Freedom, Liberty [open invitation]

Wadestown

The towers that rose above the Eastern Seaboard were enormous. Built to stand some few kilometers above sea-level, they were among the highest in nations that shared similar technology to the United States. Set in a Post-American world, Wadestown had been formed after provincial and state governments emerged from their bunkers to discuss the forging of a new Union. Not one based on Christianity or dictated by the religious and conservative masses, but a land of true liberty and freedom. A society reformed by nuclear devastation, those who had formerly ruled had realized their mistake in thinking that the former United States of America was untouchable by its enemies.

It was not incidental then that the new Union's capital would be forged on the ruins of what was formerly New York City. Set to remind future generations of their errors but not set to bring back governments and attitudes of the old by basing it in the city of Washington D.C., it had been pledged by new authors of the American constitution to 'not infringe' on the freedoms and civil rights of all sentient beings. Not yet established itself again in the world, the new American/Wadestownian government looked inward to prevent the rise of yet another conservative wing and began the process of rebuilding.

History, as it was said by many, should not dictate the future.

But it was not too long before the American people grew restless, and the needs of the nation exceeded its capability to produce. First establishing business relationships and then political ones then became the American government's primary mission. Contacting an old friend of his the President was quick to organize an informal relationship with the Unione of Capitalizt States and soon, foreign money was flowing freely throughout Wadestown, raising the valuation of American Dollars to their former strength before the incumbents allowed them to slip. And as the economy picked up its speed so did the desire of Americans all round to forge new relationships with the world around them.

A message went out.

***ATTENTION ALL DEMOCRACIES***

Importance: Urgent

As you may or may not be aware, I would like to announce the successful re-establishment of the United States by the American people. After years we have looked inward and realized the errors of our ways--no longer shall the so-called degenerate be dehumanized and shamed from enjoying the full benefits of their evolution-given civil rights. Similarly, I look forward to cooperating with nations unlike my own, with cultures different and values not always the same.

I would like to take this opportunity, if possible, to thank the world for its attention. Understanding and reconciliation brought forth by a means of government protocols and the like make moving forward possible--in this flavor I would like formerly extend a hand of friendship to governments across the world, particularly democracies that share our personal value of civil and political freedoms. With liberties above all, and the economy from strength to strength, I am confident that we can develop a civilized world, where war is but just text in our history books. In the same way, we can move forward together and leave not one behind to suffer the consequences of an unbalanced world like we have today.

Therefore, please consider this transmission an invitation to you all to participate in a Conference designed to discuss the challenges that face our democratic world, and to forge new partnerships in close correlation with a desire to overcome them.

The conference will be held in our to-be-completed by this time next year World Convention Center on the 18th July, $Year. Please respond with your Répondez s'il vous plaît as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made with regards to security and accommodation. I hope that you may attend, so that you may not miss this important event; to unite a divided world into one entity that can overshadow all evils.

Signed,

President Grahame Maddox
Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces
The United States of Wadestown
Austar Union

Given the relationship between the two countries establishing the UCSAU as a sort of 'overseer' to the American people, it was only natural that a representative from the Austarian government be invited, and although not democratic the Unione of Capitalizt States would be attending in the form of 'political interest' and 'observation' for the nature of things to come.

Thus, a R.S.V.P. was arranged and forwarded to the President's desk on behalf of the Secretary of State.

" Thank you, " read the note. " I will be dispatching a Mr. Malcolm Finlay to represent me, since I cannot attend personally. Please accept my personal congratulations concerning the recent success of the United States. "
