After designs like the TM series and the Jaguar tank class the new, improved tank design that has been used for private Grestonian use it officially open to be bought by foreign nations and militias. This design is meant to be for more urban fighting or close quaters fighting.

The turret and hull are protected second generation Chobham armour, ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour) kits are also fitted as necessary. A nuclear, biological, and chemical protection system is located in the turret bustle. On each side of the turret are five L8 smoke grenade dischargers, and a number of infa red sreening rounds.Also smoke grenades are set off shrouding the tank from visual or thermal detection. It may also be fitted with reactive armor over the track skirts if needed (as in the Urban Survival Kit) and Slat armor over the rear of the tank and rear fuel cells to protect against ATGMs. Fuel and ammunition are in armored compartments with blowout panels to protect the crew from the risk of the tank's own ammunition cooking off if the tank is damaged. Protection against spalling is provided by a kevlar liner. Also The PT-1 can survive multiple hits from the most powerful tank munitions (including 120 mm depleted uranium APFSDS) and anti-tank missiles.
