IC: The Monad was driven away.
Not killed. It is unkillable.
But it was exiled. To the Dark Space.
Things have happened since then.
People have switched sides, switched occupations, switched pulses. But the Monad still has all the hate for everything.
One man seeks to harness the power of the Monad. The man also ha a very good chance of doing so, and if he does, and the Monad finds a physical body, he will be unstoppable.
Once again, the signals show. In Heaven, in Earth, in Hell, the message echoes.
Oh for f**ks sake, not again!

Now, once again, people are being drawn. To good, to evil. In this war, there can be no neutrality.
Old faces spill new blood, and the Monad wakes once more.

When the first living thing existed, I was there, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Those words. She had said that to Kain after she had revived him as part of his indoctrination. It was a simple way of explaining what she was. What he was. But now she was past that. She was no longer Orin the Reaper. She was Orin the Tormentor.

She stood in the middle of Central Park. The was a homeless man sitting against a tree, dressed in torn, tatty denim. The wind howled through the park, and if it froze her in a thick parka, he must be like an iceberg. She was eating a sandwich at the time and noticed the man staring. She looked at the man pitifully and took a hundred dollar bill out of her jacket pocket. The man started and stared at the note intensely. She then wiped her mouth with the bill, used it to light a cigarette and walked away smiling.

New York, Ground zero
There was a slight flicker of white energy, no more than a brief crackle of webway energy, which rapidly grew, forming into the shape of a very tall woman. Graduly the shape began to solidify, forming into a brightly coloured pair of red and yellow checkered pants,a long flowing blue overcoat, a white mask and a large amount of technological orientated devises on a blue shirt.

With a blinding white flash of webwasy energy that nocked the some 20 people back that had gathered to watch. In the center of the small crater that had formed in the somewhat larger crater that was already there the figure leaped up, slasing up with a fairly intricate blade at some unseen foe "I dance the dance of death" She shreaked in a musical voice, then, realizing no one was where she had struck and adopted a calm and composed position. Slowly her head began to lower, she raised her hand to her head and began to shake with sobs.

OOC: Please note that any referance to 9/11 or ground0 is not intended to mock any of those who lost thier life or that of loved ones/ friends in the tragedy. Ground zero is used simply as a starting location for my charicter as itis rather fitting.

Orin, walking along the streets kicking a can heard the sobbing.
"Someones doing my work for me I see." She saw Taldeer crying. "What's got... that? Oh well, above and beyond..." Seeing the people scrambling away from the figure she frowned. What was this person? Then she looked back to Taldeer and laughed.

Talder froze. Slowly she raised her head, looking for the sorce of the laughter.
When she found it she shouted "DIE MON'KAI" and fired her shurikan pistol at Orin before leaping up to the top of the crater and puting her sword to Orins throght, just after the energy burst would have hit.

Orin frowned. The round from the shuriken cannon passed straight through her, and the same for Taldeer, hitting the ground behind Orin with a thump.
"Now, now, play nice." She stepped on the hand holding the sword. "Who are you?"

Orin clapped sarcastically.
"Bravo. Look what I can do." She burst into flames, and then was back to normal, minus the parka, which was lying in smoldering scraps at her feet. "Okay, your an... Eldar, did you say?" She continued, completely ignoring the scores of dumbstruck people. "And whats that?"

New York wasn't the same as he remembered it.
Not after the plauge.
Seth stalked the streets, suspiciously empty for a Big Apple night. Gone were the walking, talking people, the honking cars and bustle of one of the biggest cities in the world. Now it was cold and dark, scattered peices of paper and rubbish drifting along streets with scarse few passerby to notice. The diseases spreading across the globe had struck down many of the usual night prowlers, and distracted the others sufficently to abandon their nocturnal haunts. His footsteps echoed across the deserted roads, bouncing off buildings and reflecting back to him, distorted and warped. A few eyes watched him from the doorsteps and alleyways, as they always did, but your average mugger knew better than to mess with the Shadow Walker. Those who did had the disturbing tendency to meet sticky ends, wether directly by his hand or though convinent "accidents." The forces of Heaven and Hell watched him carefully, not for purely his own personality and power, which were interesting enough in themselves, but to his close attatchment to one with a vital role to play in the incoming Doomsday. The first Horseman had been unleashed: The three others would soon follow, though how soon "soon" dictated was not clear except to the All-Mighty himself.

Seth was not out to save the world or get in any fights: Right now, all he wanted was something to eat. Prefferably, enough for two, or he would go hungry once again. Looking to a commotion up the street, he saw Orin walking away, whistling to herself. Seth past her by without comment, eyes meeting hers once brieftly and then glancing away, seeing no one he knew. He did not recognize her in her current form, having last seen her when he soul was Reaped away after the battle with the Monad. Now she was just an oddly dressed soul, strangly cheery in the squalord gloom that was now New York, New York, at night.

Taldeer was cut off from everything she knew in a world of primative Mon'kae, she was well and truely alone, more so than a solater useualy would be. She had no purpose and no explination of how she had got here, worse still no one would miss her and in all likelyhood her troupe would asume she had been killed by chaos.

Sighing she began to head after Orin, stoping when she saw Seth "You seem to comand more respect than the other Mon'kae here, perhapse you can help me more than the lady who burns with the fires of Khane." she said to him, waving her hand in the direction Orin had headed to.

Seth was not the only one who stalked the streets of New York that night. Far from it. The stench of a dying world had started to bring up the dregs that Legion had risen. Demons were everywhere and no one knew how to stop them or when. Save for one group, the Mista.

Anyone who looked into Times Square would see what looked like a medieval battle being waged between a group of black, rotting creatures and strangers in long, concealing cloaks. The fight was one sided as the ground littered with demon dead showed. But there were also a smattering of cloaked bodies amongst the dead as the Mista were overwhelmed one by one. The Demons withdrew for a moment, allowing the half-vampires to catch their breath. They were exhausted. The Underworld had ceased to exist months ago and now they fought alone as a single band. No longer fighting to keep the peace but to save humanity.

Katie threw down her cloak and sighed. She had made sure her family had been rescued from a dying Ireland before joining her brethren in their flight to the United States, where the Demons were gathering around one of the biggest cities in the world in search of food. She and a mysterious Angel had saved all they could before the final sweep had eliminated almost the entire population of the UK. She gave a small sigh and leapt to the roofs that surrounded the plaza, along with her comrades. The Mista would have to concede the field today, but tomorrow, they would come out fighting.

---

Another being who wandered the streets around Seth was none other than Julia. She looked completely different to when the group had parted company in Japan. Her radiance had dimmed, reduced as she lost her powers and her energy, repeatedly fighting off Legion. She had saved who she could but her dirt covered robe and her exhausted, though still beautiful, face betrayed how hard she was having to work to stay alive.

Walking to the corner of the street where it joined Seth's road, she saw a man shivering on the pavement. She leant over him and looked at his face. He had the plague and was now in the final stages, where he would die a horrible death. Not if Julia could help it.

She leant over the man and gave him a soft kiss on his forehead,
"May Heaven always watch you in your hour of need," She whispered in his ear. Then watched as he glowed for a second, then vanished.

She exhaled deeply and watched as her aurora dropped another shade in colour. She now glanced up with tired eyes and saw Seth coming towards her. She gave a small nod of greeting.

"I knew our paths would cross again" She sighed.

"I knew our paths would cross again"
"Ahh, you," Seth almost spat. He was still entirely ungrateful to everyone who had "helped" him and his sister in their flight from the States. Now, low and behold, they were back again, in one of the most demon-infested cities in the world. "What news is there f-"
"You seem to comand more respect than the other Mon'kae here, perhapse you can help me more than the lady who burns with the fires of Khane."
Seth regarded the armored thing with a look of half bemusment, half exhasperation. "And who are you, one might ask?"

Seth may not of recognized Orin after her change in appearance, but she recognized him. Now, she watched from the shadows. When Julia appeared, she frowned.
Dear me... Who's going to turn up next? Steve? She suddenly felt a blow to the back of her skull. The darklings had been defeated.
"Damn it, I train them myself and they still fail miserably..." She sighed theatrically to herself. If you want a job done right...

Seth thought Julia looked more like she'd been though a war, but he declined to comment except on the first part of the question. "No one's stopping you." he sighed. Seth led them to a dipleted apartment building, long abandoned by it's residents for safer areas. It was conspicipusly demon-free, but that was because any demon that came within ten feet of the place was brutally slaughtered, bodies torn open and staked on poles outside the revolving door. Two imps and a minor demon shared this unforunate fate, speared though by two-by-fours hammered into the ground. Seth smiled as he walked past them. "A little decor," he muttered as they passed. Blood made small pools on the ground around the bodies, crimsion fluid that the flies wouldn't even touch.

Mr. Goodmen nodded towards a F.E.A.R. operative who then turned off the lights and put down the curtains on the window, the only light in the small broken room in downtown New York was the cigaret in Jacky Ripple's mouth. A glance from Mr. Goodmen changed that, and Jacky smashed his cigaret in the ash tray in protest. Jolly Joy and Michael James both took a seat by the projector, waiting for Mr. Goodmen to start his presentation. Jacky leaned against the wall in the back of the room. Mr. Goodmen walked across the room once before looking towards his team. He lifted his arm and pressed a button on the remote, the projector emitted a light and the picture of the F.E.A.R. logo was displayed on a screen set up in front of one of the broken walls.

"So lets get down to business," Mr. Goodmen pressed the remote again and a picture of Earth from space went up, "as most of you know we are on the planet Earth. Earth is a planet home to a common folk in this galaxy," he pressed the remote and a picture of two humans from both genders appeared with some info about humans on the side of the slide.

"This here is the dominate species on this planet. They are intelligent like most humans in the galaxy, but they are one of the few who have yet to go into deep space. They are a Type I civilization borderline Type II, which means they can use all of the resources on their planet as well as some from their sun. They have semi-advance technology and are highly emotional," Mr. Goodmen went onto the next slide which showed a picture of a man in a blue business suit with blood on his mouth and suit.

"As we all know this is Mr. Unclean. For some odd reason he has come to Earth. To be exact he is right here in the City of New York of New York State. We believe he has come here for her," Mr. Goodmen pressed a button and Alma as well as her mind slave Paxton went on the screen, here too, was some facts to the side.

"We all know them both. No introductions are needed," Michael grimaced remembering his last encounter with Paxton.

"Sir, Michael raised his voice slightly, "why are they here?" Mr. Goodmen nodded and pressed on the remote again.

"That brings us onto the next slide. Recently this planets has been going though hell. Epidemics and mythical creatures have been popping up a lot recently. We are not sure why, no one else knows either. However, as much as I want to help these humans out as well, our loyalty belongs to the Mu Cephains, no these humans. Our doggy friends are expecting us to capture Mr. Unclean if not Paxton or Alma," Jolly spoke up.

"Do the humans here know of our mission? Will we have support?"

"No, yes and no. The humans do not know of our mission. If any of them find out then we have orders to make said human 'disappear.' Now onto the support question. Since the humans do not know of our mission we will not receive any support from the Earth humans. However, there is a Prometheus Class Destroyer not too far from Earth hiding behind this planet's moon. On that ship are some soldiers who will join us on combat missions and we of course have support from our very own F.E.A.R. assault squads, Mr. Goodmen paused and gave a one over his whole team.

"I will not say this again, so listen up. The destroyer will only, I repeat, will only enter Earth's orbit once. When that happens, every Mu Cephain and F.E.A.R. member will be on a shuttle heading towards the ship to go home. Is that clear? No on gets left behind and don't expect the ship to come back our provide direct support on our mission either. It is our ride home, nothing more," Mr. Goodmen looked over his crew wondering how well they will do on this mission...

Paxton... Wake up... We have work to do... It's time to find some... Subjects... To work with us... Please... Wake up...

Paxton's eyes flashed open and he immediately got up from the cold street floor. His eyes scanned the alleyway around him, looking for movement. None. He began to brush off some dirt from his clothes and straightened his red jacket. He began to walk, Alma's voice guiding him perfectly in a city he never been to before. Having no idea what laid ahead of him, he could only hope that the voice in his head would leave him alone for just one minute

IC:
Seth led Julia and Orin inside, past a dusty, unlit lobby.
"This is how you've survived?"
"Yeah," Seth answered, "from Japan we had to run once again, and we came here, to our home city. Right as we got here the plauge and demons started, and we barricaded ourselves here after the regular residents left. It was rough going the first few nights, but we got by."
Up several flights of stairs ("The elevators don't work") said Seth by way of explination, and down a hall to a door. This one looked just like any other aside from two things: The tracks going to and from in the heavy dust on the floor, and the light spilling from beneth the crack between the door and the floor. Opening the door (a locked one wouldn't stop a demon) Seth entered into an apartment that was only slightly better lit than the lobby below. A naked bulb hung by a chain in a tiny kitchen, and beyond that a gloomy living room. "I'm home!" Seth called, and Nadoka stepped out of the bedroom connected to the living room. Everyone's eyes would be drawn by the angel wings she kept folded on her back, which, when fully spread, would be wider than the room, hence keeping them closed. She seemed cleaner and more confident, self-assured, than last time any had seen her.

"You've brought friends," she said softly, smiling at Julia. Seth nodded. "Nadoka, this," he stepped to the left so she could see Orin, "is Orin. Apparently she died and was reincarnated as...this."

Julia gave a shrug,
"Not good, the Legion and Hell are winning but they're not fighting as one. They're fighting each other as much as they are fighting us. The Mista are doing what they can but it's not working. They're numbers are falling and Doomsday is getting closer"

"So where are we going?"Jacky asked, placing his head on the window of a SUV. While their doggy comrades preferred the electric car over the gas guzzler the humans preferred the extra armor on the car. Joy, who is driving, turned towards Jacky.

"Don't you listen," she turned her eyes to the road again. Jacky just grunted at her response.

"All I heard was something about Mr. Unclean and a tracking device," Jacky was referring to Mr. Goodmen's info on how a F.E.A.R. operative got a tracking device in Mr. Unclean's mouth before the poor soldier's neck was bitten off...

"Good and now we have tracked him to an apartment down this street," she turned the SUV down a road, "lock and load guys. Ten more minutes till hammer time," four F.E.A.R. operatives began to make final preparations for the upcoming assault. Two SUVs behind the one Jacky and Jolly were in held similar scenes.

Upon reaching their destinations the three SUVs came to a stop by the sidewalk, and their contents were emptied. The operatives stood out greatly in their battle dress and armor, but when you deal with a highly intelligent and powerful race of aliens you don't come empty handed. Michael walked up to Jolly and Jacky.

"Me and my squad are going to assault the building from the rear," he turned towards Jacky, "I want you to take your team and climb the fire escapes on that building." Michael pointed to the building next to the apartment building.

"Once your on that building's roof jump across onto the target building and assult from up to down, clear?" Michael eyed Jacky.

"Yup, but one question... Who had an heart attack and put you in charge?" Jacky grinned.

"Your momma," Michael turned towards Jolly not hearing the curse coming from Jacky's mouth.

"I want you to take two escorts and find a place to cover us with your rifle. Once your in position start feeding us intel on anything and everything you see in your scope," Jolly responded.

"I don't need the escort. These guys could be helping yo-"

"We have plenty of guys to kick ass with, but you only have a rifle. If you get in trouble then your dead and I can't have that," Jolly was about to protest, but Michael began to walk away to speak with his squad. After several minutes Jacky and his team began to head towards the fire escape to begin phase one of the assault plan. Upon reaching it Jacky grabbed for the latter, but it wouldn't budge.

"Damn," Michael heard this though Jacky's radio.

"Lead, point team. What is wrong now?" Jacky clicked his radio which was resting on his shoulder.

"Point team, lead. The latter won't work. The point team is going up the stairs in the building. Over," Jacky signaled to his men and they began to enter the building.

"Just be careful, over..."

Brain Jar no longer needed to cloak. There were no governmental bodies concerned with shooting her down. She simply hovered now, tethered to the blimp spire on what was left of the Empire State building.

At the very heart of the little ship--though it was much bigger on the inside than it was on the outside--was a temple. There, the Metal Man sat with a group of acolytes, a single, lit candle standing before them all at the center of the room. They had been praying for three days, in shifts. As they did, the Metal Man had felt the divine energies inside of him--inside of them all--growing.

Perhaps God was more complex of mind than so many of his followers thought--and more humble. Perhaps He was willing to admit that his plans had not quite been as good a stead as he had admitted. Then again, perhaps He was intent on merely preserving the seed of mankind even after his home had been rendered uninhabitable. Regardless, Brain Jar was hallowed ground, and, between this and the fact that the Metal Man and Pete, the AI that made Brain Jar a sentient being, defended it vigorously had made it a refuge from the death that stalked the earth.

He looked like a man now. It was necessary. It was the most reasonable way to communicate with other men, who too easily grew to distrust things that did not look like themselves.

"Boss?" It was Pete's voice, coming through the intercom, that reverberated gently through the room.

The Metal Man blinked. It was the first time he had moved in over an hour. "Yes," he replied.

"I'm getting motion readings from an apartment not far away. It looks like a group of demons has broken through the Mysta defenses. They're converging on a single location with about twenty life signs of varying types."

"I understand," the cyborg said. "We'll have to intervene." He stood up slowly, his white shirt, dinner jacket and pants with suspenders clinging to what appeared to be a particularly obese body. A green-stoned ring, his only jewlry, adorned his left hand--this was a signet that allowed those who knew the Metal Man to recognize him no matter what "suit" he was wearing at the time--they all had the same green-stoned ring on one of their fingers. "There won't be time for me to change. Gentlemen, please arm yourselves as you see fit and join me when ready. Pete, transfer me, please."

In a moment, he appeared in the lobby of a fairly large building. Looking around him, he was surprised to find a face that he recognized.

"Seth," he said. "Who's your friend?"

The Mista had been driven from near the apartment for now, although they weren't going to go that quietly. The Demons were slowly wrestling control of the world from the peace keepers and nothing they did could stem that flood.

But for now they stood and watched the ground from the ruined rooftops of New York. Most of the Mista were now in this city. There was little point in defending the rest of it. They're greatest victory? The mysterious evacuation of the entire Island of Ireland. All 3 million of them had mysteriously disappeared and only one Mista knew why.

Katie had been there when the Angel known as Julia had struggled to the top of the Mourne Mountains and begged for divine intervention, strangely they were rescued although the Angel was nearly killed as a result.

Now she could see another Demon (OOC: Orin) struggling in the streets and she didn't hesitate. In a heartbeat, she and four other Mista were on the ground and surrounding the wounded Demon, they all had their weapons out and they were ready for anything.

"The Battle of Ireland. 6,000 Mista against over a million demons and three million dying civilians in the middle. They did what they could but there were nothing that could stop the Demons. One of the Mista begged me to save their people and I agreed," She sighed and leant back against the wall, "I went to the highest point of Ireland and begged for intervention, but no one listened. It seems Heaven was busy"
She coughed and her aurora dipped slightly in intensity,
"So I did it myself. I closed my eyes, focused all my energy and managed to send them all to heaven, well, most of them" She looked sad,
"I was in a coma for three months after that and when I woke up, I was being hailed across the world as the 'Second Messiah' So I kept helping people, using more and more of my energy to save as many people as possible until I grew so weak I could barely stand, like when your Brother found me"

It's too premature, it wasn't supposed to happen so soon, and none of it's going the way it's supposed to. It's all wrong, and nobody seems to be doing anything to stop it," she said sadly. "The Mista can do what they can, but ultimitly they're still mortal, and subject to the laws of Heaven and Hell. We need to go to the top, find out exactly what happened and what's being done about it." In just that speech she had reversed her own opinion. Something just rose out of the darkness behind him. Before most of them could move, it had formed a hideous, black creature with snarling fangs.

The Metal Man merely pivoted. A joint on his right hand that no human has pivoted, too. The skin just below his knuckles stretched and then cut free as a small blade emerged. Jacky Ripple led his squad up the building's stairs and to the roof. He signaled his soldiers to take cover which they did quickly and quietly. With his squad covering every angle he wondered why it was so quiet, but shook it off. A single wind blew by them and then they moved. Jumping onto the other roof Jacky took this time to click his radio twice, the signal to inform the others that his squad was ready to assault. A few seconds later he received two similar clicks telling him to assault. With a motion with the hand a F.E.A.R. operative opened the roof door and lead the squad down some stairs. According to the intel from Joy Mr. Unclean was suppose to be on the 3rd floor in one of the floor's many rooms.

Upon reaching the suppose door Mr. Unclean was in the squad filed on each side of the doorway. A F.E.A.R. operative reached for the door and looked up to his squad leader.
Ripple nodded and they moved.

The squad quickly searched the room, yelling clear as they found nothing. When every single conrner was deemed safe Jacky finally let go of a bearth he was holding in for some time. He clicked on his radio.

"Point squad, lead. Fourth floor is clean. He isn't here," one of the soldiers picked something up from behind a chair covered in fresh blood and handed it to Jacky, "he found the tracking device and left it here as a parting gift." He didn't notice the lack of a response.

Jacky took the device from the soldier and the squad began to head down the stairs making sure to check each floor for Mr. Unclean, but the chance of finding him were becoming more slim by the floor. Then a shadow appeared.

"Oh shi-" one of the F.E.A.R. operatives was thrown across the 2nd floor hall hitting the floor hard and sliding into a wall. Two shadows formed into the form of bug like creatures. Each one had a pair of four legs on the sides of their bodies and a missive pincer in front of their mouth which had hundreds of pointed teeth on it. Jacky quickly aimed his G1A2 submachine at the monster and fired off a burst at it's head. Two of the bullets simply bruised the monster's thick skin while the last one wounded the creature. The other one jumped to attack, but was quickly gunned down by a pair of F.E.A.R. operatives armed with G4A1 rifles, they moved to finish off the other one. Jacky quickly radioed in to lead.

"We're under attack! Two crawlers from the sadows," now there was a series of burst fire all around him and the soldier thrown down the hall formed up with the squad again, limping, "there are a bunch more though. We need help, over." No reply...

Damnit! Guys were getting out the building! Move it," Jacky opened the stairwell door and lead the way down while the only operative armed with a G5A2 rifle covered their retreat. Upon reaching the lobby the F.E.A.R. operatives quickly found cover and began to shoot at any bug coming after them in the stairs. Completely ignorant to the others behind them...

Gun fire could also be heard from outside if one was to listen carefully and the air seemed to be thicker, colder then before.

Seth waved off the Metal Man's thanks. "Nadoka's doing fine, she's grown gigantic wings and is recovering nicely. I can't say the same for Julia, sadly. It seems the war over the earth is sapping her strength, and the Mista are rapidly falling in numbers all over the globe. They're both upstairs-"
He was interrupted by the presence of a number of large, insectisoid demons and what seemed to be soldiers firing on them.

He zipped into the air, born on magnetic levitators contained within his cyborg body. Quickly, he zipped to a point slightly behind Taldeer, and wiped out two insectoids with one shot, slicing both rather messily in two and leaving a nasty gash on the wall behind them.

Then, so fast that it was only a blur, he moved to the far end of the lobby, dealing death to every insectoid that dared show itself in the room.

When he was done, there were a lot of special forces types looking at him, and a lot of little, red dots showing on various parts of his torso.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he said, "I am the Metal Man. I will not attack you. If you will not attack me, then there can be peace between us. What say you?"

As he spoke, a young man, Caucasian and blond, thin but muscular, wearing an extremely light set of armor, appeared below him, holding a sword at the ready. The sword glowed, spreading an aura from the stone at its hilt, a common-looking, brown stone, like a strange sort of smoke, that dissipated nearby.

"This is my friend Allowishus," the Metal Man said. "His sword is known as Angelfire. He stands with me."

Jacky Ripple's face as well as the face of the other F.E.A.R. operatives' went pale. They had never seen anything like this before, the bugs they fought before, but this was... New to say the least.

"Hi?" Was the only thing Jacky was able to say before a man wearing a blue suit walked in. Blood covered his entire body, especially his mouth.

"Now, what do we have here? Some men and women from F.E.A.R. Demons, an angle, and... Well, whatever the hell is also here," the man chuckled.

"I'm sorry for the bugs, but Alma can be a little bitchy sometimes and you know how women are! No matter how young, when they set their mind on something they become the most powerful force on the planet! Well, in her case at least," the man walked up to Metal Man.

"Hello odd one. My name be Mr. Unclean, what be yours?" He looked around, "it seems you were dragged into our affairs too it seems. Well on the behalf of myself and Mu Cephei, I am truly sorry," the F.E.A.R. squad began to surround Mr. Unclean. Freaky or not, but regardless of what they just witness thier target was finally here...

"Put your hands up, now!" Mr. Unclean gave a single glance towards the F.E.A.R. operatives before the entire squad fell to the floor, Jacky the only one left standing. Their beating hearts pulled out by some unknown force and their blood flying everywhere. Mr. Unclean licked his lips.

"As you can see the Mu Cepheians aren't exactly happy with me. Did you know they want to excute me! For what? All I did was destroy a planet! I mean, is playing with dark matter and anti-matter that bad?" Mr. Un Clean chuckled and Jacky collapsed onto the floor, trying to radio in the rest of the F.E.A.R. force. Mr. Unclean turned towards him.

"Don't waste your energy. Most, if not all of your comrades outside are dead," he turned back to the Metal Man, "human meat I wonderful. Don't you agree?"

Julia listened and sure enough, there was silence. She leant back against and wall and sighed. Then she gave a small start,
"Demons" She said glancing out one of the windows, "To the north, they are approaching"
She squinted for a moment, as if watching a film, then she relaxed,

"It would seem, Taldeer," the Metal Man said from his place above the fray, "that you may have a few things to unlearn in your stay here. I can help."

Then, he turned, rotated in the air, to face Mr. Unclean.

"They weren't all F.E.A.R.," he corrected. "One of them was my friend.

"I am the Metal Man, and I have my moods, too. I hate death, I hate strife and I absolutely can't stand irresponsible, arrogant murderers." He flew down, to a point only a few feet above Mr. Unclean. There was fire in his gaze now. The blades extending from his hands lengthened to their full six meters. "I like to deter them."

Something in the middle of the cyborg's chest glowed for a moment. Mr. Unclean found himself in the middle of a multi-thousand-volt cloud of electric charge. Normally, the Metal Man used this as a shielding device, but, like the shields of old, it could be used to attack as well as defend.

A squad of Mu Cephei soldiers are coming and they won't take too kindly to someone who is harming their target." His smile, which never left his face, grew wider.

"Remember," the Metal Man hissed, "never to presume solely based on context. I am a product of Species One technology--what you would call a borderline Type IV civilization. You've got nothing that I haven't seen before. That these humans are like flies to you serves only to show your lack of vision. If properly nurtured, they can easily grow to become a Type III or better. But, for that, they have to survive.

"I would not let the fly bite me. If it did, it would die without my intervention. I would drive it off beforehand, without harming it."

"Please indicate how I may keep these 'flies' from biting you, and I may, at my digression, attempt to do so--but, mark my words, I will not look favorably on attempts to usurp control of the planet or its resources.

"My friend was the one with the sword."

The Metal Man withdrew his blades and levitated to a point slightly over Allowishus. He extended his arm, and the blade, which had fallen a foot or so from the now dead defender, rose into his hand.

A bug demon writhed on the floor nearby--his earlier barrage must have left it living. He held the sword and completely straightened his arm, pointing the shaft of the blade directly at the creature. The brown stone in its hilt glowed red for a moment, and a reddish aura shot down the blade and into the creature. It incinerated instantly, easing its suffering. "This," the cyborg said, "is Angelfire. And it can bite you.

"And, as to the soldiers, thank you for your words of warning."

"Personally I have no problems with the humans. I only kill those who get in my way, otherwise my true enemy is Alma. Also, just to let you know. I hate bugs. "Softy too, huh? Well don't worry, I'm leaving so there won't be any problems. I have been staying here too long anyway," he turned around to face the large group of... Things.

He threw his hand in the air, moved it in front of his chest, bowed, and yelled, "I bid thy a farewell and a good evening!" He walked out of the building and faded into nothingness on the street.

Soon afterwards two F.E.A.R. operatives busted though the doors, pointing their G4A1 rifles at everyone. Jolly Joy soon followed carrying a blood covered Michael James, who seemed to be sleeping. Noticing Jacky, Jolly eased Michael on the floor and ran up to her fallen comrade to see if he was okay, ignorant of the others in the room. One of the operatives holding up his rifle spoke up.

"Good," the Metal Man said, "he's gone. Pete, fix 'em."

Each body in turn glowed for a moment. When this was done, the ripped-out hearts had been put back and restarted. Several were having troubles, but most would live.

"The human brain must be deprived of oxygen for two minutes before death ensues," the Metal Man said. "Mr. Unclean wasn't here that long."

"Allowishus?" the cyborg asked.

"He'll make it," Pete replied. "Like the rest of them, it'll take weeks for him to fully heal, but he'll make it."

"The others outside?"

"Sorry, boss. There wasn't enough left to fix."

The Metal Man sagged to the floor. He set Angelfire's point to the ground. For a moment, he looked like a terribly old man resting his weary head on a walking stick.

"Hello, Julia," he said. "Sorry to see you in such a worn state. I've got something for you, though. Perhaps it will help."

He reached into the side of his plain, white robe and pulled out a daggar with a brown stone in it. "This is Phantom," he said, "and it is a part of a vow I made some years ago, when last we saw each other."

Then, his voice, though it remained quiet, began to carry throughout the room.

"What happened here, gentlemen, is that this group of F.E.A.R. operatives ran into some...thing...with a very unusual way of rating the universe--much more technologically advanced than them. I've tried to set right what I could, but my abilities are far from infinite."

Allowishus, the only member of the group who was wearing white instead of black, coughed, rolled over and opened his eyes.

"Rest, friend," the Metal Man said.

"The sword!" Allowishus said between bloody coughs. "It must remain in battle!"

"Yes," the Metal Man replied. "Though you should heal as good as new, I must find a new bearer for Angelfire.

"When I had this blade smithed, incorporating one of the stones that came from the extinct body of the Monad, I decreed that it should remain in human hands. Its name is Angelfire, and it imbues its bearer with the elemental power of fire, among many others. Being anti-magical, I cannot wield it to the full extent of its powers. Orin had arrived at Staten Island, which was completely under demon control. Patrols of huge, armored behemoths (http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z107/Kain1235/mb_art_13.jpg) walked the cracked and melted streets, their huge feet leaving deep imprints in the ground. Smaller imps, nothing really more than floating eyes with limbs (http://www.ffcompendium.com/EspMon/ahriman10.jpg), darted around the skyline, observing everything happening in New York. Especially the movements of the Mista. Two of the tribe leaders, Zsholhosth (http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z107/Kain1235/DemonKnight.jpg) of the Fallen Templar and Kihorthurnac (http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z107/Kain1235/rakdos-demon-lord.jpg) of the Beastmen tribe, were there, arguing over battle tactics about the coming assault.
"Your idiotic hordes would be ripped to pieces! You need refinement in battle!"
"You idiot." Kihorthurnac spoke in a rasping Aramaic. "The Mista are so few in numbers even the Spheres could defeat them! My hordes would simply pour over and devour them!"
There was suddenly a flash of red, which then pulsed through brown, white, blue, purple light and then a void of light. It emanated from one of the portals (http://www.waiting4oblivion.com/images/screenshots/obx18B.jpg), which were supposed to be linked directly to Hell. A figure (http://www.rogueshollow.com/fearcast/images/art/ABADDON.jpg) stepped out, one hand outstretched but balled into a fist. It spoke in a dry, hoarse tounge, stopping for raspy breaths in the middle of sentences.
"My master wishes... to give y-you aid in your... endeavors." The hand opened and there appeared an old roman sword. In its hilt was a brown stone. "They were not wise to give... my masters soul to... mere demons.Traitors... at that." Kihorthurnac growled at this but Zsholhosth held an arm out in front of him. It barely reached his knees.
"This is part of the Monads soul?" He took the and crushed it. When he poured the remains into his other hand, everything was dust but the gem. It had no outwards sin of damage. He took his glove off to examine it, and yelled as the gem sank into his hand. "What the hell is this!?" The figure answered, walking back into the gate.
"It is a blessing. Use it wisely." And with that he was gone.

About an hour afterwards, the two demon princes had stopped arguing.
"Send another battlegroup of your men in, Brother. I must remain behind to contemplate this."
And about 10 minutes later, 100 small demons poured into New York. (http://dougbot.com/forum/meatHoleDemon.jpg)

Orin watched the demons pour into the city then strolled over to Zsholhosth. "Tough day?" He eyed her with anger.
"If you wish to put it so stupidly, yes. Tough day." He looked back at his hand.
"You know, there are more of those gems. And I have a good idea who would have them."

It was the trademark weapon of the Roman Gladiators (in fact, they were named after it, not the other way 'round), and the weapon that Spartagus used to hand the Roman Legion its lungs on several occasions before his rebellion ultimately succumbed to the multitude of forces arrayed against him.

"Get 'em down here as soon as possible. And anything that you can do to reinvigorate an Angel..."

"Give me a break, boss! Do you think that Heaven has an entry in the database?"

"Make one."

"Lot of good that'll do us now..."

"Well, do the best you can."

The Metal Man turned from the gun-toting F.E.A.R. operative with a polite "excuse me" and clasped Julia's hand. As he did, he could feel the energy that he had built up--some of it, anyway--flowing from him into her.

"We've really got to stop meeting like this," he said.

They were interrupted by the arrival of several soldiers in the lobby. Nadoka stepped back slightly on the staircase, out of sight unless one was looking directly up it.
"What the hell happened here? Someone answer me, now!"
"Whoa, buddy," Seth raised his hands defensively, sword absent, "calm down. If you keep pointing that thing everywhere, you'll kill somebody. You know a dude named Mr. Unclean?"

"Yeah! What do you know about him? Was he here?" the soldiers kept their weapons aimed at the strangers and Jolly lifted Jacky up to his feet as he woke up. He looked around, his face fell with despair.

"Who did this to my squad?! I want an answer now!"

Dastardly Stench;13591006']"Good," the Metal Man said, "he's gone.

Is there anyone here who knows how to handle a broadsword?"

-------------------

OOC: Jacky, perhaps?

OOC: Why not, but I don't think he just going to say okay in this situation. I mean he did see the hearts of his squad get pulled out from their bodies and now there being put back in... Thats a lot to take in in a short period of time. Lets give Jacky a little time to breath. lol

The operatives from F.E.A.R. watched in pure amazement as a few of their, once, dead comrades coughed and begin to raise up. Most of the ones who would survive sat up, breathing heavily. After Jacky said he was alright, Jolly began to work on getting the survivors near the exit. Besides her escort she was the only uninjured person in the failed operation. Luckily she received word on her radio that help was coming. Jacky, however, walked up to a body of a F.E.A.R. operative, one of three who did not make it. He just stood there, angry and upset that he didn't get a chance to kill the one who did this. All he wanted to do right now was to find Mr. Unclean and rip his heart out, if he had one.

In an instant he was right next to him, a black swrd to his thorght "Be careful what you say, some day you'll find my knife stuck fast in your chest if you are not careful." and he was gone thrugh another portal, apering behind the sniper team that the mu chipens had posted.
"Evning gentlemen" he said calmy, a black sword apering, hovering at the back of thier neck.

Behind the deamon prince a 6000 ton anvil smashed into the ground a centimeter away from hiting him.

OOC: The sniper and her escort are in the lobby with the others. If you want I can rp you showing up in the lobby. What do you think?

Soon outside the building there came a great deafening roar as three dropships, one heavy and two light, landed. Six Heavy Infantrymen jumped off one of the lights, four Elite Heavy Infantrymen jumped off the other light and an Armored Infantrymen hoped off of the heavy. They walked towards the bodies of the platoon of dead F.E.A.R. operatives on the streets. All of them, besides the computer controlled mecha, grew angry at their failure to protect their smaller, weaker human counterparts. One of the Elite Heavy Infantrymen turned to the others.

"Spread out and find out who did this!" The soldier's voice spoke in Mu Cepheian in a powerful tone that would make a grizzly turn and run with it's tail between it's legs. Soon the soldiers and mecha entered the dreaded apartment building, following a trail of blood and bodies. Upon entering they brought their weapons to bare, noticing what appeared to be their comrades in danger.

"F.E.A.R. operatives, help has a arrive! Get over here so we can get you out of here," the same Elite Infantrymen yelled out to the operatives, those who could, walked behind the Mu Cepheians and others crawled. One of the Heavy Infantrymen turned to Jacky.

"What happened here," Jacky kepted walking till he was outside all the while answering the Mu Cepheian's question.

"Mr. Unclean," thats all the soldier needed to know. The leader turned to the others in the room.

"Identify yourselves and your purpose here or we will open fire!" The Armored Infantrymen let loose a roar as to prove this point. All the while the F.E.A.R. operatives boarded the dropships to receive medical attention and to rest. Jolly Joy however stayed behind, she too wanted to know what happened here.

The Metal Man sniffed the air three times, then a look of disgust came over his face.

"Gentlemen," he said to the Mu Cephei agents, "this is Carnage. From what I hear, he's the King of Hell these days. Right up there with your Mr. Unclean on the heavy hitter list--and, unlike the latter, he's not a juvenile delinquent back where he comes from."

The Heavy Infantrymen began to back away slowly. Not out of fear, but it seemed their new found enemy is stronger in closer quarters from appearance. The Weapons of the soldiers and the mecha did in fact glow, but unlike the materials found on human planets Mu Cepheian materials took a lot more then heat to melt. Their weapons never strayed away from the demon, but they did not fire. Their training demanded that they be attacked by force, not by threats their opponent threw at them.

"Why did we run again?"
Seth didn't even look at Nadoka. "Did you see who decided to show up?"
Nadoka nodded. "Carnage."
"Yup. Nice little reunion going on down there, and you put that many people with big guns and supernatural powers in one place, there's going to be trouble. I'll be surprised if this entire city block isn't utterly destroyed in an hour. Speaking of which," a demon landed in front of him, which Seth cut apart, "it appears to be raining hellspawn. So, you see why we're leaving? It always gets nasty when someone other than the host starts to hand out party favors."
They were at the edge now, and Seth looked at Nadoka. She sighed in exasperation and rolled her eyes. "Alright, alright. Geez, it's like having a car. Once you've got it, everyone wants to take rides with you."
With a sound like a parachute unfolding her wings, with a span of over twenty feet, spread out far beyond her arms, either tip spreading well over the opposite sides of the building. Nadoka hugged Seth close and leaped off into space. Holding him to her with the strength that came with her newfound powers, Nadoka flapped several times before being able to glide over the party below. As most of them looked up Seth waved with a grin on his face. "Bogies on our six! Look sharp!"

"They're hostile! Wipe 'em!"

And the firefight was on. The main body of the infantry turned and began shooting the demons. The leader, like the Metal Man, remained in place.

"It's going to take a lot more then mere warmth to defeat us," the leader looked towards Carnage and The Metal Man, "how do you know of Mr. Unclean? Are you working with him or did you just see him? Either way I ask that you inform us of his position right away. Our fight is not with you, but with someone else."

"He was just here. He killed people. I resurrected some of them, as my meager abilities allowed, after he left. The bulk of these were your allies. He went that way." The cyborg pointed to the door. "May I ask your name before we part company?"

The Metal Man looked up just in time to see Nadoka carrying Seth away on huge, powerful wings. Some of them are beyond Carnage's influence. He was sad to see that Seth had an obscene gesture for him in passing, but he had never expected much more. The young man had never seen the cyborg's milder side--and more was the shame in that.

Helping humanity hold on was a damn depressing business these days. Lately, even the Metal Man was beginning to wonder why he didn't cut and run--try to find a new home for those who were with him in Brain Jar.

Then, he looked at Julia, and he remembered why. He was a coward. He lacked the form of courage that it would take to leave sensitive sentient beings to suffer. He was much better at subduing their common foes--as was shown when a demon tried to jump down through the ceiling. It was too high for that. The Metal Man raised Angelfire and simply pointed it at the ignorant thing. In a moment, it was engulfed in a strange sort of fire, and vanished in a puff of smoke.

Excusing himself from the Mu Cephians, he strode meekly over to Julia.

"Once, you showed me mercy," he said. "Please let me return the favor. When you are no longer needed here, let me take you aboard Brain Jar and succor your surfeit."

"That's very sweet," She said in her soft voice, broken with the strain of constant coughing, "I would like that, although you owe me no favour"

That was true as far as she was concerned, the Metal Man had shown her that Humanity was worth saving, to question the wisdom in destroying such a noble and beautiful race. That was why she wasted on the surface while her brothers and sisters looked upon her struggles from the safety of Heaven. But she would continue, for the sake of Humanity, she had to continue until the end, even if it meant her destruction.

A battle had broken out just outside the lobby doors. While Demons poured in to try and capture Angelfire, outside, even more were trying to force their way inside the building. Their attempts were failing miserably as a thin line of Mysta fought heroically to hold them back long enough for those inside to escape.
Katie was amongst those who fought for their lives. The Demons were all around her, she could barely move because of their crushing impact on her and her brethren, but she was using all her advantages, all her strengths, all her experience and the ground was littered with dead Demons. Her sword was dripping with their blood as she hacked down one after the other in quick succession. Some Mysta were fighting with two swords, taken from fallen comrades and these were spinning blades of death.
Kate cut down eight Demons in a single, 360 degree strong of her blade, feeling the satisfactory jolt as the blade passed through bone, skin and muscle. She looked around and saw that other Demons were coming in to join the fray, more than they could repel. Even though more Mysta were piling in from all directions.

Joy ran to the other side of the lobby where there seemed to be no entry point, bent down on one nee, took out her rifle and began to accurately fire her weapon.

The mecha simply walked into the middle of the room and just kept firing it's weapon towards the front doors while the Mu Cephei soldiers went back-to-back covering every direction with a gun. One of the soldiers ran over to Joy to protect her though, the Mu Cepheians would not allow another one of their human comrades die today. Over head the roars of engines echoed as the dropships took a orbit over the building. The leader's radio clicked on.

"Ground team, this Dropsys. We have an orbit over your location. We are light, I repeat, light. We can do maybe one, two runs at the most on the demons. Also, be advised that we need to pick you up in the next ten minutes or our fuel won't get us back to the ship." The leader clicked his radio twice and kept firing.

Carnage threw several weapons, from what seemed out of no where, at the demons and jumped into the large group to fight. When the leader's face met Carnage the leader nodded his head and continued to fight as well.

And then, the Metal Man struck.

One of his mystic blades was formidable--but, right then, he held two. Hurricane extended from his left hand, to complement Angelfire in his right.

He whirled, and a spiral of blue aura spat out of the blade, and wound its way not only through the building but outside of it, going straight through the walls like a tidal wave. Some of the beings it encountered it moved through as if it wasn't even there, but the demons that it touched were not so lucky. Instantly, every one of them was frozen solid. Those that were in the air shattered when they hit the ground. Some fell over and cracked into tiny pieces. Those that survived were easy pickings for anyone else around them--and the cyborg used his second blade to incinerate every one that he could detect.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I do! I'm not a child anymore, and we owe the Metal Man and Julia our lives!"
"What about the others? Don't you think those soldiers are a bit trigger-happy? How do you know they won't shoot us on sight?"
"As if it matters? Bullets don't affect us, remember?"
"But they're not even human!"
"We're not human you idiot!"
"Look, we're already too deeply involved, there's no reason for it, so just drop it."
"I might drop you."
"You wouldn't dare."
"It's not like it would hurt you, and if we're lucky it might pound some compassion into that thick skull of yours."
"Go back! Are you insane?!"
"I'm the one flying, okay? You have no say in the matter!"
There was silence for a moment.
"Get ready!" Nadoka shouted.
"For what?" Seth screamed.
She released him.

Seth fell with a half battle cry, half scream of frustration on top of a demon, which suddenly found itself a broken pile of flesh in a three foot crater. Seth climbed out, muttering to himself, and lit into the nearest horde of demons. Nadoka, up above, clasped her hands together and pulled them apart with a sizzling noise, revealing a ball of pure white, crackling energy hovering a few inches above her left hand. With a wind-up like a baseball pitcher she threw it, and the sphere rotated once before smashing into the lobby, annihilating demons in a blast of holy fire but strangely leaving the Mu Cephei soldiers inside untouched.

Outside the Building, the relentless war stopped for only a moment as the white ball blew through the lobby. Then, as soon as it had stopped, the Mista and Demons closed ranks again and the mass sprawl that was the battle continued on. Demon after demon fell to the floor but now the carpet of dead was being joined by Mista, overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of Demons pushing in from all sides. Katie fought on, blocking, stabbing, swiping, parrying and cutting away.

Inside the lobby, Julia watched as Demons flooded in, then were wiped away. She looked up at the approaching Angel and smiled,
"I thought you wouldn't run so quickly" She said to no one, but knew that Nadoka could hear her.

The ice that had formed on Carnage instantly melted under a blast of hellfire "Now that wasn't nice." he said, grabing the nearest deamon and riping it apart casualy, his swords still miraculusly slicing at another hord of deamons.

Then Nadoka's attack hit.
"OH FOR THE LOVE OF.." he yelled, quickly erecting a wall of pure black energy that, whilst able to absorb most of the attack couldn't stop it all.

When the attack finished Carnage was on fire, his swords had vanished, as had the deamons he had sumoned to help the Mista, turning to TMM he said "Now noramly It wouldn't bother me to be on fire, but since this is angel fire I think im obiged to say OWIE!!!"

Orin looked at him. "What are you planning?"
Zshol laughed. "This." He took off his glove and slammed his hand into the ground. Instantly, the ground shook tremendously. All around New York, the ground shook. Suddenly, huge curved ridges of solid rock shot out and formed a dome around the city. No one was getting in or out.
"Nice touch. Thats the extent of the Monad's powers then?"

"I thought you wouldn't run so quickly"
"What, me? Run?" Nadoka landed beside her, observing the tide of demons coming in to be slaughtered. The Mista were being crushed under the sheer weight of the assembled hellspawn, despite their incredible fighting abilities. Nadoka stepped forward into the horde, her mere touch on any demon sending the creature flying in a spinning ball of pure white fire. Others incinerated before her, blackened corpses falling onto their dead comrades.
Outside...
Seth saw Carnage light on fire and he grinned as he cut down another demon. Approaching the Prince of Darkness, he spun his sword around and around in one hand, walking cat-like over the rubble and bodies. "So, back again. Don't you ever get tired of getting your ass kicked?"

The Mista, seeing the devastation the Angel was inflicting began to rally around her. They fought harder and harder to defend the building but now the flood of demons were starting to rattle windows and doors of the building

Julia watched with amusement,
"I always thought you were better than that. Nice to see you think we are worth saving" She sighed.

"Cant a friend stop bye every now and then? Anyway this time im not hear for you, after all its too late to stop doomsday anyway. I came to see Juliea if you must know." Carnage replyed, grabing a particulaly grusome deamon around the neck to see the angel fire move on to it.

"Thats better" he said, repairing the damage done as fast as he could and slicing up deamons with what apeared to be huge tallons.

"You all?" Nadoka waved a hand, backhanding a demon and causing his head to blow off, "of course. I'm not sure about the rest of the human race, though. Some, yes, others, no." Now that the demons were at least being held somewhat at bay Nadoka decided to actually fight, rather then just walk though them. A golden spear appeared in her right hand, and she used it like a staff to cut a swath though the rest of the demons before arriving at the doors, where she then threw it at the stairs to explode in a sunburst of holy cleansing light and fire.
Outside...
Seth stared. "You're here to see Julia? What in hell for?"

"Glorius warfare!!!" yelled carnage delightidly, is black swords extending with every swipe. Soon he was cutting swaths thrugh the enimy.

Out side the lobby, around the mista, a mass of skeletons began to rise, hacking away at the deamons with what ever they could get thier hands on, on thier fore heads were three numer 6's aranged in a circle.

The Mu Cepheians soldiers, focused on their fighting, ignored the others, but Jolly was a different story. Her rifle long ago dropped to the floor as she stared at those fighting. Her brain incapable of understanding the information coming at her as the others fought.

Dastardly Stench;13604461']And then, the Metal Man struck.

He looked at Carnage. "Sorry to spoil your fun," he said, "but I've got other business to tend to."

"Jolly," he said, "I hope you get your troops home safe."

Jolly did not answer as she stood up from the ground, shaky slightly. Her mind began to tell her that this was nothing, but a dream. Natural defense mechanisms kicked in, doing everything to keep Jolly sane from the sights before her. The small portion of her which could still think, wondered if the things the Mu Cepheians told her about god not being real... Were false.

"I said no!"
"Why the hell not? They've both risked their lives for us before!"
"And they're quite happily doing so again! We finally have a chance to get away, and you want to go back?!"
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I do! I'm not a child anymore, and we owe the Metal Man and Julia our lives!"

With a wind-up like a baseball pitcher she threw it, and the sphere rotated once before smashing into the lobby, annihilating demons in a blast of holy fire but strangely leaving the Mu Cephei soldiers inside untouched.

The soldiers however did notice the incoming attack and hit the floor. Hoping that the attack would just keep moving above them, but they were still hit. They braced themselves for death, but nothing happened. It took several minutes for their brains to begin function again. After realizing where they were they got up. No longer fearing death, but things they could not think of. They grabbed Jolly and made their way upstairs to meet the dropships on the roof.

"They've failed. I knew your idiotic hordes would. We'll have to send a more refined charge. Well, time to get to work."

The Mu Cepheians and Jolly made it safely to the LZ. The captain radioed in the heavy and the massive black craft landed, nearly throwing them off. Jolly got on first, the soldiers followed and the mecha went last. Once again covering their retreat. The dropship took off. The wind blew though Jolly's hair as her brain began to work again. Yet, the events she just went though were beginning to disappear from memory. Her brain trying to remove the things that were causing some blood to drip down from her nose... One of the soldiers, a medic, did a check-up on her. Then the dome appeared.

"Shit! Break! Break! Break!" the pilot yelled into his helmet's radio. The two light dropships broke into different directions, barely touching the dome's wall. The pilot moved his own dropship clearly away from the dome and radioed the others to make sure they were okay. When they reentered formation they wondered how they were going to get out now...

"Any suggestions?" The pilot asked. Jolly did not speak, but she didn't have to.

"Gun the fooking run the place we were just at. If we can clear the place of demons then we have a good chance of landing back there and getting help," the captain spoke.

"I thought you guys had some buddies down their? I saw a few guys helping you down there," the pilot replied, not wanting to go back.

"Trust me, it's like something supernatural is protecting our friends. They will not be harmed," the pilot sighed.

"Fine," the pilot radioed his orders and the two light dropships broke formation. They entered their own formation and made a bee line for the apartment, when in range they fired off a pair of missiles each. The four missiles moved quickly, locked on target the pilots could only hope that the missiles would kill the monsters. Not a single one of them, besides the humans still on board and even then they didn't really care either, about the collateral damage the missiles would cause.

Turning to the Metal Man, Carnage said, "Now, normally, it wouldn't bother me to be on fire, but, since this is Angelfire, I think I'm obiged to say 'OWIE!!!'"

"And I supposed," the Metal Man retorted with a wry grin, "that I'm obliged to say 'oopsie' back."

Above him, explosions rained down. The Mu Cephians must have encountered some resistance.

"Boss, we've got trouble," came Pete's voice.

"What kind, Pete?" the Metal Man replied.

"The earth has formed a giant dome around the whole city!"

"Can you blast through?"

"It would take me days--and there's no telling what the effects of the cave-in would be."

"Sounds like our friends in the underworld have lost their battle."

"Carnage! As a token of apology, I'd like to point out that I believe one of your challengers has acquired the Monad's earth power. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got business to tend to."

The Metal Man levitated outside of the building, to where the Mista had gathered. Finding one who seemed to be in charge, he handed Hurricane to him. A brief explanation of its powers, and the Metal Man was once again on the ground.

"Alright, Pete, send down Whirlwind."

In a moment, the Samurai Sword appeared on the ground in front of the cyborg. He picked the blade up in his left hand, hefted it, and swung it first up over his head, then down to point straight ahead of him.

The stone glowed white for a moment.

A tempest arose, tearing things out of the ground, sucking up demons and ramming the whole mess into itself. Those inside of its eye--including all the Mista and the people in the building--were untouched by its affects. The Metal Man pulled three Mista out of its clutches.

Two of the enchanted blades now pointed at the newest Prince of Darkness.

"It would seem, Carnage, that, if you crave a blade such as these, your time would be more productively spent relieving the one who sent the demon hoarde of the one that he has acquired--if he hasn't destroyed the blade. That is why I implied the suggestion in the first place. It would be a shame if he did destroy it, though--the blades enhance the power of the stones within them."

OOC:

The Mista don't have Whirlwind, they have Hurricane--in fact, it is none other than Zshol who is holding the blade. TMM has Whirlwind (and, temporarily, Angelfire--he's still trying to give it away).

Carnage had better be careful. Hurricane holds the elemental power of water. It can shield Zshol from his black fire, among other things.

Carnage is near TMM and Seth. TMM gave Zshol Hurricane--they were standing next to each other. Seth joined them. They were all outside the building. Then, Carnage went up to Zshol and tried to take away his blade--Hurricane. TMM was still standing right there by them. Then, Zshol "melted into the ground." There's no post that says that Carnage took off after Zshol. The next post after Zshol melted was Seth putting his blade to Carnage's throat--which he was able to do. There's nothing to stop Carnage from melting into the ground just like Zshol did and following Zshol, but he hasn't done that yet.
