State-Airport Lufthabor, Strassen, Osterstatt
The airfield around the diplomats looked suitable and well kept, but of an older style, looking to have been constructed in the 1970s or 1980s, it looked barren, most likely cleared to make way for the foreign arrivals.
The roar of the jet engine fell to a quiet hum as the plane's descent was finalized. The Yantarian diplomats aboard would be greated with the sight of their security detachment, and the personal guard of the Chancellor, protecting the man of course.
The Chancellor's guard stood watch outside of a limousine, which had a red carpet leading up to it, held by two soldiers, ready to be unrolled.
The soldiers themselves awaited the plans standing stiffly, as if someone had shoves a steel I-beam up their fundaments. Rather than stand at attention, they stood their legs slightly apart, backs ramrod-straight, and hands behind them in the small of their backs, rigid as could be.
As the door on the plane opened, the carpet unfurled and met the base of the loading stairs.
The captain, with eagles on his collar, gave a stiff salute, his arm and hand extending rigidly out, and in a practiced voice stated "Mein Herrs, Welcome to Osterstatt!"

Jean-Jacques De Vanves stepped off the plane first, and greeted the captain. "Very well, comrade, it is a pleasure to be in your fine nation." Despite the rumours, Jean-Jacques did not give any indication that he didn't believe what he said. Years of working as a diplomat for the Yanitarian government had conditioned him well.
Olaf Ivarsson, the second to get off the plane, was a bit more nervous. He was an embedded journalist for the Yanitarian News Wire, the semi-nationalized news agency that serviced most of Yanitaria. He simply nodded, and shifted the slim, electronic voice recorder in his armpit.
Charles BĂ©nouville, the last to get off, was a member of the Yanitarian diplomatic corps, but in the special role of undercover bodyguard. He had spent 10 years in the military, and was well versed in Yanitarian Military Pankration. He simply smiled, and said "Yes, it is our pleasure to be here."

The diplomatic team was escorted to the limousine, followed every step by armed guards. Upon entering the limousine they were greeted warmly by a man of unimposing stature, an average sized man with no look of any real importance. The man had a calm look upon his face, a beard beginning to grow in, and his brown hair neatly trimmed and groomed. He was of average height, had green eyes, and wore a black turtle-neck tucked into Khaki pants held up by a silver buckled belt.
finally the man spoke in a powerful commanding voice, strangely it also seemed to have a reassuring aire to it.
"Greetings my foreign friends. I'm Albrecht Stammer" The man paused to smile. " I was elected Chancellor of Osterstatt for the Nationalist party, which I Head. I trust your flight was acceptable?" the diplomat responded with a yes " Good to hear. I'm aware our airport may not appear to be much, but I am far more concerned with the development of social aspects; I'm afraid the airport has been the least prudent of my concerns. There is much to do." The chancellor paused to chuckle a bit "But you are not here to listen to me drone are you? No, you are here to inspect the state of my nation. I assure you the city is far more cosmopolitan."
The chancellor hit a button and out came a bottle of wine, shrimp, and four glasses. "Please, enjoy some wine. I'm afraid I do not drink, so I must regretfully deny my own hospitality. Now, should any of you three desire a news report for your country, you simply need ask, and I will be more than happy to be interviewed, send an authorized press report, or even a video of my addresses or public appearances. In fact, I will be giving a speech tonight, you are more than welcome to attend."
about an hour later, the Limo pulled up to a large hotel, where the diplomats would be staying. It seems the chancellor did not lie about the city, it was impressively modernized, large buildings, many shops, it even looked as though a few bars and nightclubs were scattered about, although many former bars were still around, seemingly turned into Cafes. The city street was practically covered in propaganda, but one would be hard pressed to find a picture of the chancellor. There were military recruitment posters, posters asking people to join the party, posters warning people of ever present crime, of communists, of homeless and vagrants. The state flag flew on almost every building, and along the busy streets, soldiers clad in uniform could be seen walking here and there among the crowd. televisions hung on some of the more impressive buildings, set to a news channel, some showing footage of what seemed to be sitcoms with a "State Approved" bug in the lower right. The streets of the city were impeccably clean, there appeared to be no litter, garbage, or homeless on the streets.
Soon the Limo pulled away, leaving the diplomats with an escort of five soldiers.
((OOC: You're welcome to have them start asking people questions or examining the city, or whatever. I will type the response.

Once in their rooms, the three men decided to split up to conduct their research. Each had an electronic voice recorder slipped under their arms and secured by a specially made armband. A microphone was embedded in each man's collar.
Jean, Olaf, and Charles approached the guards, and Jean asked, "Would it be possible for use to each go about our own way? You see, Charles in more interested in seeing the city, while Olaf wants to see the nightclubs. I personally just want to see some of the historical sites.
"And if you don't mind, I have a video camera. Am I allowed to film the various monuments of your nation? Also, all three of use would like to see Mr. Stammer speak publicly, before we perhaps conduct an interview?"
