A Case of Piracy (FT, sign-up/OOC)

The plot is simple:
A tradeship is forced out of hyperspace by a pirate ship. The tradeship sends out a call for aid and makes a run for it. Although fast, the ship is soon confronted by the pirates who do their best to take down shields and board it. At this point one of my ships enters the scene, coming to the rescue, at the same time as an Imperial Stardestroyer (RPd by a member of the GE) enters the system. My ship fights off the pirates and, thinking that they are done for, turns it's attention on the Imperial Stardestroyer (short and furious battle). Meanwhile the pirates realize that since their engines are down and ship is about to blow, their only chance of escape is to board the tradeship, while me and the Empire are swapping blows, and thus make a run for it. After finishing off the Imperial vessel (who by now has called back-up, as have I) my ship turns it's attention to the tradeship, and sends in a small force to aid the security guards/systems in repelling the boarders. As the onboard fight progresses, another of my ships enter the system, and not much later 3 Imperial Stardestroyers enter the scene as well. Outnumbered and with one of my ships damaged, my ships do all the possible to repell the Imperials so as to take back the team onboard the tradeship. Will they succeed? Or will they die trying?
That's the general plot, happenings might play out differently as the RP unfolds... I'm not in any way trying to limit anyone's RP skills... =)
Basically I'm looking for experienced RPrs (one of which should preferably be a member of the GE) with a lot of creativity, as this RP involves not only ship battles but also a good deal of character-based RPing, especially on the side of the tradeship. As you may have guessed, I'm looking for 3 RPrs; one to RP the pirates, one the tradeship, and one the Imperials. (If you can RP more than one participant that's ok with me...)
So, anyone feel up for this? RP will start on Monday... come on folks, you know you want to be in on this... :D
(Note that I am only interested in serious RPrs who will not ditch the thread after a couple of days... I've seen that happen before, and it's really a waste of everyones time, so serious participants only please...)

If you need somebody to take on the tradeship, I could do that.
Being an situated in another galaxy, methinks the Republic of Earth would take trade very seriously, IE: The tradeship would not be a pushover, definitly.
Unless you WANT somebody with a nice 'pushover' tradeship for you to take over :P

Hey Furia, welcome to the forums, if you haven't been around under some other guise before. Unless a better roleplayer comes along vying for the position (which isn't exactly unlikely) I'd be happy to take on the role of the scallywags. Sounds like it could be very interesting. I promise that I won't make any of the characters talk with stereotypical 1700's pirate accents! Well, maybe one or two of them...
I might be indisposed during the evenings next week, but that's because I have the week off work - which means you'll have me all to yourself during the daytime (well, if you live in a timezone remotely close to GMT at any rate).

Dontgonearthere, I don't expect your ship to be a pushover in the defensive way... I envision a ship with few weapons, but hard hull, and maybe a defense system comprised of a few killer droids which can pin down the boarders while the crew either escapes or counterattacks... so I'm quite open for the 'not a pushover' thing in that sense... :D Also, since I won't be able to send a TG to your nation (I can't seem to find it) I'll post the link to the IC thread on this thread, come Monday.
Interstellar Planets, you're welcome to RP the pirates... and yes, I'm not exactly new to the forums, although I don't think we've ever RPd together before either way. I'm rarely active during evenings and weekends, so that's just fine fer me... ;)
Also, if no member of the GE shows up until Monday, when the RP starts, you're welcome to RP more than one pirate ship... (...while my ship will be ca 1,5 kilometres long, slightly shorter than the average Imperial Stardestroyer and definately lighter in mass, it will be rather powerfull... add that to stealth tactics and well, it could easily take on 2 or 3 pirate ships...)
Well, I'm definately looking forward to Monday comrades...:D

Edit: Oh and Interstellar Planets, remember, 1700th century pirate accent is a must... :D

As for my role...
I'm not quite sure... I think perhaps I could join in the fight against the pirates and when they're on board start attacking yours, of course, the ship's affliation would be hidden at start but you can always find out... and perhaps the GE will find out too and start attacking me.
Either way, it'll be interesting...
If you have another idea, TG me... as I suspect you have already done.

Hmm... not entirely sure what you mean... I got an idea though: what if say, one of your tradeships (garbage-disposal ships) was just returning from the Republic of Earth (Dontgonearthere) and both you and his ship were intercepted by FTL-inhibitors and attacked by several pirate ships?

Sounds like a good idea.. though the actual ship could depend on DGNT, It could be a ship to expand into the republic market or it could be an actual rubbish-transportation, a skimmer (space debris collector), or perhaps a TGM audit group.
I'll leave the choice upto DGNT since as ICly I'll be leaving his planet...

Just wondering if there's a reason why you need a member of the Galactic Empire to play the Star Destroyer? There are plenty of Imperial clones around on NS to fill that role, unless you have some past history with said alliance I suppose.

Well, actually I just wanted to fight a member of the GE because rebellion against the Empire is going to be included in the profile of the particular characters I'm planning to RP and would make a great background for further RPs, but I really don't care that much about it...
As for the roleplay, I was going to start it with a introductory post, before the shooting begins, so as to "set the scene", so feel free to do the same... once I've posted the first post you'll have an example... but it's really up to you...:)

I'd think the main worry for all involved would be the ships power core. Essentially, most of my capital ships are run using a degeneracy reactor, which basically runs off the emissions of a micro-black-hole (or, as I like to put it, pure SCIENCE!). Not something to be messed with, as it were.
Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for the thread. Might not respond too quickly due to some RL DRAMA, but normally I can get on at least once per day.

Well, it really depends. I'd say whoever would be most likely to notice that a galaxy recently collapsed into a black hole and would be likely to investigate that.
The Republic of Earth is in a galaxy outside of the main NS galaxy, a little bit backwards and hasnt had much formal contact with the outside world. I havent established formal trade relations with anybody as of yet, although I tried to put in an application for the ITF, but its seems their founder has vanished.

lol, lasers are ancient, I expect the pirates to have upgraded shields which can handle that kind of weaponry... but the boarding part might get interesting though... =)

My ships dont have combat shields, Furia. The only sort they have are designed to keep them from getting destroyed in sub-space. In realspace they rely on armor alone.

Well yes, but on this rare occasion it was not on my part! I was cycling home on Sunday night two weeks ago at around 12:30am, when a car came at me on the wrong side of the road. I swerved to avoid it, hit the curb at the wrong angle, and fell straight onto my face. Eleven stitches were required to seal the resulting hole in my head, which have since been removed. Suffice to say, I had something of a headache for a few days afterwards!

I'm hoping to hear from Dontgonearthere regarding any damage to their ship. The pirates intend to blast their ship to pieces at the very same moment they beam their entire crew, minus the captain, aboard in an effort to take it over quietly...

What I'm really trying to do is Jam their communications. The Hacking I agree, shouldn't work. But that doesn't mean that the whole should be ignored.
Basically what I'm doing is trying to tie up the communication ports of the pirate ship without needing to tie up my own. My communications officer is basically being very naughty and tricking the communications system into making a whole lot of connections to different communication ports and have them all use the same single port on my side. A sort of Denial of Service without the constant need to spam as that would cripple my ship as well as his.

Well I have no problem with this, but simply blocking out the related channels (or just disabling the speakers) would eradicate it rather than a complete system restart you understand, and it wouldn't reach the whole ship nor affect internal comms either. They have no intention of surrendering anyway - they either die at the hands of the pirate hunters, or die at the hand of Rodriquez for failing to complete their mission.
