This is more like an alliance, not a region.
This is more like an alliance, not a region.
Agreed. A region can have powers that oppose each other. This is an alliance with a map. Drop 4&5 and it makes more sense as a region.

Aliquantulus Pachydermus is actually both a region and an alliance. To get into the region, you have to join the alliance. To join the alliance, you have to move to the region.
Any takers? We're still opened for more players.

You can and may change the map but the official map will be posted on the top. You cannot take the entire open area on the map, you are also a smaller nation, so you will not be allowed to take a huge amount.

SNES as in Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The map looks like one from one of the old Super Mario's or Legend of Zelda's on the SNES.

Bumpster!
I am, as you can tell, a new nation shopping around for a region and am very interested in what you're presenting. I just had a few questions, I hope you don't mind answering them.
First, is there any prerequisite such as having a certain government type or ideology (aside from being allies with each other)?
Also, is the name of the region and the alliance the same? What does Aliquantulus Pachydermus mean (if I'm not mistaken a pachyderm is an elephant, which happens to be my national animal)?
Finally, what is that red line running through the map? At first I thought it was the equator, am I wrong?

You do not need any type of government but you can't be in the UN. We're not really allies, we'd rather fight other people than each other.
Aliquantulus Pachydermus means: Little Elephant (us).
You are not mistaken; the red line is indeed the equator.
P.S. I am the founder of the region.
Thank you for answering my questions promptly. I have decided that I would like to join, and since I am a small + new nation would be willing to take whatever piece of the map, no matter how small, that you choose to dole out to me.
Again, thank you.
Cocumur welcomes you to the region.

Ya so does Greater Headhunters.
(This is secretly a bump, so dont tell anybody)
Thank you both, although I've still to come to a final decision on a map location. Any suggestions?

May I suggest some northern territory? You will be one of the few nations with access to a lake ecosystem. I can add forests if you would like any.
The map (http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/gg260/Killerkan/Nationstates/?action=view¤t=NewUraartu.jpg). (As of now)
(I can give Snigg some forests too.)
Looks good. It looks as if I'm surrounded by unoccupied territory. Is this correct?

Yup!!

Hur, Hur, HUR!
Im sort of hyper!
I'm going to go ahead and start working on a detailed map of my territory with the location of cities, airports, roads, and whatnot. What's the scale?

lol, we will go by you! I hadnt thought of that! Okay um...
Think of that lake as Michigan and Superior combined. The continent is about the size of North America.
That helps me out a lot, I had made a map of my nation and some surrounding land already on the premise that it was much smaller, but I'm relieved that I now have a bit more room to place cities, rivers, lakes, etc.

Here is a tentative map of what I've been working on. I'd appreciate any feedback, as I'm not very experienced when it comes to map-making. I took the liberty of adding several small rivers flowing towards the much more volumnious (sp?) river already in place. Disregard the red lines, as they represent roads and are likely to change.

You do know the big white things on the continential map are glaciers, right?
And the puple lines are national borders. I'll post a legend soon if things aren't clear enough. :D
why are there glaciers on the equator?

Yes, yes you will be. :D
I do like the names of your locations. They are very creative.

There arent, the red line is the equator.

To be honest, I stole Mount Plouton from the Proto-Indo-European word which eventually developed into the Greek Pluto (being the god of wealth, I thought it was appropriate for a mountain) and for Lake Nechtun, well it came from the PIE word that developed into the Latin Neptune. At least I think so, I can't remember now...
