Atruria's Imperial Foreign Legion
The Royal Foreign Legion, often considered the premier branch of Atruria's seven operational military services, is, once again, recruiting soldiers. These soldiers can be independent volunteers, national units seeking to bring glory to both the Legion and their home nation, professional mercenaries for hire, or prisoners convicted of serious crimes, donated by governments.
Mercenary and National Units
Mercenary and National Units may come only in sets of Battalions, Brigades, and Division. The Foreign Legion organization structure is listed below. Each mercenary soldier will gain citizenship of Atruria, after serving in the Legion for seven (7) years. All Legion soldiers will be afforded at lest a lavish 600 sq ft housing for their services. Additionally, while serving in the Legion, all soldiers will be provided with food, military housing, and a pay of 20,000 USD per year.
Prisoners
Governments may donate prisoners to the Imperial Foreign Legion, to give them a chance to atone for their sins. These prisoners must be convicted of serious crimes, such as rape, murder, or armed robbery, and equally as heinous acts. Governments will receive 100 NSD for every donated prisoner.
Independent Volunteers
Any groups or individuals that volunteer without any association with a government or mercenary outfit shall be considered independent volunteers. Single or small groups of independent volunteers shall be dispersed throughout units that require them. However, if independent volunteers enlist en masse in groups greater than 1,000, they may opt to form their own brigade. Each volunteer soldier will gain citizenship of Atruria, after serving in the Legion for five (5) years. All Legion volunteers will be afforded lavish 700 sq ft housing for their services. Additionally, while serving in the Legion, all soldiers are provided with food, military housing, and a pay of 20,000 USD per year.
Unit Type
As of this moment, only light infantry units are being accepted in the Legion. We may consider accepting paratrooper, combat engineer, and light cavalry units in the near future.

“We have two companies of Legionnaires running rampant all over the northern half of this island, and three Marine Light Infantry brigades pinned down in the southwestern corner, doing nothing. What the hell is going on?” – General Vasily Smirnov, Royal Army
The Royal Foreign Legion is a key component in Atruria’s armed forces, providing the elite power projection- and low-intensity conflict-suited warrior. It is made up of the best trained, the most dedicated, and the most feared and respected soldiers in the world. The Legionnaire is the physical embodiment of strength, valor, courage, and fidelity. As a Legionnaire, you will be prepared to serve the crown whenever and wherever you are needed, ready to take on any threat, anywhere.
In the Foreign Legion, you will be able to change your name and start a new life, if you so desire. You will be able to travel the world and come into close contact with new and interesting cultures. You will get to learn a plethora of languages, including Strellic, and English. You will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with some of Atruria’s other premier units, including the Paras, 32 Battalion, and the Royal Navy Beach Commandos. You will receive substantially higher pay than other branches of the military, as well as a 5,000 pound signing bonus. Finally, if you execute your duty as a Legionnaire faithfully, you will earn your place, by blood spilt, as an Atrurian and Hero of the Empire.

]Selection[
After enlisting in the Royal Foreign Legion, you will undergo a rigorous, seventeen-week long selection and indoctrination process. The process will not be easy, there is a selection rate of only 30%. This course will include extensive physiological training, rucksack marches, obstacle courses, weapons qualifications, unarmed combat, marksmanship training, ceremony and drill, and Legionnaire indoctrination classes. During the last week of Selection, you will experience extreme mental and physical stress, while being permitted only 6 hours of sleep for the entire week. If you are one of the few who do make it through, you will be able to proudly bear the title of Imperial Legionnaire and begin your extensive training to become an active-duty Legionnaire. If you wash-out, you will be sent to the Imperial Army, undergo basic training, and be enlisted as a standard combat infantryman, with the option of retrying Selection in two years. If you are forced out due to an injury sustained during the selection process, you may or may not be allowed to join the next selection group, as per your drill instructor’s opinion.

]Legionnaire’s Creed[
Loyalty, Valor, Courage, Fidelity, Integrity. These are Legionnaire Words.
Exceeding beyond the limitations set down by others shall be my goal. Sacrificing personal comforts and dedicating myself to the completion of the mission shall be my life. The ability to control my emotions and my actions regardless of circumstances sets me apart from other men. Uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast -- The title of Legionnaire is my honor.
Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained trooper. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
I shall be forever bonded to my Rifle. I must fire my rifle true and learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. My rifle is a physical part of my body. I will ever guard it against damage as I will guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I know that what counts in this war is not the rounds I fire, the noise of my burst, nor the smoke I make. I know that it is the hits that count.
On the battlefield, as in all areas of life, I shall stand tall above the competition. Through professional pride, integrity, and teamwork, I shall be the example for all men to emulate.
Never will I surrender, though I be the last. I shall not engage in any action that may aid my enemy and the enemy of my Legion in any manner. If I am taken, I pray that I may have the strength to spit upon my enemy.
Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-and-ten-percent and then some.
Acknowledging the fact that a Legionnaire is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Legionnaire my I am expected to move farther, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.
If knocked down I will get back up every time, because I persevere and thrive on adversity. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my Teammates and accomplish the mission.
Realizing it is my choice and my choice alone to be a Legionnaire, I accept all challenges involved with this profession. Forever shall I strive to maintain the tremendous reputation of those who went before me.
Energetically will I meet the enemies of my Legion and defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my Legion.

To: Atruria
I am glad that we have this agreement. I propose that after such time as Bedouin Forces are integrated into the Legion that we have a wargame between the Legion and an OPFOR composed of troops from both nations. This will help build unity amongst the troops of our nations.
From:Bedouin Raiders
After conversing with the Imperial War Ministry, we have come to the conclusion that this is a sound idea. We would absolutely like to take part in some sort of wargame/military exercise in the near future.
Faithfully
