Human Colonists Murdered (Open, MT)

San Alfonso Colony

By all accounts, it was a normal day on the newly established colony just on the coast of the Goblin island, the Humans distrusted the Goblins and the feeling was reciprocated, so this colony was as much an exercise in cleansing as it was in taking the natural oil resource from the Goblins, who knew of nothing to do with the resource, the humans had their plans, housed up in the secure bunker in the center of the artificial town, here sat Field Marshall Younge, Governer Mitchell and other assorted characters important to the life of the town.

They sat, around a lit table showing the terrain of the island they had stolen from the Goblins, "Goblin ambushes on our Oil Pumps here have reduced profits dramatically." corporate representative Lucas pointed at the oil wells, "But our scouts have reported much more oil just over this hill range here." He moved his finger over a series of orange lines, "I would suggest we set up several fortresses around our wells, push back the Goblins, then move in to take advantage of this area." Lucas was a grim man, long grey hair, a stubbled hazy beard and skin so white that even in the dimly lit room he seemed bright.

Field Marshall Younge leant in, he too was as old as Lucas, but age had been somewhat more graceful to him, he appeared clean shaven and tidy, only his skin was a little rough, "I agree, but the Goblin attacks have been thus far wild, unpredictable, these things are animals, and I don't think they're interested in territory, nor our interest in Oil." He rubbed his smooth chin, "I doubt they will make a retreat, I'd instead suggest an air campaign, flushing out the Goblins in our already established areas, followed by a land assault securing these areas." He motioned with his hands, showing what an assault by air and land looked like.

Oil Derrick #1026

King Gritsnak swung the choppa over his head, bringing it down with full momentum onto the Derrick captains head, cleaving the soft skull in two, his mouth twisted into a macabre smile, pulling the crude cutting instrument from its resting place, a plume of black smog washed over him, as the assorted vehicles of the Goblin vanguard rolled over the hill, the next stop was the humie establishment, a blight on the name of the Moon God, Gritsnak lept onto the back of a Waggun, ripping a Stubba from one of the dead Gobbos, the heavy chunky device was more of a demoralising weapon than a deadly tool, as was consistent with most Goblin weaponary.

It was a short journey, from down the hill it took about twenty Goblin minnitz to reach the outskirts of the Town, the Human guards heard the Goblin vehicles before they saw them, but it was still a shock to see such primative creatures riding shotgun on such complex pieces of machinery, as was normal, the humans had underestimated the Goblins, a volley of rokkits, nearly blacking out the sky with smog, flew from the Goblin position and smashed into the Human outposts, some scattering off in wild directions over the Town, detonating over homes and offices.

Gritsnak shouted for a charge of the light vehicles into the town, the guns of the Shooty Trakkz pointing off towards any near threat, and simply gunning down anyone they saw, the objective of this attack seemed more to provoke chaos and destroy as much as were possible, whilst the bulk of the Goblin fighting force was off looting, Gritsnak and his Boyz leapt off at the Town halls, the Colonial guard having been so disrupted they were tossed about the town, Gritsnak burst through the doors, his Boyz surrounding the hall and the three important figures of San Alfonso, the Goblins assaulted the men, knocking them each unconcious.

Field Marshall Younge awoke in a haze, he was upside down, hung over the marble stone floor, a goblin, staring with menace, stood in front of him, it wore several layers of tribal clothing and had not an inch of skin untainted by tatoos or piercings, "Thees aah town nar, oomie!" The Goblin spoke in a very disjointed human accent, "Aah boyzis murting tha restar yar koloneests." Younge looked around the room, trying to find something by which he could escape, "Don' ya botha lookin' for escarp, wezis gonna keep ya alive!" The Goblin held onto Younges jaw, as he made the threat.

"What do you want?" Younge asked harridly, nearly begging for his life, "Money? Oil, What?" He asked.

Gritsnak smiled, "We not as greedi as da hoomies." The Goblin picked up a clay dish of some fashion, it contained a thick red paste, "I don' wan' nothin' but for fightin'." He smiled, expecting the human to understand, "But tha Chief Grob'urda." He paused, "'Ee want yer soul!" Gritsnak slapped the red paste over Younge who took one last look for escape, "Goblin magic!" Gritsnak whispered, taking a small knife and jamming it into Younges chest.

****

The town was left, empty, save for the bloodied corpses of the Oil workers and their families, the Goblins had no use for a human town, leaving it in decay whilst they went on to other ventures, but humans are greedy things, once word gets out about the Oil, they'll be back, and in bigger numbers, not that the Goblins care, more things to shoot up.

ooc: long time no see Toops :)

i'm future tech based these days but you'd remember me as the Kirisuban Empire

So given a partly shared past there might be a way for us to help out in the situation.

(OOC: Dude! Awesome, I've seen ye around, I wasn't sure if it was you or just a pretender to the throne :P I might later delve into FT, that and PT was what Toops was designed for, but I fancied a challenge, and what gets more challenging than adapting Goblins for MT :P iffen ye wanna help, my nation are slightly biased against Humans (not racist) so not discluding outside assistence, but ye'd better be ready for some pretty grim stuff :P)

ooc: if you can get the Toops into space it would be awesome.

The same basic principles apply to the nation only they are explorers with a very strong warrior background. Think slightly less hostile Klingons but with some of the Romulan's cunning. its also a 90% female population.

ic:

Even in space the legends of the Toopish tribes remain. In this case in a Neo Kirisuban computer bank.

In the distant past the Kirisuban empire and the Toopish tribes had been trading partners and allies to a point.

These goblins weren't excluded when the Empire closed itself off but now the tribes had rose again.

Captain Sato looked over the reports of the fighting. Nearer home in the depths of space Orks and Goblins had fleets of conquest and now these tribes were trying to carve out more space for themselves. Perhaps they were dealing with invaders but that would have to be determined.

With it being uncertain a subspace radio was beamed into the battle zone with a message written on paper in Toopish on it which read :

For the attention of your King,

Do you remember the stories and the old alliance the Toopish tribes and the Kirisuban Empire had.

The Empire has gone the way of all empires but we are the children of them and the allies your legends and stories would have recorded.

We ask that you call a ceasefire so we can mediate peace between you and the humans. Together you are stronger but divided you will both fall.

We can be contacted using this radio and my starship the 'Empress Midori' is in Earth orbit since we are a UN nation.

Captain Megumi Sato commanding the diplomatic starship 'Empress Midori'

Now they had to wait. The written language had been preserved and now it was being used again by former allies.

(OOC: I'd really rather keep it MT, FT tends to be too disorganised, plus it gets boring fighting Star Wars ripoff number 296,000,000 and one, I might be willing to make an FT thread as not to make your post a total waste, I hope you understand dude.)

( ooc: thats cool but I've mixed MT and FT before in embassy exchanges and even in the UN stuff. if we start a FT thread I'll erase my intro here and let it continue with other players )

(OOC: if I don't get some people who want the free oil, right here, it's free, then I may make this an FT thread, but until then, this is a purely conflict thread, thus the whole MT/FT mix doesn't work very well, so, yah, bump please!)

(OOC: Screw it, Kiri, you're up :P transferred to FT)

The Goblins picked up the message, a lone Skrappa friggit having received the transmission whilst on a skrap run, reports of the human incursion had yet to reach all edges of the tiny empire, so the message was simply tossed around until someone understood its contents.

It eventually found its way to Gritsnaks personal Battle Barge, the Kirisubans(sp?) were mentioned in ancient Goblin lore, reputable warriors, and amongst the few human species the Goblins respected, exactly why they had chosen so long to stay out of contact, and why now they had contacted the Goblins was set aside.

For Da 'tention of da Kaptin

Old humie frendz, wez got storiz of Kirizuban boyz, youziz da onli humie boyz ooz we trust, soz weziz gunna let yahz kum kunvinz uz uvvawize, kordinutz in da messig.

Captain Megumi Sato commanding the 'Empress Midori' also knew about the Toops who had almost passed into legend. However the records of the old Kirisuban Empire hadn't and they knew about the Toopish tribes as a result and how to deal with them.

So after the comms officer had explained some aspects of the message (boyz translating as warriors for example) she sent a visual reply back on the same subspace frequency to the battlebarge.

I am Captain Megumi Sato commanding the Neo Kirisuban starship Empress Midori. I am pleased to see that the honourable Toopish warrior tribes are still with us. Other nations may rise and fall but our warrior cultures remain.

I would suggest hosting initial discussions on my ship so that representatives of both parties, human and Toopish can tell their sides of the story.

If this is agreeable to you we will be available to mediate and to help both sides to come to an agreement.

Gritsnak stared at the hastily set up TV, it had taken an age to find the right loot to make a device capable of receiving and transmitting video messages, and it was still somewhat grainy, similar to most Goblin technology, still a little distructful of a mediated peace between him and greedy humans, he took a short moment to consider his answer.

"Kan't promiz da humies gunna be tha, wez not in kommunikation wiz dem, an' we kan't promiz dat we'll agree, kuz tha humies been dezikratin' aah 'omelandz, but kuz ye a old alliez wez gunna lizzun ter whut yez gotta say." Gritsnak knew that most humans had trouble translating Goblin, so he quickly rushed off a basic translation, "we can't promise an appearance by the humans, we are not responsible for their actions, and we cannot promise that we will agree to a peace with the humans, because they have desecrated our homeland, however, our former relations lead me to agree to a mediated confrence."

****

Hypatia Major, Just Outside Goblin Space

Hypatia was a deep blue planet, pockmarked by brush strokes of white and green, it was the homeland (through colonisation and subsequent revolution) of the Hypatian humans, unaware, when they colonised the planet, that it was so close to a percieved barbaric threat, had they known, they probably wouldn't have began a period of further expansion.

Warfare had been somewhat hard on the Hypatians, although the Goblins had never reached the proximity of the Hypatian homeland, they had at several points in their history had the opportunity to do so, finding eligiable young men on the planets surface was a difficult task, most of the population were conscripted early in their adulthood, ready to fight the Goblin menace.

This didn't mean the Humans were opposed to a mediated peace, it simply meant that their conditions would be extremely high, there were planets and strategic locations the Hypatians would rather the Goblins didn't have, aswell as several space farms filled with junk that would need to be removed from proposed Hypatian space, they had before either hidden fleets or sent welded heaps of junk hurtling towards new planets.

The translation into english was helpful but Megumi's comms officer had a good grip of goblin by now.

What she said was being translated into goblin by Ensign Igawa.

"King Gritsnak, in that case I will attempt contact with the humans and see if they are agreeable to a conference. If they agree I'll send you a time and date for the meeting.

In the meantime would like to come over for dinner so we can renew old aquaintances and catch up on recent developments?"

Whilst Gritsnak respected the warrior caste of the Kirisubo, they found human cuisine to be somewhat off putting, a typical goblin consumes his food raw and rotting, it was assumed by humans that this was some evolutionary trigger put in place by goblins living in desolate lands with very little food, despite his disdain for human food, he could shuffle through it if it meant meeting the Kirisubans, "Yah, wez gunna kum ova, me bring mah boyz azwell."

****

A small round pod detached from the side rank of the Battle Barge, it could easily be confused for one of the many poorly attached sheets of scrap, needless, it rocketed over the divide, a tiny yellow jet propelling it slowly, whilst it could be said for the larger vessels, Skrappa's and Battle Barges, shuttles were not fast, inside the rusted craft was Gritsnak and four of his boyz, they were lightly armed, not expecting conflict, but still ready to fight should the worst happen.

Knowing Toopish culture the food for the goblins would be raw. So a meal could be laid out quickly and easily for them.

Chicken, beef and other meats were replicated by the chef and laid out on platters. Rice and sushi was the Captain's choice.

A four member female samurai escort would meet them. The red jacket and black trousers would be seen along with a red kevlar flak jacket and helmet. They also wore the two swords the Toops would be familiar with as well a hand phaser in their belt sashes.

Once docked they'd be escorted to the mess hall where Captain Sato would greet her ancient allies.

ooc: all the crew are asian females aged between 16 and 30. The typical uniform is a red wrap over jacket with black trousers and short boots. They all wear some kind of blade the usual choice being a foot long razor sharp dagger. Security forces wear either the twin swords of the samurai or a long straight sword.

(OOC: I'm gonna assume you have some sort of shuttle bay, otherwise, docking is going to be a total pain in arse for both of us.)

The dusty red shuttle slowly released four leg type structures, it softly crashed down on the clean Kirisuban hanger bay, causing rust flakes and dust to scatter around it, an elevator drifted down from the main body of the craft, standing on the middle was Gritsnak, surrounded by four Boyz, their armour had a similar rusted appearance to the shuttle, holstered around their belts were clunky pistols, which looked big enough to fire grenade sized charges, and swords so big they nearly touched the floor.

Gritsnak looked over at the Captain, everything about them seemed quite symetrical, tidy, the whole place was cleaned and sterile, it lacked goblin character, but the swords, hidden behind the Samuraii's backs, seemed rather sharp and nasty, if a little thin.

ooc : there is a shuttle bay so no worries there.

ic:

The samurai bowed and after introducing herself Samurai-Lt Amiko Harada and her team led King Gritsnak to where the Captain was.

She also bowed in the normal way and was wearing a long sword since she wasn't samurai.

"Its a pleasure to meet you in the flesh King Gritsnak. We've left a raw buffet for you and your boyz so feel free to make yourself at home.

I'm Captain Megumi Sato and its an honour to meet you" she politely said after she rose from her bow.
Toops
01-04-2008, 22:32
Gritsnak attempted a bow, but just seemed more squat than normal in doing so, he pulled himself up and attempted a crooked smile, "Pleaza ter meet yar too, Kaptin." He motioned for the boyz to gorge themselves of the open buffet, they willingly obliged, "Wenz we gunna get ter tha humie plannit?"

"Once we can get a reply back from them. We have to stay close to Earth but i'll arrange for another Pioneer class starship to take over" Megumi replied with a little smile.

"Diplomacy is as much in their interest but how much do you know about their military forces? Any information could be invaluable regardless of war or peace" she asked.

She used her chopsticks to roll up a little rice before popping it into her mouth. She could eat as well even with the boyz clearly enjoying the raw buffet.

(OOC: reduce the proximity to Earth, I've translated this into FT so we don't have to do horrible conversions from MT into FT.)

"Wez neva felt da need ter go ta tha 'omewuld, wez gunna fight 'em, but wez not gunna destroy dem, deys too fun ter keep fightin'." He smiled happily, remembering some of his previous encounters with the Humies, "Deyz got zum ded 'ard shipz, but nuffin' a lotta Slugz can' 'andle, and deyz make a reel nize boom too."

Megumi smiled after swallowing her rice ball. She was a small slender stunning woman and the two leaders couldn't have been anymore different in looks and size.

They still had somethings in common. They were warriors and never backed down from a fight. They also never gave up and were cunning adversaries if crossed.

"King Gritsnak it sounds like you have sufficient forces and weaponry to defeat them in that case. The oil on your lands is the main reason these human forces are here.

I'd be pretty upset as well if somebody was defiling my world and would fight back to get rid of them. If they don't want diplomacy we could help each other and restore the old alliance we used to have all those centuries ago.

I'm sure you'd have even more fun fighting them if you had access to satellite images of of their troop movements. Then you could hurt them harder, cut their supply lines and make their lives very hard.

Then they'd be either inclined to seek peace, one you could dictate the terms of or leave your lands in peace" she gently replied.
Toops
02-04-2008, 00:11
The Goblins had before experimented with satelite imagery, but there was never enough loot to make enough of them covering a large enough area, the idea had fascinated several Goblin kings and the Chief himself, "Yooz offrin' ter 'elp us destroy an enemy, wez not gunna say no."
Neo Kirisubo
02-04-2008, 00:26
Megumi smiled and after eating more rice and raw fish gently replied "Its the same principle as having aerial photography only you don't risk a pilot and an aircraft.

If they want to continue this fight and reject diplomacy we'll help you with this technology but as advanced as we are in electronics we've suffered setbacks in other ways. We wouldn't see an ally defeated if we could help them out.

Ten years ago we lost our homeworld as well as 90% of our population due to a bio weapon infection. Its taken this long to emerge again from our new homeworlds which is why our starships are all crewed by women.

Most of our men died when the dead didn't stay dead and had to be killed a second time. At present 90% of our population is female but the Kirisubans are still around and kicking. Its meant major adjustments to our culture back home but we never lost the warrior instinct and the code of bushido."

"We did King Gritsnak and we still fight to the death if the situation demands it. Thank for for the kind words all the same" Megumi replied.

Megumi nodded as she continued to eat her rice and fish.

"Theres always somebody to fight in space. We've encountered the Alliance of Imitated Worlds lately. First contact with this hive mind like race was a few weeks ago and they tried to assimilate the crew of the 'Empress Keiko' but where unsuccessful.

Then a couple of days later they attacked and disabled an old model defence force training ship. It took three of their smaller ships to achieve the aim but we know from the logs and security camera footage the crew fought to the last woman. Some of the crew were missing and its uncertain what happened to them.

You'll know their ships when you see them and some smaller ships have cloaking devices. They're shiny chrome coloured starships and they'll find your boyz a real handful if they try and attack you.

They try and bring people into unity with the hive mind by assimilating them. Other than that we don't know much more about them but its almost like fighting a machine rather than mortal foes but in every engagement against them so far we've fought well and made them pay a high price."

She talked gently as she told the King about a foe they might run into at some point. Even with space being very large chance sometimes pitted you against foes just because you both happened to be in the general area.
