OOC: Basically, I'm taking anyone under my wing that has good writing skills and is interested in RPing with me on a more personal basis. This isn't any kind of "I return" thread, because I haven't gone anywhere. This is for RPer's who may be interested in becoming apart of the Freekish Empire.

Freeks across the Empire were stunned to hear that Lord Damien Dreadfire would be resuming command over Automagfreek since he bowed out of the public light years ago, and immediately he set about restoring his lands to their pre-Azrael glory. He was still proud of his son even though it was obvious to him that the young man was not quite ready to assume the responsibility of governing over nearly 11 billion Freekish citizens. But with a revitalized vigor and a new fire raging within his ungodly powerful soul, he would be more than ready to take on the task of writing a new chapter in AMF's long history.

Gholgoth and its subsequent territory of Gholgoth Minor were booming in terms of economic prosperity, military strength, and number of member-states. NATO too had been increasing the size and potency of its coffers in the many years of peace since the QC war ended, and economically had continued to show its relevance in the world through the near mind boggling size of the Trinity Bank. And thus all was well in the world of like minded alliances, but deep inside Dreadfire longed for the glory days of the AMF Collaboration, where many nations united under the banner of President Thomas Kaye and tied themselves politically, economically, and militarily to Automagfreek.

Damien's 'Empire' as it were consisted of AMF proper and its holdings from colonies and conquered territories, but little anymore in the way of independent nationstates. He knew that there would be some in the world who would seek to better their lands and people by joining the Empire in harmony and embracing the high standard of living that Freekish citizens enjoyed. Crime had all been wiped out by Dreadfire's internal policies against harsh offenders, unemployment was at record lows, the Freekish Mark's value continued to grow annually, and technologically the Empire was advancing rapidly. Damien thought it to be wise to open the arms of his Empire to those who would seek these benefits just as he had done in Gholgoth, for even former enemies who joined the brotherhood were blown away by the level of cooperation and true freedom they experienced. He wanted his Empire to be the same kind of brotherhood that it once was and that Gholgoth had become.

So he set about drafting a resolution that would offer nations a chance to become apart of this Empire of progress and prosperity. He carefully penned his message to the world over the course of the afternoon, which was to be revealed on the nightly news across the world.

Peoples of the world, I bid you good evening.

Tonight I present those who seek a new path in this world a message of hope and progress. I present an offer the likes of which has not been made for many generations here in Automagfreek.

Long ago when this great land was ruled by the legendary President Kaye, there was a movement. This movement was labeled simply 'The AMF Collaboration' and consisted of nearly a dozen nationstates who sought the progress and prosperity that Automagfreek offered, which was envied by many worldwide. During this time those that flocked to Kaye's banner experienced a wealth of change, for their economies, militaries, and indeed societies were overhauled and taken to levels they could once only dream of.

But today that dream is reborn, for the Excessively Armed Empire is opening its doors just as it did long ago, and just as the Democratic States once did. This is no 'alliance' in any conventional term, it is an Empire, a collection of lands and territories that functions and flourishes as one. Those who seek to join the Empire need not worry for your laws, religions and culture can remain your own. Your way of life and regional affiliations will be respected, but your nation will immediately experience change in a variety of forms. Your economy will be tied to the behemoth Freekish economy, your military will be trained, equipped, and lead by our seasoned and experienced officers (as well as your own, we would not subjugate your armed forces), and your society will experience all the luxuries and equalities of our own.

We do not demand that you kneel but that you stand tall and fly the banner of the Excessively Armed Empire, for in doing so you shall become one of us. When your pulse merges with ours you will become greater than you could have ever hoped, and you will be treated with the same honor as any Freek. Those who seek this new avenue may respond to me directly, for I look forward to dealing with those who are serious about the future of their people.

Rumors were flying all over the nation, and the media was waiting for a press release on the news from President Jason Batista of Leocardia. Eager to know what is being done with Lord Damen Dreadfire's Automagfreek, the press had released false claims about the newly acquired stories.

Though, while in the Presidential Palace, Jason Batista had typed up a welcome to Dreadfire's reign of Automagfreek.

I am pleased to welcome you back in control of Automagfreek, and would like to send a tribute to your highness as a heart-felt warmth from Leocardia, 10 pandas from the forests of China. Lord Damien, may we see each other once again.

[ooc] As a role-player on Nationstates I must confess my contribution has been limited. This is my fourth incarnation and to be honest I have not done much with it. Nothing has particularly sparked my interest in continuing my earlier countries. Alliances I made evaporated, my regions became inactive and ultimately I let the countries go to pot.

It is my hope that applying as an applicant to the Freekish Empire would accomplish three things – first give me a reason to keep my nation going, have some reason other than my own whim to RP or not. Second – I hope to ride your coat tails slightly. It has been my experience that any RP you’ve been involved in has been memorable – at least by internet forum standards. More to the point the AMF brand name attracts attention. People will flock to your threads having your popularity attached to my own nation would mean that I – hopefully – will no longer find myself in short supply of RP partners. Third and finally, you seem to have created for yourself a niche of RPers who do quite well for themselves. I don’t care to be apart of the adoring masses you create amongst the players here but I can appreciate the people you have decided to maintain relations with. These people were either very good before you interacted with them and or matured through the practice granted via an association with you.

OOC: Hmm...an intriguing opportunity. I have some questions, however. So...are we required to use your military harware? I'm rather fond of my own. And also what exactly does tying our economy to yours entail?

[ooc] Please don’t misunderstand – I am not out and out given to the idea of subjugation but based on what you’ve said thus far I am prepared to work out the details in a more in character fashion. After all for my country to join the Empire the constitution would effectively need to be re-written as currently it stands that the citizens of the Republic owe to no higher authority than the Republic. Beyond that amendments were added to the effect that in questions between faith and patriotism; patriotism should win.

I have many an idea on how my induction into The Freekish Empire would occur but I don’t want to move on it without further input from AMF.

Besides no one gets everything they want from a political decision. Something better some things worse. My motivation as a player only vaguely guides my character’s motivations. There are some people within my nation who would fight the joining of an Empire tooth and nail.

OOC: Soulforge Cathedral: You can still use your hardware, though my suppliers would send your armed forces enough of our own arms and ammunition to bring it up to par with Freekish standards. The Empire would also supply you with advanced combat systems that have never, ever been exported from AMF. Economically, we would introduce our currency into your economy (yours can still be used, my money will essentially serve as the Euro to your Deutschmark or whatever. My exchange rate is higher though.) and our companies would set up shop. This would create a lot of jobs to your nation as well as bring Freekish products in at no expense since you would be apart of the Empire.

And while in talks with the man before him deep within Nova Pictavia, Dunan Ruu picked up his PAD seeing something about Automagfreek. Slowly, he began to make an official reply, though more than thousands of miles away from his office.

An Official Message from the Desk...er...Private Access Device of the Chief Governor of the Motherland of Anagonia

Dear Automagfreek,

Let me explain a few things to you before I cast my judgement.

For a long time now the United Republic has looked in awe at your nation. Not only for the unsurpassed military, for the godly economic might, for the brave and loyal citizens. But towards your Leader, a person I personally respect and admire, Lord Lord Damien.

I personally believe that if not for your Nation, my own would not have unified and become stronger. If not for your shadow, we would have not stepped in it to try to reach your godlike throne of power. If not for your wars, our military would be nothing more than trained civilians. If not for your challenges, for your trails, for your successes, for your victories, the United Republic of Anagonia would be nothing more than a dream than reality.

Let me express that, because of you, we are more than a dream. Our military is first-rate, our navy nearly matching most of the worlds. Our air force able to combat any threat, and our space ventures well on their way to ultimate scientific and military success. Even as you never spoke one word to us, never saw us, never even considered us, I, personally, considered and saw you. Without you, my leadership would not have been as able as it is. Nothing, not even the provinces, would have been kept together.

To my People, your are the guiding light to the Free World. They admire you, they celebrate holidays in your name. They celebrate your victories, and mourn your defeats. Even now, unknown to the world, we have parks dedicated to your fallen. My people practically worship you, just because you are.

I understand that saying such leaves open weakness and faults. But I myself would be too weak, and too faulty, to even consider my position if not for the example you set for all leaders of the free world. I studied your battles in college, and participated in reenactments with my brave fellow warriors of our military forces. It was these experiences of knowledge and physical strain that turned me into the able and capable person I am today. I dare go far as to say that without Lord Damien's example, I would be a coward among heros, afraid to even lift a sword.

That being said, I must convey the following sad message. Anagonia itself already devoted, democratically, its entire nation to a good cause. The Silver Imperium, and our wings are under Nova Pictavia, if not over her, because of my Peoples belief in their endeavors and her protection. We joined the Imperium not out of need, but out of want to experience more. And my People decided with the proper vote to do so. We are still the same nation, just a part of a bigger whole. And our Military force makes up almost the entirety of the Imperiums defense capability. Almost, I believe.

Yet even now I tremble with anger at not seeing this earlier, not having saw this mentioned long ago before I spoke of the Imperium to my People. They would have died to even be considered brothers with your nation. But I must sadly convey that, even if I were to mention it, their devotion to the Imperium now outweighs even their deepest desire.

So a compromise I come up with. I believe that our two Peoples, our two Nations, can better themselves by forming an alliance. I assure you with how much you are highly considered here no one would even think of attacking you, or provoking you. Your words are clearly read and heard through out our lands, and even a consideration to us from your part would make a baby child dance with glee. And if this is unacceptable...perhaps some form of relations.

My people are already eternally devoted to you, even when you did nothing. It is lacking to not mention they would die for your lands given the choice. I believe they would, I know it. Even my brothers and sisters in our armed forces mention a grand fight in that arena. Rather sacrificing themselves than see one of yours fall first.

But yes...I know my people would enjoy even the slightest of talks. Think it over, for I eagerly await your reply.

Dominion Intelligence had brought the President the news only seconds after it happened: Automagfreek's Emperor proper had indeed returned. Rumors began flying back and forth as to why, but any fool could see the logical choice of action given what facts were known.

It was because of what was known at this time and the obvious shadow of power emanating from this nation that loomed over the rest of the world that caused the following message to be sent to the Excessively Armed Empire:

To the Supreme Warlord Damien Dreadfire of the Excessively Armed Empire of Automagfreek,

Though you probably have never heard of us, we in the Dominion of Ruthless Slaughter have most definitely, as all nations have, heard of you. We for many years had been in isolation, falling as all former CAD nations with the exception of Doomingsland into obscurity. However, unlike most others, our nation has resurfaced on the world stage.

An alliance we have forged, the United Defense Directorate, has also most likely never reached your desk as more than a footnote. However fledgling we may be we are still a solid alliance and share one thing in common with your grace: we will not allow time to bury us, and we will be noticed.

It is on this note that I, President R.L. of the Dominion of Ruthless Slaughter and Co-Chairman of the United Defense Directorate, request a formal exchange of embassies between our two nations with the possibility of diplomatic negotiations opening in the near future.

We in AMF have indeed heard of the United Defense Directorate and would value opening dialogue between it and the greater Freekish Empire as well as Gholgoth itself. We are also pleased to hear that Ruthless Slaughter is progressing nicely after the downfall of CAD, though we would like to point out that many prominent ex-CAD signatories have made a happy life for themselves in Gholgoth, prospering like never before and rising to heights they never thought possible.

It took me quite some time during our talks to actually get to research things, but according to our records in the Grand Library of the Republic, we have a solid alliance with Automagfreek. The records can be found here (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Diplomacy&action=display&thread=1103680349). I understand its a few years old, but out of curiosity is it still current?

Also, I have notified my brethren in the Imperium, at least one of them, to the possibilities of your offer. Besides that, we thank you for your recognition, and hope this bit of information from the past offers outstanding possibilities.

Upon further consideration of your recent proposal, the Board has come to the conclusion that tying ourselves so directly to a foreign power isn't in the best interests of Soulforge Cathedral. The offer of native military hardware is extremely alluring, but we still have our doubts. As such, we must decline. However, it's possible that we could help out the Empire if needed. After all, we're always looking for ways to garner influence on the international stage. If you should find yourself in need of an ally, do consider calling upon the Dyparaxa Research Corporation.

The Government of Kahanistan has progressed much since the departure of General al-Ghazi to Allanea, where he rightly belongs. While relations between our states are still poor, perhaps none the better for our having become a protectorate of Praetonia, our interests did merge during the time you waged war with Doomingsland, our mortal enemy, and during the Gholgoth / Q.C. War, in which we fought a common enemy in the Commonwealth, we even made a request to join NATO, something that would not have previously been considered a mainstream position in our government.

As we are warming to other Gholgoth states and are on good terms with many individual members of NATO, on behalf of the Senate I am willing to offer a formal peace treaty with AMF, in addition to trade and an exchange of ambassadors. Even after peace with the Doomani, we still share many common allies, and common enemies.
