KROGSTAD- After 18 months of marriage, the Royal Family announced today that Kristen, Queen Consort of Hryvinia was pregnant.
According to the press release, Her Majesty is 3 months pregnant with a single child. The sex is currently unknown.
Queen Kristen hasn't been seen in public in over two months, leading some tabloids to speculate she had become pregnant or fallen ill. The spokesman for the Royal Family had steadfastly denied the rumors until today, when His Majesty the King himself confirmed that his wife was indeed pregnant.
In a press conference, the King stated that he was "overjoyed at the prospect of parenthood," and went on to state that he wishes his father the late King Harald VII were still alive to see this.
"He always wanted to become a grandfather. Unfortunately, the Lord took him before I could help him realize his dream but I know he'll be smiling down on my wife and I," the King said in a statement.
King Sverre IV also put to rest rumors that he would return to the Hryvinian national football side next year for the World Cup, stating that "between running a nation and fatherhood, I won't have time for football...it's time to hang up my cleats for good." He then added that "the rewards from raising a child will far outweigh any trophies from football."
