Communism Outlawed in FRFS.

The Fanboyists

April 2nd, 2008:
Bronze Square, Inneville

Following the capture of infamous Communist revolutionary Stanley Neniven, and the subsequent decision to place him in a maximum security prison, Generalissimo Grimmeberger has taken the opportunity to live up to one of the central tenents of his ideology: anti-communism.

So it surprised no one when, this morning, he stood up in front of an assembled crowd in Bronze Square and publicly denounced communism and socialism. But no one expected him to take it as far as he did, at least, not yet.

His speech is as follows:

"My fellow Fanboyists, I am pleased to announce that the RBPA will no longer threaten our peaceful way of life!" *Applause*

"Four days ago the communist scum that has had us living in fear was captured by the brave soldiers of the Blue Army!" *Applause*

"The RBPA was crushed in a series of offensives by the brave soldiers, who have demonstrated the strong commitment and moral fiber of this great nation, and by militia's formed by none other than you fine people. They will not threaten our families, lives, and homes again!" *Cheers and Applause*

"However, the threat to the values and principles that guide this great nation have not been eliminated. They still hover menacingly on the side, in a form many of us are also familiar with: none other than the Communist Party!"

"We are not truly safe until the Red Menace is completely destroyed and removed from the world. And I am happy to be striking the first blow in a larger war against the evils of Bolshevism and the Red Terror! And that is why, as of tonight at midnight, the Communist Party is hereby DISBANDED and BANNED FROM REFORMING! FURTHERMORE, ANYONE WHO IS CURRENTLY A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY HAS ONE WEEK TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY OR FACE IMPRISONMENT OR DEATH!" *Raucous cheering and applause*

*End Speech*

As you can see, Communism has been outlawed in the FRFS, Communists being condemned to exile, or imprisonment or death after the week-long grace period.

OOC: By the way, people, this thread is open. I forgot to note that in the title. Sorry.

Four days later:
Tredegar, Ohio Province, FRFS

12,000 former members of the Communist Party had taken to the streets in protest of Grimmeberger's declaration. State Special Police forces, also known as the Grey Shirts, were keeping a discreet watch on the demonstration, with the help of the paramilitary militia Grey Coats. Things were going fairly peacefully, and there was no reason to arrest them; there were three days of the grace period to get out of the country still remaining. Afterwards, if they made their pro-communist veiws heard, they would be liable to arrest, or, if they complained too loudly or violently, execution.

Walter Dreyfous, the local SSP Commander was watching patiently, ready to act if the protest turned violent. 400 SSP Enforcers were watching, and 800 Grey Coats stood at guard. The need to act became apparent rather quickly.

The protesters began trying to force entry into the Governor-General's office, and the Grey Coats raised their weapons, keeping the safety catches on, but making the threat quite clear, even if their weapons were loaded with rubber bullets.

The SSP officers began making note of the violent protesters, ignoring the ones remaining peaceful. They started bracing to break up the demonstration before it degenerated into a full-out riot.

Then, someone threw a Molotov cocktail at the government building, and that was it. The Grey Coats fired rubber bullets into the crowd, and many began shouting in pain. The order was given to cease firing, and the Enforcers walked calmly into the dissapating crowd and began arresting people. Within minutes the crowd had dispersed, and the incident was over.

The end tally of the day was this: 273 Protesters were arrested, 7 Grey Coats and 2 Enforcers were injured. Bloodless. Luckily.

The whole thing could be blamed on out of control spirits amongst the protesters, so Commander Dreyfous let most of the protesters go home, with a warning, holding 28 people who were believed to have begun the violence.

The Worker's State of Kulikovia hereby condemns this blatant attempt to snuff out opposition to the government. By outlawing a political ideaology in a nation, you are denying your very citizens their political rights. By threatening mass-arrests of Communist supporters, you are infringing upon basic citizen rights. Political freedom is a cherished right that must be upheld. It is a sad day, to see people harrassed and arrested solely based on their ideaology.

To the Worker's State of Kulikovia

Your accusations that this move is merely an attempt to snuff out political opposition is unfounded: no such moves have been made, or will be made against the Popular Democratic Party or the Libertarian Party. As it is, the government is run by two differing parties. I suggest you learn the basic facts about a given situation before you begin hurling accusations.

It could also be argued, though I will not make this formal accusation, that you are only defending these people because they agree with your own nation's ideology. You and your people obviously do not have the same experience with the caustic effects that so-called "revolutionaries" have on a civilized society that guards the very moral fiber of the world.

We find your countries recent conversion from communism disappointing. Socialism allows for the government to ensure corrupt business leaders do not control your economy. The suppression of idea's is unfortunate for me to hear. We will still consider business meetings with your country. However do not expect military assistance in case riots occur in your country. Relocation of that many people will never work.

You can rest easy as to Neniven's fate: he will remain in prison to serve out a sentence of twenty years, and will serve a life sentence under house arrest. Do not worry about me having him killed: he is an old war buddy of mine, and he has too much respect from me for me to have him killed.

Please know that Neniven is recognized as the leader of a terrorist Marxist organization, the RBPA, and that is his crime, not merely being a communist.

As for your country taking in supporters of the communist party, I shall make this possibility available to them, and I will help any who wish to go to your country get there.

From the Desk of Generalissimo Steven P. Grimmeberger

To the President of Jayate,

I suggest you reword your condemnation; as it is worded now, it could be interepreted as an invitation to bloodthirsty revolutionaries to violent revolt. This will not be tolerated, and to prevent any such misunderstanding, I suggest and request that your statement be reworded.

The government will not take back its actions; this decision has been made with only the well-being of the people of our nation, and the world, at heart. Furthermore, former members of the Communist Party can be pardoned if they simply admit that they were a member of the Communist Party and make an official apology.

I will make the point that I have made before; your experience with members of the Communist faction is clearly different than what we have experienced here; many adherents of this dangerous ideology have violently attempted to overthrow the current order of our nation, putting many in mortal danger. We are merely fulfilling our responsibility to keep the people of the FRFS safe. I hope this will help you understand our position.

While the Final Soviet busies itself declaring all vessels under the Fanboyist flag pirate ships and GSIC searches for Fanboyist citizens in the Indian subcontinent, comrade Graeme Igo, Grandfather of the Igovian Revolution says only that Communism is outlawed in every pre-Communist state by necessity, and that making an open declaration such as this can only be a political stunt. "Every bourgeois state cracks down on Communist movements where they are actually Communist, so the banning of Party-oriented pretenders is of little concern to the true revolutionary." Says Igo.

To the Leadership of the Indian Soviet Commonwealth,

A few things need to be addressed.

1) Inform Mr. Graeme Igo that he is wrong. This nation will not fall to the scourge of the Leftists on my watch, nor on the watch of any other of this nation's leaders.

2) The banning of Party-oriented communists is of little significance, so he is correct there; they held little power before anyway, and the real threat were the militant RBPA, who have been annihilated in a series of campaigns.

3) Declaring ships under our flags pirate ships is an excuse to attack or impound them; this in turn, merits a declaration of war. We will not allow this challenge to our sovreignty to stand. I hereby demand that you remove the "pirate" designation from all ships of our nation.

4) I will not stop anyone from our nation from going to your country; however, you will have to help them make such arrangements, as I will not help a nation that has shown itself to be completely hostile; other nations have managed to deal with this with some civility.

5) May I ask why you are searching for Fanboyist nationals on the Indian subcontinent? What will happen to any that you do find?

Ombudsman to region A72:

Athenae Magnus would like to know an estimation of the number of official Communist Party (and Socialist Party) members in your country. We're a rather small nation, but we may be willing to take in some of your Communist Party members should they desire to come.

We're also interested in what will happen to five of our nationals, all of whom are Communist Party members back home (In this, our Socialist State). Will you be ejecting international Communists vacationing in your lands or visiting family?

We would also like to know what you will be doing with the bank accounts and properties of known Communists, especially those who will be emigrating from your nation.

Lastly, we would like to know what you plan to do with all of your Communist and Socialist literature, found in the homes of political criminals and in libraries and bookstores. If you plan on destroying these works we'd much rather have them sent to us; we'll be happy to pay the shipping costs.

Athenae Magnus wishes to express regret that you would resort to this measure in order to keep peace and stability in your nation. We are happy that you've kept from resorting to out-n-out violence, though. Though we are displeased with your course of actions the safety of our comrades and our literature is much more important, and we are willing to work with you in order to reach the best outcome for both sides.

The arrangement of transports for the refugees is acceptable. Thank you for your cooperation.

As for an estimate of the number of refugees, I can only give a rough total and how many have applied for assistance going to your country. An estimated 948,000 total refugees, with, I believe, 28,000 applicants to go to your country at this time; however, not all applications are processed at this point by any means: that number could easily be considerably higher.

The Soviet Commonwealth, lacking any actual leaders (short of describing the whole able-minded adult population as such), manages none the less to address Grimmeberger's communique in its own time. A reply from Raipur, de facto capital of Soviet India, indicates that the Fanboyist state is considered by the Commonwealth an illegal entity lacking any soveriegn power, regarding that as vested in a populace denied self-administration. Fanboyist assets sighted in Soviet or protected territory, then, are considered high probability sources of criminal activity and are now to be treated with extreme caution and suspicion by Indo-Soviet persons.

As to the search for Fanboyists in the subcontinent, like fears are cited. Raipur wishes to know which if any Fanboyist citizens may be present in the Commonwealth so that GSIC -the Gelert Sentinels- can conduct 'security investigations'.

While India has done nothing to directly evacuate dissenters from the FRFS, it is apparent that any who make it to India or to a nation enjoying Soviet friendship or protection may be helped to settle in the Commonwealth.
