Overview
With the invasion of Atora, Theoroshia's long time neighbor and resident rogue nation, came an unexpected problem: the superiority of the Athorian T-110U tank over the outdated T-95X, Theoroshia's updated T-90 main battle tank. To combat this problem, Theoroshian research and development officials began to develop a new main battle tank that could go toe to toe with the rest of the world's super power's main battle tanks.
The design began first with the hull. Theoroshian tank commanders were asked what they wanted with the hull, and their answers were incorporated into the engineer's plans. They liked the protection offered by the T-90 hull, but wanted a more compact design that could be used to traverse small ditches and fords and fit in smaller places that the T-90X hull could not. The T-90 hull was taken and shortened, and equipped with the newly researched "Kavity" ER-A-7 Light and Heavy explosive reactive armor.
Next was the turret. The tank commanders really liked the shortened turret on the T-90, mainly because it offered them better cover. However, in order to accomendate more ammunition for the 125mm gun, the turret (and overall, the turret) was raised slightly. Also, better anti-missile systems and an advanced range finder were put on in order to help the tank commander and gunner in finding and engaging targets. The newly made AE-9 smoke dischargers put onto the tank also emit super-heated metal, thereby confusing incoming missiles into going for the decoys.
The designers were almost done. Small changes were made: no autoloader, and the ability to ford was added. The T-90 could only ford 5 meters of water, while the H-1 can ford up to 8 meters of water due to it's advanced "Hydro Ford" flotation device. Almost 12,000 have already been produced in Theoroshia's massive military yards, and finally have been made available for export.
