Adnan Fleet, Black Sea:

They have been trapped in a sea by a small militaristic nation not so much unlike there own once upon a time. They had since sailed south towards the Bosphorus to leave the Black Sea and head back home. They couldn't...

Admiral Johawar had received new orders from Leasathi high command. He was to launch an invasion of the Caprilusan homeland of Turkey. Back home at Leasath the reinforcements intended for Ixania were deployed to the sea, and were to land at Caprilusa after the Republican Guard divisions had secured a beachhead. The ships sailed south and prepared themselves for invasion.

"Sir, enemy contacts on radar. We have aircraft coming to attack us from Caprilusa."

"So it has begun already," replied the Admiral, "Launch all fighters! Don't let the enemy get close to out fleet! Prepare all forces for landing! We will kill Caprilusans today!"

"All hands," began the P.A. system, "proceed to battle stations! This is not a drill, repeat, this is not a drill!"

Sailors scrambled around the ships once more not too different from the time they were about to invade Ixania. The fleet's Cassard-class AEGIS ships prepared their defenses to protect the fleet, and other ships with capable AA defenses activated them. MiG-29K Fulcrum fighters lined themselves up on the runway on top of the Kuznetsov-class aircraft carriers and proceeded to take off from the ramp at the end of the ship. In the air the planes formed up and headed towards the aggressors, arming long range missiles. The war on Caprilusa has begun.

"Ah I love that smell. Such a great smell it is."

"What smell is it sir?"

"The smell of armies going to war and aircrafts flying up above. The smell of millions of citizens working extra hard to squirt out some more copper and metal for the guns and weapons. The smell of enemy bodies rotting and feilds burning. The smell of war. And when the glorious Imperial Republic of Greston gets involved that is when victory can me smelled."

Colonel Nathan Cersiscal stood at the deck of his Seastabber class battleship. In the last message sent by the iggnorant General Tony Slattery he said the sea was his but he was wrong. That was not possible. 20 ships against the thousands Greston could deploy wasn't very fair for them> But it was necesary.

That was why the ports of the Great Britian colony sprung alive with activity. The activity was the mass of fleets that would soon come down upon the BLack Sea and destroy the Caprilusan Fleet. 500 Seastabbers, 350 Hermin cruisers, and many, many Oscar class subs was the numbers of the fleet.

The President laughed. He had not expected his former enemies to suddenly be trapped in the Black Sea. "A small nation is not granting them passage?" he asked, smiling.

"Yes sir...well, it's not that small. It's only 100 million people less than us." said the Admiral of the Fleet.

"Still, they shouldn't be doing this. At least trapping them in the sea made some sense, but attacking them? They won't live to see another European sunrise!"

"Sir, there is some opportunity in this..." piped up the Chief Adviser. "I expect the Leasathi won't have too much trouble crushing Caprilusa, but still, this is blockade is uncalled for. If this escalates into full scale war..."

"...we can enter it ourselves and get a slice of Caprilusan land!" finished the president, smiling. "Very well. Admiral Thomas is already heading back to Italy-Slovenia, correct?"

"Yes sir," said the Admiral of the Fleet. "He should arrive in around two days."

"Very well. Send out this letter..."

To: The Government of Caprilusa

We hereby demand the immediate surrender of Caprilusa to Leasath. While they were nearly our enemy in a war against Neo-Ixania, the war is gone and we are again neutral. The Leasathi fleet has every right to pass through your waters on its way out. There are people on board, and their supplies surely cannot last long enough. The invasion has already started, if you have not noticed! Surely, you are not blind to the fact you will be crushed quickly by Leasath? Surrender now, or you will be crushed.

And your declaration of war against Jayate! This is uncalled for! You cannot simply enter thermonuclear war; that is simply not how it is done in the real world. We are sorry if this came out threatening, but we are sincere in the hope your nation is not crushed by Leasath or Jayate. Emotion is difficult to carry correctly in text

Admiral Alexandrous Lasarkis looked at the situation map, and then motioned to his aide. "Have the reinforcements arrived on Cyprus, Leo?"

"Yes, Admiral. 600 EuroFighters, and 20,000 troops, as requested from the High Command. Um, Sir, there is a little....tension (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=553445) in the capital at present - these are about all we can expect until the crisis is resolved."

"I understand - we'll just have to make do with it. Have the Blue Ridge-class ships arrived?"

"Yes, Admiral. 4 Blue Ridge-class transports, escorted by 2 carriers and full screening elements."

"That, at least, is good news. Leo, send a message to them for me, please..."

The Imperial taskforces, augmented by the arrival of multiple new carrier task forces, went into motion. The original taskforce, in the waters juts north of Crete, waited for the agreement of their Rangerian allies (OOC: If Northern Rangeria says no, I'll find something else for this taskforce to do) and then set out for the western coast of Anatolia, splitting near the end, to head to Dardanallia (OOC: Turkish Canakkale, near the Dardanelles) and Ephesus (OOC: Southwest coast of Turkey).

Meanwhile, the Cyprus-based taskforce moved to take posession of Attalea (Antalya, southern coast) and Antioch (Antakya, southeast coast). Each separate force was escorted by at least a hundred, and often more, fighters, and provided AEW by the P-3C Orions based out of Crete and Cyprus.

As to "General" Slattery's contemptible threat, the Empire ignored it for two reasons. First, if Caprilusa used WMDs on opponents in a conventional war, the retribution would daunt people for a thousand years to come, courtesy of all the nations allied against Caprilusa. Second, every Imperial city was well-defended against incoming missiles, and the Imperial hospital system was first-rate, the better to deal with any sneaky attacks using bio-agents.

Dear Emperors, Presidents and Leaders of all aggressor nations.

I am Declan Slattery, ambassador to Jayate and brother of General Tony Slattery.

Although my brother has declared it, war is unwanted by both the caprilusan government and the people (as it should be).
Unfortunately, we are not in any position of power to combat the General's orders. He has complete control over all broadcasts, military forces, anything that is not owned by citizens, and is currently holding our country at ransom.

His "Grand scheme" as he has many a time pointed out to me, is to eventually channel all money and funding from all welfare, commmerce, industry and public services in Caprilusa into his own pocket. It seems he wants to be a God-like figure among people of the world, which might be achieved through this.

As you might have guessed from his erratic and (to be quite honest) stupid behaviour, he is quite mad. He refuses to accept this, this is why he declares war on much stronger nations and tries to invade others. He thinks that Caprilusa is the only force on Earth.

We have used the small amount of authority we retain to open up the bosphorous passage, hopefully your warcraft are safe, although we cannot confirm this, as we are in hiding deep into the Turkish desert.

I beg of you, withdraw from our country, do not answer to my brother's threats, he shall be overthrown. Ignore his commments about GTW, he knows nothing about global politics or, indeed, military action. He is not, per say, a general at all.

At least don't harm any innocent civilians whose lives my brother has endangered through his reckless acts of violence.
Please broadcast this around the world. My brother must be stopped.

To: Declan Slattery, Caprilusan Ambassador to Jayate.
From: Admiral Alexandrous Lasarkis of the empire of New Chalcedon.
Re: Concessions.

Your Excellency,

Peace is always a laudable aim, but in this case it may prove to be a futile hope, for the following reasons:

1. Jayate has already mobilised. From what I know of that nation, they are hungry for territory and will not be inclined to accept a "mea culpa" from Caprilusa.

2. Your brother apparently has absolute control of the Caprilusan military, and has already sent them to attack the Leasathi fleet. If Leasath is prepared to accept reparations, and Caprilusa is prepared to offer them, all well and good. Otherwise, well.....

3. General Slattery has yet to apologise for his insulting behaviour toward His Imperial Majesty. Given that His Majesty is the victim of an attempted coup, it is impossible for him to forgive anything. An apology must be forthcoming, or my orders are to attack. And given the chaos in Consantinopolis Secundus, I would not bet on the likelihood of new orders reaching me anytime soon - the High Command has other things on their mind. Especially given that my orders are now in the process of being executed.

4. Neo-Ixania may not be inclined to be forgiving of General Slattery's threats and bellicose attitude towards them.

In addition, if it is to the benefit of Caprilusa to have General Slattery removed from power, as you seem to be implying, then we can do that for you (and are in the process of doing so). Losing an important battle and a major colony should be enough to shake General Slattery's hold on power loose.

Finally, to describe New Chalcedon as an aggressor nation is a blatant falsehood, which is being employed to shield Caprilusa from the choices of its head of state. Did the Allies spare Germany because Hitler was insane? No. Did Napoleon refrain from invading Portugal because Queen Maria was insane? No. Not only has General Slattery refused to apologise, but now you, his brother, have insulted New Chalcedon further.

It is clear to me that Caprilusa is indeed a "rogue nation", which bullies those weaker than itself, but refuses to accept the consequences of its actions. It appears that to Caprilusa, the quality of mercy is instead weakness, and so we shall not show any. Caprilusan Turkey is forfeit as penalty for Caprilusa's arrogance, its belligerence, and its utter inability to be trusted with the stewardship of a critically-important waterway.

Admiral Alexandrous Lasarkis,

OOC: The Admiral figures that he will gain three things from the war:
1. Reclamation of culturally-important land for the Empire;
2. A significant career boost;
3. A boost to morale for loyalist forces in the New Chalcedon Civil War - the Admiral is a Loyalist.

And unfortuantely for the prospects of peace, he is quite correct: his orders are nondiscretionary, and there is no-one at the moment who can countermand them. Oh well, looks like my neato "Palace Coup" thread has painted me into a corner.

Official Declaration of War against Caprilusa
Decree to all Nations of Europe
From Caeser Victor Octavian, Ruler and Supreme General of Jayate
http://www.nationstates.net/images/flags/uploads/jayate__1.jpg

The Supreme General of Jayate, Caeser and Dictator of the United Federated Empire - he who is dictating this letter to his Minister of Urban Development, Minister Lawrence Ghalib.

Greetings to every person of the nations in Europe, and greetings to their rulers.

We, the people of the United Federated Empire of Jayate, have received a letter from the Caprilusan government. To summarize the letter, their nation is being run by an insane dictator with a God Complex. The people wish to disobey their ruler, but unfortunately they cannot. The doings of the Caprilusan government is not the will of her people.

This has troubled Jayate greatly. It is for this reason that we have changed our plans. Our plans are not to punish Caprilusa, but to liberate it. We wish to liberate the people from such a tyrannical menice.

It is for this reason that Jayate has but 1 demand to the so-called leader of Caprilusa:

1) That you step down as ruler and allow for a democratic process in your nation

We, the people of Jayate, highly doubt that General T. Slattery, leader of Caprilusa, will comply with our demand. It is for this reason that Jayate asks the nations of Europe to join us in our Crusade against Slattery - with our common goal being to overthrow him and liberate the Caprilusan people.

Jayate is willing to do this alone, if necessary. We are officially declaring a State of War against Caprilusa, for her people's sake. Our invasion force has been deployed in Europe, and it is only a matter of days before we strike our first target - the Caprilusan colony directly south of our's, known commonly as "Romania".

A MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL

Good evening gentlemen, it appears that my brother and his parliament have contacted you against my will and against the true spirit of all Caprilusan ideals and symbols.

Consider him dead.

I have relocated my position, so all intelligence gained about my whereabouts was all for nothing, and there is as much chance of me stepping down from my throne as there is a chance of Canada winning the Olympics.

I am sure you are aware that I hold strong regional influence in the Region of Cardinal Newman, and am quite closely allied with The Republic of Andy the tyrant, a nation twice as powerful as I, and one willing to come to my assistance. He is of no threat in his country, and shall send as many troops as neccessary to the Caprilusan defence effort (hereon refered to as the CDE).

I care naught for your attempts to liberate my country from me, the evil one, and I'll think you'll find that my colonies will spring to my defence, as well as Andy the Tyrant shall.

Signed,
His Imperial Majesty General Tony Slattery,
Archduke to the Caprilusan Empire,

Overnight, the Caprilusan forces attempted an invasion of both the north coast of the island of Rhodes and of the southern border of Jayate.
It seems that Chalcedon was caught by surprise, but Jayate seemd more prepared.

The same night, the Jayatean Bureau of Invistigation recieved a stange morse code message.
It scripted:

- .... .. ... / .. ... / - .... . / -.-. .- .--. .-. .. .-.. ..- ... .- -. / .- -- -... .- ... ... .- -.. --- .-. / - --- / .--- .- -.-- .- - . / .. / .... .- ...- . / .--- ..- ... - / .-. . -.-. .. . ...- . -.. / .-- --- .-. -.. / --- ..-. / -- -.-- / -... .-. --- - .... . .-. .----. ... / .--. .-.. .- -. ... / - --- / .. -. ...- .- -.. . / ...- .. .- / - .... . / ... --- ..- - .... . .-. -. / -... --- .-. -.. . .-. / --- ..-. / -.-- --- ..- .-. / -.-. --- ..- -. - .-. -.-- / - .... .. ... / .. -. ..-. --- .-. -- .- - .. --- -. / .-- --- ..- .-.. -.. / -. --- - / .... .- ...- . / .-. . .- -.-. .... . -.. / -.-- --- ..- / --- - .... . .-. .-- .. ... . / .-. . .. -. ..-. --- .-. -.-. . -- . -. - ... / ..-. .-. --- -- / .- -. -.. -.-- / - .... . / - -.-- .-. .- -. - / .-- .. .-.. .-.. / -... . / .- .-. .-. .. ...- .. -. --. / ...- .. .- / .-.. .- -. -.. / --- -. / - .... . / -. --- .-. - .... / .-- . ... - / -.-. --- .- ... - / --- ..-. / - ..- .-. -.- . -.-- / .- - / -- .. -.. -. .. --. .... - / --- -. / - .... . / ..--- ...-- .-. -.. / .- .--. .-. .. .-.. --..-- / .---- ---.. / -.. .- -.-- ... / - .. -- . / .. / .- -- / -. --- - / -.. . .- -.. / -.-- . - --..-- / .. / .- -- / -. --- - / .. -. / - ..- .-. -.- . -.-- / .. / -.-. .- -. -. --- - / -.. .. ... -.-. .-.. --- ... . / -- -.-- / .-- .... . .-. . .- -... --- ..- - ... / -.-- . - --..-- / -... ..- - / .. / .- -- / -. . .- .-.

But then the message was cut short when it seemed the transmitter at the other end suddenly stopped function for some reason.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs sprinting into the Situation Room. "Sir!" he yelled.

"What is it?" replied the Caeser.

"We've recieved a message from Caprilusa. It has been translated from Morse Code. It seems to be unfinished"

The Caeser carefully read the letter...

"THIS IS THE CAPRILUSAN AMBASSADOR TO JAYATE I HAVE JUST RECIEVED WORD OF MY BROTHER'S PLANS TO INVADE VIA THE SOUTHERN BORDER OF YOUR COUNTRY THIS INFORMATION WOULD NOT HAVE REACHED YOU OTHERWISE REINFORCEMENTS FROM ANDY THE TYRANT WILL BE ARRIVING VIA LAND ON THE NORTH WEST COAST OF TURKEY AT MIDNIGHT ON THE 23RD APRIL, 18 DAYS TIME I AM NOT DEAD YET, I AM NOT IN TURKEY I CANNOT DISCLOSE MY WHEREABOUTS YET, BUT I AM NEAR"

The Caeser paused. He then, as his advisors might put it, finally acted as a leader. "Get the Jayatian Guard there NOW! I want a Naval Squadron there also. Deploy the forces from the Neo-Ixanian War. DO NOT invade in Europe yet!" he yelled to the Minister of Defense.

"Sir yes sir!" replied the Minister of Defense.

The Jayatian Guard departed immediately from the Gaia Province. The Naval Squadron, which included 2 Submarines, departed from the Western Jayate Coast. It would attempt to flank the Caprilusan invasion ships. The Jayatian Naval Squadron was expected to reach the Caprilusan's location on the Southern Jayatian Coast in 3 hours...

Bengalisha, Province of Gaia, Jayate
3:00 AM, Jayate Standard Time

The city of Bengalisha was in chaos. General Jacobs, the famous Jayatian colonizer of the Polish Territory, was on vacation, and had a hotel room near the Southern Jayatian beaches. He ran out of his hotel room after the city alarm sounded.

"Look at them, running like a bomb went off" he said quietly to himself. The sentence itself reminded him of his days as a colonizer before the President was overthrown by Caeser Victor Octavian.

General Jacobs felt a vibration against his leg. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his cellphone. "What is it?" he asked.

"This is the Head General of the Jayatian Homeland Armies" said the man on the other end. "General Gaius Jacobs, you are herby issued to command the Jayatian Guard Brigade arriving into Bengalisha---"

General Jacobs cut him off. "Well, they better arrive fast. Bengalisha is under attack"

"&*^$" the man said. "OK, they'll be arriving in 30 minutes. Get outside and fight however you can"

30 minutes later

General Jacobs reloaded his rifle and saw 10 tanks approaching the city limits. "About time" he said. He ran towards them and got into the front tank. Inside, he put on the headset and commanded the troops.

"Attack the troops on the ground, and attack the ships until the Navy arrives!" he commanded. 2 Jayatian Tanks formed an armored line, and began to fire off towards the sea. Meanwhile, the other tanks rushed off towards the inner city to attack the invasion force.

The battle for Bengalisha was finally over. The city lay in ruins, but the Caprilusan forces had been repelled. This was, for the Caeser's advisors, a reason to not disband the Jayatian Homeland Army as they had asked the Caeser to do.

Caeser Victor Octavian landed in the city. Along with General Jacobs, he toured the city. What lay before him was brutal. Caprilusan bodies were scattered along the beach. Jayatian women and children lay dead, their faces expressing shock. Jayatian men lay dead while clutching a brick or a rake or a pole, which suggested that they tried to fight for their city.

The Caeser left. Before he flew off, however, he assured General Jacobs that this would be avenged.

Ukraine Department, Province of Europe, Jayate
2 days later, 1:00 AM Jacobs' Standard Time

"Alright men! Get ready!" yelled General Joshua. He was to lead the Jayatian Army's First Invasion of the Caprilusan European colony of Romania, which consisted of 5,000 men and women. The Division of 20,000 men and women was divided up into 4 groups, and the First Invasion was the group who would secure the border area and take cities along it for the other 4 groups. Those who were camped at the border immediately got ready. They got up and prepared their guns.

The Jayatian Air Force were to strike the colony first. They were to hit "key targets" as the Caeser put it. Meanwhile, the Jayatian Army would invade. It would be a joint strike from two branches of Jayate's military. The Caeser hoped to get the Navy involved, but he didn't want to risk getting trapped in the Black Sea.

"5!" yelled General Joshua. The time was 1:30. "4! 3! 2! 1!"

The General walked up to the border of the two colonies. The Caeser had built a wall to divide up two nations. In a symbolic move, the General set a grenade at the wall, which blew a hole in it. He then stepped across the border and ordered his men to walk through, single-file, until they all were through. Then, they would charge the nearest city in a different formation.

"The invasion had begun" said the General after everyone got through. "We will avenge our mothers and fathers, our brothers and sisters, and all who died when they invaded our land". The troops got into position. "CHARGE!"

Jayate had begun its invasion.

To His Imperial Majesty Constantine XV of the Empire of New Chalcedon, and to Caesar Victor Octavian of Jayate,

Greetings to you, my fellow rulers of our respective nations. Due to the geographic proximity of our Arkadia colonies to Caprilusan Turkey as well as our new-found co-operation with the Empire of New Chalcedon, Northern Rangeria will assist in the effort of bringing down this madman, General Slattery. We have already set up an extensive defense, radar and listening post network on our island territories in the Aegeian, and we have sent for reinforcements to arrive from Skagerrak to aid in the coming war. In total, we will be able to launch the seven complete carrier battle groups (a total of more than eighty ships) against the Caprilusan forces.

Inform us of your plans, and we will aid you in bringing Slattery down.

Greetings from the Caeser of Jayate, Victor Octavian.

Jayate appreciates fully the support of your nation in the efforts of ourselves and of New Chalcedon. Never would we have thought that we would be alligned with such powerful allies.

Our plan of attack is to quickly strike down Caprilusan European strongholds, and to eventually reach Turkey. There, at the center of the Caprilusan European government, we plan to install Slattery's exiled brother as the head of the nation and keep it under our eye for a year or so, when we will then allow for the nation to hold General Elections.

We currently have forces in Romania, and we have just defended ourselves from an attempted invasion of our own Motherland. After we (hopefully) take Romania, we plan for a naval war with Caprilusan Turkey as we will control at least half of the Black Sea.

Any and all help is appreciated. Signed,

***In the Aegean Sea***

Admiral Alexandrous Lasarkis looke up from the display.

"Is this confirmed?"

"Aye, Admiral. Over 500 enemy fighters and at least three full squadrons of fighter-bombers inbound. It looks like General Slattery's brother hasn't overthrown him after all."

"Sound battle stations. It seems that we've caught the thin edge of their forces - they must be concentrating them on Leasath and Jayate. The news from Cyprus?"

"Good so far, Admiral. No Caprilusan airstrikes inbound, and we seem to have taken them by surprise on the south coast of Turkey. (OOC: I posted my move, and you ignored it in your post. I believe that means that I can go ahead.) Attalea and Antioch are in Imperial hands, with minimal resistance. I don't think they were expecting a strike from the south."

"Excellent. Scramble all fighters from Crete and the carriers, order the garrison to full alert, and offer a joint defense to our Rangerian ally. We'll take the outer interception zone (OOC: 25-100 nautical miles), and Rangeria the inner (OOC: 0-10 nm). Our forces will share the middle zone (OOC: 10-25) and we'll see how many Caprilusan fighters can survive our fury."

"Aye, Admiral."

"I'm not finished, Leo. We're in a 'use 'em or lose 'em" state at the moment. Order all ships to open fire on all Caprilusan military installations - Fire Plan Romeo."

"Aye, sir - fire plan Romeo."

Hundreds of box-launched missiles streaked out from the sides of dozens of Chalcedonian warships, liberally seeded with electronics warfare platforms, in order to carry out their missions of destruction. Caprilusan facilities at Constantinople (Istanbul), Smyrna (Izmir), Brusa (Bursa) and Dorylaion (Eskisehir) were each about to receive at least a hundred, and in the case of Constantinople, many more, missiles.

Defensively, squadron after squadron of EuroFighters launched from the carrier taskforce, while many more squadrons of F-35 IIs began to lauch the moment the E-3C AWACS aircraft reported the Caprilusan aircraft lifting off. The Su-34 fighter-bombers waited word of caprilusan naval or land forces, to best use their dual-role capabilites against any sneaky Caprilusans. The E-3Cs waiting at the airbases began to launch, and once in the air, used their electronics warfare capabilities to scramble the Caprilusan fighters' electronics.

OOC: and that's where a national specialty in IT helps considerably. My toys are quite advanced, although not quite the best out there. For instance, the frigates and destroyers are fitted with SS-N-22 "Shipwreck" missiles (upgraded electronics), nasty things that they are ;). Big, mind you - still, that's what box launchers are for. I'd not have a hope in hell of fitting Sunburns in Harpoon launchers or VLS systems.

We appreciate the offer of aid, and gratefully accept. The assassination (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13584882) of His Imperial Majesty has left us on our own at the moment, at least until order is restored.

I believe that your Third Battle Group is in the Aegean Sea already. I request that it be joined to my forces for an early strike against Caprilusan Turkey. Together, we are safer than apart, and my (nondicretionary) orders are to attack Caprilusa.

Thank you for your time.

The cave was cold, and Slattery did not like it. He did ever so detest the dreariness of being on the run, but his deciples had declared it necessary for his safety. He sighed a long sigh before ringing for another glass of chauvignon '87.

But instead of wine being brought to him, a young officer charged through the door of his sanctum, out of breath and wearing quite tatty clothes considering his status.

"What's the matter with you boy?" Slattery implored, a look of utter disgust on his face. "Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, you are in the presence of I."

"Apologies, my lord, but the national guard has just recieved word-"

"Leave it."

"But, my lord, this is important!"

"Nothing is more important than my leisure, knave. I do not wish to hear your tales."

Distressed, the captain shouted out at the archduke.

"Constantinople is under missile attack, my lord, as are other cities with populations spanning over 10million apiece!"

Slattery paused, spun round on his chair to face the captain, gave him a long, slow look, and shot him through the head.
He spun his chair back round to his desk and picked up the telephone and began to dial for the Minister for War.

Smatterings of converstions could be heard beneath Slattery's whispered orders through the phone to the Minister.

" Yes... I know... Chalce...Hmm... I agree... 38/B?... No, 38/V. That shall be better. Thank you. Ave."

He then hung up the phone and returned to his empty glass of wine, before realising it's lack of contents, and so placed a newspaper over his face and went to sleep.

Within an hour, Caprilusa's air force had vanished off the face of the Earth as he deployed his most erratic and bizarre military maneovre yet.

The orders recieved from Slattery dictated that the incoming missiles be erased from all radar records and that no one else should be informed of their imminent presence. Especially not the Airforce.

Each individual pilot had been ordered to rush to a certain place and altitude on the map then accelerate forward as fast as possible, and the military had long learned not to question orders, especially such direct ones.

And the expression on each pilot's face as he was wiped out was exactly the same; a cross between absolute terror, shock and disbelief.

No missiles hit any Caprilusan cities that day.

And for the handfull of aircraft that were not needed, they were sent on an emergency reconnaisance mission to the cities of the south, but their intentions were not fully revealed until the engines were remotely cut, forcing the planes down on strategic points over the city to cripple supplies and communication.

All this was going on whilst the single objective of the attack on New Chalcedon was carried out.
The single equipped fighter jet had successfully dropped its cargo equally over the city before it was shot down.

200 pounds of active, living Anthrax powder.
Chalcedon had commented on its ability to resist biological attacks, but it was doubtful that they would ever have anticipated and been prepared for this.

OOC: Sorry for the interruption, but that is some serious godmoding. First, missiles move. You can't simply send a fighter to a location and hope the missile hits the fighter instead - some are bound to get through. Second, you never mentioned that biological weapon-armed fighter heading over a New Chalcedon city before. You never even gave him the chance to shoot it down before it dropped its payload! One fighter is pretty easy to knock out, you know...

PRL Wellamo, super carrier, Tamerlane-class
Aegean Sea, 0400 Hours

The engines of a landing VTOL plane roared and blasted hot air across the deck of the Wellamo, the flagship of the Southern Detachment of the Northern Rangerian Europa fleet. Standing in attention was vice-admiral Valdemar Louhe, the hot air making the horse-hair decorations of his dress sword wave in the wind, the dark blue sash of a royal officer fluttering. The plane landed with a soft thud, the engines powering down.

The large cargo doors pushed open, clanking as they pulled aside. From the bay stepped down a senior officer, his hand holding on his cap to keep it from blowing off his head by the Aegean wind. Following him was an NRDC officer clad in black and bearing the silver-and-black marking of a Black Pike Commander - leader of one of the Principality's Black Pike Regiments, the elite of the Northern Rangerian Defence Corps.

Vice-admiral Louhe saluted, his heels clicking together.

"Admiral Tilhi, welcome to the Aegean. The Southern Detachment is at your disposal."

Admiral Juhann Tilhi smiled and answered the salute. "At ease, Valdemar. Come, let us retire to the briefing room. We have lot to discuss..."

*****

The sun was only rising, but it rose to greet a new host in the Aegean. The Northern Detachment had made its way to the Aegean, and the might of the Northern Rangerian Europa Navy was now gathered. The First Battle Group would remain near Athens to defend Arkadia and the Second Battle Group had remained in the North to safeguard the Northern Rangerian presence in New Rangeria, while the Third through Seventh Battle Groups would advance towards the east, in accordance with the communication with the New Chalcedon task force. Along with the Navy came the transport vessels, carrying the 15th-20th Arkadia Coastal Jaeger Regiments of the newly formed 2nd Arkadia Coastal Jaeger Division. The recruitment of reserve troops from Arkadia had proven a great success, and these men and women - numbering 30,000 in total - would help garrison the easternmost islands of Arkadia.

As for the black-and-silver-flagged ships, concerning their cargo was a different message dispatched to the New Chalcedonian commanders...

RE: Status update.

Comrades-in-arms,

Here is the status update you requested.

The cities of Attalea and Antoch in the south of Turkey are in Imperial hands, and the Imperial forces are mounting exploratory expeditions beyond these cities with the intention of cutting off General Slattery's retreat and dividing his troop strength.

In the west, there is heavy fighting in Ephesus, but the Imperial troops appear to have the upper hand. In Dardanallia, the Imperial forces are in trouble, and any help you can give there would be appreciated.

Navally, we have seen no sign of Caprilusan forces. There is a significant air presence, but between us we should have more than enough capability to offset that. Navally, we have taken no losses, and the Caprilusa air units appear to be waiting for orders. I suggest that our airforces pre-empt such orders and attack.

The next night, Slattery ordered another enormous tactical deployment move.
All military units were ordered back to the Caprilusan Cities and to defend those under Turkish control, and liberate those under Chalcedonian control.
New Chalcedon could not withstand the assault of thousands upon thousands of troops flooding into its captured cities, a move whihc lasted thoughout the shadows of the witching hour.
By the morning, because of this extraordinarily complex and dangerous move, all troops had been withdrawn from the colonies to defend the mainland cities directly. All of Caprilusa's cities were now Caprilusan.

There was a reason for this. The reason was Andy the Tyrant. With his forces arriving soon, all Caprilusa had to do was lie in wait.

????, Caprilusan Romanian Province
Time: ????

1 month earlier

General Jacobs jumped out of the tank and sprinted forward along with 100 other men. He called them "Jayate's Elites". They aimed with precision and killed the Caprilusan soldiers defending the city.

A Caprilusan soldier threw a grenade at "Jayate's Elites". General Jacobs ran back, but unfortunately 10 were killed from the grenade alone. "These bastards are better than we thought" said Jacobs to himself. He then ordered all to get back into the tanks.

"Leave none alive!" he yelled. The tanks then proceeded to flatten the city. They bombarded it with bombs from the tanks, they rolled over soldiers, and destroyed homes. Jayatian soldiers ran out of the tanks (despite Jacobs' orders) and proceeded to loot the city. Men, women, and children were massacred.

When it was all over, General Jacobs planted the "Rising Phoenix", Jayate's flag, in the soil. The city, as with many other Romanian cities, were now Jayate's.

Present time

General Jacobs proceeded to lead his men to hundreds of victories in various cities. The Romanian people were abandoned by their leader. Slattery, in his attempts to guard Turkey, forgot about Romania and pulled his troops out of there. The Caeser then proceeded to inform General Jacobs of this, and now Romania was nearly Jayate's.

The Jayatian Air Force bombarded the Caprilusa-Romanian capital. The colony was virtually given to Jayate. "Stupid move, Slattery" said General Jacobs as he moved on to the capital.

The capital, however, was defended even if by a small amount of soldiers. The Air Force hadn't wiped all of it out. General Jacobs used the power of Jayatian tanks to destroy any resistance. Civilians were spared, but all soldiers were killed - even after protest from the citizens.

Romania was now under Jayatian military rule due to Slattery's mistake.

OOC: I would assume that this isn't a godmod because you pulled your troops out of all colonies and moved them to Turkey. Since there is now no resistance in your colonies, they are easy to take.

Greetings. We bring you great tidings. The United Federated Empire of Jayate has successfully taken the Caprilusan colony of Romania. It seems like Slattery had pulled his troops out of the Romanian colony.

However, our war isn't completed yet. The colony of Bosnia is still under Caprilusan control. So is their colony of Macedonia. Knowing that their remaining colonies border Northern Rangerian colonies, these places will be our next targets.

We will liberate Macedonia and Bosnia from Caprilusan control. Afterwards, we will help in the mainland. If Slattery continues in his mistake of pulling out his troops from his colonies (excluding Turkey, it seems), then we will be able to easily and quickly take their remaining colonies.

Until then, we hope to fight with you in Turkey.

Northern Rangerians were not known for fussing about, and indeed the news of Caprilusan withdrawal from the west of Bosphorus was greeted as a chance to make sure that the "backyard" of Arkadia was protected. The occupation was quick and succesful, Northern Rangerian tanks and Jaegers taking populated centres quickly, and with the help of Peloponnesian auxiliaries pacifying the looting begun by Caprilusan withdrawal.

The west was now secured; the Principality had no more reason to fear of a back-door attack once they moved against Caprilusan Turkey.

We wish to inform you of the situation in Europe, and to ask a request from you. Caprilusa has colonies in Bosnia and Macedonia. We are currently in a state of war with them, due to their leader's actions and the fact that he has virtually taken his people hostage. We are not alone in this effort - we are alligned with Northern Rangeria and New Chalcedon.

However, we do have one request of you. Our troops need to pass through your European colonies, and our Air Force needs to pass through your airspace. We ask this because there is no other way for us to liberate the Caprilusan colonies of Bosnia and Macedonia unless we pass through your colonies since our area of control extends only so far as Romania. We wish to help our allies, Northern Rangeria, pacify the area surrounding their Greek colony.

We do not ask you to join the war effort for us, but we only ask you of this one thing. Signed,

Gentlemen, we have received our reports from the Macedonian and Bosnian task forces. The pacification of the area is almost complete, and we are currently beginning disarming of local militia as well as offering transit to any Caprilusan native who does not wish to stay under Northern Rangerian rule.

However, considering the nature of this war, we are prepared to allow New Chalcedonian and Jayatian forces to use captured airports and harbours, if you so desire.

We have established garrison rule in the area for now; we estimate that the the armed forces of northern Arkadia are enough to maintain peace in the area until it can be fully annexed to Arkadia. However, in the interest of pushing against the reinforced Caprilusan positions in Turkey, we believe it is time that we discuss over-all strategy. Currently we have been working as singular entities; to take Caprilusan Turkey quickly and with as little bloodshed as possible we need to work together much more closely.

IC: The Adnan fleet moved forward through the Black Sea, and as he approached the coastline he had been notified that the fleet had come within eight kilometers from the shore.

"Launch the rest of our fighters," ordered the Admiral, "and prepare all of the troops for landing."

"Yessir!" replied his men.

On the deck of the two carriers, activity was bustling as MiG-29K Fulcrums took off from the Kuznetsov-class ships. Other ships had already began to fire missiles at the coastline targeting large buildings and anything that looks like it could make an effective garrison. Mi-24 Hind attack helicopters took off from several landing carriers made their way towards the coast to support the ground forces. Mi-8 Hips also took off carrying Republican Guard troopers from the Medina division to fastrope on the beach behind enemy lines. Yedinorog-class landing carriers launched their ZUBR hovercrafts which then made their way towards the beach. On board were Leasath's Medina, Nida, Hammurabi, and Nebuchadnezzer divisions. These shock troops would take the beach and establish a beachead for reinforcements to arrive.

Onboard the ZUBR, a platoon form the Nida division readied for the battle ahead.

"Okay men, this is it. Estimated time to departure is T-Minus one minute," said Sergeant Jahrid. He grabbed his AK-47 rifles and felt the extra magazines that were pocketed in his chest. The hard ceramic tin armor he wore was underneath. It would provide little real protection, perhaps taking a bullet or two, but still, it was better than nothing. "When we hit the beach," continued Jahrid, "there will be no time to kiss the ground. Get your rifle and start shooting! Is that understood?"

"Yes sir!" came the unanimous reply.

Private First-Class Khalid Al-Abraha gripped his RPG-7 launcher tightly, and had two RPG-7 warheads strapped on his back. He looked around at the other men carrying various weaponry, AK-47's, G3's, RPG-7's, RPG-29's, Dragunov sniper rifles, and a few AK-74U sub machine guns. The hovercraft moved onwards quickly at a steady pace, and moved towards the beach. Above them were the Mi-8 Hip helicopters which were to fly into Caprilusa low and fast, to move into the city to cause havoc for Caprilusan forces...

Back at Babylon Air Force Base in Leasath, long range strategic bombers, the Tu-22M2 variant, began take off checks to head towards Caprilusa to begin bombing campaigns there. The fleet itself was going to launch it's landing forces as soon as it could clear any opposing naval power and threatening shore defenses.

The ZUBR hovercrafts departed from the landing carriers and proceeded rapidly towards the beach. The hovercrafts moved quickly and rapidly, and were going to mimic the fighting techniques of the Erusean military during their invasion of Leasath in the war (http://nationstates.wikia.com/wiki/Leasath-Erusean_War) so many years ago. The ZUBR hovercrafts fired off smoke canisters from their 30mm guns to provide cover for ground forces landing on the beach, to prohibit enemy forces from effectively concentrating machine gun fire on them. Naval forces were pounding the beach, and the hovercrafts landed, with forces getting off as fast as they could.

"Go!" yelled Sergeant Jahrid, "don't stop moving!" Soldiers scrambled off of their hovercraft and moved forward running up into the beach. T-72B tanks rolled off the hovercrafts and used their equipment to target Caprilusan targets through the smoke screens. Mi-8 Hip helicopters moved quickly beyond into the beach and were going to fast rope soldiers inland.

Re: Agreements.

Your Excellency,

It has come to our attention, after the end of the rebellion in our own nation, that the war against Caprilusa seems to be proceeding well. It seems that there is one minor problem: Caprilusan forces are concentrating against us. This has led to two conclusions, neither of which the Imperial General Staff is particularly fond.

First, our forces are already under extreme stress, and may fall before Caprilusan might unless we receive at least some support. While we can send more, the deaths of any of our soldiers is not an event to be relished.

Second, it seems that other nations (yourself and Northern Rangeria) are grabbing land left, right and centre, largely made possible by the fact that Caprilusa is concentrating on us.

Ultimately, what We want is this: first, some kind of guarantee that New Chalcedon will not have gone to war for no profit. Second, We suggest that so long as there is a friendly beachhead in the enemy's backyard, and New Chalcedonian forces have established total naval superiority, that Jayate and Northern Rangeria reinforce these beachheads, so that we don't lose them.

The young man he greeted smiled and said "I wish to bring this war to a speedy and successful conclusion, before Caprilusa's allies can intervene. To that end, I had the Imperial Navy send every transport they could get their hands on, and add a moderate military escort. The Imperial Army filled these transports with over 50,000 men plus armoured units, air support and supplies for all of the above. The Imperial Air Force has sent over 1,000 F-35 (II)s, and sufficeint AWACS support to significantly enhance fire control. I want us to push, and to keep pushing, until the Caprilusan colony of Turkey is restored to the Empire."

"I came ahead, aboard one of the AWACS aircraft. The naval and land forces will be here in three days. Your job is to hold Antoch until they arrive. Can do?"

"Can do, Majesty!"

The Imperial base at Famagusta carefully stayed dead, issuing only orders to move Imperial forces from Attales, which was in danger of falling, to Antioch, also in danger of falling. While this move conceded Attalea to the enemy, it shored-up the defenses of Antioch long enough that the relief force should have more than sufficient time to arrive.

At night...

A brisk westernly wind had picked up, sending waves crashing against the sandy beaches that in another time and place would have been called "the Turkish Riviera". Now and here, however, the moon and stars were hidden behind clouds, masking the arrival of unwanted guests.

Small, silent swiftboats made landfall and the first soldiers jumped on the shore, their assault rifles scanning the area, making sure that their presence had so far gone unnoticed. Men in black combat gear, their faces blackened, jumped from the swiftboats and headed for cover. One of them, once he had pressed his back against the cliff walls, brought a small microphone to his lips.

"Kraken, this is Mama Turtle. The mothers have landed. Repeat, the mothers have landed. Over", he whispered to the microphone.

A moment of silence, then the crackle of radio from his earpiece. "Roger, Mama Turtle. Proceed to hatching area and lay the eggs. Kraken, over and out."

The man - commander of the company who had made landfall, quickly summoned platoon leaders to him, and pointed out their targets on the map. They all knew what to do, and as quickly as they had arrived, the 2nd Company of the 15th Black Pike Regiment dispersed, leaving the area empty once more.

For others, the night would not be as peaceful...

The Jayatians believed that the forces of Andy the Tyrant would be landing in North West Turkey at midnight on the 23rd of April, a telegram from the Gnereal's brother had confirmed that. But the telegram was not from the Ambassador to Jayate.

While the forces of New Chalcedon were locked in combat with the Caprilusan forces on the west coast of Turkey, on the 9th of April at 0300 hours, 900,000 troops, 227 heavy battleships alongside several battalions of submarines, cruisers, a legion of bombers, close to 2000 fighter jets and anti-Aircraft ships equipped with state-of the-art weaponary invaded the islands of New Chalcedon.

Thousands of paratroopers sailed in over the skyscrapers, hostages were taken, buildings were raised, and the home military were easily outmatched by the full force of the entire Tyrantian military focused over one small island. Tactical explosions were detonated to knock out communication between cities. By the end of the day, forces had taken half of the capital and had preceeded to invade the other islands of crete, cyprus and rhodes.

New Chalcedon had been taken completely by surprise.

Meanwhile, with boosts from the Tyrantian military, Caprilusan home forces (the entire military now, all the colonies had been abandoned in my last post) seemed to be at a match for the Chalcedonian and Jayatian invasions.

A small fleet of Stealth Nuclear submarines were deployed to try and knock out Chalcedonian warships travelling to and from the homeland, as were several F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighters, who were deployed thanks to funds pumped into Caprilusa through extensive trade between it and it's homeland of Cardinal Newman (see Caprilusa Trade Surplus) who were employed to try and rid the skys of unwanted intruders.

3. As per #1, but with...let's see - 227 heavy battleships. No warning, no spotting permitted, nothing.

4. You allow me no chance to defend my territory, but demand a chance to defend yours.

5. Just how the hell did you move a million troops in a newly-established colony? Having studies Australian history, I know just how much of a limitation lack of existing infrastructure can be.

6. "Legions of bombers", hmmm? From where?

7. I would like to remind you that "Tyrant" and yourself (assuming that you're not the same player), together, are smaller than the People's Republic of China. Yet, somehow, you are able to ship a third of the PLA, come up with well over a million tons of warships, and several years' worth of global military aircraft production, all in the blink of an eye. Interesting, to say the least.

Given these, plus the following data:

8. You attempted an NBC attack, and when reminded that I had countermeasures in place, attempted to "retro" it.

9. The cost of the total military forces you have named comes to several years of global economic output, yet a nation roughtly the size of the US has the ability to throw such forces away on a colony.

10. You attack someone whose back is turned, and then have a go at people when they defend their ally;

I have concluded that you are nothing more than a troll, someone who derives amusement and entertainment from acting in an artificially childish fashion online, where you think that no-one can call you on it. Wrong. You are a prat.

To anyone who takes his drivel seriously, I have the following to say: All along, I had over 30 million soldiers in hiding (I know they couldn't physically fit on all of my colonies put together, but hey, who cares?), as well as 10,000 hyper-advanced aircraft, 100 aircraft carriers, 500 battleships, and over 10,000 submarines. Bang, you're dead.:sniper:

That is about how childish you have been acting, Cap. And I've had enough of it. Congratulations; you have successfully ruined my enjoyment of the entire thread. And, indeed, of NationStates in general. Well done, jerk.:upyours:

The word "over-reaction" is a word not used as commonly as neccesary in most situations, however, this is one of those in which it must be emplyed.

You seem to have taken a strong offense to me ever since the start of this fictional RP that takes place on an internet forum and has lasted less than a week, and considering that this is fictional I do not see why I cannot do what I want. After all, you could just call upon Zeus to smite me and my empire, right? It's fictional, calm down. "Fictional" means "made-up" in case you didn't know.

I believe that your description of me acting childish is something that can be aptly called "Hypocritical".

My currency is also worth one hell of a lot more than yours, (mine: 1 exponential function = $2.7183 whilst yours: 1 nomisma = $0.3839) and my economy is much higher. Just because of my population and my position (Turkey) doesn't mean I'm defenceless. I'm more cappable than you'll ever be. How rich is your country compared to mine and how much more technically advanced and more powerful is yours? Just because you put it right at the beginning of the thread doesn't mean it's not God-modding. I'm far stronger than yours.

As to your newly gained opinion of NationStates, I say nothing. It is an idiotic statement to say that me invading your (fictional) homeland once on an online RP reduces your opinion of an entire MMORPG, if you work like that, then it is you who is the chilidish "troll-like" prat.

Let's play it your way.

General Tony Slattery was hiding away in his cave, saluting the nazi flag, when suddenly, several brave strapping New chalcedonian heroes came bursting through the doors. Slattery, being a troll-like prattish coward, died of shock immediately.

Back home in New chalcedon, everyone cracked open a bottle of Champagne, had a massive party and had a great party to celebrate the destruction of the viscous enemy.

Because they were all prattish trolls, all the Caprilusans were killed by the New chalcedonians. Serves 'em right.

As the emperor walked out to greet his citizens the next day, his stunning good looks and charisma gave multiple orgasms to everyone within a 5-mile radius. He gave the people some money, then went back inside to go help the needy.

In the end, everyone who was ever associated with caprilusa died and went to hell, whilst all those good chalcedonian types immediately went to heaven, and became Jesus' best buddies.

The End.

It's not important, mate.
It's an online RP.
If you met me in public without knowing it was me, you'd probably fall in love with me, for I am not a childish prattish troll who derives entertainment from acting in an artificially childish fashion online at all.

I don't actually recall wanting to be in this int he first place anyway.
I just got pmed by someone telling me to be here.
Here's a copy of my first post:

It was made before yours.

But if you really don't want me, fine, I'll go.

And I am strongly resisiting the urge to call you a fuckwit, but because I'm so lovely and un-prattish I won't.

No offence, Cap, but I think your post just confirmed New Chalcedon's opinion of you. Not that I'm too pleased of him calling quits on this, mind you...

It's not all about numbers, you know... If it would be, we could just play this game with calculators, and whoever was here first would have the immediate advantage just because he or she had the numbers on his side.

What we're all a bit vexed about is that you don't seem to give two bits about how other people might react, or pull deus ex machinae like that anthrax bomb out of your hat. I was hoping you might loosen up a little and we could have a proper war RP here, but I hope that even you can admit that that whole "Poof, now I own your colonies" bit was an asshat move to make. What if the waters around Crete were mined? What if my own radars would have picked you up (I've mentioned here and in the Colonization thread several times the radar net built on the Aegean and Arkadia)? And trust me, moving hundreds of ships and close to a million soldiers with their gear, ammunition, food and vehicles would definitely not have gone unnoticed.

And unfortunately, Cap, "Fine, I didn't want to be here in the first place" is not an adult response.

So, what do we do now? Does Cap forfeit or does he get a chance to post again? This time with New Chalcedon given a chance to defend himself, that is... Personally I'd like to continue, but... *sighs*

Lemme know if we're gonna go on.

Fair enough. I am not an adult, therefore I do not give adult responses. However, I am intelligent enough to understand when people are exaggerating and over-reacting.

To be honest, I don't care what would happen if the waters were mined or people picked me up over radar. I'm a mad guy named after a minor british celebrity, remember?

Oh well. At least I am destined for something in my life other than spending most of my adult life getting het up over RP's on the internet.

Let's carry on. Strike my past moves from the record.
Andy the Tyrant's troops are still here though. (He is not the same person as me, by the way, Chalcedon.)

All troops (every single one of them) are to be moved to the capital city.

Countermand that.

OOC: Leasath, let's not make this any worse than it is -.- Let's just keep going. And Cap... By "capital" I assumed you meant that the Tyrantian forces are heading towards Istanbul. If I am wrong, please correct me. And since you didn't say anything about my bombers... ;)

IC:

Cities of Izmir, Bergama and Ezine, and their surrounding countryside, Caprilusan Turkey
Dawn

The Northern Rangerian bombing raids had met very little resistance, which was rather confusing for the NRDC High Command. Military intelligence had assured that the Caprilusan Turkish coastline was well-defended. Yet, not a single artillery-shot had not been fired - not even when the F-18s had decimated the anti-aircraft turrets. The cities of Caprilusan Turkey were badly-hit, the port of Izmir basically useless because of the skeletal hulls of the ships sunk by bombers. Roads and telephone wires had been damaged, and on many an area electricity had been knocked out.

Still, they greatest brunt was born by Caprilusan military targets. The night-time blitz had decimated important airfields and depots in the area. And like phantoms, the Northern Rangerian planes had retreated back to the Aegean, leaving only destruction in their wake.

Kusadasi, Caprilusan Turkey
Throughout the following day...

The Caprilusan troubles were not over, however. Deeper south, near the city of Kusadasi, the local armed forces had to face new troubles. In the morning, one of the tank regiment depots exploded without a warning, destroying and damaging tanks, APCs and other vehicles in the area. Three similar explosions - the local power plant, an important bridge and another army depot - were reported within the next two hours. Too many too quickly to be an accident... Perhaps some army detachment of New Chalcedonian, Northern Rangerian or Jayatian origin had managed to make landfall? Or perhaps they had begun arming some so-far-unknown local militia who had a bone to pick with the military?

Aegean Sea

To the CO of Tyrantian Fleet, this is Northern Rangerian Europa Navy. You are approaching Northern Rangerian territorial waters. Halt immediately and turn back, or we will be forced to open fire.

This was the message transmitted to the Tyrantian fleet as they turned their bows towards north. Caprilusa may control the Bosphorus, but the Aegean Sea belonged to Northern Rangeria and New Chalcedon. And the Northern Rangerians would suffer none trespass, especially not a likely-hostile fleet.

Tyrantian fleet, halt immediately and turn back. This is your final warning.

Gentlemen... I will not mince words with you. The arrival of the Tyrantian fleet so early and so suddenly was a tremendous setback in our hopes to settling this Mediterranean crisis quickly and with as little bloodshed as possible.

At the moment, the combined New Chalcedonian and Northern Rangerian naval forces in the Aegean are preparing to stall the progress of the Tyrantian fleet. Still, this is a conflict we cannot win as separate entities. Therefore I urge every friendly nation to help in containing the Tyrantians, as well as considering beginning negotiations with Caprilusa. We must either win quickly or find a way out of this conflict as soon as possible.

OOC: Caprilusa, name one time that I have acted personally hostile towards you other than my last post. And in reponse to you, here are a few points:

1. Fair enough - I didn't know you were still underage. This does not excuse you from the basics of etiquette, however.

2. The point of RPing on this forum is to make it realistic made-up stories. Fiction, yes, but war fiction rather than fantasy. Other threads sometimes go into outright fantasy. If what you want is a "I said so, so it happens" thread, go to one. This isn't it.

3. You don't have a clue as to the value of my currency, and I would like to point out to you that Japan has one of the stongest economies in the world, but Y100 = USD1 (at least a few months ago). The amount of purchasing power of one unit of currency has little to do with the strength of the economy. As a third-year student in economics, just trust me on that (minor) point.

4. Having reinforcements is fine, for both sides - it makes the wars interesting. I presume that the other player gave his consent?

5. I have looked at your NS states. Yes, your economy (along with Tyrant's) is better than mine, but not that much so. And my state is as large as yours and your ally's put together. I would therefore state with some confidence that my military forces are at least comparable to yours alone.

6. NR has already made this point: too many men to move unnoticed.

7. The reason that I stated "I have advanced toys to play with" is that one of my nation's specialties is IT, otherwise known as electronics capability. Look it up on my NS page. I wasn't saying that you don't have them - your capabilities are for you to say, within reason.

8. Your homeland is not here in Europe. It was called a "colonisation" thread for a reason. Ergo, yes, you are working under the limitations of a largish area with rugged terrain, a hard climate, and developing infrastructure. Set against that, you have significant capability to hide fair amounts of troops, and use desert-fighting against anyone who goes inland after you. Which is why I haven't. Also, note that I have sent only a portion of my total military, due to these limitations in my own colonies.

Here is my idea. Let's (the two of us) rewind to the part where your forces have chased mine out of three of the four cities I occupied, and add this:

- You get to determine the forces sent by your ally, but keep it within reason. More battleships than have ever been in commission at one time is, to say the least, excessive.

- Yes, you could probably have taken Rhodes more or less by surprise (a small boat can reach it from the mainland, after all).

- Due to the fact that there are AWACS aircraft in the air (remember them?), you fail to take Crete by surprise. Since the Imperial Navy taskforce is attached to Northern Rangeria, you get to land significant troops on Crete, although not all get through. The island is now a battleground, and Imperial Air Force planes are now forced to land on the mainland to avoid the crossfire.

- Regarding Cyprus, you make less progress, having been spotted. You got a few troops through, but the Imperial Army managed to push them back into the sea.

- Imperial forces still hold Antioch on the mainland, as you said nothing about that.

If you are determined to ruin this thread with god-modding, let me know and I'll give my forces to Northern Rangeria to RP and go elsewhere. If you want to make this work so that everyone (including you) has fun, let me know and I'll work with you to try for that, instead. Fair ask? I will post no moves until I hear a reply, because more confusion and argument would utterly kill this thread.

Well, that's annoying. Also, now I frankly couldn't care... Not that I had anything to look forward to in my thread, it seemed to have been hijacked while my own posts were ignored.

Not hijacked, Lea... Some of us were here to make sure your troops get home. And don't blame yourself; Caprilusa ignored you, yes, but that speaks a lot about his character. It's not a stain on yours. And when we decide what do we do with Caprilusan lands, we might still RP Northern Rangeria escorting the Leasathi out... If you'd like, that is?

Well, I felt that it was hijacked with everything going on while Cap refused to even answer up to my first post and stated somewhere that my forces "managed" to escape the Bosphorous while I clearly posted the beginnings of an invasion of Caprilusan Turkey.

I will just RP the fleet leaving the area, rectonning any invasion movements.
