Crash in Hefonfia (FT|Closed|ATTN: Weccanfeld)
The ship had gone off course and they had no way of communicating back home. They had been like this for days, maybe months, they didn't have a reliable calendar. It seemed like forever to everyone on board although they soon saw a planet. It wasn't one belonging to the Confederacy but it was still a planet and if it were really that hostile wouldn't it have something patrolling the space near it?
The crew made for a landing on the ship's surface but they lost control because of the planet's pressure. It was about 300 kPa which was about thrice the amount they were used to. They still pushed on however but the landing was more of a crash than a landing. Their ship was busted because of it and they could only put on their suits and walk out. They soon realized that the planet they had crashed on was primarily agricultural and that they would probably need their PEP guns to defend themselves.

The shockwave was felt for miles around. Fortunately, there were very few people who were miles around. And only one who thought it any more than just a tremor.
He was a member of one of the two sentient species that made up Hefonfia, having two limbs dedicated to walking and four to handling things, unlike his three limbed counterpart. And also unlike his counterpart, he got the hard jobs. He was but a farmer, sowing, growing and harvesting the white plants that dominated a large section of the planet. It was hardly an exciting job.
Thus, his attention wasn't completely on his job. He allowed himself to glance at the sky above, a red one to our eyes, but black to his.
And he saw something. A faint glint to his eyes, but close enough to be barely seen. It moved slowly through the sky, like a shooting star, but with a much longer life. It moved down through the sky, steadily accelerating toward the ground, getting brighter and brighter.
The light was so close now that the alien had all but stopped his work, gazing at the object with intent eyes. Another light appeared, and began to come straight toward him, getting bigger and bigger. Before long a sound began to echo around the valley in which he farmed a great deal of his crops, a faint whooshing sound.
As the lights hit the ground, a large sound similar to a crash thundered around. A red object fell near to him, perhaps 30 feet away, but close enough to throw him off balance, and fill him with panic and confusion as to what the thing was.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a piece of metal. Red Hot Metal.

It's not every day that stuff from space lands near you. Less likely yet that you survive to tell the tale. Taking the Hefonfian equivalent of a hunting shotgun, the alien had approached the crash site with caution, remembering other, similar events. Years ago, it had been a Hefonfian passenger ship that had been shot down by rebels. The local military force, a force that seemed large for such a foreign and outback world, had swarmed the place in an about an hour. That's when the troubles really began. And to that day it had never really ended.
From those days onward, he had never really trusted anyone, rebel or not. At least, not when there wasn't a gun within reach.
Because some things can't be forgotten.
The crash was hard for the crew and they definetly felt the impact. The ship wasn't that large, it was a military ship which had broken off formation in a training exercise. It contained only a fifth of a centuria, which meant only about 20 soldiers. There were 5 non-combatants who helped with the supplies on board too, but their orders were to stay on the ship with 4 of the soldiers. The other 16 would venture out to find help. They had no way of getting home although they helped Confederate Citizenship could help them out of a jam.
The first Camp vetured slowly out of the ship which was by now, pretty much a heated piece of the bleneded metal used to build ships. They soon saw a life form which appeared to have a weapon of some sort. They put their shields in front of them and placed their about 75 cm long guns through the whole placed in the centre of the shield. They stood in their row of four and started saying some stuff in their low frequency language.
"d' y/n' :m l'\y'. W/ c/| s\f' \ d'\l/m?"
They weren't entirely sure if the forienger, or perhaps in this case they were the aliens and therefore this was not a foriegner but a native, could understand them or even knew that weapons and shields were pointed at it. Hopefully what it did have was not actually a weapon but they did know that it may make sounds which they could hear back. And if they were lucky those sounds may be intelligble as their language. Although it could just be that the sounds were not even picked up by the lifeform as the government had noticed before and that they were with a native who could not communicate orally at a normal frequency.

It was a strange sight. A line of creatures of the likes he had never seen before appeared before him, a low sound coming from them. He had no idea what they were saying, if it was a threat or a friendly question. His hand tightened their grip on the gun. For a short time, deadlock settled over the two parties.
It was shattered by the loud and quickly approaching sound of an aeroplane, most likely sent to investigate the place. It was a machine the alien didn't enjoy. Clenching his shotgun closer to his body, he listened intently to the engines, getting ever so louder.
Then there was another sound, one that was almost blocked out by the louder one.
Before long, a loud explosion echoed throughout the valley, causing the shotgun to go off, firing pellets harmlessly above the new party. As the flaming hulk of a Hefonfian fighter plane pulmetted through the skies, the farmer didn't know what was worse.
The ineviatable retaliation of the occuping forces against the rebels that had shot down the second fighter in a month. Or the fact that he just fired warning shots above a most likely pissed party of aliens.
In any case, his life was about to get a whole lot more interesting.
OOC: So basically another aircraft was shot down and landed near my aliens?
IC:
The soldiers were frightened by the sight of this new thing and thought that this creatures had summoned it after they had clearly stated that they come in peace and whether he carried a weapon or not. The gun was fired and they immediately recognized its nature. It was a weapon alright and the native standing before them had probably summoned it afterall. While the shot appeared to be out of fear - indicating that the speed of the summoning was probably more than it had expected - it had revealed the creature's true nature.
The soldiers decided to take what they thought would be a move of common sense and shoot at what appearred to be a hostile threat. How threatening was debatable, but it was atleast a nuissance and probably more than that too. Each soldier fired about four or five times at the alien, the Pulsed Energy Projectiles hurtling towards the creature's physical form. They thought that they had most likely killed the creature. The situation could still deteriorate from here although it was pretty bad already.

The farmer was dead. But the pilot wasn't. He was alive, but only just.
He was one of the three limbed race that guilded Hefonfia. Three limbs, used for walking and for handling proded out from the sides off a large maw, the body looking like a sack, with wings that were able to fly in this dense air.
Unfortually, this was a dying one. Most of the failsafes had failed. He got caught in the fighter, as did the cockpit. The whole plane failed to stop. When it did, it's inhabitant was blind, maimed and flatlining.
With the last ounce of his strength, he whispered some words into the communicator:
"R-r-rebel movement...near north...w-west farms. R-rebels using... advanced t-technology. Spotted large...group...using strange battle...suits..."
* * *
At the nearest military base, a strike force was being prepared, vtol gunships loaded with payloads that seemed too heavy for them. Missiles, paratroopers, autocannons...
And an atomic bomb. Just in case. Their mission - eliminate all rebels. Bases had been targeted, the military mobilised, and all without the permission or consultation of the local government. This was a army that didn't believe in procrastination, and wanted to get the kills before the dedicated airforce, navy, or space navy got there first. It was a dangerous rivalry.
OOC: Nope, I'm not going to kill you. They're going to bomb rebel bases, then prowl the countryside for more rebels, the former of which will take a while. Mobilisation will take long enough in itself.
On a side note, Holidays at last!
The aliens did not know who or what was the thing which crashed near them. All they knew was that whatever it was it was definetly dying and soon it was dead. This meant that something was shooting stuff down and that they needed to watch their heads. Making the conclusion that staying there only made them a target they got the rest of the group and moved out. They were in 5 rows of 4 with a fifth row of five non-combatants at the back.
They moved out towards the direction the native which they had killed had come from. It definetly looked like an agricultural planet - or atleast an agricultural area. Should it be a whole planet dedicated to agriculture then the soldiers thought that chances were they were dealing with another multi-system state.
