It may or may not be known to the world that the Blackhelm Confederacy has been going through massive purges of the Muslim population of the nation. Immediately following the passing of the Sacrament Law, the Muslim population made up nearly 17% of the population of at the time over three billion Confederate citizens. As it stands today, the Muslim population is responsible for less than 3% of the population, almost all of whom are interned in Griffincrest run slave labor camps scattered throughout the Confederacy, as well as in several Griffincrest run territories overseas. But why this hatred towards the Muslims? Where does all of this animosity stem from? Well, in this article, I hope to answer many of your questions.
The current situation that is being dealt with in the Blackhelm Confederacy actually stems from the Crusades that took place over a thousand years ago. Although failing in their intention of reclaiming Jerusalem by meansof a press from the south, moving up into the area today known as Polarus (RL North Africa) and Egyptiansstan (RL Egypt) and hopefully sweeping across to European controlled ports where they would recieve transport to the Muslim held Holy Land with the help of several European nations, it did however leave huge swaths of Polarus in Exponential hands. At the same time, it forced Christian/Islamic relations on Exponential Africa to a boiling point, as thousands on both sides lay dead in the desert.
For years, Exponent owned these portions of Polarus until the mid-1800's, when a radical Islamic cleric called for a jihad that would last for decades. By the close of the 19th century, virtually all of the land that Exponent had once held in Polarus was lost to the massed hordes of Muslim tribesmen, and once again, thousands of men lay dead in the sands of Polarus, and once again, Christian/Muslim relations took a huge blow.
Exponent would struggle with the rest of its colonies for years after the loss of the province of Polarus, but Exponentials never forgot that it was because of the jihad in Polarus that the rest of the colonies felt that they were powerful enough to rebel as well. After losing its final colonies, Exponent fell into a thirty six year isolationism, completely withdrawing itself from the world, only keeping minor communications open with the Soviet Union for the sole purpose of procuring arms, until finally bursting back onto the seen in 2006, when a civil war forced the nation to ask for outside help.
Immediately after the civil war, the nation of Egyptiansstan began a ridiculous campaign of destroying all privately owned businesses, starting with children selling lemonade. In response to the arrest, a peaceful protest took place in the capital of Egyptiansstan, which turned into a massacre as troops opened fire on the crowd. Simultaneously, the Minister of Education in that nation was executed in public for having too few pictures (10,019 as opposed to 10,031) in a school book. A group of the elite Exponential Honor Guard were deployed to the nation in order to attempt to create local rebellion to topple the obviously insane regime, but the children had already been killed, and the bullets had been charged to their families. To make matters worse, the Honor Guard were discovered, and a majority of them killed while engaging Egyptiansstani forces. The survivors were then captured, and subsequently tortured. Once again, public outrage against Muslims came to a head in Exponent, and Exponential military forces were mobilized into Egyptiansstan to topple the regime and rescue the surviving Honor Guard.
After the first Exponential forces crossed into Egyptiansstan, the Egyptiansstani government offered to trade the surviving Honor Guard, as well as 300 hundred children who could be used as propaganda, to pose for those executed, in exchange for nuclear technology. Exponent swiftly declined, and continued moving into the nation, capturing the capital city entirely unoppsed. As a detterent, the Egyptiansstani's detonated several nuclear bombs in their owns cities and towns to attempt to force the Imperial Army out. The final blow came after one of the many anti-Griffincrest invasions to hit the nation, at this time rebuilt as the Blackhelm Confederacy, after the devastation of the plague.The war had crippled the Confederate military, and caused widespread outbreaks of disease in the city of Redemption, which was hit by a bilogical weapon. On top of this, Griffincrest was demanding increased rights, the Communists were expanding their operations in the countryside, and the city of Divinity was threatening seccession unless its many terms were met. In response, the Confederate Senate found a scapegoat to divert the nations woes away from the government and onto the Muslims.
The first law passed against the Muslims was known as the Sacrament Law, named after the city of Sacrament, in which it was signed. The Sacrament Law layed out the laws that said if you had all four grandparents of direct Exponential blood, you were a pure blood, and thus highest in society. Three or four grandparents of Muslim blood and you were classified as a Muslim, and those with one or two grandparents of Muslim blood were considered a "half-breed". Those found to be Muslims would soon find themselves stripped of their citizenship, and would have their homes and businesses taken away from them. Not only this, but Muslims were forced to identify themselves by wearing a crescent moon on their clothing at all times.
Anti-Muslim feeling hit its high on the Nox Di Vas Infractus. On this night, Griffincrest Internal Security personnel lead massive crowds of Confederate purebloods through the streets of cities throughout the nation, smashing Muslim run stores and destroying Muslim homes. When it was all done, millions of dollars in damages had been done to the Confederate Muslim community, and the Muslims themselves were forced to clean up the debris left behind. This was just the start of things for the Muslims, and soon Griffincrest factories were turning into massive slave labour camps, were millions of Muslims were being shipped every few months. These camps were spread throughout the world, and are responsible for the destruction of the Confederate Muslim Community. In response to the ruthless slaughter of Christians in the nation of Mhoudia, a massive uproar swept over the nation, causing thousands of men and women to form a crusade. These crusaders began by raiding the small Muslim ghettoes still left slaughtering any in their way, before eventually moving out to sail far across the ocean, and lay the ongoing seige of Tel Aviv.
