assume this storm will be as bad as we suspect. Okay, all Mokoans! We are now going to secure a landing for forces, let's do our best to get this going okay? I need a team of about six to head for the North Shore, and a team of three to move to the west shore. Half will come with me to secure this shore for a landing. If I am right the ships will try to circle around the storm thus they will come in from the south, especially if it's on a northernly track. Let's move!"

"Copy that ma'am, you three, take a jeep and get to that shore, you six, take a humvee and do the same, come with me everyone else."
These men were less soldiers and more just crewmen, even now the Tomahawk patrol boats were out to make sure all the fishermen were back inland. Doing quick runs over the popular fishing areas. Hoping not to find anyone.
"Copy that AHSCA," said the captain. "This is Captain Marcus to transport ship. I want you to land the 300 Lynion Hunters and the 700 Lynion Regulars. The regulars will land at the north part of the island while the Hunter's will land here,"
On board the transport ship.
"Captain Scott will take the Lynion Hunter's and land at the docks. Remeber we're actting as a peace keeping force not attacking," shouted the Colonel on board the transport ship.
The Lynion Hunters boarded their landing craft and started for the docks. As they landed, Captain Scott was greeted by militia as the waves crashed around the landing crafts.
"Don't worry: our message is just a request for help from the Alfegan government, plus a situation report to our company, assuring the radioactive waste is safe. It shouldn't be too dangerous for us to send it, should it?
While we're at it, is there anything you want to broadcast before we go outside to transmit?"

"No, go on ahead then." Emiliana contacted on the radio "Rosette?"
"It's getting chaotic out there, we have two major countries coming in, a hurricane blowing everything around, storm surge up to my knees half the time, and lightning galore."
"I understand, keep on guard."

"Naval Command, we have cleared the seas, coming back into base for hiding. I hope this bastard storm doesn't wreck to much."
"I hope not either, it could push construction back 4 months if it hits hard."
"wait, we have a boat out here. Looks like a fisherman still out at sea. I can't tell.....(to crew) Looks like we have a ship, fire a flare."
The 30 mm cannon turned and aimed over the ship, they hoped it just a ship that got loose from a port, but it case it wasn't they had to check. One round fired off and a red flare lit up the ever darkening sky....The captain looked through binoculars to check.
Rosette's attention on shore was grabbed by the bright flair.
"What the?"
She peered through her own bincolurs but couldn't see anything in the raging and dark seas.

We've just landed at the south point of the island and the regulars will be landing at the north point of the island. What orders do you have for us?
End message.
"Stand by." Emiliana said. With the storm they were having to do radio-tag with each other.
"Commander Rosette, the forces of Lynion have landed on the Southern Shores."
"Emiliana are they on Aurora, I'm not seeing them from my location, though it could be the rain."
"Lynion Forces, this is Lt. Emiliana from Embassy Isle, my superior wants to know if you have landed on the south shore of Aurora Island. She has been unable to see you thus far. Send up a signal flair, over."
Captain Scott heard the radio signal and could see the figures on the shoreline. He ordered no transformations into were-wolves until the natives were used to them. The radio operator sent out a green flare to identify their position.
Scott marched off the boat first and walked behind the a native before saying hello.
"Hello," he smiled. "It pays to watch the whole coastline,"
"Hi! I'm Commander Rosette, we've been speaking on the Radio! You must be Lynion forces!"

"Captain Jones of the 40th Regular Lynion Battalion," replied the catpain as the Lynion's came ashore with no equipment. "We've being sent to help the natives out. We were meant to be returning home after some naval practice's with the frigates,"
The regulars watched the storm starting to pass over.
An eerie calm came over. The storm wasn't over, it was just the eye. The sun was shining through and there was blue sky but there were walls of clouds surrounding them. "Okay, the eye is over us now, let's work fast!"
On board the frigate of Lynscet.
"Captain Jones and Captain Scott. The Squadron has to leave you on the island. I don't think the warships can take another pounding of this Hurricane. We're going back to base and we'll send out the Guardian Fleet to pick you blokes up," the captain said feeling sorrow enter his heart.
South part of the island.
Captain Scott swore his head as the transmissiom reached them. The squadron is going to leave them but he could understand why. He gave a ok reply back to the frigates as the landing craft's returned back to their warships.
North part of the island.
Captain Jones understood why it was require for the squadron to retreat but the Guardian Lynion Fleet would be passing them in three days so they might be able to leave unless things became worse.

"Mount up," ordered Captain Jones as the trucks waited for them.
He sat by an officer of Mokastana. He could tell these guys had seen the destruction of a Hurricane before. He watched the walls of clouds become green. He was a flash back.
Flashback.
Jones saw himself in the eye of a Fungi Hurricane closing on their position. He could feel the slimy feeling of a tentacle.
In reality
"Captain?" said his lieutenant. "Captain!"
The captain snapped back as the soldiers watched him for a moment.
"Don't worry, those guys are exticnt," said his lieutenant calmy.

The soldiers loaded up to get to the center of the island to help with Commander Rosette inland.
"We don't have much problems with the local people. A few might take advantage of the situation, but it shouldn't be to bad. We are mostly to help clean up and reinforce the manpower."
"You heard the man," shouted Jones. "No killing unless it's a matter of life or death,"
The Lynion's filed out of the trucks as the sight of destruction greeted them. Jones ordered ten men to take watch while the rest help the native's with the damage caused by the hurricane.
"At least there isn't a civil war to worry about during a hurricane," said the lieutenant to Jones.
Jones smiled and laughed as he placed his rifle over his shoulder as they started to help the natives.
"Right you are. I think you'll have your help from Alfegos very quickly, once the storm is finished. We have stations in Mokastana, so no problems. In actual fact, we were heading away from Mokastana when the storm came. Silly us tempting fate by trying to ride on the fast air currents out of Mokastana, right through the storm area. Anyway..."
The co-pilot stood up, then donned a thick waterproof, making sure it was tied on with bungees. He did the same with the transmitter, before tying himself to the door.
"I'll be as quick as I can."
A wall of rain and wind shot into the room as he opened the door, suddenly cut off as the door was slammed shut from the other side. For a minute, there was silence inside, save for the whine of the storm outside, interrupted by the occasional thunderclap. The door opened again, and slammed. Then man fell back inside, peeling off his sodden outer layer of clothers and untying the transmitter from him.
"I just about got a signal on the horizon. I had to go for the stratellite on the Mokan west coast intead of the east coast, and just about managed all the message until I got cut off. We got a short reply as well."
He plugged in the small memory unit, and watched as the official government seal appeared. It stayed for a few seconds, before cutting into a video message from the Alfegan homeland. A screen behind the talking figure showed he was from the foreign ministry.
"This message is directed to both AHSCA representitives at your location as well as the crew of the stranded airship. You all are not to worry, and are assured that the government will aid by shipping in whatever aid you need from both Mokastana bases and from the nearest colonies, arriving within 30 minutes of your request with progressive deliveries at 2 hour intervals.

The men folded up all the other equipment and out it back into the silver chest, locking the lid shut. They pulled up some blankets, as well as taking some from another chest, before lying down on the floor relaxing. One man was busy listening to an MP3 player.
"Anything we can do while we wait?"
"There's nothing you can do, except wait for the storm to pass. This may be an awkward time to ask, but your country wouldn't happen to have an Embassy with us would you? Afterall this is an Embassy Complex, and what better time to fill out an application?"

The MNS Shino made it back to port just in time for the storm to start again, this time the soldiers and supplies were locked inside the hurricane resistant bunkers and buildings. As for the soldiers inland, they stayed inside huts with people trying to ride out the storm.
A few of the huts were empty from islanders who decided to leave. But most of them still had people, willing to host the Mokan soldiers. One was Aara and her daughter Aki. A young single mother and a teenage daughter easy to draw the attention of predators, but they were armed but they trusted the soldiers and were happy to put them up for the remainder of the storm.
"Would you like more water?"
Mokastana
24-04-2008, 00:26
"No thanks, I'm sure I had plenty already."
In the corner his flak vest sat dripping, despite the ponchos the soldiers had used the water had gotten everywhere on their uniforms. So they sat hoped to dry off somewhat before the fleet arrived with clean fresh dry marines who got to ride on transports and aviod any of the storms effects. Of course they didn't get to enjoy camping with these young good looking women, the soldier thought to himself. One of the benefits of being stationed at this base was the leave. With an estimated 600 Mokan naval men stations at the Embassy naval yard they had become quite accustom to the locals. Many young conscripts dodging army time to join the Navy loved flirting with the young locals on the island.
However this was not the time for that, Petty Officer Edwardo Juarez reminded himself. Instead he smiled to the daughter and continued to dry off his equipment.
"I think they're a big rugged and handsom types." Aki said.
"I'll give you that." They both laughed quietly. They were in good spirits.

Ed heard them giggling to eachother, it was nice to be around a few beautiful women who thought he looked rugged, just maybe...
"So what do you two lovely ladies normally do during these storms?"
The captain looked around at the regulars as they sat quietly down in the hut. They started to talk about their new island home. As the water came through the tiny holes in the roof making it drench their new uniforms.
"At least it isn't slime," joked the corporal.
Everyone got a laugh out of that one as the Lynion Hunter captain arrived and looked around as the rain started to get heavier.
"Reckon it'll hold?"
"Sure it will," smiled the captain.
"I really don't think that now is the best time for such matters, especially if the embassy complex is blown away. Or worse, we end up being curshed by that airship coming loose."

Outside Mokan Seamen were trying as hard as they could to secure the airship in the eye as it passed over to bringing back chaos and high wind and water. Not sure what to do they decided that in the event that the airship got caught and began to threaten the embassy facility that the Humvees would have to fill it with 9x60mm rounds, well, those stuck in the mud at least, the rest had gone to base for safety.
The two giggled. "We usually just hope and wait for the best."

The captain had just peered out a gap between the storm shutters of the building, and could see the Mokan soldiers fiddling with the airships. A humvee was parked near them, the turret aimed at it.
"As if that's going to do anything? Come on. That just embarasses me. If it was a tank, then I might be slightly more considerate, but a peashooter like that? They'll be shooting at it for at least an hour before they get any noticable effect. Plus I do actually want to fly outta here instead of having to go through the repair crews coming and fixing it. Or dragging it off somewhere and breaking it even more. Can someone tell them just to tie it down and for them to get their arses away from it?"

The few men left held on to a rope attached to a mud stuck Humvee that lead back to a decent size hut a few yards away. Their panchos tore in the wind and water as they backed off, leaving the giant airship and mud stuck hummers behind them.
"Finally, common sense, as long as that building is very firm indeed..."
The captain walked away form the window, and started chewing on an energy bar and had a swig from a bottle of juice.
"So, anything to do while we wait the storm out?"

Shino awoke with Marcella still her arms. Rays of sunshine were peering through the moderatley damaged hut. "Morning Marcella."
"Morning Mama."
"You have been a very brave and good girl through this."
"I have?"
"Yes I'm very proud. Thank goodness it wasn't worse than this."
"What do we do next?"
"We have to make sure the storm is truly over."

George looked out, the storm clouds were on the horizon, but by the look of it they were leaving. He sighed as one more storm passed and tore the islands up.
"Sir, look over there!"
One of the naval workers from AHSCA station caught his attention, from the other direction the Mokan Fleet had arrive with the marine division to help with the cleanup.
"Yes the storm is finally passing."
"Yay!"
Even though the worst of it was over the hurricane was still spouting off small rouge thunderstorms. As night began to fall more of these storms were coming and going.
Rosette surveyed everything. "Well by the looks of it, I think the big storm has passed us Milady, now just the smaller storms are coming."
"Thank you Rosette. You should get some sleep."
"This isn't over until we are finished Milady Shino. Until then, I need to be alert to keep the peace."
Shino gave Rosette a kiss and wished her luck. Rosette went to greet the Mokoan fleets that were now arriving. "How are things at embassy isle?"
"Things are ship-shape Rosette. Everyone is begining to get some carbine fever."
"Ah well, try to keep them at bay. The seas have calmed down but it's dark and I don't want people to get lost. Come morning they should be able to help more."
"Roger."

A day earlier, near AHSCA...
The small Red Tidean bulk freighter was owned by the Red Tide Intelligence Commissariat, run by the Commissariat, and crewed by the Commissariat. Usually it spent it's times smuggling weapons to out-of-the-way dictatorships that Red Tide propped up. But ocassionally... it was given special missions.
This was one of those times, and, as per Murphy's Law, something had to go wrong... like the storm...
The freighter was lost with all hands, as it slid under the ocean, it did not broadcast a SOS message, it was under orders not to do so. However, it's 'cargo' was not lost, although it would take forever for the Red Tidean's too figure out what happened to the freighter and it's cargo.
A Coronan Beach, The Next Morning
It was on the beach where the soldiers of the State Guard had stormed ashore, bringing about an era of death and oppression in the small island of Corona, that the box washed ashore. The box, on first glance, seemed like nothing special. It was labelled, in Cyrillic, ETS-01. It was about 9 feet long, resting on its side, and seemed like a plain, old wooden box.

When they approached the target area the helicopters looked for a place to land, but upon seeing none they let the marines repel down to the beach to meet up with the Miltia. The box did not at any point or time during this whole ordeal, detonate in any way, shape, or form. Even when the box was dropped at a modest height from the helicopter, it did not explode. Any scanning of the box would detect no radioactive material, chemical agents, or explosives. Although a metal detector would pick up a fair bit of metal.

In the embassy complex a few marines were cleaning up when they got a call on the radio. It was from the admiral. They now had to go find the person of charge of the Imperial forces and get an idea of what is going on, since they seemed not to respond to any channels, and hacking theres would be more trouble then it was worth.
The marine captain ran up to an Imperail worker and asked who was in charge here.
On the small island five marines sat around the crate and waved to the helicopter as it flew back to the fleet to be refueled. With that one of the used a crowbar to crack the crate open and take a look inside.

The monitoring device was constantly scrolling through text in Cyrillic. Next to the monitoring device and screen was a keypad. Floating inside the cylinder, which was filled with a greenish-colored liquid, was a beautiful young woman.
She was 5 feet, 8 inches, was a brunette with hair which had grown down to her back, somewhat pale skin, and was completely in the nude. Pads with wires that led up to the monitoring device had been placed on her wrists, feet, and forehead. Over her mouth and nose was a breathing mask and hose that also led up to the monitoring device.
She was apparently fast asleep (perhaps, unconcious?) inside the cylinder.

Any other upgrades not needed at present, so it would be unlikely you could get clearance to see the Duchess."

Outside the marines continued cleaning up the islands, the 20,00 plus manpower along with supplies made much of the work quick and easy, however most of the troops would have to spend a few nights on the island to finish the job.

The marines in HAZMATs suits grabbed her and she fell, and laid her down on a bed near her....box. The floor was soaked due to the liquid and two men began mopping it up and draining it back into the box. Men began hooking her up to machines and making sure she was healthy and scanning to make sure she wasn't infected with anything.

"Hello?" She suddenly found herself asking... in Russian. "Who are you? Where am I?"
In spanish:
"Russian? Does anyone here speak Russian?"
The soldiers looked around to see if anyone in the room did know russian, so far no one did, however that did not mean no one on the ship didn't Surprisingly enough, there were many Mokan people of Russian Decent, a little above 4% or so. Going back threw the Mokastana's past it would be noticed that Russian was the first language taught in Mokan schools, for over 30 years. Making it a very common language.
The Corperal ran outside to look for a member of the crew who spoke Russian, the doctor in the next hall was fluent in both Spanish and Russian, and walked over. Quickly donning a HAZMAT suit, because they did not want to contaminate anything in the room, especailly the crate she was in. He came in....(I am assuming she has tried other languages by this point)...and said hello in Russian.

It took a moment for her to realise that:
A: She understood them.
B: She just spoke their language.
After getting over the initial shock, she began repeated what she had said, this time in Spanish.
"Where am I? Who are you?"
