I had an idea for a Warhammer RP awhile ago, and had an idea thread about it. While there was some negativity, it got fairly good votes, leastwise enough for my peace of mind. The idea is that you can either control an army, (i.e. a Chapter, Traitor Legion, Craft/Tombworld, ect..) or a single character within aan army. (i.e. a Chaos Lord/Force Commander, or perhaps a lowly soldier climbing his way through the ranks, like a Gaurdsmen advancing to Governer Militant)

The storyline thus far is this:

There is aplanet, named Methual, in a much unexplored part of the galaxy. As far as anyone has been able to tell, it is uninhabited, despite a wide diversity of landscapes, many of which are ideal for living. The first race to start exploring was the Forces of Chaos, the Black Legion specifically. Cultists and heritics on the planet reported that there were strange fluxuations on all their devices meant to detect life, and radiation. Where these fluxuations were most severe, they found a mysterious shrine to an unknown God. Inside this shrine, they found a small statue, shaped like a wolf, and soon discovered that any that held it, became filled with strength, and nearly unmatchable in battle. Soon the rest of the Forces of Chaos flooded to this planet, each fighting for this prize.

Meanwhile, the Imperium of Man notices the increase of heritic activity in this area of the galaxy. The send Space Marines from the Blood Angel chapter to investigate, and they soon discover the center of the heritic activities. The Imperium decides to send several Chapters, along with several armies of Imperial Gaurdsmen. Soon the entire galaxy is aware of this artifact, and is converging on the small planet, either to destroy the unholy relic, such as the Imperium or the Eldar, to use it for themselves, or merely drawn to the increase of life on the world, as is the case of the Necrons.

Yes, I know, it bears strong similarities to the Dark Crusade campaign, and it could use some work, but I am still working on it, and any and all suggestions are welcome.

OOC: You mean despite the thousands of threads, fanfics, and whatnot that are all across the net? I've never once heard of Gamesworkshop going and suing somebody based on fanfic, and I doubt they ever will. I mean, seriously, dude. Where are you getting this from?

How curious. Given that they're, Y'know, selling a role playing game these days (though they're transferring it to Fantasy Flight Games, it still uses their intellectual property).

You realise that the vast majority of Nationstates Future Tech role playing is based off of Warhammer 40k or starwars, correct? We've also had innumerable such RPs as this. Few of them ever suceed but I'll keep my eye on this one and I may pop in.
