Irshon Town Hall dates back to the 14th Century
The new Treaty guarantees the sovereignty of the Free Cities of the Sercaan League, while also protecting their rights to trade and pass from the Acalian Empire.
3rd Disreig, Irshon – For the past two weeks, representatives have met in Irshon Town Hall to discuss the relationship between the Free Cities and the U.S.C. The cities, now calling themselves the Sercaan League, have since last September joined themselves in a loose political and economic alliance in order to serve as a stronger force against foreign powers, namely Acalia. This is the resulting aftermath of an attempted invasion of the Free Cities of Irada and Irshon on the part of the Acalian Empire last September, now the two formerly quarreling cities and their neighboring cities have made peace.
Key points of the meeting included discussing the League’s trade rights around the Perdllwor Sea, the training of the individual militias into an organized fighting force, and the construction of roads, railways, and infrastructure in Sercaania to promote the easier passage of citizens and goods between the cities. Another issue that was brought up was the fact that none of the cities have ports or are easily able to ship their goods out. The result will be the construction of a new port city to be built with the help of Cookesland and the other five cities. This newly built city will serve as the administrative and commercial hub of the region.
The process has been long and rocky, for the first time groups that have been at odds for ages are now sitting at the same table and of course, not everyone is happy. Many see the new move as a disaster, but the majority of people in the area see this as a step in the right direction. “Now we don’t have to worry about Acalia coming in and controlling things or some neighboring city attacking us. This is the beginning of a wonderful relationship between the cities of Sercaania” says Irshonian college student Meredith Folssom.
