Backstory:
A walk in the Jungle (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=542555) Stratton gets sent on a badley botched deep CSAR and prision break operation, this involves events leading directly up to "A night on the town"
Operation Wired Mercenaries (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=539994) A semi-failed attempt at a Mil-excercise RP, been retconned, but it shows off the nich Grant plays in all this. ANOTT also hints that such meetings aren't uncommon.
IC: Now to get on with it:
The tramp steamer, "HTS Smokey", a Slims Class transport bought en masse from Leafanistan due to their inconspicous nature was arriving at a nearby port in a country fromerly known as "The Free Land of the Khornate Tribes".
Nowdays, the country was anything but free.
Map (http://www.meatballs.terminator.org.uk/crookfur/images/KTmap.jpg)
Years of infighting, civil war, sectarian violence, oppression, and occupation left but a mere hollowed out shell of its former self. There were 4 major zones.
Hurtian controled sector: Located in the Southwest. Where the people had been rallied around and homogonized with the common cause of retaking the country and becoming free once more. At least that was the government promise. Things turned out quite differntly when the other forces started openly using nukes to counter aggression, and with the dissolution of the GASN. The Hurtians conduct an open border policy within a harsh police-state ruled by militias and policing units based in forts.
Former Undershi/CA Sector: Located in the north. The people here have been notably been oppressed by the Undershi military, crucifixion being the primary means of public execution. All dissedents were rounded up and shot. This sector has been largely ignored, and has been ceded to the Maldorian Mandalore as his personal plaything. Nowdays anything goes, due to a heavy-handed black market economy. The CA practiced the threat of nuclear retaliation as their defense policy in this sector.
Crookfur Sector: Located along the Eastern peninsula. Crookfur practices a closed and heavily defended border policy. Not much is known of what goes on behind their walls. Local reconoitering missions have become lost and presumed missing in this sector.
Uncontroled: As stated, still ruled by 'feral' nomads and enterprising warlords.
This boat, was heading into part along the Northern coast, where they'd be closer to who they wished top speak, and be able to do so much more freely than in the Hurtian sector.
Doctors McManus and Randerson, escorted by Agents George Stilson and Cletus Darvill (All Hurtian except Cletus).

Northern Khornate Port:
While the tactical team was away, discussing matters with the Five Points Militia -regarding the appearance of a 'street legal' drug derrived from a biological psychotropic weapon program in Mokastana- new orders were issued. They were instructed to monitor the destabalization of Volzgrad and to force the destabalization of all their allies through whatever means necessary.
The ship was to leave port the next day.
Gran' ma's house Red-light district, Northern sector
The street was littered with neon lights, and shady shops, one in particular, "Gran' ma's house" depicting a warped version of a Brother's Grim fairy tale, was packed with customers, these places had become centralized hubs of black-market transactions and secret meetings within the north.
And today was no different.
Cletus Darvill made his way through the crowd with a disconcerning amount of familiarity to his comrads, heading straight for a particular table.
He sat down, two of his comrads sat down at seprate tables, only McManus had sat down next to Darvill and their new aquaintance.
Grant: "Ah, they had a good mind to pick you as their guide... And I commend your recently re-discovered backbone for showing your face in my establishment."
Darvill "You know as well as I do I'm not here for my own benefit, I heard you've been peddling weapons grade psychotropics as designer drugs."
Grant: "I have no idea what you are talking about..." He was about to get up and walk away.
McManus: "Stratton is dead. We just recovered the body, it was filled to the gills with HADES, we also know that your unit was... 'in the know'... about that project, and that the drug doesn't store very well after use. You've got a factory, and it's killing people."
Grant: "So what if I do have such a factory? How does that make me worse than Mendez?"
Darvill: "It certainly won't help you look any better."
Grant: "True, although four against one in a peaceful conversation seems a bit wrong, I'd suggest your other two friends take a good look around, half the people here are under my employ, and they'd gladly dispose of you unless I tell them otherwise."
Darvill: "I already know that, they already know that, I also know you are horrible at picking spies out from a crowd. And besides, we aren't asking for you to destroy these stocks, I'm asking you to weaponize them."
McManus began to rise from his chair and speak "We weren't sent here to..." but was cut short as Darvill plunged a knife in an uppercut motion, through the diaghram, and twisting the blade to slive the liver, luns, anf heart.
Dr Randerson and Stilson then began to rise, a go-go dancer produced a Mac-10 and cut Stilson down in a well aim burst, another pinned Randerson to a wall.
Grant: "Looks like you were on our side all along, welcome to the team, is Randerson knowledgeable in project Hades?"
Darvill: "He knows enough."
Grant: "Excellent, now get the doctor to work."
The dancers then dragged the doctor away, as others disposed of the two dead bodies.
Dockyards:The next day
The crates of "all of Grant's HE80" were being loaded into the HTS Smokey, which was having a new paint scheme added, a cargo manifest added to reflect a medical shipment on a newly converted hospital ship to Cherinobl.
The tactical team sent to speak with Grant was missing, but reports indicated that it had been successful, though it appeared as though Grant's G4's mangaded to track down and kil them during the night. Oh well, no big loss... Alexandria Sheppard was also missing, though she was given an excused leave of abscence to be a mole in another spy-ring.
Darvill's body was found hanging on a makeshift gallows on a nearby pier, around his neck hung a sign. "Do not cry for me
for I am a
TRAITOR
to
The Free Land Of Khornate Tribes"
The ship left port yet again, this time as the hospital ship "Lazarus", sailing under a Maldorian flag.

This is gonna be Epic :D
I wonder how Volz/Mok would handle a HOI (SOC) platoon arriving via ship...
[Named HTS Smokey, legally a tramp steamer]
Ironicly it'd be more or less the same group Moka has seen earlier... (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13461064&postcount=181) Minus Alexandria.
So you won't have any distractions. Or more correctly, so that I won't be distracted.
3 Groups:
1- Lt. John 'Slam' Bradley (H), Pvt. Larry Gibbons (K), Corpsman Isaac Freeman (K), Dr. Don Mossman (H)
2- Sgt Ralph Hayes (H), Pvt. Abraham J. Foyt (C), Corpsman Ira Strank (C)
3- Special Agent "Bo Snow" (C), Pvt. Adrian Vance (C), Corpsman Johnothan Knots (H)
Letter denotes race -Hurtian, Chitzi, or Khornate Tribesman
McManus, Randerson, and the lawyers are going to be dropped off in KT.
McM, Rand, and the other two are dead BTW...
Not sure if I want to expose Alexandria again quite yet...
Welcome to the Jungle: For the good of all of us, except the ones who are dead.
Bandit Two: Aimless character development
Cpl. Alexandria Sheppard
Specialty: Designated Marksman/Sniper, and "propoganda-commando"
Nationality: Herholtzer, PDRC

After the war, he had the choice to start off with nothing in a bombed out city full of others who made the same choice, or to remain in HOI service, get some money, and a safe place to sleep, and help rebuild in his own way.
Corpsman Isaac Freeman
Specialty: Combat Medic
Nationality: Khornate (displaced)
Gender: Male

Considers the idea of indulging in black-market trading.
Cletus Darvill
Specialty: Defensive attorney
Nationality: Khornate immegrant
Gender: Male
Age:
Bio: Unlike his military minded squadmate from the same country, Darvill fled from the country at the first opprotunity, and is only on this mission because of his greed.

Fast-Recap for those too lazy:
RSA disbanded: ships go in circles for awhile under Maldorian flag
Greston leaves CA: ships go to TWSP, the crew takes a nap
Mal, Greston, and BL have a little puddle-scrape: ships head for Fitzrovia under guise of the Red Tide Mafia.
Fighting ceases: Boat presumably returns to Maldorian sector of Khornate Tribes.
And now for some reason attacking the CA is a good idea. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=558392)
Now on with the story.
IC:
Some time later:
Generic looking Slims class fast general-cargo ship, docked, Khornate Tribes
Lt. Bradley and the Hutrian crew stayed relatively hidden, or "Al Johnsoned up" in order to look slighly less conspicous in the Corprate dominated northern region. Though the Mandalore didn't seem too interested in events out in these boondocks, a slip in "ethnicity disipline" would blow their cover as members of the Red Tide Mafia attempting to broker an open rebellion in the Hurtian controled south.
The native Khornate tribesmen in the unit were at particular risk, though they blended quite well, the Corprate Alliance wasn't too well liked in these parts, and niether were those who openly left the country in the ruined state that it is now in. There was a dead but unidentifiably mutilated body hanging from a makeshift gallows that further drove this point home upon arrival.
The Chitzi troops, though the didn't "blend" weren't considered a security risk if they ventured off the ship. These men, though not particularily liked because of their tendancy to thump the bible rather hard, were tolerable provided one didn't stray into the field of religious beliefs.
The new orders were fairly simple, leave a few men behind with a package containing sealed orders, and then take the boat out to sea for further instructions, all while still maintaining the guise of the Red Tide.
Khornate Tribes, Southern zone, "Grant's City"
In a small, slightly mortared and pock-marked house, lay a hidden hive of rebel activity. Recent orders had been recieved to ready nuclear missile silos in retaliation of the attempted siezure of their drugs by a Maldorian hospital-ship with the aid of what to the local appeared to be some hired goons from the GRRF.
The missiles were a well kept secret, true, anyone with an eye in the sky could see missile silos, hundreds of them perhaps. But the secret was not merely the possesion of said ICBMs, but the steady supplier of them and whether they had warheads. The sheer audacity of a group of terrorists packing more "heat" than the government they were rebelling against while everyoe did nothing could easily be enough for grounds to excuse these reports as "dick waving", "Fear mongering", or just simply really bad propoganda.
Those that didn't believe the rumurs would be in for the shock of their lives.

RE: An ultimatum
Dear sirs,
[tab]I am regretful to inform you, that we have been assigned the duties to dispose of your nation in an attempt to cripple the very Corprate Alliance that you hold dear. As a headstrong former ally, we wish to strike a bargain, in order to reduce bloodshed, and could be quite benificial to both your countrymen, and to our own.
It may not make much sense, but we would like to borrow command of a few of your most obsolete warships and transports in your dockyards, secondly, we would like you to not partake in the war against your Corprate Commrades in arms. Being ourselves been in the CA, we know that it is a very loose organization, the lack of your participation in this minor qualm will hardly be missed, plus it will spare quite a few lives.
However, if the corprate watchdogs are breathing down your very neck to the point that you have no chioce but to refuse, our watchdogs breathing down our necks will give us no choice but to attack and utterly disarm you.
If the above statement lacks punch, I shall take the time to outline how exactly the war would resault in the end:
-While you were an ally, certain seedier branches of our military have taken the effort to transplant themselves into your infrastructure.
-Also while an ally, we have gained working knowledge of how your forces conduct themselves in the worlds of warfare and espionoge.
-There is a virus on this document that will shut down all computers within your country in the next 96 hours, by the time you have read this far, it has already spread across the main server, we suggest you reply before time runs out so that one of our techies may disarm the virus.
We shall give your nation 2 weeks notice before we shall begin hostilities.
Have a nice day, Mandalore, sleep tight, don't let the assasins bite.
Sincerely, with all honesty and integrity,
Leader Milo
Meanwhile, some random hatemail from an internet-cafe in Khornate Tribes (gotta give the Corprate guess some credit in loving Starbuck coffee, right?), which read like this:
To: Poopy Faced Mandalore, which I shall nowforth call the world's biggest PFM
From: General Grant, Supreme leader of your mom.
How darez joo takes our monies and our seedies, for that we shall nook your Nooby azz to Harry-Potter land you world's biggest PFM.
PS: I know where you live.
Meanwhile, from a cafe in the parking lot of aformentioned cafe, came another message, this one a warning of sorts:
Dear Madalore,
This may be a bit treasonous, but I and a number of my friends have reason to believe that an all-out nuclear strike shall occur on your soil within the next 96 hours, followed and/or preceeded by a series of assasination attempts by rogue Khornate paramilitaies calling themselves the "Five Points Militia".
The reason is not readily apparent, but I believe it had something to do with one of your ships -the "Lazarous" I believe- had taken on a non-human cargo of the boxy and haz-matty kind. I think you angered them sir.

I shoulda gotten Vault or Izi to write that for me, or better yet, Hat...
Yeah, I can picture Hat doing that better...

Mokastana

MBSA HQ, Mokastana
In the Mokan complex called the Mokastana Bureau of Secret Actions, they had all the recourses to commit covert actions around the globe, research nearly any target, and track targets for nearly any military unit capable of taking care of them. Not the mention they were Mokastana's intelligence service. For months the Biological division had been investigating a foreign drug that had been involved in an outbreak in the Sur countryside. They new it was a drug, not a virus because of a small blood sample recovered before the outbreak was properly "contained" by outdated SCUD missiles. The only problem was that they had trouble finding its origin.
Though when an email was intercepted out of a Khornate coffe shop talking of hazmat cargo on a ship called the "Lazarous" it didn't seem like much. Until the "wild man" of the Sur region was captured. An recent legend had broke out after the "SCUD attack" about a wild man that stole crops and small animals. While he preferred to stay away from farmers at least three deaths had been credited to him. Needless to say the MBSA Bio division feared this was a loose end in the case and spent three months tracking him down, all in secret of course. In the end he had been stopped by a lucky pilot for Montana Inc who crashed his plane into the wild man. The wild man lived, the pilot did not, while it was not sure why the pilot crashed one thing was certain, Montana Inc. had captured it. After a deal had been made between the two, the MBSA regained control of the wild man, and the men for Montana who had contacted the wild man were "cleaned," by another Bolivian militant attack. Montana Inc looked the other way. For Montana, the trade for one wild man, and 16 men was worth the half a million dollars, and rights to export guns to certain "nations."
The wild man was strapped down to a table and tested for traces of what was called, the Southern strain. Currently he was under the influence of some pretty powerful pain relievers, by the look of it he had not been doing so well under Montana's custody. Luckily for him he tested clean of the drug. The incinerators were then turned off. Judging by the armor he wore, the look of his body and other traits they determined he was from a hell hole called:
The Free Land Of Khornate Tribes.
He moved slightly, he was waking up....
no one here spoke the language of the man, so when he started mumbling they recorded it and waited. before they injected a little more sleep aide into him they heard something about "Stratton" and "Cthulhu"

What is this nonsense!? This alliance, in which our mighty nation is a member of, is nothing but a group of traitorous dogs? You fools really wish to betray one of your own-member nations? Blasphemsy!
We would like to inform you that you are in direct violation of one your own rules in the ADAN 'Constitution'. Your hypocrisy amuses me, sir. Not only that, but you threaten us, claiming that you will "give us no choice but to attack and utterly disarm you." Hah! Our armed forces would pounce on whatever move you attempt. Mandalorian military assets are being mobilized at this very moment. Do not think for one second that you and your traitorous comrades will enter our mighty nation unopposed.
If war is what you wish, then so it be. Peace be upon the honored Corporate Alliance and death to those who oppose it.

The Mandalore, after sending the transmission to the traitors at PROHT, recline in his chair, pondering the outcome of this upcoming conflict. Right then, four Mandalorian Brutes accompanied with a Dark General poured into the small room. The Mandalore was thoroughly shocked.
"What is the meaning of this?! Zahir, explain yourself!"
Dark General Zahir, head of the band of Mandalorians, promptly replied, "This if for your own safety. We have been receiving messages...threats of assassinations....nuclear attack, and the like. We are going to pull you back to The Last Stand complex in the northern Mando'a mountains... We have helicopters prepped for evac procedures. We are brining the whole War Cabinet to The Last Stand. Come on, sir, time is of essence...."

RE: Your "Response"
This "nonsense" as you put it, was an attempt to prevent hostilities, which although you have not flatly refused, you most certainly have not accepted our offer for a peaceful resolution.
I'd also like to clarify that we are not giving ourselves no choice, but you are giving us very little say in the matter.
Steve Barnes -our liason with ADAN- has assured me, that we are not violating any rules laid down by the charter. Also, we never for a moment considered that our attack, if necessary, would be unopposed, as every nation is expected to have the right to defend their sovereignty.
Currently, we are being peaceful, otherwise, if you read our initial letter in your palace, you'd be dead. You may wish to restrain yourself from making empty threats, for we may not be restrain ourselves if you continue.
As a parting note, it appears you have made plenty of enemies both outside and inside of your country and their outlying territories, some of whom are quite close to you, and would use any excuse to take over your lands in order to carry out their plans should your leadership prove an inconvienence to them. Keep this in mind as you are being shuffled away to sit out the remainder of the war on a desolate rock.
Leader Milo
PS: Tell C. Griffencrest that [Pedro W.] Mendez gives his regards to his [Griffencrest's long deceased] wife. He had an excelllent time.

Milo sighed as he picked up a phone, on the other end was his Secretary of Defense...
"Wake up Mendez, have his men be ready for global deployment in the next 140 hours... Make the call over non-secure lines, code-name the Operation Stratton... in honor of one of the men they lost a few days ago... Make it clear that he will be recieving full support from Pinkerton."
..
"I don't care how important [Barney Gumball] thinks The Khornate Tribes are, I want him to get some hard intell on Ackbar!"
...
"Nukes?! How the hell did those monkeys get those?"
...
"Why am I always the last to know these things? Oh, right, plauasable deniability... gotcha... I didn't hear who supplied them then... I thought WC was a dead-case..."
...
"So how many benefactors does this operation have? 15? You don't say... Well, shoot, this war'll be easy if they're good on their word..."

OOC: I am not sure what direction you want to take this in, but just consider this my government poking around trying to figure out what is going on.
MBSA HQ, Mokastana
The office for anything connected to ADAN was going crazy, both Maldorians and Hurtful Thoughts were gearing up for war, perhaps against eachother. What was scary was that Hurtful Thoughts was not even trying to hide its mobilization, which turned out to be called, Operation Stratton. Something not very confronting given the fact that a Khorate tribesman in custody kept repeating something about that.
This was getting rather confusing really fast. First off, Maldorians was Corporate Alliance, which the Hegemony was currently at war with. Second off, what was the Hurtful Thoughts connection to Stratton? Either way their first objective was to get into the The Free Land Of Khornate Tribes.
Of course that would mean dealing with the Hurtians somehow. Since plans didn't regularly just fly in and allow tourist. Not to mention any people who would try to would no doubt raise some red flags. Instead they decided to try an old trick in the book, humanitarian aide. A small group disguised as a Christian mission trip would make their way to the barren wastelands and find someone who spoke both a Mokan Language and the local dialects. Some one who could disappear for a while without making to many people nervous.
Soon enough, members of the Reformed Church of Jesus Christ's Followers made an appeal to the Government of Hurtful Thoughts to allow them to have a mission trip to the god forsaken land.

Soon enough, members of the Reformed Church of Jesus Christ's Followers made an appeal to the Government of Hurtful Thoughts to allow them to have a mission trip to the god forsaken land.
Oddly enough, Steve Barnes and Hubert Pinkerton intervened and had the request transfered to the local Consul for the Maldorian (Corprate Alliance) sector in northern Khornate tribes, thus bypassing the Mandalore and his intellegence networks completely.
In their defense, the Hurtians also claimed that, being a protectate of their nation, the southern sectors were their responsability...

My apologies for not noticing this thread earlier however if you wish me to remain out for this for now for the sake of the RP it's cool.
Mal: roughly what sort of force levels would you have deployed in KT?
IC:
While the day to day on goings of the Crookfur sector might be pretty darned opaque to observers on the ground, to those with more a strategic outlook and a mind to actually read the odd Crookfur newspaper things were pretty clear, Crookfur was making a huge nation building investment.
With the last few Hill tribes now ether assimilated or eliminated Crookfur had been able to get on with the serious job of rebuilding the nation, a task made easier by the fact that much of what remained of the previous "government" had ended up in the Crookfur sector.
Massive investments in commerce and infrastructure had raised the standard of living far above that enjoyed by Tribalians in other sectors. Investment hadn't been restricted to the Civilian side of things, the Enclave now had its own functioning army which while not yet up to 1st world levels of training and development did have lots of shiny Crookfur guns and plentiful experience dealing with their reluctant brothers in the Hills (on several occasions Tribali Combat groups had to be withdrawn from COIN operations in the hills due to their over zealous nature).
it would also be easily noted that as the Tribali Armed forces had expanded hugely their had been a notable lack of any reciprocal Crookfur deployments in the enclave.

OOC: just so you know, Reformed Church of Jesus Christ's Followers is like southern baptist combined with televangelist. Only twice as currupt and often say things along the lines of: You are going to hell, so donate all your money to me so I may have a chance at saving you.
IC:
After much paper pushing and confusion and paper trails that would confuse or excite any bureaucrat, depending on personal taste of course, the five men were allowed into the nation.
The first was Major Albert Cruz from the Bolivian attack incident, this was his case and of course it was going to be his duty to figure out more then just the mop up.
With him was a another associate of the MBSA, a nameless charater who preferred to stay that way. Some would call him the man that started the Mejican Revolution. Other would call him a private contrator, some would call him Jose...
Another man was actually a member of the Reformed Church of Jesus Christ's Followers, some one kept on MBSA payroll to make sure the paperwork was in order and that the mission had credibility. This man was called by his followers Saint Micheal Smith. Since the Church called their pastors saints instead of pastors.
The forth was one of the Saints Bodyguards, a large well built man who hardly ever spoke and only spoke to "the boss." Of the group, he was the only of african decent and therefore probably the only one who would not get killed from a walk around the local towns. Note the word Probably. He was always refered to as "Buddy".
The last man was the most out of place here. A representative of Montana Inc sent by the company because the MBSA was a close buddy. Whenever they needed something done, something that not even the MBSA could do, it was Montana's well paid job. This character, Manuel Zimmer, was here to determine if export of weapons to this area would be profitable and to figure out if that attack was suppose to be an attack on Montana Inc.

Primary Goal:
1)set up an establishment in country, preferably an uncontrolled area.
2) Find a traslator that can speak both local dialects and Mokan Languages.
Secondary Goals:
1) Determine cause of hostiles between Hurtful thoughts and Maldorians.
1a) Set course of action if needed for Mokan benefit.
1b) Set course of action for Montana Inc benefit.

HT, you could at least use the up to date map:

My apologies for not noticing this thread earlier however if you wish me to remain out for this for now for the sake of the RP it's cool.
Mal: roughly what sort of force levels would you have deployed in KT?
-That may be the up to date map but it lacked a key and I couldn't find the better ones.
-It's cool by me.
-No clue what Mal did when Undershi pulled out.

-K, I may need to check with the warhammer RPs to figure out what kind of torture awaits them...
-If Mal REALLLY doesn't want to let you in either, I suppose I can get "Hans" to smuggle your men in. Hope you don't mind riding in a Chinese Y-5 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-2)...
Anyways, Mal's now sorta on a 2 front diplomacy war until the shooting starts here or resumes over there. So things may slow.
The great part though, is that the other RP can't really progress until this one does.
Last I checked, it takes 2 to escalate into a war.

I think this is where Mal is supposed to start mobilising troops in preparation for my invasion (unless he wants to get caught flat-footed with nukes), replying to Mokastana's request to send Christians into an Anti-Christian pit of oily chaos, and overall stuff to get the plot moving again...
The funneh part is, if this war were done in Realtime, it'd be over with by now, and he'd be in debt because my currency is thought and my tanks are fight...

HT chaos wise the hill tribes are all khorne worshipers so totures would be your average run of mill barabarian wargod worshipping kind of stuff, although the use of people as furniture might be fitting (as khrone is also the chaos god of furniture). Any remaining city dwellers/people woudl worship Slaanesh which means things take on a more hentai style,,,
