Beamed from Dark Rift and around the globe, this transmission can be easily be picked up as it is broadcasted to the various parts of Dark Rift and nearby nations by many satellites.
Male news reporter: With the return of the leadership of Dark Rift, many of you may have noticed the recent changes approved of by the consul of Dark Rift. For those of you not aware, Dark Rift was officially known as The Dominion of Dark Rift. Today it was announced by the government that henceforth Dark Rift will be officially be known as The Dominant Dominion of Dark Rift do to the greater power that Dark Rift represents. While UltraTech Descendants strongly opposed this new order, it was pushed through by Traditionalist votes.
While mostly unnoticed by less interested citizens, the national motto of Victory Through Technology has been changed to Victory Through Superior Technology. This was brought about from the many amazing technological developments that not only will greatly benefit the people, but will assure national defense and military operations will be more successful than previously possible.
As many of you well know, the national animal, the Panther, has long since been the animal that represents Dark Rift since the old era of Clan Prowling Panther. Do to this, it has been decided that the Panther will be given greater respect and will always be spelled with capitalization. May you all have the spirit of the Panther within you.
Last, but definitely not least, the most important change will be the new established currency, the Triad. While the Dark Rift economy has long since been tied to the C-bill do to the many mercenary groups and mechwarrior operations within Dark Rift, the nation has grown far beyond its roots of mercenary contracts and weapon production. C-bills will still be the standard for ComStar contracts, but within Dark Rift's boarders the new Triad will overtake the outdated C-bill currency. The name Triad comes from the manufacture of the valuable coins which will be made out of three rare metals: gold, silver, and platinum. The higher value coins will be even crowned with diamonds. Do to the high cost of production, it will take upwards toward an entire decade until sufficient supply of Triads will be made to completely replace the C-bill.
Many have found the plan to instate the Triad as the national currency as folly, saying it was far too costly, and the materials far too scarce to make them. Others have planned demonstrations against the name Triad, do to its potential religious overtone. The Order of Oblivion states that all is ruled by three Goddesses, thus the name Triad linking to the idea of three has brought scrutiny on the name of the new currency. The government will be seeking contracts to import many tons of gold and silver along with diamond and platinum to make the Triad. If negotiations for the materials from other nations fall through, the Triad may be abandoned before it is even produced.
