The Pumian War

I saw it peering from the grass outside my mansion. Whatever it was, it wasn't there to give me cake and cookies. I jumped out of the room before a machine gun :mp5: tore apart my living room. Whoever made this attempt on my life shall be punished severely!

Do you know who made an attempt on the life of Tyler Pumariason, the leader of the Armed Republic of Pumi? If so, reply to this post!

[OOC: Why? He's not breaking any rules.]

A commoner yells out, "No, I do not!"

Tyler stands before the crowd and points at the commoner.

"I think you know more than you are currently expressing! Take him to...the room." he shouts.

Guards grab the commoner and drag him away...

[OOC: I would more recommend writing like Daehanjeiguk or Anagonia; Dae wrote this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=528099) masterpiece and is an excellent RPer while Anagonia writes vividly. Greal and myself are still new and are learning, while Hataria (Ryou Black Islands) has, well, not the best reputation, so to speak :p.]

Either this forum is retarded, or it's just the people who have decided to reply to this. What's wrong with my post? It's role-playing, and it's an international incident that happened in Pumi! You keep saying read the stickies, and I don't get it.

Well, it's just the way the post is made that is... well, can't think of the word.

Anyways, when you post in roleplay you don't write it as if you yourself were talking and communicating what happened. Actually, the "Tyler stands before the crowd and points at the commoner.

"I think you know more than you are currently expressing! Take him to...the room." he shouts.

Guards grab the commoner and drag him away..." is posted correctly. Role-play.

Now then, when you write you should have posted something along the lines of, "Tyler noticed a mysterious figure approaching his mansion from his window. He stood up and walked towards the window wondering what it was. Damn, thought Tyler, I'm pretty sure this guy isn't here to bring me cake and cookies.

Tyler immediately ran out of his room just as heavy machine gun fire sent splinters flying everywhere. Running from his assailant, Tyler dived under a table to avoid more of the gunshots until the intruder was brought down by his guards..."

Imagine a post among those lines, that would be more appropriate. Truly there is nothing really wrong with your first post, it just isn't the way things are done here. Well, everyone has to start somewhere.

There is nothing actually wrong with your post, you just should have made it clearer and more story-like, something like this:

The Pumi president was doing normal paperwork, but then someone tried to shoot him. An hour later there is a press coference and the nation´s secret service starts investigation.
Then you ask OOC (out of character), that some nation will rp as an assassinator. They have attacked for some reason, like political dispute etc. You can also rp a terrorist/rebel group yourself in addition to your nation, so you´ll rp two different sides. From there on the story will start to develop. You should read the stickies, that way you will make sure that you don´t make mistakes in the future, even if you didn´t make one now.
