In a completely unsurprising announcement this evening in the Fascist Republic of the Fanboyist States, Generalissimo Steven P. Grimmeberger wiped out the last illusion of democratic government in the FRFS.

At 7:12 p.m., General Grimmeberger officially dissolved the Senate, disbanded the Popular Democratic Party, Libertarian Party, Green World Party, Pacifist Party, and the National Society of Anarchists. All party funds were confiscated, and were immedietely given to the Cure for Cancer Research Fund. All provincial democratic institutions have also been dissolved.

The only unexpected announcement was that the National Fascist Party was among the disbanded parties; this comes as a great shock, as it was one of the two parties actively sponsored by the state. This leaves only the Traditional Nationalist Party in existance, to which all citizens* have been given an offer of membership.

In a non-related and arbitrary move, the Generalissimo also took the opportunity to change the nation's name to the National State of Greater Chesapeake.

*"Citizens" in this case being anyone without a serious criminal record(no murderers or communists) and being non-communist.

"While unsurprising, the Totalitarian State applauds the disbandenment of the vast majority of political parties in the National State of Greater Chesapeake and the dissolvement of its 'Democratic Institutions'. While we are a State with no Political Parties, we recognise that certain one-political party states (specifically nationalistic and fascistic ones) can and do improve the stability and strength of a nation. A strong central government, unimpeded by such trivial things as 'Human Rights' and 'Political Freedoms', is the finest thing any one nation can achieve in the world."
