To Queen Parvati, Rani of Jinnu, Daljapur, and the Shankara Islands, shining light of the Jindali people and head of the Lotus throne, His Royal Highness King Neil of Forthshore, Shield of the people and Defender of the One True Faith sends greetings.
Your message comes at a propitious time. Our second son, Prince Jacob has come of age recently and into his inheritance as Prince of the High Valley. It would suit our royal purpose for him to marry. He is clean of limb and healthy of body, having trained in the martial arts as befits one of his station. Prince Jacob has been tutored by the best tutors in both the classics and also in modern military matters. He competes well in the lists and is an accomplished tafl player.
We wish to know whether you would desire us to arrange a royal visit to your lands so that you may meet the young prince or whether you would prefer to visit Forthshore.
Yours in fellowship, King Neil etc....

Congratulations, my royal friend, in ascending to the Lotus throne; I send my condolences on the unfortunate passing of your sister. It has come to my attention that you seek a consort and I have decided to propose my own son, Prince Nicholas. We are both of royal stock; as I am the brother of the Empress of Ixania's father (thus being her uncle) and I would be glad to arrange a meeting between yourself and my son. He is a handsome man with a mastery of fencing (often fencing with the Empress' brother, Prince Alexander), a gentlemanly attitude towards all women, and a good education in all subjects commonly taught to royalty. He speaks Ixanian, German and English and would be willing to learn your language; he is also an expert athlete, primarily active in marathons, etc and he is twenty three in age; expressing a desire to find a lady for himself. If you would be gracious enough to give him an audience, he can arrive in the coming days. Please consider my son as a possible suitor; and I hope that prosperity fills your nation and brings you great joys.

Signed in friendship,
Constantine Schverzinski

His Eminence, the Khedive Roger II wishes me to inform you of his eligibility at this time. He is 25, a first rate marksman and hunter and skilled riding both horses and camels. He would be honoured to accept the hand of Queen Parvati Rani in marriage and create and unbreakable link between our nations.

Prince Jacob prepares himself for his journey to Rajnapura, packing his dress uniform and overseeing the work of his staff.
"Find out what kind of thing the Jindali Queen likes," he tells Jamesie, his closest friend and confidant, "I don't want to mess this up."

Jamesie's eyes roll upwards as he heads off to investigate who in the palace knows anything about Jindali custom and history.
