I suddenly had a brain blast. Would it be worthwhile to start an RP about a dig site in [insert host nation here]. I think if the right people join, it could turn into something interesting. I'm still thinking up a storyline right now, but I believe something could happen while digging in some ruins. Unleash some hidden evil/disease/a team member is lost/etc.

Or it could be a mundane week of digging in some ancient ruins with nothing happening at all except for digging up old stuff. ^_^;

I dunno, I'm still working on it. But what do you guys think?

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

I'm just kind of stuck on deciding which plot twister to use though. I'll put some more thought into it this afternoon (got nothing to do other than that) and probably make a decision tonight. I'll get around to making the IC thread some time this week.

Ooo...Archaeology. I'd like to put in an archaeologist that could be a part of the international team excavating whatever this place, thing is.

I am most interested. The releasing an ancient evil/disease sounds like a good idea.

Oh pick me, pick me for the host nation as I am a vast Imperial nation with thousands of years of history and during the entire course of my nation's history of conquest bringing in massive wealth. Furthermore, my people have on many occasions left entire cities in ruin, have abandoned a number of cities with massive wealth still stored in the, and have a habit of building massive necropolises for their great dead and filled them with untold riches.

Past cultures vary anything from Pagan Europeans, Moslem cultures, my own Valgardians, Mongols, Indians, and later Mesopotamian civilizations

History: Saeger was born and raised out of an upper middle class family in Jonensberg. He took after his father, the famous Dr.Johannes Saeger who is an Ancient History/Archaeology Professor at the University of Jonensberg. He mentored young Lukas and filled his mind with the world of ancient history. Lukas went to Jonensberg University where he joined the swim team and earned a degree in business and minored in archaeology. From there, he started his own business of collecting and selling artifacts and antiques to both private collectors and museums. He travels the world in search of these precious items, a bit of an adventurer and adrenaline junkie as well

I'm not sure if a FT character could fit into a MT dig but here goes.

Her ship the Empress Fujiko is the HQ for the Neo Kirisuban UN team and even orbiting Earth they still have a scientific mission to perform as well as their diplomatic one.

History: Aiko is a member of the Neo Kirisuban Exploration fleet as well as a scientist. At present her ship (the NKS Empress Fujiko) is Earth bound since its the HQ for the Neo Kirisuban space federation's NSUN efforts.

She started her Starfleet career at age 16 going into the sciences and settling into Xeno-archeology. Although more used to alien cultures archeology than human cultures she's prepared to give this a go.

As usual when working away from her starship she won't take any advanced weapons with her. The Federation does not want to contaminate a less advanced planet after all and affect their technological development too much.

She will take a comm badge to keep in touch and a scientific scanner to record finds.

Notes:
The Neo-Kirisuban Federation orginally came from an area round the far eastern pacific and was heavily influenced by the ways of the samurai. Ideals these FT people still maintain and practice. She is honour bound to wear a scabbarded Tanto dagger on her left hip for this reason.

Its similar to the reasons Klingons wear their honour blades and she knows how to use it to defend her personal honour.

Misc.: Head of the outfit, can fly most aircraft of Alfegan origin.

The other 7 don't really merit a description, being an assortion of scumbags dragged off the streets and beaten into shape for this sorta job. Money allures to them very much.

More funding would definately be appreciated, but it is not a necessity at this point in time... For the moment.

That depends on the laws of the host nation. Were this in Catawaba any blades and pistols are fine for public carry.
