Itisas

"...From the outset, the accusations of foreign control in the government and promises of protection and liberation from foreign evil were merely a lie to justify the self-styled "Revolution" orchestrated by the politically-charged echelon of the Itisas High Command and hidden behind the National Patriot Party to give the military's control an air of legitimacy. General-turned-President Jacob Trelawne Somersby, or "Papa Jake" as he would later be known by a sycophantic and scared population, was no less than an aggressive, unstable sociopath with a Sadistic Personality Disorder that managed to charm his way into the hearts and minds of the nationalist, elitist tendencies within Itisas society. However, it would take hindsight for people to realise this, and many simply went along with the National Patriot Party through a misguided sense of nationalism and pride..."

Blood. Tears. Anger.
"...Charles Craine reporting for CNN. There are unconfirmed reports of a military coup in the island nation of Itisas. Television studies were blacked out this morning and radio transmitters disabled as the country lost all communication from its government..."
Fire. Bullets. Destruction.
"...we can see from satellite photos from the United States Defence Department showing armour and infantry units of the Itisas Army entering Itisas City, the capital of the nation, with Navy and Air Force units on high alert but remaining within their bases..."
A flag torn down. A flag raised. Cheers. Cries. Horror. Joy.

"This is Donald Johnson reporting for Itisas Central News. We must apologise for our lack of broadcasting yesterday, as technical problems associated with our transmission equipment caused a temporary blackout in our service."
"Our top story this morning; following the unrest caused in the Parliamentary and Presidential elections last week, General Jacob Somersby, Chairman of the Joint Chief's of Staff in the Itisas Army, ordered military forces to take control of Itisas City and several other key cities, facilities and locations. Speaking at a press conference this morning, General Somersby cited "complete and total proof" that the President Gregory Hwaine and the members of his Liberal Party, landslide winners in the elections last week, to be spies in the pay of foreign governments seeking to control Itisas for their own economic and political benefit."
"As he spoke, the General's staff provided the press corps with documents pertaining to financial payments from foreign governments to key members of the Liberal Party, including over a million dollars to President Hawine himself. The General promised that the military's control would be temporary, and that new elections would be scheduled in three days to bring civilian control back to the government."
"Following on from this story, military personnel carried out raids on the main offices of the Itisas Socialist Party, the Conservative Party of Itisas and the People's Democratic Front in order to ascertain any other foreign influence within those political parties. A spokesman for the Itisas High Command stated that several officials from various party organisations had been detained for questioning pending possible charges of treason."
"Weather reports today..."
