OOC: I fell inactive for a while.. well I wasn't really too active before, so this is a re-post of my introductory thread so...

Recently, they country of Osterstatt has just received the results of its first democratic elections! The Nationalist Party has won the elections with an astonishing 76.4 percent of the vote, leading to the installation of Albrecht Stammer as Chancellor of Osterstatt. He has won support primarily for his charismatic nature, involving of people in his own politics, zealous decrying of communism and liberalism, and his promises of a new future for osterstatt.
Osterstatt has only just recently emerged from the turmoil of a corrupt capitalist government which arose after the monarchy fell, and while leftist supporters have taken to calling Mr. Stammer's Nationalist party as "Neo-Monarchism", the effects of the slander seem to have gone unfelt by the party, who recently swept the nation-wide elections.
Mr. Stammer himself advocates national reform, with his cries for the nationalization of core industries, the disbanding of worker's unions and replacing them with national labor unions, and a deeper law budget. He advocates that a new future can be brought about, a modern future free from the decadence and liberalism of the past. In addition to all this he is very radically opposed to the "Communist party of Osterstatt" calling leftism and communism "flawed forms of government" advocation a strongly centralized form of government with national policies, emphasis on the authority of the state, and the importance of military.
It has only been seven months since his election, and already he has radically reformed the country to become what may the beginnings of an industrial power. They have reformed the previously decentralized largely corporate government of the past regime with the new one, nationalized many core industries that produce raw materials, re-organized the corporate bodies into a "third way" system, and have begun to develop military power.
In their economic beliefs, they hold both laissez-faire economics and left-wing socialism (I say left-wing because their economic beliefs, are in the broadest definition, socialism) to be inherently flawed. Laissez-Faire, they say, is responsible for monopolization of interests and a cyclical decline, they believe that it will lead to a depression in time. Leftist Socialism on the other hand, will destroy the ability of the individual to succeed as well as any form of progress. Instead they propose a third way economy, where the state controls finances, liscencing, and raw materials, and certain industries, controlling the production of raw materials are nationalized. They strongly believe that means of economic production should be controlled by the masses, but through means of the state. They believe that individual non-state interests should not control the control the economy and as such they introduce corporativism, or the idea of collectivizing corporate heads into conglomerate bodies controlled to an extent by the state. They do not exactly oppose the free market but rather seek to regulate it to keep any interest from generating abnormal profit.
Politically, The Nationalist Party's viewpoint is one of unity, strength, progress, authoritarianism, and loyalty to the state. The Nationalist Party is an extreme centrist party, much as communism would be the extreme left. To sum it up, what the party believes in is that "individual and societal interests are subordinate to the needs of the state" and rather than espouse liberalism, which puts focus on individual liberties, the party supports collective liberties. Further they believe that authority should be respected, that it is integral to human society's functioning, they also believe in a strong national unity, enforcing the ideal that Osterstatt is proud and resilient, capable of great things. They try to bring people together with the idea of national identity and culture, rather than race.
Another key aspect of the party is the belief in populism, or defending the common man against the elites, this does differ from communism in that they do not hold true the idea of collective working communes or individual rights, but hold that, beneath the state, the common people should be protected. This is seen in the manifestation of such things as National Labor Unions and whatnot. They do hold the idea that not all people are equal however, and this manifests itself in different ways.
The chief of ways this manifests itself is in opposition to communist class struggles, they believe that the classes work together to promote progress. They believe this to be a truth for society, that the lower class, or laborer, is requisite for the upper and middle classes, but that the upper class is requisite for the lower and middle class as the controller of the means of production, and that the middle is requisite for both as the consumer of capital goods and the producer of non capital labor.
With such views the Republic of Osterstatt begins to open relations with the outside world hoping to find allies and supporters!

The newely elected Chancellor stood on a podium, the new redesigned flags of the Osterstatt nationalist Party flying behind him, flanked by soldiers with loaded automatic weapons.
"Citizens, Fellows, My Brothers and Sisters of the state! hear me! You have rallied, and you have chosen to elect the truth, the new future way of the world. And for that, I am thankful, and I can only promise you, that I will transform Osterstatt into the glory she deserves to be, the glory the liberals have denied her.
I look at our nation, and I weep. The misery of all our peoples is a sight most horrendous to behold. I see the scars upon each of you left by the capitalist exploiters. Greed-driven mongers that would sell their own mothers into prostitution if it would earn them enough money. They have pushed a false religion onto us, that of consumerism. They have blinded us with lies telling us that we are equal, that any man may climb the ladders of society, but that is a lie!
Since that fateful day when our monarchy was over-thrown, our nation has become a definition for heart-wrenching disunity. We are a country within the western world, we should not be a third world country! And yet, there is a disaster looming before the whole nation, a collapse into anarchy, communism, and perversion.
All about us the warning signs of this collapse are apparent. Communism with its method of madness is making a powerful and insidious attack upon our dismayed and shattered nation. It seeks to poison and disrupt in order to hurl us into an epoch of chaos. This sedition, destroying force spared nothing of all that is highest and most precious to our people. Beginning with the family, it has undermined the very foundations of morality and faith, it has encouraged deviance and perversion, and it scoffs at our thousand-year inheritance, our nation and culture, the very justice and honor of every man, woman, and child.
Yet our people are resilient. We are proud and we do hold dea our thousand-year inheritance. Osterstatt's culture is like a fire burning in the blood of it's true citizens, and has left naught but ash within the communist heart. You all have proven your resilience, you have ignited the beginnings of a wild-fire that will consume the nation, and cleanse it of the parasites which take what is rightfully ours. In the wake of the great cleansing fire of culture, there will blossom the new future we have so long awaited.
People of Osterstatt, you have elected the eagle which will elevate the nation to a great height among the world. We will be your protector, the sword of the impoverished nation. And I will be the catalyst that will bring us into the new epoch of Civilization
There are those of you, who though you express your support, have some doubts about me. It is true that the Ideology we represent, the Fascist system, has indeed received slanderous attention in the past. Such is why we call ourselves the Nationalist party. We feel that this party name, better represents the noble goals we hold high. Fascism is so often associated with mass genocide, the slavery of all citizens, and horrible evils against humanity. But I ask you, what then are the purges of the Communists? Did not the Capitalists enslave the african man?
Everything has it's slander, it's dark secrets, Fascism has lost it's first induction, but that was a mere birthing pain. Let me tell you the truth of what can be expected. We will elevate the nation to something more than a bank for corporate fat-cats. We will stamp out homeless by rehabilitating the worthless of society into proper citizens. We will stamp out deviant sexuality and restore the true family. We will end the terror and lies of the socialists.
We will do all this, because we understand that there is a lie to egalitarianism. An order will be set in place, a nation set aright. Every person within our nation will be given access to modernity, to televisions, and radios. Those left without jobs will be given jobs that best serve the state, and their transition into it as proper citizens. Our children will be educated to be proper citizens, and gang life will be stamped out. Children will be able to join proper boys and girls organizations to guide them in the proper ways of life.
Most importantly though, our military will be expanded. Let us bring back the dutiful protection of the praetorians of old. In the place of police, there will be soldiers, soldiers who do not uphold the law, but are the law. We will develop our industries so that all of our enemies will quake. And we will let the world know this.
In the coming month, I assure you, the nations of the world will be made aware of our presence, no longer will we be a small state, and we shall be welcomed among the nations. They will welcome us for they will either see the truth of our way, the pride of their nations, and the lies of socialism; or they shall welcome us for fear of our retribution."
