Atleus was an island nation about half the size on the Britain. It had been colonized in the late 17th century by the UK where it was a colony until 1922 when the UK allowed it some limited indipendence but still apart of the common wealth. In the early 1934's the Union of Fascists was created which was deeply supportive of Nazi Germany and Mussolini's Italy. It gained in popularity but was banned in 1939 on the outbreak of World War 2.
The Organization was renamed the Atleus Nationalist Action party in 1946 and became active again. It still was quite popular but not as much as it was in the 30's with membership declining
In the 1970's the organization seemed to have fizzled out or broken up into smaller parties and it appeared Atleus Fascist movement had been crushed. Then the Atleus Patriotic Force Party was formed in 1988 in response to high unemployment and falling economic conditions.
In 1998 the APFP participated in elections and got 23% of the vote making it the 4th most powerful party.
In 1999, APFP leader, David Burke declared Global Terrorism as a massive threat to Atleus and proposed new anti-terror laws which failed to get past.
In 2002 the APFP came 42% of the vote making it the second most powerful party. This time his anti terror laws were passed in parliament.
ID cards were introduced to all citizens
Immigration was restricted and Islam was banned with all muslims being forced to leave the country
In June 2005 APFP supporters marched on parliament on David Burke's orders and declared Atleus a one party state. ruled by the APFP
All political opposition was rounded up and arrested, exiled or executed.
All people seen as "un desirable and indecent" (those who worshipped foriegn religions, different sexual orientation, immigrants etc) were also rounded up, harshly suppressed, sent to concentration camps ands sometimes executed
In the same month David Burke changed hte constitution
Made himself president for life.
the APFP is the only legal party
Id cards were made compulsory to carry around
9 pm curfew was introduced
Immigration from non english speaking countries were banned
Emmigration was restricted
Censorship was introduced for all media
Statsec was created (State Security) the secret police
In 2007 a car bomb exploded in the capital city, Atlanford which killed 9 people and injured 12 others.
This caused the government to clamp down even harder

The APFP had been in power for almost 3 years. David Burke was in his late 50's and the country was in order and fully stable. Statsec did a ruthless job of hunting down any opposition and "abnormal people" and putting them in labour camps.
David Burke was addressing the people of the country on TV. Atleus was a capitalist country and quite prosperous. people had car's, computers, TV's. there was no famine. APFP had employed the unemployed and the economy was moderatly growing.
The architecture had an old english feel with old 19th century flats just maintained and refurbished from the inside every couple of decades. The result were cities with an old, 19th century architecture in all the cities. sort of making the atmosphere gloomy and gothic especially when you saw Statsec's black vans with thier Red Symbol on the sides driving around the cities.
Every flat was fitted with a picture of President David Burke who had a head full of black hair, combed over to one side. He was always very tidy and in the portraits he always looked up to one corner.
The black flag with the red symbol situtated in the middle of a white circle hung down behind President Burke who was about the address the nation on TV
"My fellow Atleusion's global terrorism has not reached its peak yet. Next month will mark one year from the vicious, coward attack by the terrorists on our land. We have to reamin united. loyal to our nation if we are to spot out the terror suspects in our borders. The APFP has a theory why we have suffered so bad in the past and that is indecency and lack of morals which is why we clamped down on sexual deviency, fals religious worship, we must install traditional, morals and family values...."
President Burke was devout christian who believed in god and wanted it to be the core behind the Atleus people. We was also against feminism saying "woman should not be in positions of power" and he was extemely against gay rights, trangenderism and other things which he saw as "Indecent and moraly wrong" his harshest punishments and attacks were against this class of people.
President Burke was also a staunch anit communist and left wing people were also arrested as potentially dangerious. His current obsession was keeping the Atleus people in the grip of a war against terrorism. As long as he held the people in a state of fear against an external and internal enemy they blindly followed him believing he offered them security from Terrorism.
Since the car bomb in 2007 over 15 other car bomb plots had been foiled buy Satsec. Whether these plots were planned by the government to scare he people or if they geneunly were terrorist attacks no one knows. However with each foiled plot there were always confesions and always executions by the "Terrorists" who were usually left wing, communists or religious extremists

"I would like to call any nation dedicated to eliminating the terrorist threat to join us in our fight against religious extremism, communism and bring morality and traditional family values back to the world"
