The Zillar Invasion (FT, Closed, ATTN: Xiscapia, Alversia)
Wuin system
There was a green flash, and a fleet or Zillar warships appeared inside the system. The Zillars were desperately looking for a new homeworld, since their homeworlds were being attacked and colonized by different empires (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=552068). Then, just as all hope was lost, the Zillar fleet found a perfect system to colonize and have a new homeworld. However, they had no idea someone else had already controlled the planets of the system. Nevertheless, the Zillar fleet of 80 warships entered the system, getting close enough to be detected.
If anyone stood in the way of the Zillars, they would be killed.

Scanning Officer Slade stared in disbelief at his readings, yellow eyes glowing reflected green from the screen before him. The Wuin system had an extensive network of sensors, scanners, drones, automated weapons and other technology, both offensive and defensive, all controlled and maintained in the Primary Defense Control Center. Slade's job was that of interpreting Sensor/Scanner readings and verifying exactly what the machines were telling the base. And right now what the sensors were telling him was terrifying. Eighty ships of unknown origins had just entered the system, unannounced and uninvited.
Only the insanely powerful or the incredibly paranoid roamed the cosmos with such a large fleet. There was no question about it: This was a war-fleet. "Officer on the watch!" he shouted, waving his hand wildly, tail swishing about in excitement. The current commander strode over to him. "What is it, Officer?"
"Commander, sensors indicate that a fleet of eighty ships of unknown origin have just entered the rim of the system!"
"Warships?" asked the Commander sharply.
"Unable to say, sir, but scans show that weapons are present on board all the vessels scanned thus far."
"Continue scanning. Contact me if the fleet does anything more."
"Yes Sir," said Slade, but the Commander was already shouting to the Communications Officer. "Get me the Governor, now!"
Drakko city, Imperial Mansion...
"Message from PDCC Commander for you, madam."
Drell (http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?media=http%3A%2F%2Fi202.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Faa149%2FMoonLitNightSky%2FTaki.jpg&searchTerm=taki&pageOffset=13) turned from her meditation exercise on the floor, opening her orange eyes to look at the servant. "I'll take it here, please." she murmured, and the servant bowed herself out, the screen behind Drell coming to life to display the PDCC Commander's nervous visage. His off-white ears twitched, showing distinct concern and telling Drell more than she could even discern from expression and tone alone. "Commander," she inclined her head as she turned once more, still sitting, to face him.
"Governor Drell," he panted, "we have a situation. A fleet of eighty unidentified ships has just appeared at the far rim of the system. Our scans so far tell us that they appear to be armed. No message from any has been received as of yet."
Drell wasted no time. "Contact Xiscapia and the Alversian garrison in-system and inform them of this. Once done transfer a message to our Garrison and fleet to prepare for potential combat. Only then, Commander, should you contact the fleet and inquire as to their nature and origins."
The Commander nodded. "It will be done, Governor."
From that point duel messages went out to the Alversian presence in-system, though they doubtlessly already knew of the fleet's presence via their own equipment, and to Xiscapia, specifically to the capitol, Rio Casa. A third message went out to the lieutenant general and Rear Admiral in charge of the Xiscapian Grand Army garrison and the Xiscapian Imperial Navy Task Force charged with protecting the Wuin system, respectively.
The last message went out to the fleet invading the system. Even though they had been in the system mere minutes the ships were already being targeted by automated turrets, missile platforms, laser batteries and various kinds of cannons, some manned, most A.I. controlled.
Unknown vessels, you have breached Xiscapian territory. Please halt your advance, power down all weapons, and state your origins and nature of your presence. Failure to comply will result in the use of deadly force, and will be regarded as an act of war.
OOC: Sorry for the short post, but I'm going to ask both Alversia and Greal to post their replies and then refrain from posting until I have, as there is some unfinished business in other threads that must be attended to so this may continue.
The Zillar ships were surprised, someone did rule those colonies, well, they needed to get rid of them.
"Surrender to the Zillar Republic or be exterminated."
The eigthy warships continued moving toward the nearest planets. The Zillar ships charged their big lasers and got their Ion cannons ready, they waited.

The Observer Promise was on her usualy prowl of the Xscapian and Alversian systems, always staying just outside of sensor range, she never got very much information as she had to run at very low power to even get passed the sensors. The Promise was one of five Calaverian Observers that had escaped the chains of the Greal Empire. She was getting old, her technology still dated to HOME, none the less she was deadly with her cannon and compliment of fighters and ground assault. Newer Observers were being drawn up, ones that could handle flexiable targets, but she was not to become the new generation. Surveying the battle she sat idly not responding...observing.

Drell took the short review of their forces, plus several thousand automated and manned defensive platforms. The ships alone weren't enough to beat off the fleet, but perhaps, with the help of the defenses, they could injure the aliens bad enough to make them retreat.
"Surrender to the Zillar Republic or be exterminated."
The intentions of the enemy were now quite clear. The Battleship Qonn, flanked by the Cruisers Plauge and Contact, were in orbit over the planet. On the bridge of the Qonn Rear Admiral Yall had a plan laid out, but it would only work depending on several factors. He needed Alversian support to stonewall the Zillar fleet in the system. If all went well, his plan would work magnificantly. If it didn't, both fleets would most probably be destroyed and the colonies, glassed or taken as spoils of war.
OOC: Basically, I need Alversia to respond. I'm also finalizing a treaty in one of my other threads, and because this is happening after the treaty, we would have the support of those who signed. Therefore I will wait until the Treaty has been signed before continuing so I might have help from my allies, realistically.

From the bridge of the Alversian Dreadnought, APS Colossus, Rear Admiral James Franks watched in shock as the large fleet approached the system. They had only 9 warships in total and the Xiscapians hadn't much more. His own scanners had yet to reveal how heavily armed the vessels were but he knew that the Pearl, an AA Cruiser, would be of little use in the coming fight.
He hailed Drell and gave him a bow,
"I hope you have a plan" he stated simply.

Drell nodded. "Rear Admiral Yall has informed me of our battle plan. The collective allied fleet will stonewall the enemy for a short time while the fighters and small craft bomb their capitals, ensuring that they cannot reach the colonies. This will make the enemy fleet come completly into the system to engage us, where they will be outflanked and broadsided by our weapons platforms and drones. A relief fleet should be arriving to reinforce us against these "Zillars", from our allies the Tanarans and perhaps the Muri can provide troops. But speed is essential, otherwise this system will fall."
A message had already been send to the Tanaran Empire and Pamalta, but Qonn only knew how long it would take for them to assemble a fighting force and get to the system.
The true mettle of their new allies out be tested here.

OOC: You said eighty warships, the current number only gives you half of what you said originally.
""Admiral we've received a new tasking, marked urgent" The Sword of Fate's senior comm officer reported, handing the Admiral the dispatch padd.
The Xa’ Cz’inni Admiral, Camelöke'wen ah'tah Noh Varrr'nn, small and lithe - obviously of the Zerr'th gens rather than the S'vrrash gens took the padd in one long fingered paw. Scanning it quickly she gave a series of orders that when executed dropped her small task force out of their previously planned route and on to an entirely new one. They had been heading for Xiscapia as 'presents' for their new allies.
And aboard the twenty ships all went to battle readiness. Even though the four capitol ships of her command were 'relatively' slow and ponderous in normal space, with the DTD- DeSitter Translation Drive they were as fast over interstellar distances as the sixteen Battle Cruisers that made up the rest of the task force.
They would be there in minutes.
"Have this ready to transmit to the Xiscapian and Alversian forces the minute we enter normal space" She encoded a reply to those who waited their arrival. She knew well that battle might already be joined, but by doing what they did normally - which was emerge into normal space well out side the solar system proper, they could then micro jump in behind the invading fleet and coordinate with the Xiscapians and Alversians to crush the invaders between them. And a Gun Orb made a very nice anvil, and the hammer strike they could deliver could crush planets...
And by the time she settled comfortably into her seat on the battle bridge they were translating in, then out of DeSitter Space, out into the depths about the Wuin System.
The Sword of Fate's comm officer tapped a key and the encrypted message sped forth to the Primary Defense Control Center...
At other stations the Sensor Officers were bringing up the tactical display.
The four Gun Orbs made a diamond formation as the swift and lethal-in-their-own-right Battle Cruisers moved to complete the three dimensional star pattern that provided initial optimal positioning for the micro jump to come. All twenty of the warcraft were interlinked, their Shivas communicating and working as one.

"That quickly?" asked Rear Admiral Yall. "No matter: Transmit our battle plan to them. Their coordinates put them in perfect position for a maximum damage execution."
Tanaran fleet, we have very little time: The Xiscapian Wuin Defense Fleet and Alversian VII Fleet will block the enemy ships from reaching the planet. Our scans show that their smaller vessels, frigates and cruisers, are at the front, so our ships can hold them for a time. Their heavier Battleships and Super Destroyers are positioned at their flank, while the rest of the ships are in the middle. Our weapons platforms are scattered all around the system, and can target and fire upon the ships in the middle. It will be up to your force to strike their flank and decimate them at the rear while the Allied fleets destroy their front and the defenses destroy the middle. With this they will be surrounded and we will pound them into submission. The second our fleet and their clashes you must strike.
Slint, Drakko City...
Drell was standing in her observation room, watching though the Defense Fleet's cameras and the hundreds of view points from the weapons platforms. If their plan did not work, if the Allied fleets were destroyed, Slint was doomed. The Alversians were the closest to the system, but they could not possibly hope to summon forces in time to prevent the Zillars from landing or simply glassing them from orbit. Drell had picked the Rear Admiral and Lieutenant General herself, and if they did not pull though, she would take full responsibility.
Assuming she survived.
But the Xiscapians, Alversians and certainly the Tanarans had faced worse odds against more powerful, determined enemies before. Drell was confident they would win.

Franks nodded at the instructions that had come from the Xiscapians and now looked over the scan results that he had just received. It was obvious that the Dreadnought and Battlecruiser heavily outgunned the Zillar ships and the Cruisers could take them on as equals. The Destroyers were outmatched in terms of firepower but Franks had faith in each individual Captain to use his ship's advantage to their best effect.
Then he saw the Tanaran forces appear on scanners and his heart leapt slightly. With their combined strength, they could face the Zillar on equal terms if not on numbers. His fleet was ready for battle whatever happened. He sighed. A thin line of Alvo/Xiscapian ships were to hold back the flood while the Tanarans worked their way into the rear. It was going to be tough

OOC: I seriously don't know how to classify a Gun Orb - they are in a class by themselves given their size and weapondry.
And we won't really have to 'work our way around' - Tanaaran protocal is to enter a system from far enough out that once sensor readings give the over al placement of ships we just micro jump to where the best intercept point is
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Gentlemen, Ladies, our sensors show us the layout clearly plus we have recieved this communications from the Xiscapians
Tanaran fleet, ~snip~Their heavier Battleships and Super Destroyers are positioned at their flank, while the rest of the ships are in the middle. ~SNIP~ It will be up to your force to strike their flank and decimate them at the rear while the Allied fleets destroy thn ~snip~ you must strike.
We are going to be both hammer and anvil. Sword, Shield, Buckler," she looked at three of the Gun Obr's respective Captains over the multisided conference holo. "I want you all to take the two Super Destroyers, the three Carriers, and the five Battleships. Meemie, you're tasked to coordinate with the Battle Cruisers carrier compliments - integrate them into your own and I don't want to see a fighter thats not ours getting anywhere near the star of battle." The Admiral smiled - and on any Xa thats a ferocious sight - she knew her ships captains were all veterans and the crews equally so.
The Screamin Meemie's captain looked ready to protest but subsided. He had started out in fighters, and had been training his crew in some very unusual Orb and fighter integration techniques.
"We'll jump in five, I want our first fighters flushed in ten" She knew that would give them barely enough time to stablize from the micro jumps but combat immediately post jump was something crews drilled for interminiably. And since all the Shivas, as they called the dedicated Battle CS's ( Cybernetic Sentinences ) were integrated and not only capable of independant though but of a cybernetic gestalt in which allthe ships could act as one with no time lag...
The four Gun Orbs would anchor a star of battle unlike anything the other militaries involved had ever seen. Gun Orbs were generally found only one to a battle, but the Admiral had four at her disposal and she was inclined to use all of them. She prefered a hard hitting, massive slash as a first attack.
And the first ship killer missiles - the massive and massivly destructive Multi Drive Laser Missiles MK V - would go out just hearbeats after that. A Gun Orb could launch 160 at once should they chose to fire all 'tubes' at once.
One of the Zillars muttered something on one of the capital ships, and 20,000 ball like Missiles, at very incredible fast speed, headed toward the allied fleets. Most of the missiles came out of the small battleships and battleships.
The Zillar ships took up positions along the fleet. Zillar pilots were getting into their fighters and waited for the missiles to hit the allied fleets. Even if the Xicaspian fleets blow the missiles apart, the force of the explosions coming from each missiles would surely cause electrical problems from each ship. Each missile was equipped with a massive amount of energy, and a special device to disrupt the ships. (OOC: Kind of like a EMP)
"We have twenty thousand plus contacts incoming." said the Sensor Officer aboard the Qonn.
"Point-defenses target and destroy." said Yall calmly.
Intercepting missiles streaked out to meet the Zillar projectiles, detonating once within the field of missiles and causing hundreds of missiles to explode at once. The weapon which had been deployed experimentally against the Rebels and the Imitators, dubbed the Connector, fired, a single red flash of light. The laser actually hit a single missile and blew it apart, but it did not stop there. The beam abruptly changed direction and collided with the next missile, destroying it as well, and the next, and the next. In such a target rich enviornment the beam leaped faster than the eye could follow across space, making a spider web of explosions where the missiles had been.
"Rear Admiral, we've lost readings of the enemy fleet." said the Sensor Officer.
"Damn. What is it?"
"A primative form of Ion, sir, EMP. A screen has been deployed from where the missiles were destroyed."
"Switch to cameras and give me a magnified reality visual."
The cameras on the Qonn "zoomed in" on the Zillar fleet. No amount of EMP could stop simple lenses and wires. The Zillars were once again in Xiscapian sights.
"Missiles incoming!" One of the Ensigns called on the bridge of the Colossus. Franks turned around,
"Activate point defences!" He ordered to the Tactical Officer, with a nod he pressed a single button.
It seemed the Pearl was going to be useful after all. It was designed to destroy fighters and now it was going to work its magic on the missiles. It fired hundreds of lasers at once, a trick learnt from the Xiscapians. As soon as the laser hit one target it moved instantly onto another. The missiles were so close and the quantity of lasers on the Pearl as well as the other ships so great that a web of laser fire emerged in front of the Alversian fleet, protecting it from the missiles.
"Sir! We've lost scanner contact!" Reported the Communications Officer
"How?"
"Ion interference from the missiles"
"Switch to subspace scanners"
"Switching"
So the Cruisers flicked to their subspace scanners instead, another reality in space similiar to scanning hyper-drive. However, the machinery was bulky and only a Cruiser could take the alterations, and only the Scarlet-Class were big enough.
Hundreds of XX-30 Fighters from both the ships and ground units joined their APAAF brothers, the heavier F34 fighters in preparation to defend against the Zilliar fleet.
The point defences again activated for the missiles, none made it through the fierce and impenetrable laser fire. At the same time, the purple beams impacted on the shields of the Sanagrin, the Battlecruiser just off the Colossus bow. There was massive explosion that seemed to engulf the entire ship, yet when it had cleared the vessel still looked untouched, the weapon had blown against the shields and not pierced them. Although they did look as though they had been hit.
Now the rest of the Alversian fleet began to pour phaser fire and torpedoes into the Zillar fleet. The Dreadnought also fired her two Nova guns. Weapons so named because their firepower was said to match a small nova in terms of energy output. Two slugs headed straight for a Zillar Battleship. In Alversian terms they were doing Warp 31 when the fastest ship was only Warp 10
The missiles fired by the Zillar ships had not been aimed at the Tanaran's there wan't any certainty that they'd been picked up by sensors any way. With the order give the star of battle made the micro jump, as one, ending up, in no time behind the mass of Zillar capitol ships.
Ten seconds later several hundred fighters were lept into the dark of space and a hand full of heart beats after that the first Multi Drive Laser Missiles MK V's went out.
The seventy five tonne missile seared forth, two hundred of them, and all of them targeted at one of ten ships. 20 missiles for each - and each capable of destroying a capitol ship.
Expensive? Yes.
Over kill- Absolutely
Stopping the battle with one blow...Priceless
The fighters knew that the MDLM's would be coming so they made sure they never strayed near the launch coordinates as they headed for the melee of starfighters ahead.
The MDLM's waited only long enough for their onboard sensors to lock onto their targets, the Greal ships, then each disappeared in a flash of light as they microjumped to WITHIN their targets. Some had errors in lock, computing mirco jumps still was a bit of an art and not all of the missiles sensor arrays had it so to speak - but even if they did not come out into 'normal space' with in the physcial bodies, or at least within the shields, of their targets, they still emerged close enough that when they detonated, it would take massive shields indeed to stop the Graserr Spikes.
and those that came out with in the phi=ysical bodies of their targets...two objects can not occupy the same place in space time. Such interpolations were catastrophic violations...
The point defences again activated for the missiles, none made it through the fierce and impenetrable laser fire. At the same time, the purple beams impacted on the shields of the Sanagrin, the Battlecruiser just off the Colossus bow. There was massive explosion that seemed to engulf the entire ship, yet when it had cleared the vessel still looked untouched, the weapon had blown against the shields and not pierced them. Although they did look as though they had been hit.
Now the rest of the Alversian fleet began to pour phaser fire and torpedoes into the Zillar fleet. The Dreadnought also fired her two Nova guns. Weapons so named because their firepower was said to match a small nova in terms of energy output. Two slugs headed straight for a Zillar Battleship. In Alversian terms they were doing Warp 31 when the fastest ship was only Warp 10
A Zillar heavy cruiser was in front of the battleship was immediately destroyed by the enemy's Nova cannons. The Battleships and Super-Destroyers, added more energy, this time pure energy into their Death Rays and fired again. The Zillar Super destroyer only had 4 Death Rays, for a total of 20 in the whole Zillar fleet.
Captain Sanitarius calmy made the call " Open fire Lt., launch our fighters and keep out sheilds up, thank you." the officer turned " Yes sir, right away sir, anything else sir?" " No..." She opened up, the massive cannon unleashed, the power to pass straight through the super destroyer like she wasnt there. The plasma-ping shot out, it was basically invisible to see, except for the heat-wave look it showed.
Once again the Wuin system fleet blocked the incoming missiles, but the turbolasers and Ion took the shelds down to 86% percent on the Contact, barely scratching the Qonn's shields at a healthy 98% and missing the Plauge entirely. "Return fire." ordered Yall, and the Heavy Guns, MAC Cannons, Ion Cannons and missiles were unleashed upon the Zillars at the front.
"Sir, scans show an Observer has appeared at the mid-port of the Zillar fleet and is releasing Probe fighters to attack them!" shouted the Scanning Officer on the bridge of the Qonn in amazement.
Yall looked shocked. "Order all other vessels to not target them and intigrate our fighters with theirs."
The two hundred Shuriken class fighters streaked out in their Squadrons towards the Zillar frigates and cruisers, firing off antimatter missiles at where their bridges were estimated to be.
Another Zillar ship was taken out of action. It was hard to see the class of it since it became debris. The MAC cannons affected the carriers by bringing their shields down to 70%, but the Ion cannons had no effect. A Death ray was aimed and fired at the Qonn. Fusion Missiles and Fusion beams from the battlecruisers opened fired on the Alversian ships.
One Thousand, two hundred, and three fighters were unleashed, unlike other fighters, these fighters were light and fast, and armed with Blasters.
The Death Rays were more powerful but this time, the Alversians had learnt their lesson and the fleet was spread out enough to ensure that the shots flew harmlessly through the formation. Now however, the space between the fleets was filled with a combination of torpedoes, phaser fire and nova cannon rounds, all heading for different ships.
About 250 XX-30 Fighters of the APNAF joined in with their Xiscapian and Calaveran Comrades and took part in the vicious dogfighting. The XX-30 was famous for it's manouverability and firepower while the APNAF pilots were famed in the sector for their sheer quality in terms of training and experience. It was tough to find a service better and now they tore into the Zillar ranks with the experience that only a dozen wars and border conflicts could bring.
The Zillar battleship tired to move, but it was blown apart by the flanking maneuver. AA fire opened up on the fighters, and hundreds of Zillar fighters went off to combat enemy fighters.
The Zillar fighter pilots were sort of experienced, they had seen their homeland attacked by the Greal Imperial fleets, and they were powerless to stop them, but now, they were wanting revenge on the allies of the Greal empire.
The Death rays were now turned to attack the Xicaspain ships instead, the Zillars instead let off a volley of mines into space, the mines began exploding as soon as enemy ships moved by.
The Air Commodore in charge of the flight group gave a fox-like yip that was a laugh over the communicator channels to the Calaverans.
The Xiscapian fighters seperated from the Calaverans and screamed (or would have, if they had been sound) into the Zillar fighters, lasers shooting straight at the enemy and missiles dropping out and locking onto an enemy, following relentlessly until either it was destroyed or managed to get close enough to cause damage to the vessel it was pursuing.
Pushing forward so they joined the Alversian and Xiscapian lines the five white winged ships then opened fire with their massive plasma cannons in unison.
Their target was the biggest enemy ship in weapons range and all five beams after being fired left with a red flare like effect behind them.
If one hit a target would take massive shield damage at least, two hits would probally take it out for good. Five beams targeting one ship was overkill but they were making sure.
The shields were raised after firing but they still had phasers to call on while their super weapon recharged.
The Death rays were fired again and again at the big ships, since it was hard to miss. A Super Destroyer let off a broadside of Blaster and Turbo laser cannons at the Qonn. But, the Zillar admiral realized that he should have instead brought the whole home fleet to here, not part of it, now he paid for the mistake. But there still was time, all at once, the Zillar fighters quickly flew back, the Zillar ships jumped away.
they would be back of course, with more.
Losses: 2 battleships, 1 small battleship , 3 cruisers, 3 frigates
Two hundred of the massive ship killer missiles had been fired-
Twenty per each of Greal's capitol ships - the 2 Super Destroyers, the 3 Carriers and the five Battleships.
And while the Greal ships were busy dieing more missiles sped forth, lighter ones targeted at the lesser ships now as well.
The needle nosed star fighters (http://www.atddm.com/mmx1.jpg) tangled with their oppsoite numbers. Tanaran pilots were long expereinced , master of their fast and extremely agile craft. And the equally sleek missiles they carried as part of their coimpliment were very potent for their size.
Franks sighed as he watched the enemy go. The Alversians had lost no casualties and no ships destroyed although a few fighters had been lost in the brief maelstrom that had been the dogfight. Not that it mattered. In less than an hour, the Alversian IX and XII Fleets would be here to reinforce their position and they would be far stronger than they were right now, both in terms of quantity and quality.
World of Hurtrix, Greal Galactic Empire
Late again.
Admiral Reton arrived at the Naval headquarters on Hurtrix, he was always late for meetings, he didn't like them, but this one was different he was told, so he had to come. As he entered the building, two captains of his fleet were there to greet him.
"Admiral Reton." saluted Captain Franks. Captain Turn did the same.
"Never mind that, has the meeting started?" asked the Admiral.
"No sir." said Franks, surprised,"It starts at 10:00."
"But I was told....." said the admiral at first." Never mind, I guess I'll wait.Anyway, Captain Franks, how is the Tiger doing?" Captain Franks commanded the only SuperBattleship in Admiral Reton's fleet.
"Very good sir. We got some new weapons equipped." said Franks.
"That seems to be all the navy does these days, reequipping ships." said Admiral Reton sitting down at a chair.
30 minutes later
Introductions were made, and the naval officers entered the conference room and began discussing. Admiral Yurt spoke first.
"We have received reports, that the Zillars have attacked a Xicaspian system. "People began talking very fast around the room."Settle down people, the Zillars failed, not that I expected them to, the Xicaspians had help from various allies. the Zillar fleet left, taking many losses, but there is no reason to doubt that they will be back, with a bigger fleet."
"What exactly are you purposing?" asked one admiral.
"We send help to the Xicaspians, I know diplomatic relations are shaky, in the wake of the Berrax war, but this is a opportunity to prove that the Greal navy is very powerful, and can take on anyone." said Admiral Yurt.
"What fleet do you want to b sent in?:"asked the same admiral again.
"The 4th Assault fleet." replied the admiral
There was fast talking around the room, some of the admirals looked at Admiral Reton, after all, Admiral Reton lead the 4th assault fleet.
"I accept sir." said Admiral Reton
Wuin system
There was a blue flash, and the Greal Galactic 4th Assault Fleet jumped into the system. Admiral Reton was not nervous, he had fought all his life, and this was no difference to him. The Tiger was his flagship, and Captain Franks was with him at the bridge.
"Captain, send the message." said Admiral Reton
"Yes admiral." said Franks, then he went off to send a message to the Xicapians.
"This is Captain Franks of the Tiger. We are here to help. We have fought Zillars before and our computer will send all our data on them to your fleets. The Zillars, according to our estimates, have lots of ships, but their ships are not very powerful in weapons of shields."
As the Qonn was hit by the fire of the retreating ships it fired back, but the shields dropped only to seventy-two percent. The Zillars vanished into hyperspace, and Rear Admiral Yall cursed the fact that the Wuin system was not equipped with an Inhibitator Field to prevent the enemy from escaping. The allies had had the Zillars in their sights, only to lose them. There was only light to moderate shield damage on the three capitals, and the dogfight had been so short that a barely significant loss of three fighters accounted for it. Nevertheless, that was three pilots who would never see home again.
Shaken by the attack, Governor Drell opened communications with the N-K, the Alversians, the Tanarans and the North Calaverans. The message went like this, in a massively encrypted burst transmission as the Tanaran task force collected their fighters - the extent of their losses had be a handfull of fighters, the pilots in their life caps being scooped up and the Tanaran Taskforce seeming doing just that, heading to their original destination...
To:Xiscapian & Alversian Forces: Rear Admiral Vule & Rear Admiral James Franks & Governor Drell
From: Admiral Noh Varrr'nn speaking. You are most welcome, we were glad to help - However we are going to seemingly go on our way. However in our scoop up of our pilots we have left remote sensor drones, to extend the maximum range of our sensors. We are going to jump to outside the Wuin system in to interstellar space, and wait for a bit, just to make sure they don't come back, and that these Greali don't give you any porblems. We have a spare interdictior network that we can give you. Ot will prevent any jumps within the Frankel Limit save those using DTD's. I think we are the only ones here that use those.
So in a flash of coordinated jumps the Tanarans were apparently gone.
OOC: What the Interdiction Network will do if established:
What this will do is prevent ANY & ALL non DeSitter Translation Drive (DTD) from putting a warp gate, warp space entry/exit, sub- space, worm hole entry/exit, dropping in/out of warp etc - into the system closer than 80 AU (astronomical units) - that is just under 7.5 Billion miles from the stellar primary of the system - about 3 times the distance of Neptune to the sun.
Any one trying to 'jump' into the system will be bounced out to that distance from the sun of the solar system. Ie it gives the insystem fleets maneuvering room and time.
Any one trying to jump out of the system will simply not be able to untill they leave the interdiction area via normal space drives...
“First off, it was not our fault, we colonized planets that were populated by Remelars, then we went exploring other planets, and without warning at all, they assaulted us. There was a soft, warm yellow glow on the bridge of the Tiger, so different from the sudden, blinding flashes of light normally associated with transporters. The light desolved into a form that looked dark when compared to the light which had bourne him to the ship. The kitsune standing there had long, black hair with bangs that fell in front of his eyes, which were a dark green, a rarity not to be some varient of green or yellow for a Xiscapian. His fur was a pure white, tail curling around his black and purple robes. His skin was the color of weak tea, and he was a few inches shy of six foot, with his hands folded inside his robes, looking around the bridge without expression. He looked at Admiral Reton for a moment before making a smile that did not reach his unreadable eyes. "Greetings, Admiral. I am Ambassador Atox, here to oversee the search for the Zillars." he said with a bow.
Admirals looked at him in disgust for a second then he said:
"We know where some of their planets are, but they are well protected."
The Tanaran ships had watched silently taking in and assessing all the data.
"Greal?" The Admiral shuddered in disgust. "And the Xiscapians sent an ambassador over to them?" She said in horror. Sitting very still she sent her psionic abilities questing forth; searching for the one Xiscapian mind on the Greali ships.
Then she found it, and with little apology she sent the following message in the utter privacy of mind to mind communication"Ambassador you are in grave danger. The Greali consider you an abomination and will murder you. Do you want to be teleported to safety?"
Her Flag Captain set the task force on battle stations, readying them to jump and initiate combat the moment the Admiral gave the order.
"We know where some of their planets are, but they are well protected."
"Take me to the one you think might be their capitol, or center of operations. Once there, you will send me out in a shuttle, and your fleet will withdraw until either I signal that the negotiations are over, or they begin to fire on my craft." said Atox in a clipped fahsion. All the while he was listening to the telepahtic words coming to him from the Tanaran Admiral:
Ambassador, you are in grave danger. The Greali consider you an abomination and will murder you. Do you want to be teleported to safety?
Without any outward show that he was doing so, he messaged back though the link. Telepathy was one of the most common traits in Xiscapians that have any more than a drop of the Force, second only to nuturing and preserving life that made them such good doctors and healers, so this was nothing new to the Ambassador.
I am well aware of my standing among these people. My superiors have contagency plans in place should things go sour. To show mistrust or hostility now would ruin any chance of coming to negotiations with the Zillars. Please do not worry; I can take care of myself.
The fleet jumped with the ambassador on it.
"There it is."
The planet was a vast plain, but with a mountain range on the southern and northern poles
"Send the following message," ordered Atox:
Greetings to the Zillar people: I am Ambassador Atox, a member of the species of the colony which was just attacked by refugees of yours. We are the Kitsune Empire of Xiscapia. I come in hopes of making peace with you, so there can be no more fighting. We are aware of the Intergalactic Empire that has taken your lands though conquest, and we offer you safe haven, for your people and ships, inside our space. We will work, not only to find you new planets, but to help you keep the ones you still have. I may be on a Greal ship, but I am Xiscapian, and this is what I, and my people and government, are offering to you.
However, before the message was sent, a massive group of Zillar ships, many of them small battleships, approached the Greal fleet.
"They're coming! Prepare to open fire!" yelled the admiral, crews were running to their battlestations. Pilots were scrambling to their fighters.
As the ship opened fired, the message was sent. but the damage was done, and the person that sent the message looked at Atox nervously.
Atox gave a inhuman snarl and spun around, facing the tactical displays that showed how the battle was progressing. The message had been sent, but how would they ever take it seriously now that the Greali had opened fire on them? Atox knew he would have to board the Zillar flagship, or go down to the planet, to meet with the leaders. Only in person could he apologize and show the Xiscapians were serious about this. But first he had to ride out the battle...for win or lose, it didn't matter.
Chances were his own battle had already been lost.
The battle was short and fierce, ten Zillar ships were damaged by the Greal attack, and the Greal ships lost one fighter to friendly fire. No response was sent to the Xiscapian ambassador. The admiral, was slightly pleased with that. The radio operator waited in vain.
The Xiscapian ambassador might have felt he could handle any situation, but the Tanarans figured differntly - no insult to the ambassador, but they didn't trust the Greali as far as one could thow a small planet.
So when the Greali fleet jumped so did a small drone. Once there it would observe, place a coordiante marker, and return quickly if combat occured. Which with the Greali, being Greali, of course did.
The drone retured to the Tanaran taskforce with the information it had gathered.
Atox turned to the Admiral. "I want a shuttle, and I want one now. None of your crew did to come with, I do not need an escort. I will be flying down to the planet to try and repair our image from the damage you have done." He growled though gritted teeth. A aura of menace swirled around the Ambassdor, a suggestion that bad things would happen if he were denied.
The moment the ambassador was finished speaking, the whole ship suddenly shook so hard that crews were falling down.
An aide came forward.”One of the Zillar missiles hit the ship.”
“Dismissed.” Said the admiral, getting up from the explosion. He turned to the ambassador.”It was not my fault, they started the shooting.”
"No, Admiral, really: Take responsibility for your actions. You shot first. If you had stayed quiet and not engaged with weapons, we might have had a chance at peace. Now we are at war. Once more, I ask for my shuttle, and I will not ask again." said Atox softly, with a dangerious gleam in his eyes. It is not when someone is yelling when they are most angry, but when they are quiet and composed, with that cold inner fire that burns and freezes anything it touches.
“Unfortunately, ambassador, the combat shuttles are off limits to foreigners, such as you, unless you take the diplomatic shuttles, which are back at our homeworlds. We are going back to Xiscapian system, and you can get a shuttle there.”
There was very little hope of that working, but it was all a part of the plan.
At the same time that this was happening, the last of three Alversian Fleets arrived to reinforce their positions in the Wuin System. This was the XV Fleet, one of the most powerful in Alversian space. Although it had no super capital ships, Franks was nevertheless delighted with the forces that he now had under his control. An even more powerful fleet than before,
A heavily encrypted message came back to the Xiscapians "Our drone reports a short sharply decisive battle between a local fleet - we believe themto be a Zillar fleet and the Greali fleet - we are coordinating a jump to that system as of this moment. We will not interfere or reveal our presence unless needed. We are leeaving a FTL relay beacon here.
With that message done the Taskforce jumped to within a few light minutes of where the drone had followed the Greali fleet to...and began observing...including the unmanned suttle descending planetward - senseors were easily able to pick up the fact that no life formks were agboard the shuttle.
"I wasnt that shuttle captured and invesitgated" the Admiral ordered.
A minute later a transport beam latched on to the small vessel and it dieappeared in a faint sparkle of light. However it was NOT standard proceedure to tarnsport suspicious objects aboard, so the shuttle would reappear in deep space where upon starship quality shields would be projected about it. As that was being done the Gun Orbs A.I.s flooded all freqencies with jamming and lobotomised it shutting down it's engines and other systenms as they did so...
If it had been boobytrapped, well if it blew up the shields would contain the explosion and thus no harm would come to the task force...
And the ship would be subjected to multiple highly sensitive scans of a vast variety of such - the Tanrana disn't trust Greali launching unoccupied shuttles...it was too close to Greek bearing gifts...
Atox leaned against the wall, apparently brooding. But his mind was working in overdrive, considering factors. He could wait...but not much longer. Action had to be taken. Meanwhile, aware that he may have triggered a war between the Empire and Xiscapia. His flagship, the Tiger, was a massive super battleship and held a heavy armament. He did not like the look of the Tanaran fleet nearby.
25-04-2008, 23:07
The Neo-Kirisubans were still in Xiscapian space patroling the system the battle with the Zillars had been fought previously.
With the threat reducing against their Xiscapian allies they were now running uncloaked doing the same job they would do at home. Watch, observe and patrol and a squadron of five ships could do this more effiecently than one could.
If they were needed again all they would need would be a call for help.
Admiral Fujimoto-Calvert was going over the daily reports from the fleet under her command. She'd rather have been back on Unity with her children and husband but her old XO Nomi Wolf could run things in her abscence.
On her desk was a holo-picture of her twins, Jacob and Alyssa now three years old. They were both dark haired but Alyssa looked like her mother more.
Seeing her childrens faces made her smile and hope she'd be able to get back to where she called home soon.
The Observer looked curiusly upon the situation that was unfolding, something told the captain....War...
OOC: LOL Greal - you may not like the look of the Tanarans suddently appearing - what is your sensor range by the way? - they did come out several light minutes ( lets say 5 light minutes - that 11,160,000 x 5= 55,800,000 miles or about the distance of the sun to Mars ) away and thats no short distance - and for all appearances your shuttle that was heading down to the planet - it's just up and disappeared, or if your sensors are good enough, its been snatched by the Tanarans...
and I'm going to be generous and say that we jumped to the same side of the solar system as you did / are at and along the same plane of the ecleptic as you are- so that, no the sun is not interposed and thus NOT blocking most of your ships sensors ( suns have a very nasty habit of doing that)
OOC: So, wait, wait, wait. Your sensors are good enough to detect the minuscule variance in heat that comes with a lifeform aboard a shuttle, which is, incidentally, damn near impossible once you tack on the fact different craft travelling at different speeds disgorge different amounts of heat respectively making your "senseors" dodgy at best, but when it comes to detecting an entire fucking warfleet at approximately the same range with his sensors, you need to be "generous"?
I mean, seriously dude. You're the older, more experienced nation here. You're meant to be the one who stops the wank dead in its tracks, no?
OOC: My reply: These aren't low tech heat sensor readings - if I was using that I'd say that - I was speaking of Star Trek style sensor readings of wether there are or not life forms aboard the shuttle - and this is a ship in normal space transit...
And my task force is NOT a war fleet. It is four Gun Orbs and their escorts that were eroute to Xiscapia when they were diverted by a distress call. ( Though quite honestly it is more than enough of a war fleet, I'll give you that but number wise? meh...)
I don't know Greal's exact tech level with -in the FT variations - most of my tech is equivallent of that of the 29th century - yes there is time travel available in my nation. ( Do I use it much - hell no, but it has been played out before and I can link to the rp's if needed )
And yes my being "generous ' was sarcastic, and not merited so, Greal, my sincere apology
but the question of your sensors picking my ships up still stands - it's perfectly acceptable to me if I am within range of your sensors - I just need some indication of what your tech can do.
OOC: Ah. Technobabble sensors. My bad. Did you conflabtulate the vibrating psionic singularity crystal array? Remember, if you reverse the polarity, you can self-destruct any Klingon mind-control devices within fifteen gargulons.
And seriously, no major nation worth its salt doesn't have serious temporal protections in place. Time travel doesn't happen mainly because almost everyone can prevent it in relation to their nation, and do so on a regular basis. I'll leave you to the thread, though. Have fun.
Atox leaned against the wall, closing his eyes as if in despair, but actually reaching out with the Force, back to the Tanaran Captain. This was not actually necessary, but the kitsune was not as strong in the Force as he would like an needed crutches like blocking out any potential distractions. He prayed to Qonn she was still there...if not, his escape plan would need to be considerably more elaborate...and destructive.
Captain, if you are still there, I will need to be beamed away to a fast transport. I believe the Greali have erected anti-beaming devices around my cell to prevent this from happening, so I will destroy them. However, this will surely raise the alarm, and the moment they go down, I will message you, and you must retrieve me. Xiscapia has already been told of the news, but your fleet is closest.
The doors banged unceremoniously open and Chief Ambassador Vanadict strode in. Servants scurried both away from and towards her, faces colored by fear, agitation and curiosity. She answered no questions but proceeded at a rapid clip though the hall and into the room beyond, servants automatically clearing away from her path, leaving behind a horde of inquisitive kitsune.
The two Black Guards moved aside for her and one handed a report. She scanned it and tossed the paper onto a table, seating herself in front of a holo console. Anyone who knew her would know the Chief Ambassador was livid with rage, but it was not her way to curse or throw things. Instead, she was coldly silent, considering, contemplating, calculating. One of her own was in danger, a fellow diplomat, for no apparent reason other than being born what he was.
Taking a moment to compose herself, breathing in, and out, smoothing her hair and stilling her tail, the Ambassador sent out a probing inquiry to the Tiger in the form of a request for a communications holographic up link.
Seeing how the shuttle the Greali claimed you were in has just blown up in our faces - rather impressively at that -I think it's more than enough reason to take more aggressive action....and give you ahelping hand at the same time...I'll never understand you diplomats, so willing to act as if you believe the best of every one. Came the swift mental reply. Then she set about gtiving the necessary orders.
Once the anti transport devices were down they could snatch him quickly. Fortuantely he was the only Kitsune on an entire ship of Greali humans. His life signs would be easy to discern from theirs.
But I suggest that you MOVE, as I am about to charge the Greali with deciet and death of an diplomat - contrvening the standard of diplomatic immunity, and ask them if they now consider them selves belligernets. The Xas's mental voice was coldly eager.
"Sir, I seriously doubt that you edxpected anyone to believe that you sent Ambassador Atrox down to the planet. However Phoneix Empire shields are rather more impressive than that so, no harm...but not no foul.
If you do not wish to suffer immediate annihilation, you will release the Xiscapian Ambassador unharmed, immediately. Holding an ambassador hostage, even if you happen to dislike their race, is a diplomatic nono, as you should well know."
OOC: You want me to make one, Greal? I figured we wouldn't actually make one until you declared war, but if you want a seperate thread now I will happily create it.
OOC: Sure, since this thread is only for the Zillar invasion
IC:
The 4th Assault fleet withdrawn from the system.
Before the Greali ships could leave the Xiscapain ambassador was rescued from his cell by an over hetrodyned transport beam from the nearest Gun Orb -
Or do I have to follow them elsewhere to finishe the rescue?
OOC: Tanara, I've already written up a post in which the Greali have successfully jumped away with the Ambassador aboard, which will be the opening post for the war. Don't worry, you will still have a part to play, of course. Everyone, please refrain from posting ICly here until I am able to post the thread tomorrow, as I am still writing up the intro.
WAR THREAD: COMING SOON.
Will post the link here once it is made.
As the Greali fleet jumped away, the Tanaran Captain would hear a faint telepathic message coming from the flagship. It was barely discernible, but it was there.
Help...
If she concentrated hard, or, better yet, got a experienced telepath on the trail, they could easily follow the fleet, and the Ambassador, to the end of the universe. But one slip-up and they would lose the link, and the Xiscapian, probably forever.
