I want to create a war system for my region within itself. If anyone could post ideas on how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Personally I would love it if we could come up with something like this. My ideas are generally alterations on existing systems – for example the D20 system.
Ariel dog fight would be resolved almost like an extended grapple check, with successive failures imposing penalties on your aircraft – as they start to be damaged beyond functionality. And finally failing a grapple by a certain margin would mean that your aircraft were destroyed.
We could agree on certain standards for certain units offensive power (damage dice), accuracy (plus to hit modifier), survivability (HP), mitigation (AC), et cetera. Then a database could be maintained on people’s military spending levels, they could try to plead their case as to why their tank has 50d6 of dmg, +100 to hit, 5000 HP, et cetera. This could be counter balanced by insistence on certain perquisites – logistical concerns etc. We could agree upon a standard force and give it an appropriate challenge rating – some system to stream line cost considerations and other considerations of balance.
