Today the proud nation of Washington-Jefferson, representing two islands in the Pacific was formally admitted to the WA. No delegate or politician from the nation was available for comment.
The very Spartan and rugged individuals that form the citizenry took a 5 minute lunch-break to celebrate.
The government of Washington-Jefferson is meanwhile pursuing other business ventures that it wants its neighbors to know about:
1. The government is working on eliminating the 2% flat tax and replacing all income taxation with a simple sales tax.
2. Washington-Jefferson is also eliminating corporate taxes and expanding one of its islands, likely the very agricultural island of Jefferson to offshore banking for foreigners. From now on, offshore banking accounts and corporations can be registered on Jefferson, in the tax shelter city of Monticello.
3. In Washington meanwhile, Port George is opening a university of Conservative Arts where students may learn policy, capitalism, finance. Previously the island's most famous universities dealt with subjects of economics, industry and agri-sciences.
4. To grow the military forces, Washington-Jefferson is offering citizenship to all immigrants who sign a 10 year contract of which half of the time is active duty. This way immigrants can show their good faith and earn money while adapting to their new nation and working on their citizenship. Certain immigrants with questionable or undesirable qualifications must serve 14 years of which 7 are active.
