Athenae Magnus
12-04-2008, 20:31
WNB Broadcast transcript: 4/12/08. 5:00 Am Standard Time

The streets of hundreds of towns and cities, including the Capital, have rocked Athenae Magnus for the fifth day in a row. Members of the minority party "Athenians for a Christian Majority" have withdrawn from the government and taken to the streets in protest at the recent measures to treat developing fetuses with chemicals that permanently alter their sexuality. Hundreds of thousands of protesters and counter protesters were seen clashing in steets, thoroughfares, highways, plazas, even inside several public buildings.

The public schools of North Attenbown had to be closed after a fight broke out between children of gay and straight parents at a High School (name not given due to anonymity restrictions and the safety of the students, parents, and faculty). It's been reported by police that parents of the children rushed to the school after being notified and proceeded to engage in fighting on the premises.

700 people have been hospitalized in all, it is not yet known which side has suffered the most.

50 people had to be hospitalized following two bombings at a local clinic which has been part of the homosexualization program. Ten doctors, five nurses, five firemen, and 25 patients and passersby were injured along with five people believed to be responsible for the bombings. There have been alleged counter-bombings at three churches resulting in three hospitalizations.

Martial law has not been ruled out by the President, Angelo De Orvaa, but as of yet no order has come down. Quoting the president:

"I am saddened by the recent turn of events; the people of Athenae Magnus will not sit idly by and allow violence to overtake our streets. I call upon both sides to put down their stones, to take their hands off one another and sit down at the table of peace and brotherhood.

I have not yet made provisions to issue marshal law, our local and state police forces are well equipped to handle the tumult we have been experiencing.

Schools will not be closed unless violence is occurring on or near the premises, all government services and benefits are still being provided and the state banks will be open unless, again, violence is occurring nearby.

We ask the people of Athenae Magnus to stay strong, stay patient, and continue to work for a better future"

The leader of the ACM (Athenians for a Christian Majority) has declined an interview. It is not yet known whether the bombings have been carried out by the ACM or if they are the work of independent terrorists.
