Well in all my time here I don't think I've ever seen an Asia Colonization thread. At least one specifically dedicated to Asia. But oh well anyway, I wanted to give this a whirl by colonizing Asia on NS Basis. Like the European ones. The nation will be claimed in your name and it will be yours to rule as you see fit. You also get to chose what resources you have, what the climate is like and ultimately what to do with it? Will you create a penal colony? Are you spreading your Empire? Are you just wanting to expand your sphere of influence, the choice is yours. You may claim 3 countries. I have decided to split China up into several small provinces. You can claim two provinces HOWEVER that will be your quota. Everything in black is off limits everything in aquatic blue is me.

To help you out, the map shows the -stans blacked out, unclaimable. China has two provinces yet, those will be your entire claim, I think. Not sure, though, the post says two, so I was wondering if having two with Vietnam was alright. Japan is already claimed, as is India.

Hey... That's the very reason I took smaller bits like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh instead of just grabbing the biggest bits. I just took India because that seemed more interesting to me than China...

I'll try this out. I'd like Indonesia, Cambodia, and the far off Mongolia, please.

Jayate, I think that Sakhalin is off-limits. I forgot to darken it.

Shouldn't Taiwan come with my claim since Aqua Anu said China was divided into five provinces, making Taiwan part of mine. Especially if Uiri gets Hainan.

Corbournne - Taiwan is technically a different China as it is not administered by the PRC (what is commonly meant by China) but administered by the ROC. Both claim all of mainland china and Taiwan but actually administration is Taiwan - ROC and Mainland China - PRC. Ergo it is not technically China and therefore isn't part of any of the five provinces. And keep in mind that you already have three countries where as without Taiwan I would only have 2.

I'm well aware of that,

But this isn't RL, it's NS Colonization. "Commonly known" doesn't mean that is what the starter meant. China is China, no distinction was made between the ROC and PRC. We'll have to wait to see what Aqua Anu says, but if China is seperated in the first place, there is no reason Hainan should not be counted as a province and Taiwan should.

Glad to see there has been some great interest in this and thank you to Kirav for updating the Map for me.

Regarding Taiwan, as Uiri stated, because this isn't meant as a RL setting, Taiwan is an independent territory not apart of China. (Unless in the RP you want to make a conquer attempt) For the sake of all fairness I will allow some minor geographic tweaking of the Taiwan area. You may add islands in proximity.

Corbournne, you may have all the islands in the area, basically, with the exception of Taiwan and Hainan Dao, which shall be mine. This means, more/less:

Ryukyu Islands
Dongsha Qundao
Zhongsha Qundao
Huangyan Dao
Nansha Qundao
Xisha Qundao

That's all I got. I'll rent out Hong Kong and Macau, assuming either one of them is in my territory, which I am not sure of. I'll make a separate map for China because the lines drawn aren't exactly very detailed about what is where.

Ok, thanks. Guess neither one of us will have those islands, Uiri, though I suppose Aqua might have the Ryukyus due to his Japanese claim. I'm going to assume HK and Macau are mine due to their proximity to my mainland claim. If there's a problem with this let me know.

No problem if I have Hainan and Taiwan. You can have all those little Chinese island Dao/Qundao things though.

I would point out that, small as it is, I believe Brunei is still open to any late colonizers.

Aye, same goes for me, it's hasn't been since ESS I was in a RL good Earth. AWOP and EFJ didn't quite end up working out.

Animarnia/Corbournne: Will do. It's taking a while to setup since it's a little bit in the future (I revised a 'lil if Candistan is reading), so I'm working out some kinks. Overall, though, I figure to have it up one of these days.


Second thought, I'll void Brunei and let someone else have it. Little island nation is not the best place to have a hub ;)

Stok, watch out. I own Taiwan and I think it is Corbournne who owns the mainland China right across it. I don't know about Corbournne but I'm not going to let you through the Taiwan Strait. If you obtain permission ICly, perhaps we could do a trade off of some other territory if you do not manage to obtain permission from one of us?

Around this platform will be a 3 nmi claimed territorial zone, and then around that a 50 nmi economically exclusive zone. I'll just say that it sits on an oil deposit of some sort. It's OOC right now, so whatever you say doesn't really matter :p . It's whoever gets there first!
