Over my time of RP'ing on II, I have made constant references to an event in my nation's recent past known as the Great Revolution. In each thread of mine I have left small bits and peices of what happened during this time, and until now was planning on continuing to reveal the details of what happened during the revolution in small parts for whoever may read my threads to peice together.Now though, I have decided that I don't want to make everyone read every little detail of all of my RP's in order to figure out the story. Therefore, I'm going to tell the story through a semi-open-ended RP. The ultimate ending will be set, and there will be a number of required events, but other than that it will be entirely freeform.

Post here if you wish to have one or more characters in the Holy Empire at this time. It takes place 18 years before the current MT time, so the ages of any already existing characters will ned to be altered accordingly. Characters involved may be anything from tourists caugth up in the civil war to agents of foreign governments trying to sway the war one way or another. No large-scale military involvement by any nation is permitted. If you wish to create a character that is a citizen of The Dominion (as my nation was called at that time), please ask me for permission first.

I'd like to be a foreign agent. What are the different sides?

The government at the time is a communistic totalitarian dictatorship. The rebels are capitalistic and democratic.

The largest rebel faction that is really leading the revolution, known as the Abrahamic League, is a group of clergymen of Islam, Christianity, and Judaeism and their followers. The AL is considered by some to be extremist and fanatical in nature, not in their ideals but rather in the methods by which they acheive their goals (though they never attack any civilians, they are not above torture of captured enemy soldiers and executing prisoners en masse) and their reasoning behind their actions (they beleive for the most part that they are agents of God's will whose duty it is to purge evil and tyranny from the earth). The founder of the AL, an anglican preist known only as the Liberator (or "Sumguy" in the nation's native language) will later elected as as Emperor (not a dictatorial office though, it gives him about as much power as the US president) for the nation, and go on to found the international alliance known as The Hegemony. He remains the head of state in the current MT time.

The revolution really gets started when the government bans religious worship, making it a felony.

Well a typical Assault Team would have fifteen. A Kilo, or recon team, would have five. I'll be sending two assault teams and a Kilo Team which is one GSG-9 Platoon.

The ending is set, but the path to such an end is not. Hopefully with such a setup we may all focus on making it a good story, rather than anyone trying to "win".

OOC: I'm not really sure how to participate here. Seeing that it's a revolution of sorts I have numerous options. I am best in playing single characters or groups of two to three, so I'm going to stick with that. It's been a while since I've done a decent modern-tech RP with anyone.

1: With most revolution RP's I usually enter through an arms offering to one side or the other, usually the revolutionaries since they're typically portrayed in the most favorable light and the other guys usually outgun them, not that it matters to me who's right. As a private military contractor nation, profit is the end that justifys all means.

2: I could arrange for small-scale assistance to either side through the use of advisors, which would be highly proficient mercenaries, either a counter-insurgency specialist for the Dominion, or an insurgency specialist for the guerillas.

3: While I'm trying to stay away from the whole 'foreign agent' thing since there are several already in play, I can provide an assassin-style operative for lone-wolf seek-and-destroy missions to either side.

4: Similar in concept to option 3, I can add a small team of operatives that can perform a broader range of missions. The group would consist of three individuals.

Since I'm not really clear on the storyline or what would be more useful, I'd like the host to make a suggestion.
