Granade Turquesa Isla

(OOC: sort of my comeback thread to Nationst)
"Hello world my name is Catalina Asturias, I am 16 years old and I come from a small costal town in western Grande Turquesa Isla, and I am going to sail around the world. I come from a long line of fishers, and sailors, so it shouldn't be a problem for me. My goal is to bring attention to our small nation, and maybe give my home town a boost with charity money. We could use a few new things, new school supplies, more up-to-date medical facilities, heck even better boats. Now my parent's aren't too excited about this, both are scared to death, but this is my choice and I want to do this. This is a map, I know no state of the art editing or special effects, just a simple map. I am starting here, I will be going through the Pacific, the Atlantic, into Xanadou Sea, and into 1000 island then 10000 islands, and back here. It will be long, at least 6-8 months, providing my motor works the whole time. If that fails, I will have to rely on wind power. I hope my video blog will catch the attention of many and hope some will be of assistance to me even. Until then I will sign off."
The screen went black as the film cut off. It was the only thing Catalina, now 17, had that was left of her old life. Her country of GTI collapsed, and it was divided into several tribes. Unfortunately with Autocratic tribes, came oppressive rule. People were assigned jobs and that would be the job they had. Because Cat's family had moved from the coast before the collapse she was assigned "Farmer." Not that she minded. She had a great husband and a little girl all her own. She was happy. "Mama!" Her girl Mariana came running to her jumping into her arms. "Hi babe." Her husband Raul came in shortly behind.
"Hey I was getting worried. Looks like the storm is moving in faster."
"And it sounds like it's gotten worse. I think we may be in for a hurricane."
"A hurricane, but we have crops, we have this whole farm to think about. We aren't even prepared for one."
"The storm gained strength. Now it's a full blown hurricane."
"If it is, and we're hit, you know we'll lose the crops. We won't be able to pay our tax."
"We'll just have to pray."
Catalina held Mariana close to her. The family waited as the storm threw it's violent rage destroying just about everything. Wind, rain, lighting, thunder and flood waters. Catalina sat comforting her frightened daughter. When the storm had subsided they surveyed their wrecked farm. Not good at all. No crops equaled no food, and no money and very angry Feudal Lords.
Days later Catalina shot up in the middle of the night. "I have it! Wake up wake up."
"What-what is it?"
"We need to pay off our debt, I should sail around the world again!"
"What?"
"When I sailed, I gained so much support, money and gifts. If I did it again, we should be able to gain the same. All I have to do is get approval and we will be fine."
"Well, if your going, we're going with?"
"No I couldn't especially my baby."
"We're coming. We're a family and we're in this together."
Catalina sighed. Her husband was stubborn. "There's no changing your mind I guess. But still Mariana is so young, I'm worried about taking her a long trip."
"She'll be fine. We will be."
