World Design and Trade Organization (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showforum=58)
What is WDTO?
After some deliberation, it has been decided that most of the designs not reviewed by the NS Draftroom (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php) are, mildly speaking, imperfect.
Since competing with unrealistic designs is silly, we have decided to establish a NS-wide approval process, seeing as the Draftroom is now widely recognized as the world authority on design. The decision to create the WDTO now was sparked by the thread in the Lunch room (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=2783&view=findpost&p=3002730), where all the important people have agreed that the old APOC-Gholgoth wars have become a bit stale, so I was ordered by my superiors to come up with a better initiative. Since they don't take disobedience kindly, I had to do it - and here it comes: welcome the World Design and Trade Organization, the NS-wide monitor of design quality.
To make things simpler, the initial WDTO administration is Draftroom members. It will be simpler and more reliable this way. You can apply for positions after joining.
What are the rules?
From now on, every design going on sale can apply for a Draftroom Approval Stamp. One is the Specialist Approval, the other General Approval.
Specialist approval depends on category, and can be granted by:
- Ground design: Macabees, Sumer
- Naval design: Hogsweat, Isselmere, Praetonia
- Aerospace design: Candiro, layarteb, Tyrandis, The Silver Sky
- Munitions design: Juumanistra, Mekugi, Hogsweat
- Future tech: ZMI, Izistan
- Miscellaneous: Any NS Draftroom moderator
General Approval is usually sought after receiving Specialist Approval, and verifies proper pricing and writeup, and can be granted by Vault 10, Rosdivan, Macabees and Sumer.
Designs exhibiting pictures made by the designer may also apply for optional Lineart Approval, to ZMI, Praetonia, Hogsweat or Wiilink, that gives the right to sell the design using the picture alone with no writeup.
Designers who have a section in the International Mall (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showforum=29) are considered automatically approved, unless a reviewer states otherwise. By the way, keep in mind that the Mall is a great way to sell your designs: your storefront never sinks from the top page, you get an own subforum with unlimited number of threads, and importantly, you receive full moderator rights in your subforum.
Storefronts and designers not yet approved by the Draftroom are invited to join it here (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?act=Reg).
Designers that don't submit their works for peer review won't be allowed to display the Draftroom Approved Badge, which will soon be pretty much a prerequisite for a design to be used in any serious RP.
How to join WDTO?
That part is simple. Just join the NS Draftroom (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?act=Reg), post your designs for peer review, and you're automatically granted membership. To go further, you'll find a lot of interesting ways in our forum.
