Official Message from the Emperor's Office
TO: President Arnold Fukada of Shansekia
FROM: His Imperial Majesty Emperor Conrad II and the Imperial Ministry of Foreign Affairs Head, Pime Taradox
RE: Assimilation
As head of the Imperial Ministry of Foreign Affairs I, Pime Taradox, am required to inform Mr. President Arnold Fukada that his Imperial Majesty Emperor Conrad II demands that the Federation of Shansekia declare loyalty to the crown and become a Commonwealth nation. Upon acceptance of this demand, Shansekia will become a member of the newly formed Zukariaan Commonwealth and will gain all of the benefits that accompany this new status. In the words of his Majesty:
"As a member of the Zukariaan Commonwealth and entrance into the Zukariosphere, the Federation of Shansekia, now to be known as the Semi-Autonomous Territory of Shansekia, will have full access to Zukariaan assets in Arterus and full support in expansion there and elsewhere, so long as said expansion does not create unwanted war. Zukariaan military assets and Shansekian military assets will work in conjunction with one another under Zukariaan military leadership.
The Shansekian commonwealth government will be expected to answer to myself and fly the Zukariaan flag at least at equal height with the Shansekian flag. The Shansekian commonwealth government will form a Zukariaan-style Senate or Parliament which will vote on laws created in Zukariaa. This Parliament will be lead by a Zukariaan Senate-Governor, but will be made up of elected Shansekian officials. Said Senate-Governor's responsibilities will be no more than keeping myself informed upon the happiness of the Shansekian people."
I have been ordered to inform the Shansekian government that a failure to comply will result in serious consequences. The Emperor does not wish to sound threatening to his future subjects, and hopes they will be happy with these new arrangements. You, as current government head of Shansekia, will act as the Emperor's governor in Shansekia.
We hope for a positive response!

"Are you really sure this is a good response, sir?" remarked the Chief Advisor angrily. "SERIOUSLY, WHAT. THE. FOOZLE?"
"I see you've been listening to the SPEN. Anyway, yes, of course. Ambiguous, but obvious enough! Seriously, they expect open arms. And this is what I call open arms!"

"I'm going only with a security detail, nothing else." sighed the president. "Stop asking to tag along."
"Why not? This affects all of us!" shouted the Chief Adviser, the cabinet nodding in the background.
"NO! I will do this...I need to show Mr. 'Emperor Conrad II' who he's messing-er, annexing with." said the president sternly. "I'm off," he muttered, waving the cabinet off and leaving for his limo, which would take the drive to Coriler.

"Sire? Sire!"
Conrad suddenly shook awake by a slave, who had been assigned to wake him up when he arrived in Shansekia,"We're here, sire."
He took a moment to reorient himself. The flight from Zukariaa to Shansekia was indeed a very long one, and he had been busy for the majority of it, dealing with nonsense elsewhere. The next month of his life was packed with important meetings including a meeting with family members back at his palace and a conference called soon by Questers. He could only hope that this visit to Shansekia to iron out the details of their incorporation into the Greater Zukariaan Empire would roll over smoothly and quickly.
He moved out into the aisle of his private jet from his personal booth at the back. He was now in his office, which itself had several offices connected to it. His personal flight attendant, a young woman with dark brown hair, gave him a bow, revealing obscene amounts of cleavage, causing Conrad to grin. He had done that to their uniform on purpose.
"Evening, Majesty. It seems we've arrived in Shansekia. Senator Arthur von Aiur is waiting for you towards the front to go meet the Shansekian," the attendant gestured with her fingers,"'president'."
"Yes, yes," Conrad moved past her and through the plane, to where he met Senator Arthur,"Shall we?"
"Indeed," came the reply. The two exited the plane into Coriler International Airport. The two were immediately suffering from massive culture shock. They were surrounded by Japanese people, the signs were in Japanese, and there were so many godsdamned lights.
"Bloody hell, Majesty. This place is rather foreign," Arthur joked,"Shall we find this President?"

OOC: LIGHTSSSSSSSSS AND SO PROUDLY WE...
IC:
"I wonder where they are..." muttered the president, standing on the tarmac and glancing at his glowing watch. "That's their plane, right?"
"I think that's them, sir," said the bodyguard, "but they seem...a bit shocked. Could be all those lights. They don't have that in Zukariaa, you see..." The bodyguard made a quick gesture behind him to Coriler, where massive spotlights, an incredible nightlife, and commercialization to the extreme led to massive glowing billboards and skyscrapers that made light pollution look like...well, shit.
"Makes sense. Let's go talk to them, then, shall we?" The president, along with his bodyguard, walked up to the dazed Zukariaans. Holding out his hand, he said softly, "Welcome to Shansekia! Sorry for all the lights, I hope you can live with it...your majesty. I'm President Arnold Fukada."

Conrad took a moment to look away from the lights. Sure there were lights in Zukariaa, and there were crowded commercialised downtown areas, but what the hell was this? He turned slowly to Fakuda,"Yes, indeed."
Conrad shook the man's hand, followed by Arthur who greeted him,"Good day, Mr. Fakuda. We're pleased to meet you. Foreign Minister Taradox was unable to make it to this meeting, unfortunately. He is quite busy, as I'm sure you know. Shall we get this all under way? I would certainly enjoy seeing this new part of the Greater Zukariaan Empire!"

Already considering us a part of the empire... though the president. Bold. "The Foreign Minister could not attend? Too bad. I hear he has a...reputation of some sort. Anyway, the itinerary has already been prepared. You'll be going through Shansekia's major cities on the way to Shansek, and we'll take a look at the farmland along the way...if you wish. I know I have a map somewhere...oh, here it is." Fumbling around in his jacket pockets, he pulled out two small, folded pieces of paper (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc35/xyhuang/Zukariaan_Route.gif), which he unfolded and handed to Arthur and Conrad. "Here's a map of the route we'll be taking. For tonight, you'll be saying over there." As he spoke, the president pointed towards a large egg-sac like building (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc35/xyhuang/Coriler_Seaside.jpg) connected to a nearby beach. "That's the Coriler Royale Hotel. It's more readily prepared for foreigners - there's much less bright lights and such, which I'm sure will be to your pleasure. Well then, the car's this way" Finished, the president started walking towards the limo.
"Oh uhm, by the way..." he added on. "They're may be some protesters, possibly violent. Keep your head down." Coming up the limo, he opened the door and allowed the Zukariaans to go in first. Driving down the city roads, the president pointed out the Coriler waterfront (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc35/xyhuang/Coriler_Waterfront.jpg), tall skyscrapers, and some of the unusual architecture styles. (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc35/xyhuang/Coriler_OceanHeight.jpg)
Unbeknownst to the people within the limousine, the Shansekian Independence Movement was mobilizing. As the driver gapped in awe, hundreds of people filled the streets, chanting "DOWN WITH CONRAD! SHATTER THE ZUKARIOSPHERE! LONG LIVE THE PHOENIX!"
"Uhmm...sir," mumbled the driver over the limo's intercom, "we have a serious problem. Turning around, he shouted in horror and slammed the brakes; the protesters were forming a live barricade. The protesters seemed pretty mad now, and as he glanced down the hood of his car, he gasped in horror as he saw trails of blood draining off it.
"Well then, get ready, boy," shouted the president through his intercom, "cause I'm pretty sure it's going to get worse when the police arrive." Coincidentally, the police arrived en masse, forcefully using batons and even their guns (blanks, of course) to try and move the crowd away. Resistant, the crowd struck back, using their wooden signs to attack police barriers and the men themselves. Managing to clear a pathway, the limo managed to drive on as the carnage continued. It quickly got bloody when soldiers started using real bullets and the protesters, anticipating this, retaliated pistols and molotov cocktails. Occasionally, bullets and the crude explosives would hit the limousine as it raced to leave the city, and the president did his best to pretend nothing was happening. "I'm sure it's nothing to worry about." He laughed, attempting to sound casual. Needless to say, he failed miserably and eventually consented to stare out the window at the massive protest.
As the car finally pulled up to the hotel, the president told the Zukariaans, "Sorry about that...I didn't expect them to get that riled up. Well, you best check in, I have to make a speech to them..."
