Countless plans made and quickly discarded…

Braca sat in front of a screen, analysing the same map he did for the last few days, he had lost track of how many times he looked at the same screen, trying to decide on his next action. It was not easy for the Peacekeeper leader to give his word, but he had done it, twice already and now he had to deal with the consequences, unpleasant as they threatened to be. To be bold, to be reserved? Question swarming around in his head, his closest advisers having already shared their thoughts to him, making him aware of various options and scenarios, some almost suicidal, others just plain crazy with just a few, if he could term them so, ‘sane’ plans. Finally, he moved his arms making a decision.

“We’ll just have to do our best,” he smiled, but it was obviously a strained smile, the hours of lost sleep and stress taking its toll on him, “For if we stand idle, who else will lift a hand for our friends?” odds be damned, he was a man of his word, adrenalin pumping through his veins he set to summon his staff for a meeting.

More than a thousand miles away, various carrier battle groups maintained their course towards their new base in Haven. Ever since the Peacekeepers and the nation of TWSP signed a treaty, the units had been ordered to relocate at the new Aleosite base built on TWSP soil. Before them, countless military cargo planes had already used the military transit rights given to them by the treaty and headed towards the established Peacekeeper bases in Holy Marsh, with a few of them stopping by to deliver supplies and men to the new base, aiding to speed up the construction process. There were to be no delays as several ships were already waiting to dock. Granted the TWSPians had been welcoming and allowed for the Aleosite ships to use their own facilities, but there were certain tasks that could only be performed in secrecy and for the number of ships that High Command had in mind, the base needed somewhat of a refit and the men already there were to make sure that the refit was done in time.

On the ships heading towards the base, atmosphere was tense. They knew that the region they were going to spend their time from now on matters were tense and seemingly getting even hotter by the day, but they had a duty to fulfill. Due to the nature of the mission, the ships were organized in a new fleet and a new admiral was assigned to oversee the mission. Some claimed this was only a temporary solution but others feared that many more admirals were going to be needed.

But the ships heading towards the base were not the only ones heading towards Haven, another task force was already approaching the Cravanian home isles in a formal visit before departing for the west of Haven, to join the NATO forces present at Carpanthium and bolster the presence there. If asked, the commanders of the fleet were not going to deny that the weird pattern created by their voyage on the maps wasn’t related to surveillance operations, but for people to find about this, they had to first find the captains and ask and with the ROARSATs keeping a close eye on movement, added to the scouting operations done by submarines and the experience of the sailing armada, detection was not to be so easy, although, given the size of the group, there was always a chance for that to happen.

Now, as the ships headed towards their destinations, it remained to be seen what the next day was to bring.
