The Hispanic Republic of Miami Jai-Alai

Miami Jai-Alai
06-03-2008, 20:15
The devout Hispanic Republic of Miami Jai-Alai is a small environmentally stunning economic powerhouse nation. Renound for its complete absence of social welfare and compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 1,175 billion enjoy frequent democratic elections, which are uniformly corrupted by big-spending corporations buying politicians who best suit their interests, corporations are forbidden to donate campaign money.

The minute, pro-business government, or what there is of one, juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Religion, Spirituality, Education and Commerce. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Manufacturing, Furniture Restoration, and Retail industries and other sectors of the economy.

Voting is voluntary, the tenet of free speech is held dear, a total ban on all forms of unsolicited cold calling is in effect, it is illegal for police officers to carry out serches without serch warrants due to strict privacy laws, crime is a major problem.

The government favors Catholics by the appointment of a Catholic supreme court justice, mandatory school uniforms, illegal abortions law, yet there are ways around it, organ donation rates are the lowest in the world, Euthanasia and Gambling are legal, lets play Jai-Alai. The national sport.

Refugees from other nations are flocking to Miami Jai-Alai, low interest student loans are available to students of poor families, ethnic minorities with excellent grades must compete with one another to be admitted to some of the nations best schools, those darn crazy Cubans say and do the darnest things in the popular Que Pasa USA? TV Show.

Miami Jai-Alai's national animal is the Jai-Alai Players, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, millions of tourists a year visit Miami Jai-alai's Players, beaches and El Sinsonte's lush tropical rain forests. The national currency is the Peso $.

Miami Jai-Alai is ranked 1st in the region and 4,496th in the world for Most Pro-Market Nations.

We would like to trade Ambassadors with your nation. Establish full, economic, political and social relations. Such as a free trade agreement among others. A possible immigration agreement with your nation. A possible exchange of tourists guests between our nations.

If your nation wishes to promote our nation's tourist potencial in your nation. Please state how many tourists we can expect for the remainder of the 2008 year. Post RW & NS ethnic origins of tourists for our records. Please post date your post of interest in tourists. As this determines the average flow of tourists too and from our nations for the remainder of the 2008 tourist year.

MIAMI Jai-Alai - Native born Cuban bassist and composer Israel "Cachao" Lopez, who is credited with pioneering the mambo style of music, died Saturday. He was 89.

Known simply as Cachao, the Grammy-winning musician had fallen ill in the past week and died surrounded by family members at Coral Gables Hospital, spokesman Nelson Albareda said.

Cachao left communist La Habana Cuba and came to the United States in the early 1960s. He continued to perform into his late 80s, including a performance after the death of trombonist Generoso Jimenez in September 2007.

Cuban-American actor Andy Garcia, who made a 1993 documentary about the bassist's career, credited Cachao with being a major influence in Cuban musical history and said his passing marked the end of an era.

"Cachao is our musical father. He is revered by all who have come in contact with him and his music," Garcia said in a statement Saturday. "Maestro ... you have been my teacher, and you took me in like a son. So I will continue to rejoice with your music and carry our traditions wherever I go, in your honor."

Cachao was born in La Habana in 1918 to a family of musicians. A classically trained bassist, he began performing with the Havana symphony orchestra as a teenager, working under the baton of visiting guest conductors, such as Herbert von Karajan, Igor Stravinsky and Heitor Villa-Lobos, during his nearly 30-year career with the orchestra.

He also wrote hundreds of songs in Cuba for bands and orchestras, many based on the classic Cuban music style known as son.

He and his late brother, multi-instrumentalist Orestes Lopez, created the mambo in the late 1930s. The mambo emerged from their improvisational work with the danzon, an elegant musical style that lends itself to slow dancing.

"The origins of `mambo' happened in 1937," Cachao said in a 2004 interview with The San Francisco Chronicle. "My brother and I were trying to add something new to our music and came up with a section that we called danzon mambo. It made an impact and stirred up people. At that time our music needed that type of enrichment."

The mambo was embraced early on and Cuban composers and jazz musicians have tweaked it over the years. It also influenced the development of salsa music.

In the 1950s, Cachao and his friends began popularizing the descarga ("discharge" in Spanish), a raucous jam session incorporating elements of jazz and Afro-Cuban musical approaches.

Cachao left Cuba in 1962, relocating first to Spain and soon afterward to New York, where he was hired to perform at the Palladium nightclub with the leading Latin bands.

In the United States, he collaborated with such Latin music stars as Tito Puente, Tito Rodrigues, Machito, Chico O'Farrill, Eddie Palmieri and Gloria Estefan.

He fell into obscurity during the 1980s after he moved to Miami, where he ended up playing in small clubs and at weddings.

But his career enjoyed a revival in the 1990s with the help of Garcia's documentary "Cachao ... Como Su Ritmo No Hay Dos" (Like His Rhythm There Is No Other) and the release of several albums, including the Grammy-winning album "Ahora Si!" in 2004. And personal performances in the Dominican Republic, Spain and other nations.

In 2006, Cachao was honored at two Jazz at Lincoln Center concerts with the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra paying tribute to the Latin bass tradition. Cachao also led a mambo all-star band at a JVC Jazz Festival program at Carnegie Hall that year.

Native Cuban-born reed player and composer Paquito D'Rivera said Cachao made friends everywhere he went with his affable personality and good sense of humor. D'Rivera said he was working on a piece he had written for the multiple Grammy winner when he heard about the death.

"He was what a great musician should be. He represented what true versatility in music is all about," D'Rivera told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.

Cachao's wake was set for Wednesday, and his burial was set for Thursday, Albareda said.

I have read the terms that you have presented to us, and relayed the information to the Secriats of Commerce, Culture, Environment, and Defence. I am pleased to say that the Empire finds these terms acceptable. Secriatist of Education Hestor Whitefjord would also like to commend your actions on behalf of the exchange student program, which, acoordign to his records, would be the first recorded instance of native Spanish speakers learning Coscivian and vice versa.

Also, I am very grateful for this wonderful Embassy location that you have given me and my staff. The local restaurants are divine, especially this "con leche" beverage that they serve.

Again, I am glad that this has worked out, and hope that jovial relations between our nations continue.

The girls say, Svetlana you have hardly eaten any of your ropa vieja (old clothes) dont you like it, arent you hungry? Svetlana says, oh im hungry alright, very hungry.

OOC: I think that you should have the busboy checking Svetlana out instead.

"I'm quite content with this delicious ropa vieja. It's good to eat in my opinion."

The busboy knows she is checking him out. Accedentally drops some dishes on the floor. Picks them up, looks directly at Svetlana and smiles. She is hot he thinks, he says to himself.

OCC: This is going to be very very hard. I am not a good RP er. lol.

The other day at the restaurant. Svetlana come in, asks for the center room table, orders her usual ropa vieja (old clothes) and for dessert fruta bomba with cream cheese. Alberto keeps checking her out, boy is she hot. He makes sure he walks by her table every chance he gets. Svetlana keeps eating hardly paying any attention to him. She is playing hard to get.

The sights, ill show the town. As it turns out they went dancing that night. Dancing cheek to cheek to slow dancing. Alberto steals a kiss. Svetlana kisses him back. Alberto feels confident now and sure of himself. Suggests they go to his place. Which later will be revealed as his friends place.

They dance to slow music, hugging and cuddling. He is a gentle and careing lover before going all out with full force proving his young blood and pleasures he is giving Svetlana during thier first night together.

Embassy of Miami Jai-Alai Communiquee to the government of Neo-Ixania.

To Foreign Minister, Ivan Rucinsky.

The government of Miami Jai wishes to recall Special Ambassador Svetlana Sturmer at her earliest convenience to finish thier on going dialogue. The issues of Culture Immigration and defence are on the agenda.

Ambassador to Neo-Ixanai Carmen Santiago will be recalled to Miami Jai for the negotiations with Svetlana and her staff in our nation at thier embassy.

Ivan Rucinsky had been amazed to see the reports about Svetlana Sturmer's possible romantic escapades since she usually acted and looked like a zealous workaholic who had no time for romance rather than a partygoer who went out with bus boys. Such an image had been maintained by her for years and for the Foreign Ministry to read these reports was rather intriguing even if many people dismissed the reports as tabloid hogwash. To think that an eighteen year old bus boy would get it on with a woman thirty or so years old was absurd to plenty of people. Ivan Rucinsky smiled, though, as he read the reports before recieving the letter from the Foreign Ministry of Miami Jai-Alai. He would, of course, tell them that Svetlana would go to them at a time when she was able to since she was taking a vacation in an Ixanian spa and resort town at the time. If one saw her face when she read the reports about her fling with a Cuban bus boy, they'd see a shocked and amazed woman who seemed to show a bit of contempt for Alberto even if she was just a bit fond of him. Svetlana did tell Ivan Rucinsky that she would go back to Miami Jai-Alai after her vacation was finished.

"Miss Santiago,

I wish to tell you that Miss Sturmer shall return to your nation for the upcoming talks after her vacation is finished.

Signed,
Ivan Rucinsky."
