I have two different designs for a new flag for my nation. I need to know which one you guys like better.

I have centralized the entire image and cut back on the use of crosses, though I still have one cross to represent the prominence of the orthodox christian religion in my nation.

(Note: Both flags use the same symbols but they are arranged differently and I want to know which arrangment looks better.)

The six stars above the eagle (the larger ones) represent the six provinces of Voralia. The two crosses represent the two state churches, the eagle represents the state itself, and the two stars (one directly above and the one directly below) represent the northern government district and the southern government district.

(NOTE: the six provinces are divided into North Voralia/South Voralia, hence the two stars. But the eagle represents Voralia as a single political entity under the rule of King and Parliament.)

Which flag you like better? Theres really not much difference but I wanted some opinions on them. Or you can comment on the flag designs themselves. Crappy/Uncrappy?

Cool. Truth be told I like the second one best as well but I thought I should ask the public first.

And the post did say '1' originally, I do that to get around the "Your Post Has Been Moderated' crap. You know for the new players. (something I figured out with a previous nation)

Second. First one sweeps out attention from the center, while the other sucks it in. Putting in two crosses at either end is a bit distracting, though: look for a way to make it more towards the center so peoples' eyes aren't going everywhere trying to take it all in at once.

Alright I will have to think about it and try to figure out how I am going to make that work.

clearly the second one. looks more finished. By the way have you pict the crosses by any spesial reason? you know that it is the "Cross of Lorraine" representing both Lorraine in easter france and Jeanne d'Arc??

The compression of the JPEG makes everything blurry and terrible. The first one, while cluttered, uses PNG, and physical quality-wise is better. However, I agree with the others; the first is more cluttered than the second one.

Really? I was under the impression that the crosses were of Orthodox Christianity... That is what the crosses represent, the two orthodox churches of Voralia.

Oh I know what you mean about the JPEG, PNG. Usually all my images are uploaded in PNG format because they are less pixilated and easier to edit when I need to. But I was in a hurry. Sorry.

Your right it would be clearer, but I was going for the symbols of the Byzantine style Orthodox religion. And the cross I found for that was the one I used.

I have made color changes, the fourth one now contains a white cross and the eagle is gold. (symbolizing a purity in religious faith along with a prosperous state.)

This new one seems much more balanced than the other one, from my point of view.

It is my most exalted opinion that you should make the cross black on the forth one and then you've got a great flag.

Version 3 and Version 4 are essentially the same flag except that the colors are different. In Version3 the cross is black.

But the eagle is gold in version 4. Black cross, gold eagle is what i think would look best. There is too much white with all the stars and cross being white.

Personally I got for the second flag. The first two are better than the last two because the two crosses flanking the eagle help to occupy a rather blank field of red and balance out the image. The canopy of stars plus the two above and below show a symbol of unity amongst those stars and in connection with the eagle they surround.

The whole flag gives more of a feeling of 'unity.'

I am glad so many people like my designs (V2 in particular). But before a final decision is made you all have to look at the last design.

I had a moment of inspiration while looking at various other national flags and I came up with this idea:

The Catawaban Office for Flag Aesthetics has decided in favor of this newer design. They have said, "Wow a variety of colors! Colors that don't make it look like some Orwellian state or a knock off of V for Vendetta!"
